Scanning view is always 50% zoom.

Hello all,
I am using Adobe Acrobat 11 Professional.  I am using the "Create PDF - From Scanner" feature and am wondering if there is a way to set the zoom percent of the scanned image to something higher than 50%?  As it stands now, when I perform a scan and the output of the scanned image is displayed within Adobe Acrobat it shows a small version of the document as the zoom level is set to 50%.  I have played with the zoom options in the toolbar above the scanned image but they are only applied for that specific viewing.  If I close the document and scan again it reverts back to 50%.  Some areas that I have found and modified in trying to remedy this are as follows:
Edit - Preferences - Accessibility - Override Page Display - Always use Zoom Setting. I set that to fit width and 100% but have found that this is only useful for a document that you are opening that has a custom zoom size predefined in its properties.
I've also right clicked the scanned document itself (while still in the Adobe Acrobat window and prior to saving) and selected properties at which point I can manipulate some zoom settings but it appears that is only for the specific document once it has been saved.
I've also gone to Edit - Preferences - Page Display - Default Layout and Zoom and I've changed the Zoom setting from Automatic to different settings but when I scan Adobe Acrobat puts the zoom percent to 50%.
While it is easy enough to simply click the "Fit Width" button to the right of the zoom percent or even change the zoom percent by clicking the drop-down it would be nice if I could change a setting and have all of my scans automatically be displayed to me at 100% or fit to the width of the viewable area within the Acrobat program.
It appears that Adobe has given the capability to change the zoom percent in many different areas but I am unable to find where to modify this zoom percent or zoom setting for scans.
Thank you in advance for any information that you may be able to provide, it will be greatly appreciated.

I am facing the same problem.  Have you figured out a solution?

  • How to setup a 'duplicate/mirror view' with a different zoom level?

    Hi Photoshop Gurus,
I constantly keep zooming in and out of the same images. It drives me crazy to view it at normal zoom level and zoom back into deep pixels.
Is there a way so that I have a duplicate floating window/view that shows realtime editing of an image at a different zoom level? (Think of it like a display mirroring, but, I am trying to mirror the same document at a normal zoom level).
    This is my scenario:
    - I usually work with small images/icons.
    - I zoom deeply into an image at pixel level ~3000%.
    - Change some pixels and do editing
    - Zoom back out to 100% to view how it looks normally.
    - Repeat and repeat.
Can I always have a 100% zoomed view along side the same document?
    Thanks for your help.

The navigator palette is just another document view.  Open it, put it where you want, resize it, and you can use it to control (and see) what part of the docuemnt your zoomed in view is showing.

  • Cropping to View or Cropping to Zoom Level

Just wondering if this is already an option and I just can't find it... I work with very large images, and having a television background, I am always looking for the Wide/Medium/Tight shots - for example, getting three different shots from the originals. When I am zooming in to make corrections or retouch, I find myself saying "Now THAT would make a GREAT image cropped exactly where it is". Instead of dragging out the Crop Tool and risk the image "moving" from the exact zoom level or view I have it at, is there a way to "CROP TO VIEW" or "CROP TO ZOOM LEVEL" with just one click that I am missing, or should this go to the Photoship Wish List? Thanks, all!

As far as I can tell that’s currently not possible, so unless someone else has more insight here you might want to post in the Feature Request Forum.
While the zoom-level is accessible for Scripting purposes the image’s position in the window is not (to the best of my knowledge).

  • I need to SET a SET % that ALL sites ALWAYS show @ zoom level. how do i do that? my little D620 Dell screen needs that else i cannot use many sites

simple. small screen laptop, must pre set a % zoom as a DEFAULT to not have to constantly frickn' choose a % like some thing lesssss than 100% every single time i go to any site.
how do you pre select a set STATIC always going to be, % for all sites. of course, still must be able to change setting if/when i want, that won't stop being possible i realize.

