Scanning from flatbed

I have a Laserjet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw & Macbook Pro running OSX 10.9.5. I can print wirelessly and scan from the document feeder to my desktop using System Preferences, however, when I try and scan from the flatbed and save to desktop, it appears to scan but no document appears on my desktop (or anywhere else as when I search from Finder there is no document by the scan name to be found).
Any advice/help much appreciated.

Hi @StevDev ,
I see by your post you are unable to find the saved scans when scanning from the flatbed, but you can find the saved scans when scanning from the ADF through Printers and Scanners. I can help you.
Did you download and install the latest drivers? HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M276 Full Software Solution - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
Check the driver name that is installed for the printer. Make sure it shows just the printer's name.
Click the Apple menu and then click System Preferences. Click Printers & Scanners, highlight the printer name on the left side and on the right side of the screen it should show the printer's name. (Laserjet M276)
If the full printer name isn't listed correctly, delete it and add the printer name back in from the list. Click the - sign to delete the driver and then click the + sign to add the driver, might have to click the drop down to select the printer's name to add it in.
In the Printers and Scanners window, near the bottom, select the printer name beside Default printer.
Don't save the scan with any special characters or spaces.
Try and scan again.
Let me know how you make out.
Have a nice day!
Thank You.

HP Lawerjet Pro 200 Color MFP M276nw, When scanning from the auto feed or the flatbed, scans come out crooked

    Hi,
How about printing? do the print outs come out fine?
open the ADF bed cover and check if the scanner assemble is aligned in line?
also try connecting it to a direct wall outlet.
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF

We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct.  I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF.  Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  Could it be a fault in the ADF?

  • LaserJet Pro 200 colour MFP M27nw - problem to scan from ADF

I seem a new LaserJet Pro 200 colour MFP M27nw running on a PC with Windows 8 and have just realised that whenever I scan from the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), no output file is generated. The original document is drawn into the document feeder successfully and the printer display reports that the scan is ready. However, no file containing the scan is generated. This happens irrespective of whether I send the output to USB or to email and irrespective of whether the original document has single or multiple sheets.
Interestingly, the ADF works well if I try to produce hardcopies, that is, the printer is able to drawn in the sheets o fthe original document from the ADF (be it single or multiple sheets), and produce hardcopies of the original successfully. Moreover I have no problem to scan single or multiple sheet documents when the original document is loaded through the Flatbed Scanner rather than the Document Feeder Scanner.
    Appreciate any help. Thanks
    Stephen

    HI @StephenScerri ,
I see by your post that when you scan from the ADF there is no output file containing the scan that is generated to USB or to email. You can copy from the ADF and scan successfully from the flatbed. I would like to help.
Is this printer the Laserjet Pro 200 MFP M127nw?
I have provided a document for How to Scan: Windows 8.
When you scan from the ADF, do you get a scan preview from the computer software?
Or is it previewing the scan but not saving it to the computer?
What software are you using to scan with?
Try saving the scan to the computer, if you are getting a preview, to see if it will save the scan there.
Please provide in detail the results if you are still having issues.
    Have a great day!
    Thank You.

  • Problem Scanning from Samsung SCX-4623FN, using MacBook Pro with OS X 10.10.3 and Acrobat Pro 11.0.10

    My Problems:
    1. Scannersoftware stopps at the end of Scanning, showing the preview but not finishing the scan.
Only thing to choose: close the program and try again. Same result.
I can't change to "Scan from ADF".
    2. The SCX-4623FN is able to scan both sides automatically from ADF, but the button to select "scan both sides" is grey and not able to activate.
    3. I don't find other software offered by Samsung, Apple or Adobe for scanning.
Mostly I need to scan black-white-Text, OCR, 600 dpi, small file-size.
I don't know what to do. Anyone some Ideas?
    Thanks in forward.
    Greetings.

