Sccm 2012 application deployment fail

Hi Gents
I am attempting to deploy applications to a test machine.  The software deployment reaches the test machine in the software center but it fails.
One Application had the status "Past due - will be installed"
The rest just state "Fail" with more information saying:
"The software change returned error code 0x80070005 (-2147024891)
I've been googling away here and iwll continue to do so until i find a resolution but hopefully you guys can help point me in the right direction.
Thanks for the help guys
Lee

Ok i got it to a point where the status of the applications is "waiting to install" so they download fine but not actually installing.  I followed this link:
http://777notes.wordpress.com/2012/08/17/sccm-2012-local-content-cach-failed-for-workgroup-machine/ anbd enabled the anonymous checkbox.  But still the apps arent installing.

  • SCCM 2012: Application deployment stuck on 'Waiting to install '

I am setting up many new machines in the last month. But sometimes, when installing applications after rolling out an image. The applications wont install and display the waiting to install message. This mostly last for 1-2 hours but sometimes ever longer.
None of the logs that I have checked seem to give any indication why it will not move forward.  Any
    thoughts on how to troubleshoot?
For what it's worth, we are setup with a standalone primary site with one distribution point installed. SCCM 2012 SP1.
    Thanks in advance.

  • SCCM 2012 application deployment installs on all systems regardless of specified count

    Hi,
As the application is being deployed, the "Devices with Application" under Application Statistics is showing 723, when in fact only 10 systems have been added through Direct Rule. Under Deployment Status it reflects the right amount (Already Compliant
    - 3 Assets; Success - 7 Assets).
Does anybody have any idea why it is slowly (over the period of 5 days now) it keeps installing the application on all systems (there are total of 1,500 systems)? Also the same application was used through task sequence, but I don't believe it is possible
to clone 723 computers over period of five days). Also, under the Supersedence tab has been set to upgrade old versions.
Checking with query shows that all 723 have been deployed.
    Thanks,
    Waldis

    Hi,
Have you resolved this problem? As Jörgen said, you need to remove the old version application deployments.

  • SCCM 2012 OS deployment fails post loading.WIM

I am trying to install an image on a laptop - I get the PXE boot and it downloads the NBP file and starts loading the files for the .wim - it does this (I suspect) and after about 30 minutes of doing that (loading files.....) it goes to a login screen but
it is not the new image, it is what came with it.
    How do I troubleshoot this.
In the smspxe.log it shows that it is looking for the bootimage HQ200005 (which corresponds to my x64 boot image) then I get some Begin validation of certificate and completed validation of certificate and then that's all.

Also, it's always a good rule of thumb to make sure you've got all your content properly distributed, boundaries and boundary groups setup and good to, and a network access account created.

  • SCCM 2012 application portal: config questions

    Hi,
We have setup SCCM 2012 application portal correctly and it's working fine.
    However some config questions:
-can we change the name of the configuration portal? Now its servername/CMApplicationCatalog ... what's not userfriendly.
We'd like it to be applicationportal.ourcompany.com. Howto achieve that?
-can we customize layout in a supported way (we could change html pages but after an upgrade of SCCM they would/could be erased)?
-how does flexera (adminstudio?) plugs in into this. I've read this entry
http://helpnet.installshield.com/appportal2014/Content/helplibrary/AP_CreatingCatItemSCCM.htm but what's the big picture here? Anybody using this? What are the advantages?
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

We want to offer software center for overview of mandatory installs, application catalog for optional software.
On our companies portal, we can then set a link which directs to the application portal. User can then install optional software from there.
My current config works http://applicationportal.ourcompany.com/ goes to the sccm-server but not to the url below.
    That would be http://applicationportal.ourcompany.com/CMApplicationCatalog/#/SoftwareLibrary/AppListPageView.xaml
how can I make sure the application portal shows up when this link is opened?
It sounds like you want to perform a URL rewrite?
    http://www.iis.net/learn/extensions/url-rewrite-module/creating-rewrite-rules-for-the-url-rewrite-module
You should test this to see if it's what you want - I may have misunderstood your question.
Also, I wouldn't host this module on your AppCatalog server, I'd host the rewrite module elsewhere.

  • Sccm 2012 simulate deployment for task sequence / OS or applications

    Hi
I have been getting a lot of problems with Os/Application Task Sequences and have been asked a few questions.
I cannot find anything on the Web about Limitations for a simulated deployment in SCCM 2012.
I know SCCM allows you to create them but does it work/Are the results accurate?
I need to know the following:
Can you simulate an OS Deployment Task Sequence?
Can you simulate an Application Deployment Task Sequence?
Are there limitations to Simulated Deployments?
Thanks guys Hope this makes sense and you can help.
    Regards
    Anthony

If you have the MDT integration with SCCM 2012 you can simulate the settings used by the task sequence, but not the actual task sequence deployment. However, seeing the settings is often enough.
    Check this post:
Save time (and avoid pain) - Create a MDT simulation environment

  • SCCM 2012 - App deploy - Configuring a dependency in an app which is also configured for supersedence.

