SCAT t-code catt for extending materials - import file?

want to extend materials to a new plant but not with the MASS transaction.
apparently SCAT can do this more efficiently. i'm not sure how the import file should be formatted. i.e. want to make thousands of finished goods that will have ~ 7 default screens from MM01.

Our requirement is to extend some hundreds of materials to a set of few plants. Can this be done in LSMW? Or should BDC be used??

I use the Standard Batch Object 0020, program RMDATIND for creating new Materials the first time (this qworks fine), but there is no option 'Extend to existing material' or there is no field called Reference Material...
Maybe it is because we use internal numbering of the new Materials that makes it unpossible to extend materials to existing material-numbers?

Authorization for extending materials master to a plant.

I want to give the authorization for extending the the existing materials to a particular plant. I dont want that this person should change any thing while extending the same.
How can i do that

if you extend something, then you do not get the screens that are already maintained, hence one can just enter new values when doing MM01.
If the same user has MM02 change rights, then he can go into this material and can change anything for what he has authority.
If you dont want that a user who is extending e.g. accounting views shall have the possibility to change the basic data view, then you must not give him autorization for this view . for this you have authorization object M_MATE_STA

Is there any place online where I could find the last version for (at least the most important) files in Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Reports Server 10?
I have all kind of strange errors (subreports not being rendered first time when I see the page through Activex Viewer, but fine when I am visualizing the same page for the 2nd time, all kind of diferrences between the CR devel environment and what is seen in ActiveX viewer, and I want to be sure I have the very last version of it installed before asking my boss to buy CR 2008 (and waiting for CR Server 2008...)

Help on LSMW for extending materials to storage location

Please guide me with steps in LSMW to extend material master data to different storage location with same plant using tcode MMSC.

You should not do LSMW on MMSC, this does not make much sense.
Use standard given mateial master import procedures, like BAPI, which is the easiest procedure to create just one view.
By the way, you can do it easily with MM17, except you have to maintain individual values líke bin description.

Can you set the Tax Code value in the Product Import File to "Tax Never Applies"?

We have taxable and non-taxable items in our store and I need to be able to set all non-taxable food items to "Tax Never Applies" in the Product Import document. Does anyone know a work around for this? Applying this setting to hundreds of items is not ideal at all.

Did you ever get an answer? I'm in the same boat...the only way I can seem to not charge tax to my wholesale clients is to set "tax never applies". But I got over 300 products...how can I do it "en mass"???

I tried creating a special tax code at 0% but that didn't do it either.

Oracle API for Extended Analytics Flat File extract issue

I have modified the Extended Analytics SDK application as such:
HFMCONSTANTSLib.EA_EXTRACT_TYPE_FLAGS.EA_EXTRACT_TYPE_FLATFILE
instead of
HFMCONSTANTSLib.EA_EXTRACT_TYPE_FLAGS.EA_EXTRACT_TYPE_STANDARD
I am trying to figure out where the Flat file extract is placed once the Extract is complete. I have verified that I am connecting to HFM and the log file indicates all the steps in the application have completed successfully.
Where does the FLATFILE get saved/output when using the API?
Ultimate goal is to create a flat file through an automated process which can be picked up by a third party application.

WM Material Master Data - extend materials inquiry

I have a question regarding WM Material Master Data - extend materials
what is the best practice for extending materials to Warehouse Management views 1 and 2. We have 1 new warehouse with fixed bins 001 Pallet, 002 Racking, 003 Floor, 004 Bins, 005 Chemicals, 099 Quarantine. My question is should we extend 3000 materials to each of the designated fixed bins to the Plant/Warehouse Number/Storage Type for WM views 1 & 2?

