SCCM 2012 R2 Boot WIM DISM - Drivers Failing -hr:0xc0000135‏

Hello OSD Experts,
I have upgraded my SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1(Not installed any Cumulative updates) then to SCCM 2012 R2 Successfully... I did not get any errors.
Before Upgrade my SCCM 2012 RTM/SP1 Images are removed from DP Targets.
Now my next high priority task is I wanted to integrate my Hardware models NIC & Mass Storage Drivers to my Boot Images, So that my OSD will work without any issues. But am getting errors, when I try
to add by DISM command to the Boot Images.
I have taken Default boot.wim file from SCCM 2012 R2 and copy pasted to my work location and ran the DISM command... however I am not successful in this for integration.
Has anyone have already have solution for this let me know.

Hi,
You could use SCCM console to add these drivers. From the SCCM console, go to Operating Systems -> Drivers. Right click and select Import Drivers and follow the wizard. Or go to Operating Systems -> Boot Images -> Right click the boot image in question
-> select Properties. Select the Drivers tab and click on the add button on the right and then select the NIC drivers.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 Boot Image

    Hi Guys,
We upgraded to SCCM 2012 SP1 from the RTM yesterday and now our OS Deployment has stopped working. I have tried to update the DP's with the boot images and it keep failing to add drivers. I have also tried to add a Boot Image but this failing.
Any suggestion on what might be going wrong? Our upgrade processed completed successfully.

  • SCCM 2012 WinPE boot with fixed IP address

Is there an easy way of bootin a boot.wim image in SCCM 2012 and start it with a fixed IP address.
In our server enviuronment we do not have DHCP and when I create a virtual reference image within the server environment i now need to manually enter a ip address, subnet, gateway and dns server.
I want to automate that....but how.
I know the prestart script is not working since that script is started AFTER the task sequence is obtained from the server.
Ans I need to set an IP address first !! als i could now obtain the task sequence...
    any help is appreciated.

See the "Workaround" section of this post for an example of downgrading bootsect.exe:

It is not the version of WinPE that is the problem here, but the version of bootsect.exe that gets injected into the boot media.

Here is the complete smsts.log: http://1drv.ms/1pwTEBf
To explain the Problem in Detail:
The SCCM Primary Site Server and the Clients are in different trusted (bidirectional) forests!
Everythings working fine in this Scenario, I can install SCCM Agent on the Clients with Manual ccmsetup and with Client Push Installation. Additionally i can deploy Software Updates and so on... only OSD is crashing in the releaserequest step.
During my Tasksequence new Clients are joined to Domain A while SCCM Primary Site Server is installed in Domain B
If I change my TS and let the Clients also join Domain B everything works without any Problems and the Tasksequence finish without any Errors.
My Problem must be related to the different Domains and the forest trust.
    My Setup:
MP published to DNS in both domains
    Schema Extended in both domains
System Management Container published and verified in both domains
ccmsetup Parameters in TS: ccmsetup SMSMP=sccm.domain.b FSP=sccm.domain.b DNSSUFFIX=Domain.b
Network Access account configured with Domain B account
Domain Join account has create Computer rights on the OU in Domain A (Domain join is successful)
DNs conditional forwarders configured in both Domains and DNS resolutin is working in both directions
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks.
    regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
So do you actual get an error message in your TS or is it just failing to join Domain B?  (Could be both if the machines fails to join the domain).
Can you review netsetup.log on the machines after the issue and see what error message you might be getting during the domain join process?
Also, if it a domain join issue, can you try manually joining to domain B using the same service account?