    Hi,
    1. To change the scan mode to ADF, you can change it on MAC under the Scan-Modus dropdown in ICA Window (Second window in snapshot)
    2. I think you are able to scan both sides automatically using Samsung SCX scanner as the scanner is a duplex scanner. Currently Acrobat automatically scans only front side for simplex scanner and scans both sides for duplex scanner and the option for scan sides is disabled for ICA
In case your scanner stops scanning in flatbed mode, please try to scan with the system scanner to see if it is not due to scanning at a very high DPI
I think this solves your problems.

  • CM1415FNW will not scan from feeder tray on one of 4 Imac computers all running OSX 10.10.2

This printer has been great never causing any difficulty until now.  After the latest OSX update to 10.10.2 on my newest IMAC (July 2014) the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) has failed when trying to scan to one of my IMAC computers.  The printer shows "Document loaded", the scanning software (HP Utility) on the IMAC shows "No Document Loaded".  When you switch to flatbed as document source the scanning software works perfectly.
Originally I assumed the printer was at fault and proceded to clean rollers, check aper and network connections.  All Appeared operational, so rebooted, to have same problem.  Deleted existing printer from printer preference and downlloaded and installed latest HP softeware & driver set.  Problem not resolved.
Tried to scan from ADF on oldest IMAC (August 2007) also running OSX 10.10.2 and it worked perfectly once I inastalled the printer/scanner software.
Both computers and the scanner are connected via a 10/100/1000 ethernet switch and everything checks out and there have been bo relocations or changes to the physical harware of the network
    This question was solved.

Your solution put me on the right track, the "reset" was  not available in the +/- menu, however I uninstalled all printers, then uninstalled all printer software and reinstalled via the Apple software update and that seems to have cleaared jp the problem.  Once again thanks for the assistance.

  • Can't scan from a networked Canon fb630u scanner

I run a linux server with a shared fully supported canon fb630u scanner through xsane,. Linux server configuration is ok, scanning from windows seven xsane-32 application works.
    This is the macbook net.conf
    connect_timeout = 15
    # localhost
    192.168.2.21
Ok, now running the command scanimage -L gives this result:
device `net:192.168.2.21:canon630u:libusb:002:004' is a CANON Canoscan FB630U flatbed scanner
So networked scanner is recognized by macbook...
But if i open Image Capture i can't see any devices neither in DEVICES nor in SHARED...
Moreover If i try to scan with simple command line scanimage all works!
    So where am i wrong?

First of all, even though you mention network scanning, I am not sure if you have the printer using the internal wireless support or if you have it connected to the USB port of the Airport Extreme. Some users interpretation of network connections vary. So if you do have it connected to the USB port of the Extreme, then scanning is not supported. This is a limitation of Airport devices.
If however you have configured the MP640 to connect to the Extreme via wireless and you are trying to initiate the scan from the MP640 to the Mac using the Scan button, then you need to have the [Canon IJ Network Tool v2.70|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0200080802.html] installed on the Mac.
Also, if you want MP Navigator to open when you use the MP640 Scan button, you need to install [MP Navigator Opener v3.0|http://support-au.canon.com.au/contents/AU/EN/0200087801.html] on the Mac.
Note that for the network scanner, there should be a separate MP640 entry under the heading of Scanners within the list of devices in Print & Fax. With this MP640 selected, you will have the Open Scanner button visible in the right hand pane. If you click this button, the MP640 scanner window will appear and attempt to connect to the AIO. Does this occur for you?

  • HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 - Can't scan from Windows

We recently purchased and installed an HP LaserJet Enterprise 500 Color MFP M575 to be used as a networked all-in-one solution for a number of offices. I have been able to get it set up on our network and have installed the appropriate drivers on the requested Windows 7 x64 machines, and network printing works perfectly. However, it seems that despite the fancy scanning features available from the all-in-one itself (scan to email, scan to a network folder, etc.), I can't find any way to do an old-fashioned scan from Windows.
I have installed the full software solution available on the driver download page for the device, and while Windows lists the device as a "Multi Function Printer; Scanner" it does not recognize it as an actual scanner. The built-in Windows Fax and Scan simply reports that no scanners are installed. The software installation did not include the HP Solution Center (which I am used to seeing from my experience with various other HP all-in-one devices) or any equivalent for direct scanning. The driver download page for the device does not include any separate scanning drivers, so I can't be certain if they were included with the full installation or exist at all. Some of our staff also use Adobe Acrobat to scan, and even that fails to recognize the MFP as a scanner.
We'll eventually be setting up the device to scan directly to a network folder, but we need a fallback while IT takes their time getting it set up; I can't imagine that the simplest option is not available at all. I must be missing something here, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: To add, I also ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor. Interestingly, it reports the device as a printer and only offers to "Fix Printing" without any sort of resolution for my scanning problem.

