SCCM 2012 Client Software Center - no items found.

hi there,
we are using software center as self-service portal for users and it's working quite good!
unfortunely i software center displays "no items found" on a specific computer, though the pc is in the correct collection.
i have re-installed sccm client, repaired wmi repository and also re-imported the machine into sccm 2012 but still no luck.
anyone can point me on a possible solution?
thank you!

Hello
we had exactly the same behavior. The Software Center shows everytime "No items found". After further tests we found that we could see applications in the Software Center, but still no packages.
After one day struggle we found the issue/solution. It seems that is not a bug, it is a feature....
Situation: Another user was logged in. It seems that the Software Center will only display packages for the first/default logged on user.
Solution: Make sure the previous user logs off completely (not just disconnected) and there are no users logged on to the machine before another user logs on.
The Applications do not have this restriction and will be displayed for all users logged on to the machine
Hope this helps

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - Software Center appears twice in Start Menu

    Hi guys,
i just finished implementing a fresh SCCM 2012 SP1 Installation for a customer. The whole OSD works like a charm (except some issues with the latest Windows updates breaking the whole OSD, will open a separate thread for this soon), but after the deployment
the Software Center is appearing twice in the Start Menu (We're using Win7 Enterprise SP1 x86 English with 5 integrated language packs). I first thought this has something to do with the integrated language packs, but both Start Menu entries
are always in the same language.
The strange Thing is, that one entry for the SCCM Software Center is called "Software Center" and the other one "SoftwareCenter" (without a space). We configured 2 Client policies, one with EP-enabled and one without EP. We
deployed the Client Settings to different collections so i don't think that this is causing the Problem?Do you guys have any idea why this is Happening?
Has anyone ever seen this? See a screenshot below:
    Thank you.
    Cheers
    Stefan

    Thanks for your Response Thomas.
I don't think it is related to the upgrade to SP1.I think it might be a General issue in SP1. I started with a fresh SCCM 2012 SP1 Installation and i also have 2 Software Center entries in my start menu. If i check the shortcut i can see that one shortcut
was created when i captured my base Image, the other one was created during the Install OS Task Sequence.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 - Software Center bug with publishing date ("available after")

    Hello everyone,
we are using SCCM 2012 R2 together with Software Center to allow users the installation of +100 different software packages.
This works out quite well; but some packages have always the date 10.04.1998 as publishing date, no matter if i have set a publishing date manually or not.
    here is a screenshot:
this bug occurs with new packages i have created and also with old ones. i have changed the publishing date manually and also redistributed them to the distribution point but this did not change anything.
Anyone encountered the same error or knows how to fix it? It is not critical but really annoying...

Redistributing it to DPs isn't needed as the publishing date has nothing to do with source files. It's just a matter of policies though. Does the data change if you select Notepad++ for example and then highlight TeamViewer 9 again?

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Software Center

    Hello,
We do not have a need for the Software Center as we use another product to present applications to users. At the moment we use SCCM for inventory, wsus and software we can't push through our other product. Do we need to keep Software Center for anything we
don't plan on having a software catalog? Is there a way to prevent it from installing? I did not see an option in client settings.

I would recommend not doing this. The Software Center can be really useful for administrator troubleshooting.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Reporting Services No Items Found

I installed the Reporting Services Point role on my sql2012 site system server.  sccm is installed on my sccm primary site server.  I set my network username under the reporting services point properties. My account is a full administrator on both
servers.  When I click on reports under reporting on the monitoring tab it waits for a while and comes back with no reports.  I checked the smsadminui.log and get the following.

When I right click reports and choose report options and select my sql2012 server I get the below error:
    Configuration Manager
There is a problem connectiong to the specified reporting server. Please check the connection and make sure SQL reporting service is running on the specified server.
    OK
Now if i login to my sql server and open the reporting services configuration manager and go to the report manager url section there are two urls:
    http://sql2012-sccm:80/Reports
    https://sql2012-sccm...net:443/Reports
Clicking on the http link I get your standard there is a problem with the cert click continue to this website in IE.  When I click continue I get the webpage cannot be found.  If i click on the https link I get
a windows security login box.  I login with my user creds and it appears to work, I can get to the SQL server reporting services home page.
If i try to go to either of these pages when Im logged onto my sccm server I get page cannot be displayed.
    Anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

That is a pasting error.  The server is running 2012 to be upgraded to 2014 once everything is working hence why its named 2014.
I hadn't notice that. SQL doesn't always like it what the server is renamed after SQL is install.
What exactly is the name of your SQL server now?
BTW, I don't recommend having SQL remote from CM12, too many issues.