    Hi there
I am replacing an app with a newer version via SCCM 2012.
So lets call the existing app App1 and the new app App2.
I have an application created which has App1 configured to be superseded (uninstall) and App2 to be installed as a msi deployment type.
The issue I have ran into is that the install/upgrade fails if App1 is currently opened and running. The uninstall only works if App1 is not opened.
Anyone had to deal with something like this before without reverting to a script deployment type which runs taskkill commands and then a msiexec /x command? Is there a more sophisticated way to do this using the new application model?
The sequence would need to be:
    1) App1 if running on the target machine is killed
    2) App1 is uninstalled
    3) App2 is installed
Anyone put anything like that together?
    Regards
    John

    Thank you for replying.
Yes the key is indeed the uninstallation command and behaviour on App1; as my question makes clear I am aware of that.
I am hoping someone has come up with a clever way of achieving such a requirement, or I will simply have to use a script, which seems a bit unsophisticated given the range of options available in the application model.
    Regards
    John

  • SCCM 2012 Application rollout timings

Just getting to grips with SCCM 2012, have a deployed Adobe Flash 13 to a bunch of users. How does SCCM handle this?
    i.e.
Does it deploy straight away once a user logs on or is there other criterea taken into account?

The user has to become member of the collection (if he/she is not yet in it), the client has to retrieve policies (which happens on a scheduled basis, after login or when unlocking the PC). Then it depends on the way you created the deployment: available:
user has to start the installation using the application catalog. required: the application will be installed at the deadline.

Is it possible for you to paste the deployment command that was executed for the above failure? You could try doing a manual install. Before executing the FPInstallDP.xml during the manual install add the following jar to your classpath
    ${MW_HOME}/oracle_common/jlib/commons-cli-1.0.jar.

  • SCCM 2012 application catalog items not showing up

I have an SCCM 2012 package which is being deployed to a device collection
The users are not seeing this package appear in the application catalog, nor is it appearing in the software centre
Can we no longer deploy (advertise) to device collections for the users to install when needed?

If it is not appearing in Software Center, then either the deployment policy has not been retrieved by the client, it is not in the target collection, or has been filtered out due to platform restrictions (or some other restriction like that). Or the client
is not able to communicate with the MP, which would be a cause of the first option (the policy has not been retrieved by the client). You'd need to check to ensure that all is working on that end.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 -CU3 fails at 'Create Software Update Catalog'

    Hi
I am trying to upgrade SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 to CU3 (skipping CU2) but the upgrade fails in the middle with following message in the log
Task 'Create Software Update Catalog' completed, state is 'failed' ExceptionText: Error: Setup detected an unexpected problem during installation. Error message: A valid file name is required.
    Parameter name: fileName
I have checked following article but it does not fixed mine.
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/05ddea79-ca6c-4958-bd54-ceac4b787dd9/problem-installing-sccm-2012-r2-hotfix-kb2905002-wdsosd-slowness-issue?forum=configmanagerosd
Already uninstalled CU3 and reinstalled it with no luck so I was wondering anyone has any ideas as what might be causing it?
    Thanks

    ** RESOLVED **
After attempting several times and uninstalling when it failed, finally it got installed successfully.
Since I was skipping CU2 so I thought to install that as well before installing CU3. However, the CU2 also failed at Admin Console update.  Re started installing CU3 but this time I choose not to create deployment packages for client, server and console.
Not sure if that fixed it or CU2 but I am glad its over now. After installing CU3 successfully, ran the installer again to create all required deployment packages for console, client and server.
    All looks good now.

  • OSM 6.3 application deployment fails

    Hi,
I tried running the osm 6.3 setup and the setup runs sucessfull. I am using weblogic 9.2 for deploying the OSM application. When I check the status of the OSM deployment on weblogic, it says that the OSM application failed at deployment. Has anybody else faced the same problem of OSM deployment failing on weblogic?
If anybody can provide any links for debugging the OSM installation, it would be great. The setup guide doesnt cover this.

I just did a test and found that applications without a . in the name seem to install. Going to run another test, but I saw else where that people were having problems with , or & as well.
Just noticed this thread and I had this just last week - my UDI wizard had problems installing applications with the period in the name (0x80004005) "policy not available".  All the apps were deployed to my UDI collection as well as to other collections
and had the "install from ts" flag.  I was fast losing my patience and decided to create a new app and that worked great.  Just by chance I renamed the app to remove the period and re-added to the UDI app page and then things started working.
The really, really freaky thing however is that they continued to work even when I put the periods back in!  I had this problem in both my lab environment and the customer environment, but not at a previous customer where we had apps like "7zip x.x"
that installed fine.  The only potential link is that my lab environment apps were imported from a previous lab and the customer environment were recently restored from backup onto Server 2012 - I wonder if policy isn't somehow getting recreated or made
available to task sequence deployments when the app data are restored?
