Scanning with Snow Leopard

HP Scanner will not initialise with Snow Leopard using iMac or MacBook Pro.
A work around has been found.
Insert a memory stick into the front of the all-in-one HP. I used a 64MB in the MS/DUO slot.
Press scan menu. Select the option--Scan To Memory Card.
Printer should already be connected via USB to the computer.
This should open iPhotos on the computer.
Once the scan is complete, select Import All on the bottom right of iPhotos.
After that the option becomes available to email. Select full size.
The computer then opens client email with the scanned image prepared to email.
Note: Printer function is not affected with the upgrade to Snow Leopard; it is just the scanner which will not initialise.

Thanks. Since it isn't listed at http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10216682#10216682 your work-around might be the only option until it gets included. You might post a query to that thread WRT to the C4100 series machines. The new HP Scan app that comes with my C4200 series machine works.
