When I scan or fax documents there are several pages mising, the page count is correct but in the preview they are missing. Please Help. Also when I scan threw document feeder pages are skipped. HP DESKJET PRO 8610
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software and I am still haveing problems. I ran the scan doctor program with no luck.

Web pages are missing their default scrollbars - help

Web pages are missing their scroll bars.
To be clear — I can create scroll bars for any element
within a page — no problem.
It’s that each pg itself which by default should come with its own scrollbars has none.
So if a viewer can’t see the entire page the viewer has no means to
horizontally or vertically scroll to see the off-screen portion of the page.
I’ve talk to the adobe tech support about the scroll-less pages.
They said the problem is beyond their expertise and lies in the code itself.
They advised me to reach across this platform for the answer.
The problem is consistent on all browsers.
I ran the pages thru Dreamweaver’s browsers’ lab. Pages varied slightly with each
Browsers, on the whole looked good. BUT a portion of the image on the right side
was cut off and the scrollbars were not available on the Adobe Browsers Test Lab page.
No errors were found when run thru Dreamweaver’s Browser Compatibility.
I reviewed the code but I have no idea what I’m looking for.

For others out there with the same problem:
1. Delete the book from you iBook library ( click on "edit" and touch the icon of the book you want to delete).
2. I power down my iPad just to remove all traces, but thats up to you. Then repower up your iPad.
3. Click on the Apps icon and check for updates. Despite my recent update of the iOS for iPad 1, the iBooks did not update for me. This has to be done separately.
4. Once you have updated your iBooks app, sign in to your iBooks account where you should find the book that you purchased. If you just bought the book you might have to wait an hour or two for the account to update.
5. Download the book from you iBooks account. You should have a complete version now. If not, contact the Apple Help to report a problem.

Restore from previous backup, be sure use the same iTunes and account you used to store your stuff into your device.

I am forced to hold shift and refresh the page on 99% of the sites I visit. How do I fix this from happening? If I don't the pages are missing style sheets and etc.

When ever I go to sites they half load or are missing style sheets. If I view the source for the page and click on a style sheet link I get the following error:
Content Encoding Error
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because it uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression.
If I hold shift and refresh the page loads as normal.

It sounds like your issue here is that iTunes can not find the files for some of the songs you have brought into it. This happens occasionally even if the songs have not been moved from the location that iTunes places them on import or purchase. When you try to use the song, iTunes prompts you to find the file, as you have seen.
To find the file, use the information in this article to navigate through the iTunes media folders -

If you are still unable to locate the files, you may need to download them from the iTunes store again, or rip them from your CDs. See this article for assistance with downloading your past purchases -

Scanned to PDF, but pages are blank

Hardware
- iMac 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
- Scanner Brother MFC-J6910DW
Software
- Mac OS X 10.7.2
Using Preferences>Print & Scan>Open Scanner; settings:
- Scan Mode: Document Feeder
- Kind: Black & White
- Resolution: 200dpi
- Size: A4/A3
- Duplex
- Format: PDF
- 'Combine into single document': checked
- Image Correction: None
When I scan and combine around >100 pages. I open the file in both Preview and Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 and discover that most of the pages, except for about 20 at the end of the document, are white with a grey PDF logo box in the middle.
Have I lost all that I have just scanned or are they still there but not showing?
Are my settings to blame, and if so, what should I change to ensure this does not happen for future scans (i.e 300dpi or higher?).

Just an update:
Forgot to say, I was saving the scans direct to a server.
I found that if I saved the scan to my computers desktop, I don't lose data no matter how large the file becomes.
I have a 1000+ document and all the pages are there with the above settings.
Also, my computer would request I update my brother software, automatically download, but never finish.
I was able to download the drivers manually here.

Exp/imp, but packages are missing

Hi there,
exported everything from a schema in a O8 database into a dump file using the exp command. Afterwards I tried to import the schema into my local O10 XE database. Tables, Triggers and so on were imported fine, but the packages are missing (and since Triggers call functions in these packages, compiling them fails). Is this behaviour normal?? I'm pretty sure, that the packages were exported into the dump-file, but I can't figure out a way importing them explicitly.
So if anyone has an idea, I would be glad to know...

Is this behaviour normal??I don't think so. Apart from checking Metalink Note:132904.1 - Compatibility Matrix for Export & Import Between Different Oracle Versions, you could try to repeat the import operation using ROWS=N and IGNORE=Y options.

Restore backup to iPhone 4S from iPhone 4 backup but apps are missing now.

I backup my iPhone 4. Then I setup my new iPhone 4S by selecting Restore from backup and selecting the backup of the iPhone 4 that I just did. When it is all complete, most of my apps that were in stalled on the iPhone 4 are not on my iPhone 4S. A few of the custom folders are there with only one of two of my downloaded apps but most are nowhere to be seen. I have rebacked up the iPhone 4 (which I confirmed still has all the folders and apps) and repeated the restore process but it turns out the same each time. Any tips? Thanks,

Figured it out. "Synch apps" was unchecked in iTunes.

