SCCM 2012 - Duplicate Record

Hi All,
I need a advice on duplicate record
While building the machine in OSD, we have given the same asset tags to different machine. I found some duplicate machines physically but wen i checked in SCCM there is only one record.
Is there a way i can find the machine with the same asset tags (same in computer name properties as well). please help
Regards, Pratap

Hi,
I'm a little confused. You could join two same computer name into one domain?

This is known to happen if you modified any of the default reports
I've seen that happening even in my lab (and and customers) where I am sure that I did not modify them. Just delete them (they should be prefixed with "_").

  • SCCM 2012: import objects from AD/manually

    Hi,
We have an SCCM 2007 environment in which we want to update the sccm clients to SCCM 2012, then managing within new SCCM 2012 environment/installing a new OS to it. AD discovery happens and also an import of pc’s was done (mac).
We have duplicate entries: one with automatic discovered objects of AD, one with manually imported items.
Both should merge to 1 object. Just to see if we're doing this right. If we deploy a task sequence, we should deploy it to the manually imported object, since that one contains the mac-address, right?

You can try to change the setting on "CAS" (if you've one) or "stand alone Primary" level from “Automatically resolve conflicting records” to “Manually resolve conflicting records” and implement a Status Filter Rule, that automatically
    merges duplicate records.
There are scripts around to fix the conflict issue.
I don't know whether you wanted to fix the duplicate record issue or you're more concerned about finding the correct/working object. When you've a duplicate objects then I don't think it would be very easy get things worked.

  • XenApp 6.0 / SCCM 2012 R2

Has anyone successfully gotten SCCM 2012 R2 to work with XenApp 6.0 Provisioning Services?  We have an image that boots from 78 VMs daily.  I've followed the cleanup script in this article: http://blog.raido.be/?p=23
I still end up with multiple devices reporting in as the same GUID, duplicate device records, etc.  I've contacted Microsoft and their fix is to remove the SCCM client from the image which of course isn't a reasonable approach.  That would mean
each day we would have no antivirus / SCCM until either client push ran, or some type of startup script finished.  Either way, not ideal.
I'm hoping someone on the forums has already accomplished what i'm trying to do.

The fix, for those having similar issues:  http://nielsvdijk.blogspot.com/2014/01/ConfigMgrCitrixIdentityStore.html
Basically it's SCCM 2012 R2 and the Citrix Identity Store causing issues.  There are a few different fixes but the one above worked for me.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 site server client installation error: The client version 5.00.7958.1000 does not match the MP version 5.00.7804.1000.

    Hello,
When I try to install the client on the site server itself it gives me this error message and fails the ccmsetup. I only have this on the site server. Clients to other servers and computers are pushed fine. If I check the version of the MP it says 5.00.7958.1000
in ADSI. I removed the MP object in CN=System, CN=System Management. Waited for it to be regenerated automatically by SCCM but the installation doesn't work still.
I tried to install with several methods including directly from ccmsetup.exe in ccmsetup folder, pushing by sccm itself, running from commandline, ...
I run SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and the database on SQL 2008 on Server 2008 R2

I agree with Idan. You can easily remove the Management Point Site System role and add it again with no adverse effect. This should solve your problem.

  • Client Install Issue - SCCM 2012 R2 - Manual Deploy Installed ok

Hello, I have sccm 2012 configured with 2,000 machine approx. It is been used mainly as a Software Deployment tool for now. On checking a recent IE10 upgrade, I noticed that there is a number of machines that do not have the client installed (and thus did
not upgrade IE). I picked 1 machine, searched in SCCM - had no client. I checked all relevant settings:
Boundary for Client in question - ok
Local Client Settings (ip,dns,no firewall, ping sccm ok and vice versa etc).
Once i right clicked to deploy the client, it installed no problem. I checked the ccmsetup log file and the only info it had was from the time that the client was manually deployed (I will attach the log below anyway). I am really puzzled as to why the client
did not install and if this is the issue why IE is not upgrading (it is hard to pinpoint as there are 250 sites approx). The automatic install task works no problem on other machines once the machine goes online.
Any help, would be great. Here is the log (I am fairly new to SCCM btw):

    Hi,
The client cannot verify the signature of ccmsetup.cab. I suggest you check the Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certificate store on the client to see whether a certificate is missing.
Try to enable verbose logging for SCCM client installation. Then check the log to see whether there are some useful information.(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699356.aspx)

  • Upgrade from SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 to R2 Fails - Unsupported Upgrade Path

    Hi everybody,
I'm currently upgrading our SCCM infrastructure to SCCM 2012 R2 after have finished with the upgrade from SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 CU4, thus far everything works fine, but when I try to update any
of the site servers, whether CAS or Primary, I'm getting the following error message in the Prerequisites Check:
I've gone through the system requirements and prerequisites over and over again and I can assure you that every possible update, supported OS, feature set, SQL Server, check list, etc,
etc, have been followed as per the official documentation available, however I'm stuck in this point, and surely enough I haven't been able to find out a similar case.Additionally I'm adding
the ConfigMgrPrereq log (the relevant portion of it) in case someone could kindly take a look at it.