There is no change to this problem after 6 months since the last post. Put simply, and as stated in the previous posts, there is no way to scan a document and receive the image on your PC. If you are working with graphics for any length of time or want to create an image for inclusion as an image in a document or web page using this piece of equipment will not allow you to do so.
Great shame as every other function works well - it cannot be beyond the wit of HP to include a Windows application that enables you to scan an image, receive it in the software you are using at the time (e.g. Outlook, Word, Photoshop...) and use it in your work.
HP Printers several years older than this £1000+ Enterprise printer were able to do this simple job and have done so for a great many years. Just being able to use Microsoft's Fax and Scan would be start.

  • TS3147 After installing Mountain Lion, I tried to scan from my Canon MX870 and received the message: "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. A report will be sent to Apple,"

After installing Mountain Lion, I tried to scan from my Canon MX870 and received the message: "MP Navigator EX quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. A report will be sent to Apple,"  This problem happened right after I installed Mountain Lion. I then downloaded Canon's upgraded software and drivers for the MX 870 and the problem was resolved. Now one month later, the problem has returned.

    rjliii wrote:
Solved problem with original Canon software.  When I downloaded Canon software upgraded for OS X 10.8, I got all by Navigator Ex. Noticed that on Canon's site, the upgraded version is 3.1; my app was 2.1. Upgraded to 3.1 for Nav. Ex, and it works.
You should still use Image Capture IMHO.  If it was my gear, that's what I would do.  No need to worry about software upgrades.

  • HP OfficeJet 6500 E709a: cannot scan from Windows 8.1; uninstall crashes at step 8 of 10

When I try to scan from Windows 8.1, launched from the HP Solution Center, it fails before giving me a preview, saying:
    Scanning error
    4,[(2,22,80040001),(3,22,0)]
When I run the HP Print and Scan Doctor and select "Fix Scan", it fails on the first check, saying it failed to find the driver. The text field that gets uploaded to HP includes the string "hpbxpsrender.dll: Not Found".
I tried uninstalling, using uninstall.bat in the "OJ_AIO_6500_E709_EntScruber_140" (HP OfficeJet Enterprise 14.0), which I downloaded from HP.com. It gets to step 8 of 10 ("removing unnecessary components..."); then it hangs and Windows 8.1 says "HP Installer Uninstaller has stopped working" and kills it.
I have tried running uninstaller in regular mode, in regular mode with my anti-virus / firewall (Kaspersky) paused (disabled), and in Safe Mode with Networking. Same result every time.
I have run the Installer without error. I can view the HP OJ status web page in my browser (http://192.168.1.5) from both computers.
I don't remember if scanning has ever worked on this computer. Scanning works on another computer (Windows XP). Both computers are wired (Ethernet) to the same network switch as the HP OJ.

  • My HP LaserJet CM1415fnw won't scan from my Windows 8 computer

My hp LaserJet CM1415fnw won't scan from my computer using the paint application on my computer.  I had no problem with previous computer.  But I purchased a new computer with Windows 8 and the can option in Paint cannot be selected.

    Hi HelenBay,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I see that your HP LaserJet CM1415fnw will not scan from your Windows 8 computer, and I am happy to help you with this scanning issue!
For further assistance, I will need to know:
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies by itself.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.
In the meantime, please try the HP Print and Scan Doctor, and let me know what happens!
Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting!