mmm. 1st off, now i can't use my computer AT ALL. it made the whole screen fill with huge print on a TINY Dell laptop, your idea was 180degrees wrong.
    frick
i am at the public library now, since i have NO computer, i did until i installed your fix/the firefox techy fix. not.
i have a little screen. and the issue is simple, most programs and sites i view, are too large, so i am always setting to 67% or 80%, it's a hassle. i wanted, obviously doesn't exist, a way to preset it, to always go to 80%, always. that'll work on my screen since i am forever every site, every day, manually setting to 80% or sometimes 67%, just to be able to view and use.
now, your idea, too huge and worse, i used to have another appl. from firefox, which helped some/it showed a EASY drop down, upper right corner, to select right from there, without going in to firefox, a drop down choice i make of a %, was not great but helped.
with the download of your horrible idea, horrible, i lost that drop down and now have no way to undo what your appl. caused, a hugeeee filled screen, unable to view a thing
and, i am LOCKED OUT OF FIREFOX. WHEN I CLICK ON THE 3 BARS UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER WHICH IS HOW I GET TO FIREFOX TO LOOK AT ADDONS OR FIX SOMETHING OR ASK FOR HELP, I CANT.
SOMEHOW YOUR FILL THE SCREEN APPL. ALSO LOCKED ME OUT OF ANY WAY TO GET IN TO FIREFOX.
SO SCREEN FILLED LOCKED OUT OF FIREFOX, AND NO WAY TO COMPUTE AND AT THE PUBLIC LIBRARY. WHY I TOOK YOUR IDEA AND RAN WITH IT, I DO NOT KNOW.
APPARENTLY, THERE IS NO WAY TO PRE SET FOR EVERY SINGLE SITE EVERY TIME, TO GO TO A % i set, like 80%, AND STILL ALSOOOOOOO KEEP THE PRODUCT I HAD AND LOST, UPPER RIGHT CORNER, WHRE I CAN EASILY AND SIMPLY IF AND WHEN I MUST, DROP DOWN A CHOICE TO GO TO 100% or 80% OR 67% depending on what i need for that site.
how do i undo the horrible appl add on this default 100% GARBAGE? AND HOW DO I UNLOCK FIREFOX YOUR ADD ON CAUSED, AND AGAIN GAIN ACCESS TO FIREFOX TO MAKE SETTINGS AND CHANGE SETTING AND GET HELP?

  • "always open in icon view" is ALWAYS on.I've

I've just reinstalled leopard on my imac as i felt it had built up with rubbish and was slowing things down, anyway.....
When i now open my Macintosh HD, it always appears in icon view. I click show view options, deselect "always open in icon view" which then changes to "always open in column view"(which is what i want) and close the view options. Then once i restart my mac, its changed back to open in icon view.
Now, i've researched the fact and i see that people have had the same trouble but all the things they suggest don't work for me.
I've trashed DS_Store files, finder preferences, and its still not working for me.
its just annoying to have to keep changing the view i want ALL the time. Its not exactly asking for the world, and it does as it should on my macbook, so i know its possible, i just want it to work on my imac!
Does anyone have any ideas of what to try?

Welcome to the Most...Annoying...Finder...Bug...Ever. Trashing .DS_Store files doesn't fix this because the Leopard Finder doesn't rely on these files any more for the view style. For the technically-minded, here is a breakdown of the binary format of the .DS_Store file.
Where this bug gets really annoying is if you have multiple folders inside a higher level folder and you open the top-most folder in a certain view style, every folder below that one that you open will open in the same view as the top-most folder AND if you then close that folder and open...say the Macintosh HD icon, it switches that to the view of the folder that you just closed -seemingly at random!
Then there's this little gem -see if you have this one. Create a folder on your desktop. Create some folders inside the one you just created -they can be empty for this excercise. Now open one of them and leave it open. Now, go back the top level folder and delete, 'Opt-Delete', the folder that you just opened. The folder will be moved to the Trash and...wait for it...the window of the folder that you just moved to the Trash now displays the contents of the window that it was deleted from! That's right. Two folders open at the same time displaying the same contents. That's not supposed to happen.
Then there's the bit where the files on the desktop refuse to be placed in a different location from the one where they were originally created or they arrange themselves on the right hand side of the Desktop in name order. If you move them and reboot or logout and login again, the files are right back where the were first created. It is even stranger in that if you delete a file or folder from the Desktop then reboot or logout and login again, then recreate the file in a different location on the Desktop, but with the exact same name, on the next reboot or logout and login, the file is right back where the original one was deleted from. Very strange.
Somewhere I read a post that said if you turned on the invisible files setting for the Finder and then turned it off again that the problem disappeared. I tried that with no positive results. So the mystery continues.

  • Why is 100% scanned image not = to 100% zoom in CS5??

Using OS X 10.6.7 and CS5 Extended: I am having full size patterns scanned by a reprographics company as tif files. On average the full size patterns will be from 40" to 60" (100%). Yet when I open them with CS5 and zoom to 100 % in order to 'clean up' the designs on the pattern, the image is way larger than the hard copy pattern - more like 500%. I've noticed in one instance that zooming to 33% is closer to actual size. The image file from the full size scan opens as 2% .tif(Bitmap). How is it that 33% zoom gives me closer to actual (scanned image) than the 100% that I would expect? Thanks to anyone who can help clear this up for me.

100% means actual pixels, not actual size of the item being scanned. If your monitor displays  100 pixels per inch an image scanned at 300 ppi will look three times larger than actual at 100%.
    thanks to MBlackburn.

  • AppleScript or Terminal Control for "View Options"/"Always open in ... view

    Greetings, folks!
I have not been able to figure out how to script (or, even better, a Terminal command line) control of the "Always open in (name of view) view" checkbox in the “View Options” panel for LARGE numbers of windows; I prefer not to use GUI scripting, it takes too long.
I do not EVER want that box unchecked and do not want to have to manually check many thousands of folder’s checkboxes. As soon as I can figure this out, I will set every folder on my hard drives to always open in list view and write a script such that any folder created will automatically be set to always open in list view.
AppleScript can set every attribute value in a window, except the "Always open in (name of view) view" checkbox.
I have always expected that the data would be stored in the “.DS_Store” file, but, AFAICT it is not; changing the value for a “.DS_Store” file, logging out and back in, and then re-opening it in HexEdit or BBEdit showed the pre-change and post-change files to be identical.
    Thoughts?
    Thanks!!

