Scared to install new Audigy 2 Va

Hello,
I just bought a new retail Audigy 2 Value as an upgrade to the onboard audio on my 3 week old HP Media Center PC. After browsing the forum and hearing all the problems people have had I am afraid to install the card. I share the PC with my wife who uses it daily for her work, and who has previously been unamused by my self-inflicted computer problems. I have already upped the RAM and upgraded the graphics card but am almost ready to return the card unused. Anybody got any good news regarding Creative hardware and/or drivers?
If I decide to give it a try I presume I can disable my onboard audio by using Device Manager under Hardware and leave any existing sound drivers on my system, such that I may easily go back to my current sound setup. Yes or no?

just put the card in a free pci slot, and not shared with other pci slot.(so near the card we prefer a empty pci slot. Also keep it away from your agp card(not directly near it, agp shares with first 2 pci slots) a video is audio and video at the same time, that's why
if you've installed the card, start the computer up (don't change bios , because if your computer has irq sharing onboard(normally they have) then you can use more then one or two soundcards, it sholdn't have to give any conflicts.(it's even handy to have more then one soundcard).
If windows is starting and also gives messages about hardware found , do cancel it all. Don't let windows install it , this because i prefer a install direct from cd.(otherwise you'll get windrivers , and then when running cd, then it updates again to creative drivers(who're more up to date).
So cancel windows found new hardware , and just run the setup (installation) from Creative CD..
after that, check if windows is updated , after that go do a creative webupdate (you can find it on this site,unfortunately it only works under InternetExplorer)
just don't be afraid of your compu dude , it should be viseversa, LOL
(maybe first backup your documents(of your wife) on Cd-R(W) (or DVD-R(W)) just in case)
oh Jason: I'm happy with my Audigy2zs, sounds so crystal clear on 2xstereoamps & 4x discospeakers (quaddrosetup)now i'm a DVD-A collector but now i want to buy a A2zs dri'vebay...in a Store @ NL, and Linux support (same features as Windows)!

  • Installed new Audigy 2 ZS and tons of hiss

    I used to have onboard AC97 sound running from my computer to my Adcom amp to my speakers. Prior to installing the card I disabled the onboard audio in bios and made sure everything for it was removed in Windows. All was fine until I installed the Audigy 2 ZS. On any setting (everything muted, turned down and so on) there is a loud hiss. It doesn't matter if I mute everything or not it is still there.
    System is:
    Abit IC7 Motherboard
    Windows XP with SP2

    If you have another system available to test the card in you might want to try the card in another system to see if the hiss continues on the other system. If it does, or if you don't have another system to test with you will want to contact Technical Support to arrange a repair for the card. Their contact information is found on this page:

    If the hiss goes away on the other system make sure that you have tried the card in all of the available PCI slots and that the onboard card is completely disabled in the BIOS (some systems have different sections of the card listed in as many as three different sections).

  • Bought new Audigy SE, unable to install new Vista Driv

    I just bought and installed a new Audigy SE, immediatelly after turn on the computer via Windows Update download and installed the drivers and that worked fine with playback but the mic sounds in very low, I even tried to manually edit the mic boost registry but still the mic is practically useless. These are the drivers:?[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/AudigyDrivers.jpg">?Another trouble: At the same time Windows Updated downloaded the Audigy Vista, I downloaded the new Audigy drivers for Vista posted on June 25th, but when I try to install them I receive this error message:[img"]http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v385/javiersf/ErrorVistaDrivers.jpg">?I even restored my system just before the windows update driver was downloaded and installed but?still I receive this error. I tried to manually delete the drivers, uninstall the audio card and the restore it, but still I am getting this error and I'd like to take advantage of this driver and software to see if that will fix the problem with the low power mic.

    @javiersf; if I were you, I would give back that soundcard back and wait further for some support from Creative. 'cos , there is not a good support for Audigy users, especially for "LS/SE/Value" users; I don't recommend that card to anyone.
    BTW, there is not a driver for Mic Boost, since the first Vista driver released. You should find an alternati've way (like using mic from Onboard sound card) or you have to use your mic like it's now.

    These occur whether I install as an upgrade to existing 2-2-0002 drivers or as a clean install onto a fresh Vista SP base OS.
    Any ideas?

    Some further info for Creative Tech STaff:
    The AppCrashes I reported DO NOT happen with NVidia Graphics Dri've v75.9 & nForce Chipset Drivers v9.46 installed.
    However, they DO OCCUR when I am trying to install the Creative Audigy drivers (2.8.000) on Vista SP OS which is using the latest NVidia Graphics Dri've v77.84 & nForce Chipset Drivers v5.32 installed.
    Possibly you have a conflict with the latest nForce chipset drivers (v5.32)

    Since a few days when I try to copy or move files on my macbook, I often get an error message saying "This operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (error code -8062)". And then it just quits the copy or move.
    I searched a lot on the internet, but only found solutions for cases you cannot empty the trash due to this issue.
    I tried those solutions for my trash and that helped after some trying.
    However, I still have the problem with copying and moving files.
    I even cannot install new software now, as it has to copy itself to the programs-directory, and gives the same error-message.
    Who can help me??
    Cannot seem to find any info on it on the support-forums or elsewhere.
    My user-account is administrator, I use a 13" Macbook Aluminium (Late 2008). Mac OS X 10.6.8 CPU 2Ghz Intel Core Duo, RAM: 4GB 1067 MHz DDR3.