  • Cm1312nfi mfp on 32bit windows 7 - upgraded with full solution sw and can't scan from printer

I have had a cm1312nfi mrp since 2009 that works fine but my HP Solution centre stopped giving me ink levels.
I uninstalled the printer software and downloded the current full solution sw for 32 bit windows 7 from HP. The printer works but I did not 'get' HP solution centre back and so cannot scan from the printer.
[I did download HP toolbox so I can see ink levels and can test the scan function which does work. However it does not have the ocr capabiltity which I had before and also it doesn't allow me to operate the scanner from the printer.]
Can you help me either get HP solution Centre back and functioning on my computer or else suggest some other solution to my problem?

    Hi,
The HP Solution Center is a software for inkjet printers as the HP Officejet product line, not for laserjet printers as the CM1312.
You may find the Supplies status within the HPToolboxFX softwre by selecting Supplies:

  • Can not scan from mx4890dw buttons, only from the computer

    Hello,
I got this Canon AIO a few days ago. I followed the start up guide instructions, got it signed on to the wireless net work easily enough, and installed the software from the CD onto a Win 7 64 bit Dell laptop.
Printing worked perfectly from the get go. Also, "Copy" seems to be working fine. Fax appears to be working, although I can't confirm yet that a fax has gone through ( no one is at work ) and I may have some questions later about how to send and receive fax when sharing a phone jack with a Comcast modem/cable set up. And how to get it to accept faxs while ignoring voice calls.
As for Scan, after I figured out that I had to push the scan button and choose "remote scanner" ( I push the scan button/Remote scanner/ buttons, get the message "waiting" and then operate from the computer) the scan function worked perfectly, in single and duplex, when controlled FROM the computer and Canon MFC toolbox software. But for the life of me I can not get it to scan from the Canon mx4890dw buttons. I push Scan, then "computer", then I select my computer ( there is only one computer), then either color or BW scan. All seems OK until here. But after I select color or BW,  I get a screen that says :"Scanning" with the choice to either cancel or "confirm destination". I select Confirm destination, which then takes me to a screen which says: Confirm destination" showing both the name of my computer and "color scan". That is it, as far as I can go. If I press "OK" it just takes me back to a choice of confirm or cancel. I am trapped in a cycle between these last 2 screens. Once I get to the next to last screen that says "Scanning: cancel or confirm destination", the processing data light starts flashing green. After a minute or so it will stop flashing with the message "an error has occurred/CLOSE". Oh, BTW, I have registered the scanner on the Canon MF Network Scan Utility.
So, I figure there is some button I am failing to push, or I am missing a step. Any one have any ideas on how to get this to scan from the Canon machine?
    Thanks
    Bill