Additional info, in case anyone is running into this issue...
If I do the following with the "root level" of the disk image, I can set the "Always Open in List View" option.
    1. Open the "root level" view of the disk image - for me, it always opens in icon view. Then, select "Show View Options" from the View menu.
    2. Check the "Always Open in Icon View" box. While leaving this dialog open, select "as List" from the View menu.
    3. Uncheck the "Always Open in Icon View" box. It will instantly turn into "Always Open In List View". Recheck this box immediately, then close dialog. This will make the setting stick.
I've been able to repeat this situation several times. I might be wrong, but it sure acts like a small bug to me. Hope this helps anyone else who might have encountered this issue.

  • Help Viewer Window - always in front?

Is there a way to get the Help Viewer Window so that it is not always in front in OS 10.6.2?

They stay in front because most people want to view the information while working on something. It's hard to follow a list of instructions when you constantly have to pull the viewer to the front each time.
It would appear that iTweaX option for the viewer does not work. Mac Pilot does not have the configuration. I've checked several other utilities none of which support the option for SL. I guess the option worked in Leo but does not work in SL.

  • UIScrollView - zooming a view hierarchy and resetting zoom

    Hi,
I want to reset zooming in scrollViewDidEndZooming - meaning:
    - during zooming the zoom view content is changing as expected
    - as soon as the user has finished zooming, the zoom view content should resize to what it was before
So in scrollViewDidEndZooming I resize the frame of my content view UIImageView:
    - (void)scrollViewDidEndZooming:(UIScrollView *)scrollView withView:(UIView *)view atScale:(float)scale {
    CGRect rectMask = view.orgFrame;
    view.frame = rectMask;
...which works fine for the content view itself BUT NOT for its children which I added to it via addSubview.
Why are the subviews zooming correctly during the user interaction but not reacting to the frame-reset?

    1. System Preferences/Universal Access: there you can turn on Zoom, which you can operate with the scroll wheel of your mouse.
    2. The Spellchecker uses whatever language you have selected for the system. Again, go to System Preferences/International/Language and do as it suggests: drag British English to the top.

  • Image viewer with a selective zoom.

Well, I've been looking for an image viewer where you can select where on the image you want to zoom into.
For example. Say you download hotchick.png and you don't like her face, but want to zoom into the rest. You could select where you want to zoom into. Think of GIMPs rectangle select tool.

I've tried every image viewer I could find and none of them have this feature, seriously? It's such a basic feature..

    Sorry,I can't use English well.

    Sorry for my late update:
cor-el, thanks for your suggestions, I've just tried with safe mode(by starting FF with "shift" held down), but things still don't work well. However, I did get some findings:
    * In either Safe or normal mode, when only 1 window of multiple tabs: if close window via "X" or "File"->"Exit", then no prompt.
    * In either Safe or normal mode, when 2 windows of multiple tabs:
    * * If close either window via "X", then it shows prompt :-)
    * * If close either window via "File"->"Exit", still no prompt.
In all, 2 FF windows seem to work well for "X" button.
I didn't try w/ more windows open, maybe same as 2 windows I guess.
jscher2000, thanks for your sharing, too. It reminded me that the 2 closing methods are really different.
Guys, looking fwd to more of your expertise sharing!

  • Neither mouseover/hover nor click on Photos/Year view shows image preview zoom. Am I missing something?

I have seen video reviews of a cursor hover working, and Apple's Photos website says to click on a thumbnail to show a zoomed preview. Neither method is working to show previews of a tiny Year view photo. If I click, the entire view enlarges, not just the individual photo.
I apparently converted my library to Photos from iPhoto on the last update. Not a lot of warning there. I have chosen to save images on my iMac, and to share across devices in iCloud. I have paid my fee to get the proper amount of storage in iCloud. I have begun the process of uploading my 30,000+ photo library to iCloud. It is chugging all my network resources, so have occasionally paused that process. ~25,000 to go.
The only Photos/Preferences/General setting I believe I have changed is to uncheck "summarize photos" to see all the photos in a given year.
I am using the Apple trackpad.
Do I need to wait for something magical to happen or is there a setting or something else I need to do to see zoom previews by moving cursor over them?

Clicking and holding down on a tiny thumbnail for a moment will show a small preview, but once I release the holding down, the view changes to Moments, and no direct way back.
That is not a very efficient workflow.  I am seeing this with "Summarise" disabled.

    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.2.4.
Is there a way to programmatically invoke the "Zoom to Fit" action?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
looking at the JavaDocs it seems that the behavior is a client side behavior and not available as a Java API. This said it seems that you cannot programmatically invoke it
