Scanning Negatives - File Size Error

I receive the error that follows while scanning negatives:
"Failed to obtain files from the device. The files size exceeds the maximum size allowed..."
What is PSE maximum size for scanned images.

Hi Dave,
This is quite strange. There is as such no limit to the size of the scanned image.
To isolate the problem, can you please try this?
1. Scan the negative using Windows Camera and Scanner Wizard.
2. Drag and drop the scanned image onto Organizer.
Do you still get the same error?
Thanks/Tarun

  • Scanned Image file size

I have some images that were sent to me via email. They are scanned as one image with multiple pictures on that one image. If I crop in photoshop and then import into fce, the images look fine even though they are 772 kb. Should I request that they rescan each one or do you think this size will be fine to be viewed on a tv for a slideshow presentation. What is the rule of thumb on this?
    Thanks, in advance.
    Susie Todd

It's just a question of size. If the cut apart images are large enough for you then don't bother. You don't want to have to scale them up. If you need to scale them up get them rescanned at a larger size.

  • How to set option in Scanning for Reduced File Size

I am scanning from a Fujitsu 6230 scanner in Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.4.1. My scanning options are Color, 300DPI,Letter, High Quality, with Optimization options of Custom Settings of JPEG for Color/Grayscale. The scanned files are very large...1852KB per page. After using the Reduce File Size option and selecting Acrobat 8 and later, the file size is reduced to 187K. Is there a way to preset the Acrobat 8 or later setting....rather than having to do the two-step?
Also, if I use Fujitsu's scanning interface I get far higher quality pdf's,  with small file sizes, and lower scanning resolution......but without the option to append to a pdf, an option I use frequently. Apparently their program for converting the scanned image to a pdf is more robust than Adobe's. Is there a way to use their image->pdf engine within Acrobat?

    Hi Boatseller,
I will put this in simple way.
Can we set properties in biztalk wcf_custom adaptor like
    1. <security authenticationMode="UserNameOverTransport"
    2. enableUnsecuredResponse="True"
    or
     includeTimestamp="false"
    3. <textMessageEncoding
    messageVersion="Soap11"/>
    <httpsTransport/>
I am unable to find these properties in BizTalk wcf_custom adaptor properties. It will be great help if you could guide me in right direction . My problem is to receive response message into orchestration which is not having header. But the response is coming
from web service. I saw that in fiddler.
Also, If there is any steps to make these properties available in machine config, please share
    Thanks in advance

  • AS2 decryption error on file sizes greater than 5MB.

We have a client who is not using biztalk but transmitting files to us via AS2. The AS2 file transmission occurs seamlessly when the file size is below 5MB, but Biztalk AS2 decoder fails to decrypt when file size exceeds 5MB. After searching the forums,
I learned that this is a known issue and there is a  hot fix available to fix that issue. I wanted to replicate the same issue in my test environment so that i can apply the hot fix in that environment and make sure nothing breaks. I replicated the AS2
setup in 2 biztalk test machines . I used one machine as partner A and the other as partner B, then transmitted AS2 files from partner A to partner B. I sent  files with sizes 2MB, 5MB, 15MB, and 50MB, but partner B received all the decrypted files successfully.
Production servers and test servers have biztalk 2010 installed.
In conclusion, the decryption issue is occurring in production machine only, and I am unable to replicate that issue in our test servers. I am scared to apply the hot fix or CU5 directly in production. Please advise if there is something else i am missing.
    Thank you.

First, make sure CU5 wasn't unintentionally applied by Windows Update to your test config.
Second, either way, a valid strategy would be to apply CU5 as a normal patch, meaning DEV->TEST->UAT->PROD (or whatever your promotion path is).  That way, you'll test for any breaking changes anyway and if the AS/2 issues isn't fixed, well,
    you really no worse off.

  • How do I scan large black and white documents, creating the smallest file size possible?

I am attempting to scan a 70 page document and prefer it to be a file small enough to send through regular email.  I am not interested in zipfiles, i am not familiar with them.  I have been scanning and converting to .pdf for years, using the lowest dpi reasonable, but my file sizes are still quite large (compared to other .pdf's that are emailed to me).  I know there is a way, just haven't figured it out.

  • Image Capture - How do I reduce file size of scan document?

I am using image scan. I scan the file (about 7 pages) and it comes to 16.8M. I cannot email it at that file size. How do I get the scan to be less detailed or so to allow me to email it? I tried messing with DPI, etc... that didnt work.
When I went into Finder to compress it to a .zip the file size did not change.
The person on the other end cannot receive files >10M.
    Thanks
    Nick

I figured it out if anyone needs it in the future. In the details section there are 3 ways to scan. Text, Color or Black and White. Choose text and increase DPI a tad and it made file size 194K.

  • "Content generation error. The article exceeds maximum file size limit"

We are building a single edition app for our univesity's literary and arts magazine and have no problem previewing it through the adobe viewer app, but when we try to create a folio so we can begin the App Store process, we keep getting this pesky error. It refuses to export a folio.
The links folder associated with the indesign file totals 474mb.
The folder containing all the Indesign files associated with the app is 537mb.
So how are we exceeding the 1gb file size?
    Details:
115 pages within a single article (we converted from the print edition, rather than placing each piece into an article of toys own. Is that a problem?).
All images (about 50) are png files of under 1mb and the videos have been exported to mp4 (total 370mb of video--do we need to switch to streaming?)
Every page has a button linking back to the home screen. And at least one, and sometimes two, MSOs (to full-screen an image or to pop up the author's bio.
3 mp3 audio pieces are insignificant in size.
We removed extraneous states from the MSOs.
Our PNG files are sized to a maximum width of 2048px.
The .indd file itself is 58mb
No HTML overlays, but we do have 5 or 6 hyperlinks that launch the browser.
Any guesses why we are unable to generate a folio with this article?
Is there a way to audit our project to see what the problem is?
We've scoured these forums and applied the advice that seemed pertinent , so your patience and recommendations would be a great help.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.
We watched Adobe's tutorial videos and read the guides on Adobe's site before starting our project (a first app for our lit-mag), and never found the kind of overview that would have made the built-in functionality of the Folio system evident. Are there beginner videos you recommend we screen for the editorial board next year? It has been a great learning process for us this summer, but one involving many errors along the way.
It seems like it won't be difficult to break up the journal into "articles," but in order to make the TOC work correctly it really is a one piece to a page thing (none of our pieces extends beyond one screen because we used scrollable overlays). Do you think we'll run into trouble with 100+ articles in our folio?
Thanks again for taking the time to respond!

  • PDF Files Size after Scan

I have a Canon MX892 (made for personal use) all in one printer in my home, when I scanned a 21 page document it turned out to be 14 meg in size.  I scanned this same document from my office which has Konica C54 all in one printer (made for business use) and the file size was 6 meg.
Is there any way that I can reduce the size of files that I scan at home?  I have Adobe Acrobat XI Pro and tried saving it "optimized" and it only reduced the file from 14 meg to 13 meg.
I would appreciate any advice you might have.

    Hi gold154,
You might also try Acrobat XI Pro's specific feature for optimizing scanned documents. This often reduces the file size on my scanned files.
