Scanning from hp6500a plus to google chrome
Bob Headrick sent a solution for my problem. He says input ip address on computer but I cannot figure where to input the ip address. Please help. Thanks John [email protected]
What they need to do is stop messing about with things. I 'Show all bookmarks' a more obvious command than 'Organize bookmarks'? No. So why do it then?
I am seriously going off Firefox.

Launch Reader from PDF file in Google Chrome browser PDF viewer
Hello!
So I have a fillable PDF form which runs document level JavaScript to essentially render itself inactive (hides fields, etc.) if opened in anything other than Reader or Acrobat. This works great, especially in Google Chrome has known problems with submitting fillable PDF forms properly.
Here is an example form: https://luxsci.com/forms/6296/2251/Qlg5/Medical_Center_Intake_Form.pdf
Open in Chrome and it's unusable, there's a warning layer, and a JavaScript alert. Open in Reader or Acrobat and it renders fine and submit works great.
When the file is downloaded in Chrome it's saved locally, i.e. Chrome displays the file URL as: file:///C:/Users/David/Downloads/Medical_Center_Intake_Form%20(3).pdf
I am trying to make the process of opening the file from Chrome in reader as simple as possible for the end user. As such, I am wondering if there is a way to add a button which will launch Reader on the end-user's desktop/laptop and open this file?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks! Thanks for your comments, but that isn't the issue. We provide form processing services and have developed an effective workaround via document level JS to render the form unusable and non-submittable (is that a word?!) if opened in anything other than Adobe Reader or Acrobat. The complaint we are trying to deal with is that non-tech savvy users can't figure out how to open the PDF in Reader when Chrome auto opens it for them in the built-in broken Chrome PDF viewer.
While I could certainly provide instructions for how to install/enable the Adobe Reader plugin in Chrome, the point is to avoid requiring the non tech savvy end-user to do anything other than click a button to open the file in Reader. So asking them to install/configure the adobe PDF plugin in their browser is not a feasible solution. So what I want is this:
-PDF opens in Chrome's built-in PDF viewer and user sees notice that they can't use the form in the current program.
-User can click a button saying "Open this file in Adobe Reader"
-Clicking the button launches the local computer's Reader application, and opens the file. The PDF is then rendered normally and can be filled out and submitted as normal.
I don't really think it's possible because of browser security restrictions against launching executables, but since the browser is just showing an embedded locally downloaded PDF file, I thought maybe there's a way...
Thanks! -
Setting Up Google Chrome Features for Cloud Printing from an Android Device
These steps are organized for optimal setup procedure and to decrease the time it would take to set this option up from start to finish. This is a lengthy process and is more for possibly troubleshooting issues that may arise during the setup of Google Chrome's Cloud Print feature. However, if you have an Android phone or tablet and are interested in being able to print virtually anything at anytime from anywhere from your phone to any brand of printer regardless of setup, there is a way. And this is how:
Open/Install Google Chrome onto a computer
Sign in with personal email to access the same Google Chrome account you intent to print from
Download Google Drive as an external storage you can access from anywhere
Open Google Chrome Settings (three lines stacked on top of each other)
Scroll down to the bottom of settings and click "Advanced Settings"
"Sign in/add printers/manage printers" are three of the print options you may see here
Follow this link for information on:
adding a classic printer to this option: https://support.google.com/cloudprint/answer/1686197?rd=1
how to add an HP ePrint email: https://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/printers.html#info-hp
on registering the email of that printer (HP registration page): https://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/setup-hp.html
8. add the printer to this section of Google Chrome
9. at the bottom of the page you will see "Send a test page/print test page" (that will be useful later)
10. at the top of this page is the option to share this printer with other Google Chrome users
11. Open Google Drive from www.google.com (likely displayed at the top of the webpage)
Can create a new document of any file type, upload, draw, etc
Leave computer on if intending to print from off the network or another location
The next steps are in regards to printing from a mobile device:
Install/open Cloud Print App
Add personal email account associated with Google Chrome
Select printer management if on the same network as the printer
Select Web tab and Google Drive if not on the same home network
Find earlier test page in Google Drive Documents
To locate other documents one could find many applications within this app or
In another app like Documents To Go, you can select to send previously saved documents (like one might send an email on the Android) to the Cloud Print app to open, view, and print
Print Test Document – this function means the printer has officially been added now
In Google Drive, but within the Cloud Print app, you can select the printer that was added to this network or from "Printer Management Options."
There are many ways to determine if your printer is still connected (offline, ready, etc.) but after confirmation that the printer is available, print jobs rest in the print queue until the printer receives the command to print. Then the documents are stored and available for reprinting.
Converts most print jobs to .pdf but prints most file formats from other applications as well
In Printer Management advanced settings
You can add a contact from the phone to use this printer
Set as default
See an extensive page of setup and printing options
*After a test print while the computer was off the document did not print and the printer appeared offline until approx. 4 min after computer was rebooted, then the document printed automatically.
Also if a document does not print, the troubleshooting guide on the phone suggested logging out of Google Chrome Cloud Print but I was unable to find that option it was suggesting (unable to log out)
To completely finish adding any additional Google Chrome accounts that wish to share this printer using the suggestion in step 10, you must log into the email that was added and select ADD PRINTER from within the email that was sent for the confirmation and follow the link and instructions on how to do this from your email.
Google Chrome and Google Drive support Windows, MAC, and Linux
You can also change share options, privacy settings, etc. but if you choose to go with the two-step verification process, you may not be able to add your Google Chrome email account to the app without a 16 digit code generated within Google Chrome Privacy Settings for your app (not recommended)
Now you have the option to also email any document to either the Cloud Print App or HP ePrint from the phone/tablet without actually accessing the app first. Locate the document, press the menu button for more options, select "Send to" and a list of available apps will appear. Choosing Cloud Print or HP ePrint sends the document or photo directly to the "print" function within the apps, instead of opening the app first and then searching for what it is you want to print.
**computer connected to printer must be on**
Requirements: a) Google Chrome, Google Drive, and Cloud Print mobile app b) These steps outline the use of an Android device on the network for setup c) will need the computer connected to the printer to be on at all times d) go to this webpage http://www.google.com/cloudprint/learn/ if you have any more questions.
Available features of Cloud Print App
a. Print all file formats from Google Drive (uploaded or create)
b. Has an internal notepad and drawing tool
c. Prints off all contacts and phone numbers as well as specified text messages
d. The scan option actually just means take a picture
e. Without Cloud Print Pro you get 5 days to test the features of printing Facebook pictures, Drop Box and Schedules before those features are no longer available

