Scans are magnified

I changed a document setting so that scans would be two sided. After that all of my scans came out magnified, therefore only a partial document shows.  How can I set this back to default?

Welcome to the forums 6700owner
I saw your post about the scan quality issue you are having with your Officejet 6700 and would like to offer my help! Please let me know which OS you are running and I will get back to you.
Help to find which Operating System you are running:

Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
In the meantime, try Resetting the Printer and plug the printer in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.

someone tell me why for this select mentioned index are not good?

...and if you read next post, nothing is black or white, it is all shades of grey .
This is not because your query will use index that it would be faster, and the example which Tom gave is really explicit :
With index usage 60127 consistent gets, and without index usage 92 consistent gets

  • Mf6161dw scans are too light when scanning hand written text

mf6161dw scans are too light when scanning hand written text. I changed from b&w to greyscale, which now makes the text legible. However the text is still medium grey instead of black on my old scanner. Need help or i will have to return it.

    Hi steelcofence.
When scanning handwritten documents, the light from the lamp may reflect on the ink.  Since scanning in greyscale did not return the image quality that you would prefer, I recommend scanning handwritten documents in [Color].
I hope this information is helpful to you.  Should you need immediate or further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

My icons are magnified and I cant see enough of the screen to change anything? Halp

Do a restore of the phone through iTunes. This will relock the phone but it should restore your icons.

  • Scan area shifted

I start HP Scan. Set resolution and choose jpg file format, preview the scanning area and adjust the area to be scanned with my LJ Pro 200 MFP. The area of the preview does not correspand to the area of the image saved. The saved image is shifted almost 1 cm to the left of the preview. Below is a screen grab of the preview window and the entire resultant image from a recent scan:In order to get the entire right hand black border I am obliged to set the area to include white areas to the right of the black edge (and correspondingly for the left edge , it too is shifted).

    Hi GregorS,
Thanks for providing that information and the screen shots.
I have provided a document for scanning with Windows 7.
Scan from Windows 7 With the Full Feature HP Software for HP LaserJet Multifunction Printers.
Do you have the same issue when scanning from the ADF?
    Scanner glass
Place the document print side down on the scanner glass, and then position it according to the guides around the glass (usually on the right-front corner or the left-front corner). Close the scanner lid.
    ADF
Place a single-page or multi-page document into the ADF tray. The printed side faces up and the top edge goes into the tray first. Adjust the width guides to fit the document.
Update the printer's firmware. HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw Drivers.
To rule out a software issue, uninstall and reinstall the software if the issue continues. You can download the newest drivers from the URL above. Uninstalling the Printer Software.

  • I have a mx860 printer scanner. All my scans are coming up photos. How do I scan documents

I have a MX 860 printer scanner. All of my scans are coming up as photos.  How can I make it scan documents

    Hi WSF,
To scan in documents as PDF files, please follow the steps below:
     1.  Start MP Navigator EX.
1-1.  If on a Windows computer:  Go to your START MENU, then ALL PROGRAMS, then CANON UTILITIES, then CANON MP NAVIGATOR EX (folder), then CANON MP NAVIGATOR EX (application).  There may also be an MP Navigator icon on your computer desktop; if so, you can just double-click on that to open the application.
1-2.  If on a Mac:  From your GO menu, select APPLICATIONS and then CANON UTILITIES.  In the CANON UTILITIES folder, locate the MP NAVIGATOR EX program and open it.
     2.  When MP Navigator opens, click on the SCAN/IMPORT option at the top left of the window, then click the STACK OF DOCUMENTS (ADF) option.
     3.  Place the documents you want to scan in the automatic document feeder on the top of the printer, then select your Document Type (either Color or Black and White Photo or Document).
3-1.  Please note:  When you select Magazine(Color), the Descreen function will be enabled and scanning takes longer than usual.  To disable the Descreen function, deselect the Descreen checkbox in the Scan Settings dialog box.
3-2.  Select Text(OCR) to extract the text in the image and convert to editable text data using MP Navigator EX.  This setting is not available when the Compress scanned images when transferring checkbox is selected on the General tab of the Preferences dialog box.
3-3.  Color scanning is not available for Text(OCR). To scan in color, use OCR in One-click and scan with Color Mode set to Color.
     4.  Click SPECIFY... to modify the document size and resolution as required, then click OK.  By default, the document size selected is 'Auto Detect', and the Resolution selected is '300 dpi'.  Both of these settings are usually satisfactory if you want to scan a document in as-is.  If you need to specify a higher resolution scan or specific document size, please click on the 'SPECIFY' button.
     5.  Click the green SCAN button on the screen.  Scanning starts.  When scanning is completed, the Scan Complete dialog box opens.
     6.  Select SCAN or EXIT.  You will select 'Scan' to scan the next document if there is one, or select 'Exit' to end scanning.
     7.  The scanned images appear in the Thumbnail window.  To save a multi-page document, you will want to ensure that you put a checkmark under each of the scanned thumbnail images that you want to save.  If only one thumbnail image is selected, it will only be a one page document.
     8.  Save the scanned images by selecting 'SAVE AS PDF' option on the bottom left-hand corner of the window.  Selecting the 'SAVE AS PDF' option will save your file in a PDF format.  This is good for saving documents, letters, etc.  When you select this option and have multiple thumbnail images selected, the window that will appear will be a multi-page PDF save window.
     9.  Once you make a selection in Step 8 above, a window will appear giving you additional options for the file you are trying to save.
9-1.  The 'SAVE IN' section will show you where the document is going to be saved.  By default, the files are saved in the Pictures folder in a folder labeled 'MP Navigator EX'.  If you would like to specify a different location to save the files to, please click on the 'BROWSE..' button and select the location where you want to save the file, the press the 'OK' button to return to the save window.
9-2.  The 'FILE NAME' section will let you name the file you are saving.  By default, the file name will be 'IMG'; you can delete that out and name the file whatever you like.
9-3.  The 'SAVE AS TYPE' section will allow you to choose the file output type.  If you selected an image file, you will have the option of JPEG/EXIF, BMP or TIFF; if you selected the 'Save as PDF' option, you will be able to save the file as a single or multi-page PDF file.
9-4.  The 'SAVE TO A SUBFOLDER WITH THE CURRENT DATE' option will let you save the file in a subfolder with the current date inside of the folder location you selected in step 9-1 above.  If do not want a subfolder created with the current date inside of the folder you selected in step 9-1 above, please uncheck the 'Save to a Subfolder with Current Date' option.
    10.  Click the SAVE button.  The scanned images will be saved according to the settings you selected above.
    11.  Once the file is saved, you will be given the option to 'OPEN SAVE LOCATION' or 'CLOSE'.  I would suggest selecting 'Close', and then going directly to the location where you specified the file be saved to.  From there, you should be able to double-click on the file to open it.
    Hope this helps!