    Tips I received so far (thanks to A-Mac via Twitter http://www.a-mac.nl and Remco Kalf http://www.remcokalf.nl/)
    - make sure you have at least 10% of your harddisk in free space (I had only 5%).
    - do a PRAM-reset (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379)
    - perform a hardware test (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1509)
    - make a complete backup (with for example Carbone Clone Copier, see http://www.bombich.com/)
    - after complete backup: use diskwarrior (boot from Diskwarrior DVD, first perform diagnostics, then perform "Rebuild" which rebuilds your file directory).
    So far I only cleared up some space on my HD, and already the problem occurs less.
    Still, I will go through the other tips too.

    I am running Firefox 19.0.2 installed yesterday on a new desktop PC at the office. (Old PC failed to boot on Monday.) I have completed most of my customization without difficulty.     So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct?  Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order?  Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
    If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe. 
    The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver.  If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details).  When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.

  • I just updated the software on my iPad and now I cannot update my Aps or install new ones.  I ran a diagnostic and that resulted in "power issue." It wouldn't let me select what my options were.  Any ideas?

    Don't know where to get help.  I just updated the software and I am having issues with not being able to update Aps or install new ones.  The circles just spin and Aps just say "waiting."  I tried running a diagnostic with the apple store and it came back with "power issues" (?) as a result.  It wouldn't let me select an option to see what steps I could take to fix it, it just backed out of the page.  I just don't know what to do.....

    Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
    My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done.

    I would like to do a recovery, but it also doesnt work.
    I know there is a shortcut like press the 0 button when the laptop is starting up.
    With this shortcut you can start the recovery to reset the software.
    But when I press the 0 button it gives me an error.
    So I think the recovery drive/partition is lost.
    How can I install new windows on this minilaptop without a CD drive?

    I have found a much easier way to install Windows 7 from a USB Flash drive. Unlike other methods where you have to write complicated commands, this method can be completed even by those who have very little computer background.
    The whole process takes only two steps, run UNetbootin, load the Windows 7 ISO file, and finally restart your computer.
    Before you begin, you will require the following:
    USB Flash Drive (4GB minimum)
    Windows 7 ISO Image file
    UNetbootin
    Note: If UNetbootin doesnt work, try out the Microsofts official tool called Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool.
    Now insert the USB drive, run UNetbootin, and select Disk Image as ISO. Browse your local drive for Windows 7 ISO that you downloaded and click Open. Now Select Type as USB and choose the drive. Once done, it will look like a bit similar to the screenshot shown below.
    Click OK and it will begin extracting all installation files to the USB drive. The whole process will take some time (10-15 minutes), so have patience.
    Once the installation is complete, reboot your computer. Now while your system is starting up press the appropriate button (usually F1, F2, F12, ESC, Backspace, or Escape) to bring up Bios Boot Menu.
    Change the startup order to boot USB by default, usually you will have to press F6 to move the selected USB device on top. Once done, save changes and restart the system.

    With all you media (apps, music) in the iTunes library connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup. Do that by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore the iPod from that backup.
    Note the the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

    I'm trying to find info on how to do a clean install of audigy 2 ZS, the first install the progam wasn't doing anything for like 5mins so i stoped it.Now i cannot uninstall it from? add/remove programs. Error Number: 0x8004020?Description: An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers. Setup will now terminate.
    You would think all the money Creative makes off these card wouldn't be so **bleep** hard to uninstall the software when it acts up.

    Here's my method (it takes a while, but it works perfectly).
    . Uninstall all Creative software in add/remove programs.
    (a. You may want to physically remove your soundcard if Windows automatically installs a driver for it.)
    2. Boot into safemode and run DriverCleaner Pro (selecting the Creative option).
    3. Reboot.
    4. Delete the Creative directory (c:\program files\creative)
    5. Assuming you've got show hidden files turned on, go to your installshield directory (c:\program files\installshield installation information).
    6. You'll see a whole bunch of folders. Delete all folders with anything related to creative in them. They usually have files with CT in the name).
    7. Reboot, then run CCleaner (use the issues button).
    I know it's long winded, but this is the only way to get a 00% Creative free system. I found the installshield thing out the hard way - I kept getting a plxcore error and BSOD during driver installs until I figured it out.

    I just installed 2GB of RAM in my iMac and removed the 512mb card it had originally.when i pressed the power button it beeps fast a few time then the fan starts working really fast. The screen doesnt turn on only the sleep light blinks as the fan runs. I replaced one of the new cards with the original 512mb card and it starts but when i check the memory the slot where the new 1GB card appears "empty" why could this be? did i install incorrectly?

    When you install new RAM you have to push much harder than you think you should. You won't damage the RAM, but you have t give a mighty push to seat it, make sure you hear a click.

    Given the state your device is in you have already erased your old stuff. You have an image on the screen that says, "Connect to iTunes." That's what the image means. So you will need iTunes on your computer.
