Scanning in photoshop elements 13

Hello,
Running iMac 21" - OSX Yosemite - pse13
Unable to scan in pse13- file.>import> option greyed out . unable to select scanner - please does anyone have any ideas? tried copying twain plugin into plugins folder.

Yes,I moved the actual ImportModules folder containing the twain plugin and restarted the imac.
with no joy:(

Scanning with Photoshop Elements 12

I recently updgaded from Elements 9 to Elements 12, but the Import pick is greyed out in the File menue in 12. I can still scan in 9 and my everything has been upgraded for OSX 10.9 (Mavericks). Where exactly should the Twain plug in reside to make it work?

I did this and restarted the computer but still nothing. I tried 9 afterword and it still works, but no doubt added these deleted paths back. I'm stumped. Sorry for being a nuisance. I don't suppose it should be this hard. Jumping around and fixing this and then that makes it difficult to know if something is being missed or still needs to be done and then there is the possible issue of accomplishing all this in a certain order.

You will want to go to your username>library>preferences and delete
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist

Also go to the Saved Application State folder in the library and delete anything related to PSE.

Trouble scanning with Photoshop elements 4.0, Software keeps quitting.

I'm using Photoshop elements as the scanner driver for my cannon flatbed scanner. I haven't used the scanner for a while. Now scans seem to take much longer and before I save, the program unexpectedly quits and I lose the images a waited forever to scan. At first I thought the problem was too little hard drive space, but the problem continues after freeing up more than enough space. I looked for software updates through the menu bar and didn't find any. Any suggestions?

Go to applications>Photoshop Elements 4.0>plug-ins>import/export and send the Adobe TWAIN driver to the trash (but don't empty it). If that helps and you don't have any trouble scanning, empty the trash.

Trouble scanning into Photoshop Elements 11 from Canoscan 8800F

Each time I scan several photos into Photoshop Elements 11 a few of the photos go to my selected file and one or more say they were not imported because they already exist in the APPData/Local/Temp/PSAlbumImport file. I then have to try to figure out how to get them transferred to my selected file. Why is this happening? It really slows down the scanning process and I'm sure this isn't how things are supposed to work.

I have not come across that problem. The only workaround I can suggest is to scan photos directly to a folder on you hard drive and then use the Organizer menu to import the images:
File >> Get Photos & Videos >> From Files & Folders

Scanning to photoshop elements from scanner

I seem to have misplaced my previous posting on same subject.
Although I can scan from PE 4.0 using my HP 8250 Scanner, I am unable to add
PE 4.0 to the Destination list of the scanner so that I can initiate a scan
to PE from the scanner buttons. I have spent several hours trying to scope
this out but information seems illusive. Can anybody help me add Photoshop
Elements 4.0 to the Destination list of the HP 8250 Scanner?

Thanks for the links. I will look at that. I have continued to try to scope this out myself since I posted the question. There is a learning curve involved here and I did find out a few things that I thought I would mention which might clarify this problem. It did for me, anyway. When one first installs the scanner and its software and then pushes the various scanner buttons, a small window comes up and asks which of the following programs do you want this button to activate. After selecting a program you then can click "do not show this again" button, which apparently I had done in the past. So I had forgotten and was unaware of that window..........but now know that Photoshop Elements does come up in that window and I could have chosen it to open when that button is pushed. When it does open Elements it doesn't do a scan automatically but the scanner does respond to the scanner options in Elements. Elements was not on my computer when I installed the scanner and so I chose to use the HP scanner software and also checked off "don't show this window again" and therefore when I press on the button the HP scanner software opens. Since I didn't remember that, my question had to do with the next step. After you use the HP software to automatically scan, when you accept the scan, another window opens to ask where you want the scan to go, and although the Adobe Photodeluxe program is listed along with Word, and several other programs, Photoshop elements is not listed there. So in effect, I can use the HP Software to do the scan and adjust resolution, etc, but then I can't send the accepted scan to Elements. That's what I was asking about. I did do an entire uninstall of the HP software and then manually removed any residue (HPSJ programs) and then did a full reinstall. That is how I found out about the button choice window which I did not remember from before. But when I did a scan using the HP software and then pushed the accepted button, the Destination list that came up again did not include Elements. Of course, there are workarounds such as saving the scan to a file and then opening it in Elements......or just going to elements and initiating the scan from there and I probably will end up doing one or the other.............just a matter of principle that Elements should be treated as equally as Photodeluxe and all the other programs already on the destination list. How can i get my Epson Premium XP-620 to scan into Photoshop Elements 13?

I am using Win 7 Pro 64bit operating system on an HP Computer. When I open Photoshop Elements 13 and under file I go to import and my XP-620 is not recognized. How do I get it to work with PSE?
Or is it something that Epson won't let us do?

Jim -- I checked all the settings, and in paper options, I found the culprit the paper size was not 13 x 19 but 8.5 x 11 -- for some reason, when I select a custom size in the print menu, I now need to go to paper size and make sure the change is there too. I didn't need to do this before now, but now I will. Thanks for reminding me to check the settings. ak

Can someone please help me with scanning with Photoshop elements 13?

I have been scanning pictures with no problem with Elements 13 but all the sudden any picture I try to scan it tells me "Nothing imported File or Folder to import did not contain any supported file type or file already exists in catalog." I know these pictures do not already exist because they are new to me. What do I need to do to correct this?

you won't be able to use cs5 unless you can show you own a qualifying product.

Where do I find scans into Photoshop elements 11

I scanned a photo into photoshop 11 but cannot find it. Where would it be?

Which operating system are you running on?
Did you use the Organizer or the Editor to scan in the image?
For the organizer, go to the Edit menu and select Preferences -> Scanner
There you should find where the image is saved.
For the Editor, you are asked for the destination so it is wherever you selected. Try doing it again to find the location.

Separating scanned photos Photoshop Elements 12

When I scan multiple photos and go to "images," "Divide Scanned Photos" is not highlighted and won't work. It worked for me a few days ago, so I must be doing something wrong. How can I correct this problem? Thanks.

Are you in the Expert mode?

Is scanning with Photoshop Elements 13 and windows 8.1 the most ignorant thing on the planet?

Using WIA and its moronic default settings is like going back to being a caveman.

Problem with start up Adobe Photoshop Elements 8

Tried to start up my Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 on my MacBook Pro running on Maverick 10.9.5 it would not startup and this message popped up!
Can anyone help?
I need to use my scanner for scanning and Photoshop Elements to merge the pix together (usually magazines or newspapers for my client's PR Reports).

I had my Mac rebooted with a roll back to an earlier setting of three weeks back. But I have been using the Photoshop Elements for ages. And it had been working fine even with Mavericks.
I gave since downloaded the license repair from Adobe, but I cannot get it to work, as when clicked on the installer app, a window pops up to say that the power pc is no less longer supported!
Am really stressed as I need to scan and Photomerge the mags and dailies for my clients.
Hope you can help me out.

How I Scan. Photoshop Elements 13 with the Twain interface Which file should be moved or copied. With element 11 everything was working properly. I work with Win. 8