As suggested by Raj you can use Mass maintenance option MM17 to update the WM1 and WM2 view
or
You can use the LSMW option to upload from external file (e.g. xls, CSV files)

Using ?import:file? command in a linux Enterprise server

Hello.
I'm with a problem with a template. I never had a client that use linux as OS in enterprise server.
I work with embedded bi publisher in JDEDWARDS and usually i use this command to call dinamic footers and never had a problem. For example
<?import:file:///\\10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf?>. This customer is in linux and dont know nothing about linux but i think that the problem is in this command because linux dont use " \\ " to perform this command \\10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf.
Someone know how i can solve this problem? i tried something like this ( <?import:file://///10.153.2.86\BIP\R5543501\footerlastpage.rtf?>) but still not working and cant find much information in internet about this.

You can import subtemplates this way:
<?import:http://myservername/subtemplates.rtf?> (access over HTTP)
or
<?import:file:///mydirectory/subtemplates.rtf?> (access over File System)
(Notice: http uses two forward slashes // and file uses three /// )
So in your case try this: <?import:file:///10.153.2.86/BIP/R5543501/footerlastpage.rtf?>
Another thing to make sure is set is this:
1) http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/de/community/bip/tipps/Subtemplates/image01.png
2) http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/de/community/bip/tipps/Subtemplates/image02.png

Import Error (Partial Set failure with RC error code = 0x84020020 for rec

Hi,
While importing the data through xls file , i am getting the error message "Partial Set failure with RC error code = <0x84020020> for record number
0 through 212" and no record get created in Data manager.
Although i mapped all values , still it giving me an error message.
I tried to Import other data and it was all working fine.

HI,
I checked the exl file and found that in the first column and first data was in text format ('0001)but later on when i change the record and moved it to the last record , it worked fine. I was able to load all records including ('0001)
I don't know wht the logic behind this:
if my first record was ('0001), system was giving me the error and not allowing me to load the data. But when i moved the record as the last record it not only allow me to load the records but allow ('0001) also.
If anyone have any clue , plz let me know.

Important Settings that Determine the Extended Classic Scenario
The following settings are required for the extended classic scenario:
u2022 At least one backend materials management system and accounting system is connected to the SAP SRM system and defined in the configuration setting Define Backend Systems.
u2022 Product categories from the backend procurement system are replicated and used in the SAP SRM system.
u2022 The target system for each product category is the backend system in the configuration setting Define Backend Systems for Product Category. Optionally, BADI BBP_DETERMINE_LOGSYS is implemented to determine the backend system.
u2022 The extended classic scenario is activated in the configuration setting Activate Extended Classic Scenario. Alternatively, BAdI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI is implemented to control the extended classic scenario based on customer defined rules.
u2022 If the backend system is an SAP R/3 version lower than 4.6B, you must define local purchasing organizations and purchasing groups.
u2022 If the backend system is an SAP R/3 version 4.6B or higher, you need to map the purchasing group used in the purchase order to the backend purchase group in one of the following ways:
u2022 Use a backend purchasing organization and purchasing group in the shopping cart and purchase order.
u2022 Use BAdI BBP_PGRP_FIND to determine a backend purchasing group in the shopping cart.
u2022 If a local (created in SAP SRM without reference to a backend system) purchasing group and purchasing organization are used, then a valid backend purchasing group is assigned to the RFC user that created the backend purchase order. How to activate the new fields on material master(MM01/MM02/MM03) for existing Materials

Hi,
We have a requirement to add some custom fields as a new tab in additional data option(Descriptions, Unit of measure, etc.) in Basic data of Material master (MM01/MM02/MM03). I have successfully added and these custom fields and they are not part of standard(MARA, MARC) but a custom table and the updates are also done in custom table.
For new materials, I can see the new tab in additional data screens of basic data view and I could successfully create/change/display using MM01/MM02/MM03. However I cannot see the new tab/fields for existing materials in the system in all 3 tcodes (MM01/MM02/MM03). This is not a main view in material master so that I can extend it by MM01.
Is there any setting or mass generation program I have top perform so that I can see and maintain these new fields for existing materials. Appreciate any leads or help on this.

Use the above path and create the screen and assign it to the sequence using the below link as reference.