View Solution. This document is to assist others in understanding and troubleshooting Cloud Print. This took me many hours to get setup, troubleshoot, and prepare a document that is simple and easy to understand. These are literally step-by-step instructions on how you could be able to print from any Android device to any printer connected to a computer that has Google Chrome. You would then be able to use the Cloud Print App without having to use HP ePrint to print to any printer connected to any computer (USB or wireless) basically allowing you to print virtually anything from your Android.

Using Google Chrome - is there a way to convert multiple messages/folders into a pdf?
We are transitioning from Lotus Notes to Google Chrome. In Lotus, we had the option to select muliple messages or mulitple folders and convert them into PDFs. In Chrome, I only see the ability to convert a single message at a time through the "print" function. Is there another way? Thanks!
Spoke with Adobe rep - conversation below:
Chandhar: May I know whether you wish to convert the E-mails, folder to PDF at once in Google Chrome web browser ?
Michelle: I am looking to either select multiple emails OR covert a folder of emails into a pdf while in Chrome
Chandhar: Michelle, feature to convert the E-mails/ E-mails folder is available in Lotus Notes, Microsoft Outlook.
Chandhar: It is not available in Google Chrome web browser
Michelle: is there any future plans to change this?
Chandhar: It will be notified once it is available. -
How can I import passwords and usernames from Google Chrome into FireFox using Mac OSX?