  • SCCM 2012 after SP1 replication link has failed

    Hi guys,
after install SP1 on SCCM 2012 I have problem with Global Data Replication status and Site Data replication status on P02. Where I have C01 and P01, P02, P03, P04.  P02 is the only one which is broken more. Rest of primary sites have ok
    Global Data Replication status.
Site P02 is after 1 week from patch console still in Read Only mode rcmctrl.log says: The current site status: ReplicationMaintenance.
    CAS C01 have in rcmctrl.log
ERROR: Replication group "General_Site_Data" has failed to initialize for subscribing site C01, setting link state to Error.
Retry for process replication is requested.
Cleaning the RCM inbox if there are any *.RCM files for further change notifications....
Rcm control is waiting for file change notification or timeout after 60 seconds.
    No connector role installed
    DRS change application started.
Site is NOT active, so not calling the DrsActivation procedures on DRSSite queue.
replmgr.log says nothing special to be mentioned.
and when I run Replication Link Analyzer on C01 against Link to P02 it says :\
    ReplicationAnalysis.xml:

in my case in rcmctr.log is visible on CAS and primary site this message: ERROR: Replication group "General_Site_Data" has failed to initialize for subscribing site C01, setting link state to Error.
but today we moved in this situation and my P02 2nd primary site fall out from maintenance mode and a lot of replication happened but General_Site_data still remain in problem.
steps taken were: goto monitoring node > database replication > choose link which has problem and on the bottom check Initialization Detail
you can see which replication Group has problem.
Then in SQl server management studio we run following command with relevant name of Sites and Replication Group which are affected in my case
      select * from RCM_DrsInitializationTracking
     where replicationGroup = 'General_Site_data' AND SiteFulfilling='P02'
    it will show you status
then this update query will force that replication group to start replicate(parameter 7):
we run this many times against same or different replication groups which ahd problems
    update RCM_DrsInitializationTracking set InitializationStatus = 7 where ReplicationGroup = 'general_site_data' and SiteRequesting = 'C01' and SiteFulfilling = 'P02'
it's still not win but we are moving forward. And it doesn't has to be same issue like you have but it can point you to somewhere...

  • SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 - Site Backup Task failed

Hi, I set up a Site Maintenance Task for Backup our Primary Site, but every time I run this task it fail with the following message:
Error: Backup folder \\backupserver\backupshare$ does not exist or backup service does not have permission to access the folder.
I tried to use "erveryone" in share permissions and NTFS Permissions with Full Control and then the Backup works! ... I tried to remove the everyone from NTFS completely then the Backup also still works .. but when I remove everyone from the share
permissions (and grant the SCCM Site Server and SQL Server Computer Accounts the Full Control Permission) the backup fails..
so it seems to me that I have a permission issue ... what is the correct Permission setup for UNC Backup? (Share and NTFS Permissions) ... I tried to give the SCCM Server and SQL Server Computer and SQL Cluster Account Full Control without success...)
    kind regards
    Klaus

  • SCCM 2012 PXE boot

    Hi All,

It is working perfectly fine if i create a standalone image via USB and build it.
But when i try to PXE boot the same device, it takes ip and boots up after windows screen it restarts. I thought it wud be network drivers and i have updated the same in winpe but still it doesnt work.
I feel Esprimo C720 is not supported for PXE boot. Can any one advice me if you wud have come across this issue
    Regards, Pratap

    Hi,
I recommend you check the log file smsts.log.
This can be found in one of several locations depending on the progress of the build and the architecture of the OS:
Windows PE before HDD format: x:\windows\temp\smstslog\smsts.log
Windows PE after HDD format: x:\smstslog\smsts.log and copied to c:\_SMSTaskSequence\Logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
Full version Windows before SCCM agent installed: c:\_SMSTaskSequence\Logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
Full version Windows after SCCM agent installed: c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
Full version Windows (x64) after SCCM agent installed: c:\windows\sysWOW64\ccm\logs\Smstslog\smsts.log
After Task Sequence has finished running: c:\windows\system32\ccm\logs\smsts.log
After Task Sequence has finished running (x64): c:\windows\sysWOW64\ccm\logs\smsts.log