I've tryied to install it manually & with the push installation , but no change.
when I try to push it to the server it has an error File C:\Windows\ccmsetup\{181D79D7-1115-4D96-8E9B-5833DF92FBB4}\client.msi installation failed. Error text: ExitCode: 1635
But when I try to install Manually Exit code is 0 (no error)

    Hi,
Have you checked the log files ccmsetup.log ,ccmsetup-ccmeval.log, client.msi.log and SoftwareCenterSystemTasks.log? Maybe it can give us some clues.

  • Software Center displays no found items under all the tabs

Wanna ask, I often faced issues where the software center on my client machines shows no items found. I have double checked the agent, and it is installed properly (I can see under Actions tab got 11 actions and correctly pointing to the mgmt point). I have
also run the mplist and mpcert, and able to display all the MP's. I leave it for few days, kept forcing to run machine policy actions a few times, but still it displays no item found in my software center... Im assuming that it is not able to communicate
with the MP... Whats the log file to see if the agent is correctly communicating with the mgmt. point and able to get the latest policy?

In the locationservices.log whether the client is able to find the correct MP? Is the client is approved? 80004005 is unspecified error. We should have more details to help you. In the above screenshot client is requesting for the policies but not sure whether
the client received the policy or not.

  • SCCM 2012 Client delpoyment in SCCM 2007 Native world

    Hi Team,
In my account I have SCCM 2007 running in Native mode.... we do not support internet based clients there..but work on HTTPS only. Now I have implemented SCCM 2012 R2 there and now testing the client migration so that I can upgrade the SCCM client agent from
2007 to 2012. In SCCM 2012 we have to support internet based clients and so the SCCM 2012 client which we need to install should be compatible on internet and intranet both
The plan is to use the existing SCCM 2007 infra to do that. Send the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in a package to all the clients via SCCM 2007 Software Distribution and trigger SCCM 2012 installation.
Just to do a small test I did this :
    1. Created a folder in C drive of a client machine and copied the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in it.
    2. Tried to trigger the installation with below mentioned commandlines..... but getting error as mentioned below.... Please help.
    Command line used :
Here ABCD.contoso.org is the intranet MP and PQRS.dmzone.org is internet MP
    CCMSetup.exe /UsePKICert /NoCRLCheck smsmp=ABCD.contoso.org ccmhostname=PQRS.dmzone.org smssitecode=ABC

  • Send SCCM 2012 client or re-send client to individual computer

We have a tech tools web portal and I need to add an item so techs can send the SCCM 2012 client to a machine. This will be used if they have to reinstall the client for some reason.
I had planned to use PowerShell and created the script only to find out that it requires too great a permissions role to connect to the SCCM drive so the cmdlets can be used.
I then thought I could just create a .CCR for a computer. But, the format for SCCM 2007 does not work for SCCM 2012.
Reasons we are approaching this in this manner are:
    1) We want to install using the CURRENT client files. And, we don't want to copy those off to some other location and need to remember to update them when we update SCCM 2012.
    2) We want the retry capability that comes with using .CCRs.
    3) We want the "smartness" of the client install we have found. We have a distributed operation and doing the client install by an SCCM admin from the PowerShell script or via the right-click in the console allows SCCM to find the closest DP and
use client install files from a local source when available.
    4) We have a LOT of desktop techs that we do not want having access to the SCCM console. There is just too high a learning curve. We want a simple tool.
One other thing to mention ... we cannot use the Generate CCR tool because we are not turning on client push (lots of valid reasons for this and some the SCCM admins don't think are valid, but the decision has been made for us :) )
Anyone have thoughts on how to have a simple tool to send the client install via script or .CCR?
    Thanks in advance!

You can't turn client push off -- you can turn *auto*-client push off though. The Generate CCR tool does not depend upon *auto*-client push though so there's no reason you can't use it.
Here's a blog post on the changes in the CCR process:

  • How to enable SCCM 2012 clients to get Windows Updates through SSL VPN

I would like my SCCM 2012 client laptops to get Windows Updates through SSL VPN.
I suppose I need to add VPN Subnet in my boundary and boundary group.
What other setting I need to enable?
At this moment, on the 'Software Update Point Component Properties' "Allow intranet-only client connections" radio button is active. Do I neeed to select "Allow both intranet and internet client connections" and Enable SSL communications
    for the WSUS server?
or are there something else I need to check?

No, a VPN client is no different than a client connected internally as far as the network is concerned and as far as ConfigMgr is concerned there is no way to explicitly know any different. Internet clients literally are those that connect via the Internet
    using IBCM.