Thank you Deborah, but after many hours of trial and error, time spent with Norton 360 AV/Firewall folks, many install/uninstalls ( especially after I saw on the E-manual that if you plug a cable from the printer into the computer, and you want to go back to wireless, you must uninstall/reinstall the software), the problem is finally apparently completely solved.
I found what I thought might be the problem by accident. When I last got off the phone with Canon, all they had to suggest was that it was either a Norton or firewall issue, or possibly a computer issue, and nothing they could really do or suggest about that. I accepted this, but while wondering what in the world I was going to do, it dawned on me that my previous Kodak all in one( that this machine replaced) had worked fine, with no scanner problems at all, with this computer, Norton and network. So it seemed like it had to be something other than those things. And I believe a Canon inkjet all in one before the Kodak had also worked with no issues scan wise.
Then I decided to try something else on a whim: I cranked up my old Acer Win XP and installed the software, and guess what happened? Perfect function in all ways from the printer/scanner. Scanned perfectly from the Canon using the panel buttons on the printer. And over the wireless network on an old computer using the same Norton Firewall as my Dell. So it now seemed impossible that it could be the network or firewall. It had to be the only variable, the computer or someway the canon was in conflict with the Win 7 Dell. I bet you can see where this is going! So I go to the online support for Canon and sure enough there are Windows 7 drivers for download as well as a firmware update. So I down load these and clock on them, but as far asd I can tell, nothing happens. It appears they did not complete installation.
So the next day I am back on the phone with Canon. Asking in desperation if they can think of anything before I return this machine back to Staples and get something else, which I really hated to do, but I can't take any more of this, as now it had stopped printing also( but all still hunky dory on the Acer!). But this time, the person I am talking to quickly asks if I am trying to install wireless, and says "hold on while I get you to the wireless guys". The wireless expert listens to my problems and quickly says "did you download the Win 7X64 driver?". I said I had tried but it didn't seem to do much. So he has me download it again and shows me the trick: when you click on the download, it creates a folder somewhere else where the driver is actually stored. I click on that driver, and 10 minutes later all is working perfectly. In fact, before I even hang up with the wireless guy, I press the buttons on the Canon and scan quickly to the computer.
So for now all seems perfect, just as it was immediately once I tried it on the Windows XP machine. So I suggest that this be the first thing suggested when folks are having trouble installing on a Win 7 computer. In fact, I have since noticed there is a sheet of paper that came with the canon that advises downloading drivers for Mac computers. Too bad it didn't mention this for for Win 7 also, since apparently at least some of the installation CDs don't include these drivers.
Now I am wondering if I should try and do the firmware update? Kind of afraid to fix what ain't broke.

  • Officejet Pro 8600 e. Problem scanning from Scan and Capture App in Win 8.1

    Officejet Pro 8600 e.  New.
Installed on HP Envy 23 Touch. Running Windows 8.1.
Wireless set up. Prints fine.  Problem is scanning from the HP Scan and Capture Software App in Win 8.1
Using Scan and Capture App I can scan photos fine.  They come out clear.  Scanning documents in GRAY has multiple bands/lines in gray over the entire page running vertically.  Scanning documents in COLOR are fine.
Also, if I scan from the printer directly using the touch screen on the printer, the scan output is fine.
I did the Scan utilty to discover any errors and it did not show any.  I think it's a software error.  I am going to uninstall the HP Scan App and then reinstall.  So, I will do the uninstall/reinstall and report back.
Also, I would like to know if there is a desktop program for scanning?  I would prefer to use that instead of the Modern HP Scan and Capture App.
    Thanks....

    Hi artrum,
I understand you've been experiencing issues scanning from your Officejet 8600 using the Windows Scan and Capture program. I will certainly do my best to help you with this!
From what you've explained, I believe you're correct, it does seem like it's an issue just with the Windows Scan and Capture program and as you've been able to scan from the front panel of the printer you definitely have the HP software installed. What I'd like to do is have you use the HP Scan software, where you should no longer run into issues.
To access the HP Scan software and be able to access it easily from your desktop I'd like you to follow the steps below:
    1. Go to your start screen and just start typing File Explorer. You should be able to then open it to access your computer's files.
    2. Then open Local Disk (C: ), followed by Program Files (x86), followed by HP, then HP Officejet Pro 8600, followed finally by bin.
    3. In the bin folder you should see HPScan. You will want to right click on HPScan and go to Send To and then select Desktop.
Now you should see HP Scan on your desktop and be able to open it and scan through that application.
Hope this helps, have a great day!

  • Scanning from 5520 to iPad in wireless direct mode ?

I have a Photosmart 5520 printer and a 3G  iPad - without any other computer equipment or WiFi network or
router in the house. The printing from the iPad to the 5520 in the Wireless direct mode works well.
My question is if I can scan from the 5520 to the iPad ? Have looked in the HP ePrint app for directions
or control buttons but can't find any. Is scanning from 5520 to iPad possible ?  Selecting  "scan to computer"
on the 5520 control panel does not work.
    Looking for any helpful comments
    Thanks

    Hello Johan,
The HP ePrint app is a different app than the one I have mentioned above.
The HP Printer Control mobile app is a different one which also allow scanning.
simply open the Apple App Store, search for HP Printer Control and install it.
Through that app you will also be able to scan.