If I open Google chrome the message displayed is "The site ahead contains harmful programs
Attackers on api.sourceapp.info might attempt to trick you into installing programs that harm your browsing experience (for example, by changing your homepage or showing extra ads on sites you visit)"Hmm, could be a bad add-on. Here's my suggested procedure for tracking down and cleaning up '''bad add-ons'''. Sorry for the length -- it's not as bad as it sounds:
(1) Open the Windows '''Control Panel''', Uninstall a Program. After the list loads, click the "Installed on" column heading to group the infections, I mean, additions, by date. This can help in smoking out undisclosed bundle items that snuck in with some software you agreed to install. Take out as much trash as possible here.
(2) Open Firefox's '''Add-ons page''' using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
''Note: If you are blocked from navigating to this page, you can load it using the search box or "Run" dialog by typing or pasting the following and pressing Enter:''
firefox.exe "about:addons"
In the left column, click '''Plugins'''. Set nonessential and unrecognized plugins to "Never Activate".
In the left column, click '''Extensions'''. Then, if in doubt, disable (or Remove, if possible) unrecognized and unwanted extensions.
Often a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Any improvement?
(3) You can search for remaining issues with the '''scanning/cleaning tools''' listed in our support article: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware]]. These on-demand scanners are free and take considerable time to run. If they finish quickly and especially if they require payment, you may have a serious infection. I suggest the specialized forums listed in the article in that case.
Success?
And then last but not least, if you need help with your home page or new tab page, please let us know and we can post the steps for that. -
Docs from Google Chrome (Adobe Acrobat DC) Stuck in Print Queue
Using HP Print & Scan Dr I have cleared up my queue so I can print from my MS Office docs. However, when trying to print a doc from my banking site using Google Chrome as the browser, the print options come up in Adobe but only go to the queue without printing. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe to see if that would free up the queue...no luck. HP's Dr allows me to print from other docs including email from MS Outlook. Suggestions? I did go to 2 other websites and was able to print from both in Adobe. I wonder if it's something with my bank's site?
Hey , Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you're experiencing issues when printing from an online banking site using Google Chrome on your computer. I would like to assist you today with resolving this printing issue. However, in order for me to provide you with accurate support today I do need to clarify a few things. (1) What Operating System are you using on your computer? (2) What HP printer do you have? (3) Are you able to print from the online banking website using a different internet browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox)? Once I have the answers to my questions above, I will be more then happy the guide you to a solution. I look forward to hearing from you! -
Using the scan feature of my hp to my google chrome
I am trying to scan a document from my new HP ENVY 4500 Printer to my Google Chrome. Does anyone know how to set that up?
Hi smckenna,
I saw your post about regarding the scanning and I will be happy to help. When you say “Google Chrome” what exactly do you mean? Are you trying to scan to a Chromebook or to your email or something else. The reason I am asking because Google Chrome is a browser (unless your using a Chromebook) and typically you don't scan directly to a browser.
What is your product number?

I am using an older version of Mozilla (i cannot see which version), but somehow this version is so old that I cannot use Hotmail or Internetbanking properly anymore. Therefor I wanted to update my Mozilla-program, but unfortunately this isn't possible. I downloaded your new version Firefox Setup 7.0.1.exe and I see this in the file 'downloads'.
If I want to click it, it says '“Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” is een uitvoerbaar bestand. Uitvoerbare bestanden kunnen virussen of andere code bevatten die uw computer kan beschadigen. Wees voorzichtig met het openen van dit bestand. Weet u zeker dat u “Firefox Setup 7.0.1(4).exe” wilt starten?'
Then I click 'Oke'....to tell the system I want to start the program. Then I get another pop-up: 'securitywarning......'
Then I click on ' continue' and I have to choose a program to open this program. I can choose from iexplore.exe or firefox.exe.
If I choose for firefox.exe.....nothing happens.
Quit strange. I am quit well with computers, but this is really strange to me.
Hopefully you can help me?
Best regrads,
Erwin WooningI finally figured out what was wrong. Since I had installed Google Chrome recently it already had the Adobe Flash Player imbedded in it.
When I uninstalled the flash player in Control Panel option the problem went away.

Dears,,
One of our clients uses Google Chrome
as their standard navigator to open PWA 2013 that we have deployed for them.
Every thing went fine until we tried to open a project plan using Project Professional 2013 from PWA using the Edit in Project Professional option, we had the below error:
"Project Web App was unable to find the specified Project.
the project was not found on Project Web App. some possible reasons include:
The Project has not yet been saved successfully to the server.
The Project has been deleted on the server.
you don’t have adequate permissions to open this project.
if the project is available in the local cache, you can click the globe in the status bar and select "Work offline", and then open the project, if the problem continues, contact
your administrator."
Please note that IE is working fine with this scenario,
the belwo screenshot shows the error that appears to the users.
Ibrahim Al-Masri Technology Manager at MethodCorpHi All,
As Gary and Guillaume suggested, have you tried to install IE tab extension for chrome?
See the link below:
http://www.ietab.net/
and also im with what Dale has posted
(why don't you just tell the PM to use Internet Explorer instead of Google Chrome?
I suspect that this problem reveals that PWA does not work perfectly in browsers other than the Internet
Explorer,
so I would simply mandate that all PMs and TMs need to use Internet Explorer for Project Server.
Just a thought. Hope this helps.)
from my side , i have tested it and it works perfect.