From successfully installation i typically see folders created in C:\Windows\CCM\* but in this particular case there are only a couple .tmp files and other misc.  Where should i look next?  I have tried ccmsetup.exe /uninstall and then ccmsetup.exe
    /mp:<machine> SMSSITECODE=<code> /noservice and also with /service.
    I have tried winmgmt /resetrepository
I have checked that BITS service is running.
What else should i look for?
    thanks

Did someone able to find the root cause of it and able to it resolve it, i'm currently facing the same issue:
Error 1904. Module C:\Windows\CCM\DCMADQueryProvider.dll failed to register.
HRESULT -2147024703. Contact your support personnel"
    This error is not
restricted to any 1 dll but it's random like DCMADQueryProvider.dll,
    statusagent.dll, ccmcore.dll
•I'm getting this error while installing
    SCCM 2012 client.
    Steps i tried:
    1.I did try manually registering
oringinally but when the client fails to install, it removes all the source
files including the ccmcore.dll. So, ccmcore.dll doesn't reside on the system
after failing to install the client or at least not that I can see.
    2. I
have tried timing it just right so that my "regsvr32 ccmcore.dll" is run during
the install process while the file is in the CCM folder but that didnt work
    either.
    3. I had manually created the directory CCM\x64\ccmcore.dll and
copied the file from a working client and try to register but it gave me an
error " Failed to load .dll"
    4. i have tried uninstalling the client from
ccmclean and tried to reinstall it but still it fails.
Currently not sure what is wrong with the client install, so still
investigating the issue, please help if someone was able to solve the issue.
    There are some
articles out there which points to resolving this issue by registering
    ATL.dll.
    However, in this
case ATL.dll has been registered only 1 times using regsvr32.exe (system32 and
    syswow64 folders).
    Based on procmon :
    HKCR\Wow6432Node\CLSID\{44EC053A-400F-11D0-9DCD-00A0C90391D3}\InprocServer32\
While installing, it was looking for ATL.DLL and found the location from
    registry as "“%systemroot%\system32\atl.dll”

Error codes are easiest looked up in CMtrace, making one general list of errors and solutions is hard, in many scenarios there are different solutions to an error based on the infrastructure and differences between environments

  • SCCM 2012 clients in SCCM 2007 console

    Hi
If a Windows 7 system has sccm 2012 client installed, will it get discovered in SCCm 2007 console.
    Regards Sushain KApoor

If you enable AD discovery to this client, the client object will be discovered. Anyway, the SCCM 2012 clients cannot be managed by SCCM 2007. See below.
Configuration Manager also checks that you have assigned the Configuration Manager 2012 client to a site that supports the Configuration Manager client version. If you have used automatic site assignment and the client is assigned to a Configuration Manager
2007 site, the client automatically tries to find a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 site. It first checks Active Directory Domain Services and if this is not successful (for example, the Active Directory schema is not extended or the computer
is a workgroup client), the client then checks for site information from its assigned management point. However, if the client was assigned with a specific site code and assigns to a Configuration Manager 2007 site, site assignment fails and you must manually
reassign the client to a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2012 site.

  • DPM 2012 R2 long backup to tape job randomly fail after installing SCCM 2012 Client

    Hello,
I'm managing a two nodes 2012 R2 file server cluster that contains a 16To CSV. I'm using DPM 2012 R2 to backup this entire shared volume directly to LTO 4 tapes, the job last about 55h.
Since SCCM 2012 client has been installed(I don't manage it), the tape jobs are failing ramdomly after several hours with the error:
    Type: Tape backup
    Status: Failed
Description: The DPM service was unable to communicate with the protection agent on serverX.xxxx.xxx . (ID 52 Details: The semaphore timeout period has expired (0x80070079))

If I uninstall SCCM 2012 client, no more issue, backups succeed. I've asked our SCCM team, no specific task has been scheduled or deployed in SCCM.
I can't see anything abnormal in logs.
    Any idea?

I have disabled "Configuration Manager Maintenance" and I have also tried to set the registry value HKLM\Software\Microsoft\CCM\CcmEval\NotifyOnly to TRUE and still the same issue.
I can't find any correlated errors in the Windows event logs, task scheduler history neither in the DPM logs.
I've increased the log level of DPM by following the following procedure
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/george_bethanis/archive/2013/11/04/how-to-collect-dpm-verbose-logs.aspx
Now i'm suspecting the maintenance job of Windows 2012 R2, i'll try to disabled this task. But the fact is that I don't have this backup issue if SCCM 2012 client is not installed.
I'm waiting for next logs and will keep you informed