  • When I print to pdf on Mac, the first page comes out fine but all the rest are magnified and shifted up and right

I click File>Print. Whether I open pdf in Preview, save to pdf, or just print, I get this error. The first page is fine, but all the rest are shifted up and to the right and magnified.
I've never been able to print out a multi-page document on Firefox with my new computer. I can copy/paste the address to Safari (gross) and it prints just fine, either to pdf or to a hard copy.
Save me from having to use Safari!

Making sure the fonts were embedded helped some, but it's still hit and miss. Sometimes I'm still missing pieces. One workaround I have found that works is just print one page without security to PDF, and then go back and replace the bad page(s) with them. So it will print properly, just not all the time. I have a copy of a word page and then what acrobat did to it. I just need to figure out how to post it here.

  • Scans are too big Can I re-size a scan?

I scan a lot of contracts and I just bought my photosmart 7525 today.  I scanned a contract but it would not email to my account.  i'm thinking that it was too big for my email account.  The size was only 9.25 mb but it still seemed like a lot because the contract was only 24 pages of written word.  No photos!  Is there a way to re-size my scans?  If I scanned the same document from the office, it would only be about 1 mb.
    Thanks!

    Hello baseballrob3,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand you are looking to have the Photosmart 7525 scan an image / several pages of images and have them save in a smaller size.
What is the Operating System installed on the computer you are scanning with, Windows or Mac?
I was looking into the scanning options, (using similar software to this printer on Windows 8.1) and found a couple ways to lower the file size. If you do not need to scan in color, choose Black and white. Lowering the DPI / PPI will hugely impact the saved file size.
Let me know if you are able to find those options within your scanning software, and if it was helpful.

    Is this a Mavericks issue

    Hi clarence50,
I understand you are having an issue saving your scans on the Mavericks operating system. HP has released software for many of the HP printers. Because I do not know what printer you have I recommend you check the link below to see if the software for your printer has been released.

  • OfficeJet 8620 ADF scans are tilted

When I use the ADF for scanning files, all of my pages are tilted to the right.
I'm using regular A4 paper. Bought this printer yesterday, so first time I actually tried scanning trough the ADF.
When I use the copy function (so not to my computer, but print out a direct copy of a document) there is no such tilt.
http://puu.sh/bF3Uy/870592f66a.jpg : You can find a screenshot of one of the pages I tried to scan.
Is it a faulty/misplaced scanner? Should I return it or can I easy fix it myself? Or am I doing something wrong maybe?
Already tried looking if someone else had this problem but wasn't able to find anything.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hello T-Grave,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having an issue with the scans from the adf not being straight.
I have seen this issue and was able to get it resolved by simply plugging the power cable directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please feel free to write me back if you have any other questions or concerns.

  • Scans are pink and lined

I have a printer I've rarely used. Printer seems fine. Go through ink like crazy.
When I try to scan anything, the entire page is VERY pink and there are many vertical lines. I've have tried all the trouble shooting I know to do. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software. I ran the Doctor program and it says that there are no problems with scanner. Unable to contact a human for support. This is riciculous. I've checked all the settings. Here is what it looks like. Anyone solve this problem?

Hello there! Welcome to the forums @wanderwoman
I saw your post about the bad scan quality that you are experiencing with your Envy 4500. I understand you have ran the PSDr, and also uninstalled and reinstalled the printer driver, to no avail.
Some additional steps you could try would be to power reset the printer and ensure the printer is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars and surge protectors. This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help greatly.
Press the Power button to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the product.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
If the scan quality does not improve afterwards, here is HP's contact information to call technial support. Give us a call to see what other printer options you have.
Please call our technical support at 800-474-6836. If you live outside the US/Canada Region, please click the link below to get the support number for your region. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html
