Scanning via Bluetooth

After initially installing my new HP Photosmart C309g-m All-In-One printer via the installer (through USB) on the HP website, I had no success connection to it via Bluetooth after installation.
After stumbling across a few articles on here I found Snow Leopard has got it pre-installed, I uninstalled and installed using the Snow Leopard Add Printer/Fax. It installed it on bluetooth no problem.
Printing works fine!
However, the bluetooth connection will not let me scan? The old USB connection has a 'Print' and 'Scan' tab at the top of the Print & Fax page in system preferences. The Bluetooth connection only has the information regarding printing?
Is there a way to enable scanning via bluetooth? A few other questions on here have been asked about similar topics, but I had no success.
Any help welcome!
Chris

Is this supported in Windows? I doubt this is possible in Mac OS X. The relevant BIP profiles are missing in Mac OS X.

Hi. I have connected my device via bluettoth using the latest dirivers, and can print fine. I can however not scan as the device displays on its LCD display that my USB cable is not connected. I tried to innitiate it from the PC and from the printer and cannot get it to work. Please advise, as I am using OS X 10.4.5 on a brand new Imac Intel 20".

  • I want to pair my iPhone 3GS (OS 3.1) with my iMac via Bluetooth

I am a bit disappointed that Bluetooth doesn't seem to be very mature in the iPhone. But maybe I'm just clueless as to how to get it working, and, once it's working, it will be good.
My problem is that I can't even discover my iPhone (I have scanned using my iMac with the Bluetooth Setup Assistant app as well as with my other phone, a Samsung SGH-X680). Actually, I was able to discover it once with my iMac and then proceeded with the pairing process. The assistant displayed a sequence of digits in large font and said that I should make sure that same number appears on the iPhone. But nothing happened on the iPhone, it seemed oblivious.
My iPhone's Bluetooth settings are "ON" and it says "Now Discoverable". It also seems to be unable to discover any other devices (like my other phone and the iMac, which both have Bluetooth enabled and are set to be discoverable), it will just say "Searching…" for minutes on end without finding anything.
Please let me know what, if any, options there are that will let me exchange files between my computer and my iPhone via Bluetooth. (I am aware that I can exchange files via USB cable.)
    Thanks.

Thank you for the clarification. I find it very stupid that I can't transfer files with Bluetooth. I hope a future software update will add Bluetooth file sharing.

  • Help! Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470

Trying to print emails w/PDF attachments via bluetooth from 8300 to HP OfficeJet8470.
My boss shopped for and picked this phone based on the store staff.  He wants to be able to have our service tech be able to receive work orders via email, in the form of a pdf attachment, and be able to print using the bluetooth enabled HP Office Jet 8470, hardware that was sold to him in another store with the statements that it would work with his application.
Everything I have seen on this site, and the lack of information elsewhere, leads me to question if we have the correct applications/hardware at all...
If so, I need to be able to explain clearly to my boss any options that we have, and why or why not it won't work.
Any ideas at all?  Thanks in advance~    Reagan

Your BlackBerry alone won't connect to a Bluetooth printer. Whoever told him that it would should be questioned.
However, there is an application called BeamSuite, that offers a printing solution specifically for PDF documens that you should explore...
Print Documents to a Bluetooth Enabled Printer
    http://www.slgmobile.com/beamsuite.html
BeamSuite is much more than a document viewer though. You can also print your documents directly from your BlackBerry to any Bluetooth enabled printer. Simply pair your BlackBerry device with the printer and print your documents.
If your printer is not Bluetooth enabled, you can still print your documents to it by connecting a Bluetooth printer adapter to your printer that connects to the printer’s USB port. A key differentiator of our solution is that it allows you to easily and transparently print to over 1500 compatible printers from virtually any BlackBerry device, not just the latest and the most powerful BlackBerry.

  • Not able to receive data via bluetooth: curve 8520

hi guys..i have bb curve 8520. i m nt able to receive data from other mobiles or pc via bluetooth. the mobiles & system can be paired with my BB but i cannt receive data from others. also it gives error message FILE TRANSFER SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
    See this KB:
KB05409 Transfer a file using Bluetooth technology between two BlackBerry smartphones
If your other device is non-BB, then substitute, in the KB, the appropriate instructions for your other device. Unless you are on BB OS 6 or 7, do not skip the "Receive Using BlueTooth" step on the receiving BB...nothing will transfer if you do.
Good luck and let us know!