Help needed with identifying cause of Google Chrome crashes from a crash report
Hello,
I am trying to isolate a problem which is causing Google Chrome to crash. This is happening far too frequently - sometimes on opening, sometimes on web page loads and sometimes when viewing the preferences page.
I'm using a 2012 Mac Mini running OS X 10.8.4.
After many hours of trawling around the Internet and trying various suggestions, I am close to admitting defeat. Hopefully somebody here can save my sanity and point me towards a possible cause.
To date, these are some of the things that I have tried:
Replacing the 16GB of Crucial Ram with the stock Ram.
Logging in as a Guest user and opening Chrome.
Disabling all Chrome extensions (there are only 3 that I use anyway).
Uninstalling Chrome and all associated files that I could find, then reinstalling.
Booting into Safe Mode and loading Chrome.
None of these have made a difference. There have also been a couple of times when Firefox has crashed, too. Safari has been rock solid. Yes, I could just use Safari, but there are personal reasons why I need to use Chrome. I also need to locate this problem in case it is something that might effect other applications … or possibly even be a hardware problem.
Below is my most recent crash report. Frankly, it's contents are way outside of my comfort zone, so I am hoping that somebody will be able to help point me towards the relevant parts that might help me resolve this problem:

Problems printing from Google Chrome browser using my HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series printer
Dear Sir or Madam:
I am using Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3 desktop computer.
I have a HP Officejet 6500 E709n Series printer.
I am encountering some problems printing from my Google Chrome browser in my Outlook.com account because when I try to change some settings in the print dialog interface the printout comes out incorrectly.
Below are the 2 snapshots of the print dialog interface of Google Chrome browser before printing an email message from my Outlook.com account.
Are there any software updates to correct this problem?
Please reply back soon.
Thanks.
Sincerely,
EtowWelcome to the forums Etow,
I saw your post about the issue you are having with printing from Google Chrome. Have you tried disabling your pop up blocker to see if that will help? Also see this guide about Printing with Chrome.
If the above does not help, try using Firefox or Internet Explorer to print.
Have a great Friday

Dear All,
Firefox hangs when i try to play flash videos from any site but when i run firefox as administrator it works fine. (but Google Chrome, Opera & I.E9 Plays videos without running as administrator.) I am using Windows 7 & Firefox 7.0.1. Please help.A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I have a pretty new iMac with LOTS of storage (about 4TB with externals) that is experiencing a lot of "spinning balls of death" from time to time in almost any program that I might have open, but particularly MacMail, Google Chrome browsers, and Word. I took it to the Apple store to be checked out and it was really fast with no issues there. I brought it home and it was better at first but then it started happening again.
I have been having a lot of issues with Time Warner where my download speeds will dip really low, and all I can think of is that MacMail goes and tries to check for email and can't get out to the internet and it locks all the other resources up while it is doing it. It will also take a REALLY long time to even let you look at mail. The folder size is over 13GB (down from 22GB that I just cleared out from - I have a lot of MP3s etc in there) and I will try to get this down to under 10GB which might help, and the mail is on an external drive. I have been told that Verizon is not a shared network but a direct connection to their server, and if I can't fix this then I will try switching to them. If anyone has any direct knowledge on this stuff, I am all ears.We need to know more about your system, please download EtreCheck and run the report and please post it on your next reply. Then we can see how your system is configured, what apps are on it and look for anything obvious. We will look forward to seeing your report.

Manager keeps crashing - out of memory
I'm getting tired of restarting oc4j due to it running out of memory. It seems I can work in the manager for a day or two and it crashes. I've increased the MaxPermSize from 512 to 1024, but that still isn't working. I'm sure I'm not the only one run
