Scanning Nightmare with Mountain Lion... can it really be this way?

I am running mountain lion and scanning from my HP 8600 Pro E using the built in Mountain Lion scanning software.
Here is my issue, if I scan multiples pages and do not have the "Combine PDF" checkbox marked each page is created as a PDF. If i do check it, it combines the current scan AND the previous scan.
My only work around is to delete a scan before scanning a new set of pages.
Seems like an obvious bug, what am I doing wrong? How can it be that I cannot scan multiple pages without a headache?
If you can shed some light on this i'd be soooo appreciative, have a good gift for the best answer!

Why dont you use the HP Scan application? It will allow scanning multiple pages from the document feeder in a single click, OCR capabilities, scanning from the printer front panel, etc.
You may find the software below, be sure to select HP Recommended Software during the installation screens:

If you just do a normal time machine backup on your macbook pro and then plug that harddrive into your new air; you should be able to just use migration assistant to transfer all your files. You wouldnt need to upgrade to mountain lion on your macbook pro.

You can, but there is a high risk of leaving OS X in your new Mac unusable. This is because Migration Assistant will detect that your new Mac has got preinstalled apps with an older version than the ones you have in the "old" Mac, and it will try to replace them. However, the new apps versions are designed for Yosemite, so you will not be able to open any application.
Because of that, I recommend you to set up the new Mac without transferring your data, and upgrade it to Yosemite. Then, use Migration Assistant to transfer your files.

MB Pro Retina with Mountain Lion can't wake up.

After I installed Mountain Lion, now my NEW MacBook PRo Retina gives me a hard time to wake up after it goes to sleep. Right now I know it has a solid battery charge, went to get some coffee, it fell asleep and anything I do doesn't wake it up. I press the power button, slide my finger over the pad, close and open the lid again. This is not the first time, yesterday had a solid 15 min, doing things to wake it up but today seems it really went to hypersleep. I was in love with my new laptop with Lion, now this upgrade has taken the joy from me.

Ok I think I found the issue. After reading a post on a blog reporting that there was an issue with the bluetooth trying to wake up the computer and people recommending to turn it off, I just tried as i left my office where i have my keyboard and magicpad working thru wireless. Before closing my latop, i went ahead and turn off bluetooth. I got home, open my latop and this time, no problem, it turned on like a charm as it used to. So it is a mountain lion issue as i didn't experience this before. This is obviously a short tems solution while waiting on Apple to realease a fix for it.

Have scanning issues with mountain lion OS

Have two HP Officejet Pro 8600's one at home office and one at buisness office. Home office is hardwired to a imac running OS X 10.6.8, no problem with printer software can use all options even all options are available on my Macbook Pro running OS X 10.8.3.
However, at biz office the HP 8600 is hardwired to a Dell PC. I bring my macbook pro to the office, use HP 8600 wirelessly. I do not have the "Scan to Computer" option on my HP Utility application.
I have called HP and they tell me its Apple's issue. Also what is upsetting is that Apple sells these printers on their store but running the latest OS X is not giving me the "scan to computer" option. I need this as I use this everyday for work!
I am looking to upgrade the imac at home but scared because my new printer probably will not work completely like I need it to.
I don't know if this is a Apple issue or an HP issue. I will say the HP 8600's are playing nice with the PC's in my life so........

You'd have to check with the developer of the NTFS-3G product you installed.
But, I think you can just right-click on the preference pane in System Preferences and choose Remove.
Note that removing it will prevent you from writing to NTFS (Windows) volumes.

Not tried it myself, but I've read on here that you'll need to phone the Apple Store to get a redemption code that will then allow you to buy it.

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''

You could also try using the Image Capture application to scan.
If you are using MP Navigator then you may need to update it to a later version.

Have you tried starting in Safe Mode and see if the slowness still occurs?
Restart holding the "shift" key.
(Expect it to take longer to start this way because it runs a directory check first.)
If this works look in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login items and delete any third party login items (-), you can always add them back with the (+). Also look in /Library/Startup Items. Nothing is put in that folder by default, so anything in there is yours.
Reboot normally and test.