  • How to be notified when someone scan my bluetooth?

I would like to write an application that will notify me once my iphone is being scanned via the bluetooth protocol, how can this be done?

iOS talks to BT - your app talks to iOS.

  • Texting via bluetooth?

i remember hearing about using bluetooth compatible devices to text strangers or people you'd like to meet...is that possible and if so, how do you do it from a bluetooth computer?

This was known as 'bluejacking' and was a short-lived 'craze'. It originated on the Esato.com forum in a thread here:
    I did something naughty today!
It just involved sending messages saved in Contacts fields from the address book of your phone via Bluetooth.
In a busy location, you could do a bluetooth scan for other devices (with bluetooth turned on) in a 10m radius, then send the Contact to the phone. The recipient would get an anonymouse Contact appear on their phone with the name fields containing the message you previously entered.
Doing this from your computer would be pretty useless as you're limited to sending to other devices which are nearby (within 10m), and unless you like carrying around and using your laptop in busy locations, is quite impractical. Better to just do it from your phone.

  • Trouble transferring photos via bluetooth

i bought a blackberry 9320 as normally i am use to nokia. thought nice little phone compared to seeing the 8520 curve someone i knew had. the phone links up with to my computer and shows on the phone its connected, but the blackberry desktop software version 7 does not find the phone even though it is connected in windows. my laptop has windows 7 home premium on it. any help to get this working via bluetooth would be so great. thanks in advance

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Well, first off, why bother with the Desktop Software for the file transfer? Why not just use Mass Storage Mode?
KB11879 What is mass storage mode
As for using the Desktop Software via BT, see this:
KB23386 How to copy files to BlackBerry smartphone from a computer
KB22387 BlackBerry Desktop Software does not detect a BlackBerry smartphone when the first-time connection is by Bluetooth
There may be other applicable KBs...searching there might be useful for you.
    Good luck!

  • Cannot locate image via Bluetooth

After taking a photo on my Nokia E63 and renaming it on the phone (to make for easier identification & retrieval), I connected my handset to my PC via Bluetooth, but I cannot locate the image on my phone or my memory card. It's the only image that I've stored on my handset that I cannot locate via Bluetooth.
Is there any reason why this may've occurred?

Given that, the only thing we can think of to give you is the generic procedure for transferring files to/from a BB:

Maybe that'll provide you with what you need. Hopefully. Maybe. Can't tell...

  • Direct Device Switch between 8330 units via Bluetooth

Is there a way to move all device configuration settings, applications, etc. directly from one 8830 to another via Bluetooth ?
I have an 'old' 8830 with something broken (physically) in the USB connector, so I cannot connect it to my laptop & despite my best efforts, I can't seem to get the Desktop Manager to recognize it through Bluetooth (even though it does pair properly) so that I can use the Device Switch Wizard.
I have a the replacement 8830 & just want to 'clone' my first one onto it and return the old one.
Have got the two 8830s paired, but there is no clear equivalent to the Device Switch Wizard for a direct device to device connection.
    Any help greatly appreciated.
    Cheers. Patio.

I don't believe you can. However, if you have the BBs paired to the PC, just sync to Outlook and resync back to the new device. That you can do.

How can I send stuff from one iPhone to another via Bluetooth?

There are some apps that will let you send photos from one iOS device to another over BT.

I wear hearing aids that are made for Apple, the audio will go into the hearing aids via Bluetooth. I'll need to use my phone for voice only.. I drive for work and have a wok oh one too and both are synced to a bluetooh headset (LG). I'm trying to figure out how to talk on both phones ( use speakerphone on work phone?) without using a bluretooh headset.  I don't know the range of the microphone on the IPHON, thinking about hanging it around my neck or put the phone into a stand/holder on the dash and use the speakerphone feature.  Looking for ideas to make this simple

You can't do anything with that problem.
Take your iPhone to the closest Apple Store and they will give you new one for 200€/$ or if you bought your iPhone in less than 12 months you will get it for free.

I looked at the same sight for that and it does not say that.  This is the first time I have posted a question, you don't have to be mean about it.  I am trying to get this to work for a good cause.
It may be the best source of assistance is the manufacturer of the device. I suspect you will need a specific app for the iPhone to get it to work, but the site is rather ambiguous about that.