I confirm that this one site is a secondary one that's attached to a primary site and this log is from the CAS server, I managed to tall it and delete it from that site, but still appears listed
on the CAS management console, any idea how to force the removal of a secondary site that's attached to a primary from the CAS site when it has been removed already from said primary?
    I've already tried the
Preinst /DELSITE XXX  command but it only works when the site to remove it's attached to the local site and certainly not from a CAS
Finally,  the version, build number and everything is correct, no idea what could be the problem, does anybody know a way to bypass this or force the re-evaluation of this rules, I've got
the impression that it's being cached somehow.
Any help would be highly appreciated,
    Thank you.
    Marcelo Estrada MCP-MCTS-MCITP-MCSA-MCSE

    Hello again everybody,
I've finally managed to fix this up, in the end I had to delete those entries manually from the database as Garry suggested. After this was done the upgrade has gone through as expected with no further ado and has finalized already, now moving on to the
    primary sites.
If anybody out there is facing the same issue, what I did was to delete those "stubborn" records executing the following statements over the CAS database:
    DELETE
    FROMServerDataWHERESiteCode='XXX'
    DELETE
    FROMSC_SiteDefinitionWHERESiteCode='XXX'
And this is pretty much about it. I'd recommend to take a proper backup first though as best practice.
Thank you all anyways for your answers and comments,
    Marcelo Estrada MCP-MCTS-MCITP-MCSA-MCSE

  • Windows 8.1 Mobile Device Management and SCCM 2012 R2 - 'Turn on' option missing

I am trying to test a virtual desktop with SCCM 2012 R2 integrated with Intune. There is no Configuration Manager client on the workstation, the Intune subscription is configured and enabled for Windows enrolment, AD is synchronizing with Intune, DNS has
the enrolment record added and resolves, the user can logon to Intune from the client using Internet Explorer and the client has had the registry key added with the DiscoveryService  configured to manage.microsoft.com. The problem is that on
the 8.1 workstation in Workplace Settings the only option is 'Join' and the 'Turn-on' option is missing. How do I get it to appear?

Yes I am using an activated version of 8.1 Enterprise, it is in a workgroup and I am logged in as a member of the local Administrator's group but not Administrator. I even joined the domain again and then removed it. Still there is only the 'Join'
option and no 'Turn on' option. This is driving me nuts.

    Thanks.

We found out that there were duplicate entries in the PkgStatus_G and the PkgServers_G tables in the SCCM DB.  We identified them, deleted them , and then we were able to run the /TESTDBUPGRADE command and it went through fine.  We performed
all of this on a COPY of the PROD DB and then moved the changes in PROD.  Hope this helps someone.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 - Evil Folders in Reporting Services - What Are They and How to Remove Them

    Hello All,
There are a lot of sub-folders in the http://CentralSiteSCCM/ReportServer. They are like:
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.0
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.1
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.10
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.100
    <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN.OLD.1000
Only <dir> Config_Mgr_CEN is properly populated with the correct set of the default folders.
Would you be so kind to advise on:
    What are they?
    How to remove them?
What to do in order for them not to appear any more?
Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi Mike,
I ran into an issue when I did the SP1 upgrade where a majority of our reports were duplicated. I created a script to delete these duplicate reports and I've adjusted it to work for your situation. You can find the original thread here, if you're interested:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/configmanagergeneral/thread/dc9aa3b4-cea9-4a07-87ca-2795a2dbc04e
You'll need to know your SCCM site code and the server name to run this script.
    # SCCM2012SP1-RemoveDuplicateSSRSFolders.ps1
    # This script will connect to SSRS on a specified server and delete all folders that end with .OLD.*
    # Used for SSRS cleanup after SCCM 2012 SP1 installation
    # Script must be run from an account that has access to modify the SSRS instance

    $serverName = ""

