Scanning enabled but still won't scan
I have enabled my mac to be scanned to and have been able to in the past. My 8600 began to have issues several months ago, beginning with my document feeder and then to my flatbed scanner. I was at first able to scan from my printers interface board but when the issues began then had to switch to using the scanner software on my mac. Last week I updated from 10.6.8 to 10.9.3 and now it isn't working but I'm wondering if I am going to need to reinstall everything. I no longer have the discs that originally came with the printer.
If you can walk me through some steps I would be very grateful.

Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you cannot scan with your HP Officejet 8600 after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.9.3. I am happy to help you with this issue! I would recommend the following:
Reset the printing system. OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system.
Verify and repair disk permissions. Disk Utility 12.x: Repair disk permissions.
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Re-install the software with the full feature software and drivers. HP Officejet Pro 8600 series Full Feature Software and Driver- OS X 10.9 Mavericks.

When you say it "can not scan any wifi network" do you mean it is not detecting Wi-Fi networks?
Is Wi-Fi turned on in Settings > General > Wi-Fi?
Have you tried Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings?
Is it just the home network that the device will not connect to? or any network? -
I have a Mac Pro using OSX 10.7.4. When using apple mail I click on the address icon to obtain email address and nothing happens. I've restarted both the application and the Mac but still won't open address book. Any ideas please.
Assuming you have these accounts set up in Mail, open preferences and under Accounts tab, edit the SMTP outgoing server list. Do you have a .mac address in the list? If so, delete it.
Are you using iCloud?
For the troubled account, select the correct SMTP server for that account in the box and check the box to use only that server with that account. -
I purchased a song on itunes and when I play it, it says my computer is not authorized. A window pops to authorize my computer so I type in my account info and hit authorize. After that a window pops up saying it is already authorized but still won't play. None of this happens with any other songs on my itunes. I would just purchase the song again but I can't because every time I try to purchase it, the song says "play" next to it instead of "buy." When I hit play no music plays it just goes back to saying my computer is not authorized so I authorize it and it says it is already authorized then I click it again and it says my computer is not authorized. It's a never ending annoying circle. How can I get the song to play?
If you live in a Region that allows re-downloading Music...
Delete the Song(s) and re-download...

Some of my songs on iTunes on my computer won't play. It asks for my Apple ID which I enter to authorize the computer, then it tells me it's already authorized but still won't play. Ideas?
Thank you. This was working for a minute, now when I go to the store it says that iTunes has stopped working and shuts down. I tried reinstalling it, but it still having the same issue. Any ideas?

Just downloaded Lion and now iMovie won't respond when I try to open it. Even tried deleting the program (since it was an older version) and bought it new from the app store, but still won't respond.
Thanks for this mha007 - I can now open FF with a new profile. Can I copy my settings from the old profile or will this bring over the same problem, maybe a corrupt file. If it would bring the same problem, is there any way I can check which file is corrupt, apart from taking them over one by one?

I cannot open iTunes. This is the message I get: "The file iTunes library .itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now?" I did a download and it is up to date, but still won't open. HELP

FCP 7.0.3, Canon XF100, saved some clips to a portable hard drive and now they won't import? Tried moving them back to the CompactFlash but still won't import? iMac, 10.6.8
Well, for FCP to see this file structure and recognize it, you need to download the Canon XF Log and Transfer plugin...

Meaning that they didn't back up the full card structure? Lordy...very few shooters do this and it is maddening. If you don't have the full card structure, even with the plugin, FCP cannot log and transfer.

my IPAD won't accept my wi-fi password. I have tried resetting all settings and network settings but still won't accept it. Can't download to new version of IOS either, says software update server could not be contacted.
Yes I have put in the correct password, its all numbers so can't get it wrong really.
It has connected before as has my iPod and that won't connect either. I have checked that they aren't on the blocked list of the wi fi. Managed to download the new version of iOS and that hasn't made a difference.
I have the wi fi plugged directly into the computer rather than the booster hub as the computer won't connect to it when its in the hub. I did get the iPad to connect to the internet when it twas in the hub but once I upgraded the iOS it won't accept the wifi password in the hub either. -

Hmm, im pretty sure your not alowed to use a debit card as a method of payment , your options are credit card ( visa, mastercard etc ) but to clarify is it letting you download free stuff ?

With the iPod still plugged into an external power source, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear. This may take 1 or 2 tries.

Then new version of IMovie imported nearly all of my video and then suddenly closed. Now it won't recognize the video that it stil hasn't imported? I took the sd card out of the canon camcorder but still won't recognize or import it. Is there a cache that needs cleared?

My first thought was that maybe when you imported you chose to leave the files in place rather than copy then to the iMovie library..but I can't see where that option is now.
I too have created a short movie from load f clips..but can't export or share either..the 'Share 'menu is empty..you go to it and no sub menu appears. -

Smartform duplex printing in SPOOL
We set the print mode to "D" in the form, and it prints correctly back-to-back online. But if we send the output to spool, the printing is NOT back to back. Any other special setting we need to make for spools? Thanks in adv.

I have installed PS from the cloud twice now. It loaded without any errors but when I try to run it, it comes up fine with all the dialogs and everything but after 5 seconds it tells me the app is closing down without giving any error message.