I have two sites up and running ... www.latheart.com and ... svwoodturners.org. Both are ok. This past weekl I installed chrome !@#$%^! didnot like it so I uninstalled it !@#$%^&! What a mess that caused. Some of the reg files had to be rewritten in the regesters also my photos also do not open automatically any more. The fonts were changed in almost everything. I think I have fixed most everything and then I found this problem with DW5. I do not know it that is related or how the htmls could even be affected. But both of my sites have the same issue. My mcbook is not conecting to internet. I have some conection in Utorrent but pages are not being displayed in my browsers (chrome and firefox). If I reset the SMC i can get results from google but no other page loads. i get ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED.

My Mcbook cant find the host. I get some conection because my Utorrent has some donwload activity, but when I attempt to open any page i just get a time out and ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED. If i reset the SMC by removing the battery, google loads perfectly and it gives me search results without any problem. But when I click on any link, or attempt to enter a direct URL it gives me the error mentioned before.
I restarted the modem, changed the DNS, deactivate the firewall, conect the macbook via ethernet, change the IP, and nothing seems to work. This issue happened the first time i tried to conect to internet in a different country. Internet works fine in any other laptop or mobile device.
When using the assistant to run a diagnosis on the network, i get the first 4 items (wifi, wifi adjustments, network adjustments and internet provider) with a green light, and the other two (internet and server) with yelow lights (sometmes red light).
When i tried to connect the first time, i had a OS X 6.8 but i upgraded it to Maverick 10.9, since i had already donwnloaded it, and the result was the same.

We usually advice first to Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache in case of such problem and then do a check for extensions to see if any are causing the problem.
* Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
* Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
* Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Other possible causes can be zooming a page or having increased the minimum font size.

Import WORD document with pics - half the pages are missing?

I've got a 100 page Word document, 3 storyboard pics per page.
I import it into a Pages word processing or a layout document ... and I'm missing half the pages. Random chunks have just disappeared.
I wonder what this might be?

I've only come across a couple Word documents that won't import at all and one sounds rather similar to yours. I made two attempts at different methods: 1) Using Word, I saved the document as an RTF and imported the RTF (rich text format) into Pages. That was better but the formatting was seriously messed up. 2) I opened it using TextEdit getting a reasonably accurate document. I then copied and pasted that document into Pages.

Session saved correctly, but files are missing from multitrack?

Started a recording last night with multiple wav files. Audition crashed about 2 or 3 times during recordings, but became stable after a while (after continuing the session). When recoring was done, I saved the file and everything seemed to be working correctly and closed the program no files were missing at this point. When I came in this morning, Audition said that some wav files were missing. So i searched all over the computer and temp files but couldn't find a single trace of them. What happened to the files?
More info:
OS: Windows 7
Version: Audition CS6
Temp directory: Default
Last working state: Last night
Non-working state: Morning after (PC went into sleep mode over-night)
Working wav files sequence: Track 1_065.wav , Track 1_066.wav , Track 1_067.wav , etc..
Missing files: Track 1_006_1.wav , Track 1_012.wav , & Track 1_019.wav

However, that temp folder apparently is getting deleted as it doesn't exist. I am currently running a Data Recovery program to see if I can get the file back, but it seems like it's not going to find it.
Thank you for explaining exactly what's happening. On the face of it, I suspect that the information Audition had about where the files were supposed to be is getting lost in the crash. It would appear that the recovery data can be relocated correctly, but because it now has no path to save to, it disappears when you try to save it - it would appear that this process gets the save/save as system out of sync completely.
In this situation, almost certainly the best thing to do is to export the re-opened files as a separate action, and don't try using 'save' at all - because that really is going to lose them.
Is it a bug? Not sure. But you really should attempt to find out why your system is crashing Audition, that's for sure...

Menu bar icons / clock (all but spotlight) are missing from menu bar

I started woke my MacBook up from sleeping for a few days this morning and everything ordinarily on the right side of the menu bar save the spotlight menu has disappeared.
I used to have a displays icon/menu, battery icon, network icon/menu, and clock displayed on the right side of the menu bar and they are now gone. If I go into the control panels for display, time, etc., to re-enable the menu bar icons, I can check the check box to display icon in menu bar, but the settings won't save! (Whenever I go back into the settings panel after making the change, the changes are reverted!)
Its getting pretty frustrating. Anyone have any ideas please?

Restoring MBP with Time Machine but apps are missing

Hi,
I have multiple problems, so I'll keep it brief.
RAM failed on my early 08 MBP. It corrupted the parttion thing and wiped my HDD. Nice.
Apple replaced RAM & HDD under warranty.
Have data backed up using Time Machine, but not the apps (I thought I was saving space that way, big mistake).
Restored from scratch using install disks + Time Machine but I have very few apps now, i,e. no Address book, Mail, Calendar etc, i.e. the important stuff.
Is there a way I can cherry pick those apps from somewhere to reinstall them while retaining my data on the MBP?
Or do I have to start over, do a clean install using disks and then cherry pick my data off the TM backup?
Oh, an the **** install disk is now stuck in the thing. Ggggrrrrr. Assuming I can get that out, what's the best course of action?

That's the weird thing, Although the install disks have the logos of iChat, Mal etc on the initial screen, once you click continue and go through it, even using the 'custom' options, the onyl apps on my disks are: upgrades to iMovie, iPhoto, GarageBand & iDVD plus iWeb. No Mail, Address Book etc.
Anyone else had this experience?