    $noConfirm = $False
    # Safeguard
    If ( $SiteCode -eq "" -or $serverName -eq "" ) { Write-Host "Enter the required information for the SiteCode and serverName variables before running this script." -ForegroundColor Red -BackgroundColor Black ; Exit }
    # Connect to SSRS
    $ssrs = New-WebServiceProxy -uri http://$serverName/ReportServer/ReportService2005.asmx?WSDL -UseDefaultCredential
    # Get a listing of all folders in SSRS
    $reportFolders = $ssrs.ListChildren("/", $True)
    # Find all folders containing .OLD.*
    $foldersToDelete = $reportFolders | Where { $_.Name -like "ConfigMgr_" + $SiteCode + ".OLD.*"}
    # Quit if no folders are found
    If ( $foldersToDelete.Count -eq 0 ) { Write-Host "No folders with .OLD.* found. Quitting." ; Exit }
    # Show a listing of the folders that will be deleted
Write-Host "The following folders will be deleted from SSRS on" $serverName":`n"
    $foldersToDelete.Name
    Write-Host "`nTotal number of folders to delete:" $foldersToDelete.Count "`n"
    # Get confirmation before deleting if $noConfirm has not been changed
    If ( $noConfirm -eq $False )
    $userConfirmation = Read-Host "Delete these folders from" $serverName"? Enter Y or N"
    If ( $userConfirmation.ToUpper() -ne "Y" ) { Write-Host "Quitting, folders have not been deleted." ; Exit }
    # Delete the folders
    $deletedFolderCount = 0
Write-Host "Beginning to delete folders now. Please wait."
    ForEach ( $folder in $foldersToDelete ) { $ssrs.DeleteItem($folder.Path) ; $deletedFolderCount++ }
Write-Host "Folders have been deleted. Total number of deleted folders:" $deletedFolderCount
Standard disclaimer: While this script worked just fine for me in my environment, I make no guarantees that it will work anywhere else. I've attempted to make this script as user friendly and generic as possible, but it may require slight tweaking to work properly.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 clients not being automatically 'Approved'

We have a development SCCM 2012  R2 environment that consists of one server with the following roles:
    -Component Server
    -Distribution Point
    -Management point
    -Reporting services point
    -Site database server
    -Site server
    -Site system
We're using this for OSD to deploy Windows 8.1 (we have MDT integrated). The problem lies in the fact that once systems are imaged and the client is installed on them, they do not get Approved, and therefore cannot receive any further OSD task sequences
to be reimaged, or any task sequence for that matter.
What are a list of things one should check in troubleshooting this? We've checked AD permissions on the System Management container, they look fine.
    What else?

In the Administration workspace, go to Site Configuration, right click on Sites, and select Hierarchy Setttings.
The Client Approval and Conflicting Records tab has a 'Client approval method' section.  Do you have "Automatically approve computers in trusted domains" selected?  Are these clients a member of a trusted domain when the client is installed?
If you have "Manually approve each computer" selected, then all devices would have to be manually approved.

  • SCCM 2012 Client delpoyment in SCCM 2007 Native world

    Hi Team,
In my account I have SCCM 2007 running in Native mode.... we do not support internet based clients there..but work on HTTPS only. Now I have implemented SCCM 2012 R2 there and now testing the client migration so that I can upgrade the SCCM client agent from
2007 to 2012. In SCCM 2012 we have to support internet based clients and so the SCCM 2012 client which we need to install should be compatible on internet and intranet both
The plan is to use the existing SCCM 2007 infra to do that. Send the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in a package to all the clients via SCCM 2007 Software Distribution and trigger SCCM 2012 installation.
Just to do a small test I did this :
    1. Created a folder in C drive of a client machine and copied the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in it.
    2. Tried to trigger the installation with below mentioned commandlines..... but getting error as mentioned below.... Please help.
    Command line used :
Here ABCD.contoso.org is the intranet MP and PQRS.dmzone.org is internet MP
    CCMSetup.exe /UsePKICert /NoCRLCheck smsmp=ABCD.contoso.org ccmhostname=PQRS.dmzone.org smssitecode=ABC
    CCMSetup.exe /UsePKICert /NoCRLCheck smsmp=ABCD.contoso.org smssitecode=ABC

  • Client Push Not Working SCCM 2012

I am new to SCCM and have a test rig SCCM 2012 for testing, problem is the client push fails every time and I am at a loss to explain why. I have tried removing and reading the DP, FSP and MP roles (Both these are on the SCCM core server) I have run IIS
reset, removed all AD configured Boundaries and Groups in favor of IP range but I keep getting the same errors. Any advice here would be greatly appreciated... Below is this mornings logs highlighting the failure.

Does you MP/DP use HTTP or HTTPS? I recommend to start with HTTP and when you have successfully installed a few clients, you can switch to HTTPS if desired. HTTPS based communication requires more steps e.g. client certificates.
Have you extended AD schema and do you see objects in \System\System Management container in AD?
Also, you might have DNS name resolution problem or the firewall is blocking the traffic from the client to MP.
The client is having troubles to successfully talk with MP:
Failed to get DP locations as the expected version from MP 'VKYV-HV01.VKYV.LAN'. Error 0x80004005