  • SCCM 2012 pxe boot issue

My test machines cannot PXE boot.
My lab environment is very simple:
    10.10.0.0/24 subnet
    10.10.0.5 = Server2012, DHCP, DNS, SQL Server 2008 R2 Sp2
    10.10.0.7 = Server2012, SCCM2012
All machines are Oracle VM Box virtual machines connecting through the same virtual network.
Setup the PXE service from DP properties.  I let SCCM install WDS.  WDS in Server
Manager does not have a server node, but the WDS service is running.  DP PXE tab is configured as follows:
"Enable PXE support for clients" is checked
"Allow this distribution point to respond to incoming PXE requests" is checked
"Enable unknown computer support" is checked
"Require a password when computers use PXE" is not checked
"User device affinity" is set to "Allow user device affinity with automatic approval"
PXE is configured to respond on all network interfaces
The PXE server response delay is 0 seconds
The DHCP server has options configured as follows:
    Option 66: 10.10.0.7
    Option 67: smsboot\x86\wdsnbp.com
Both DP and MP on SCCM server are configured for HTTP.
Both x86 and x64 boot images have been distributed to DP.  The media was updated after
PXE was enabled on the DP.
Both x86 and x64 boot images have "Deploy this image from the PXE service point" enabled on the Data Source tab of their properties

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Client install error - CcmGetOSVersion failed with 0x80070008

Getting this error message, CcmGetOSVersion failed with 0x80070008 and CcmSetup failed with error code 0x80070008.  Only thing on this error I can find is Windows Update and removing languages.  Only language installed is English.  I've pasted
the last part of the ccmsetup.log file.  Not sure if more would be needed.  I've done a complete uninstall\reinstall attempt.  Recompiled MOF files and reregistered DLL files for WMI.  Did a repository rebuild of WMI.  Nothing has
helped.  Not sure what it's checking besides WMI to get the OSversion or what that error code means.  This is the only server having this error.  Our other 700 servers have installed the client with no issues.   OS is Server 2008 SP2, NOT
R2.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

I have one particular client that will not pull down patches from the site server. The ccmcache folder stays empty, nothing appears in Software Center, report Compliance 5 - Specific Computer says it needs 4 patchs and that they are approved (other computers

Could not instantiate COM class for a system task. CertEnrollAgentStartupTask.(0x80040154)"
    Hi,
The SMSSHA error in ccmexec.log could be ignored if you are not using NAP (network access protection).
"Failed to evaluate installed rule. UpdateID = long SID = 80080005"
Which version of Windows you're running? You could try to run System Update Readiness tool or try to reset Windows Update components.
What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
How do I reset Windows Update components?
    Best Regards,

  • SCCM 2012 with MDT: osd, apply wim captured with CM task sequence in MDT task sequence: "cannot find the file specified"

    Hi,
Please see titlte. When I try to apply an CM captured WIM via an MDT task sequence, it starts, applies but stops after 15 minutes.
Logfile says it "cannot find the file specified".
Full error: "Installation of image 3 in package mypackage failed to complete. . The system cannot find the file specified. (Error: 80070002, Source: Windows).
Though the image IS there, redistributed it (if it wouldn't be there the task sequence would not start).
    Please advise.

Update: could it be the fact I'm using an old (SCCM 2012) MDT wim? If I need to recreate the WIM boot image, where do I get the SCCM 2012 R2 boot wims?

  • Huge wim files with sccm 2012 capture media.

So I'm making new image of two new HP models. 850/840 G2.
    Win 7 and Win8.1
Image will have only newest win updates
    Newest device drivers
Problem is that when I use capture media from SCCM 2012 R2, the WIM files are around 40-50Gb. And I'm a bit lost with this and don't know what to do.
I did all the things in same way like it was with G1 models. And then the WIM size was 9-11Gb.
I checked the inside of the wim file and there was hiberfil.sys files etc  that are 16Gb as the RAM on the machine is the same ammount. Ram ammount was same in the G1 models also and this didn't happen. Also winsxs folder was under windows and that was
    way over 10Gb.
Also one thing that is strange is that during capture, it captures 3 volumes. Disk should only have that 350MB and the windows installation.
Anyone have had this kind of experience?

    Hi
I don't know exactly how I should go with the virtual machine thing .
This is just a small part in my work that I do, so I have done it the most "fastest" way for my self.
Basically I just need 2-3 images with machine drivers and windows update installed.
If making image trough virtual machine would require me to create driver package for each model and then notice that x amount of devices still don't get installed and I would need to create installation package of those missing drivers. That is something I
    don't have time for...
Also when using driver package and installation for some special drivers from their won packages it feels that it takes long. And if i have my stuff already in the WIM file, things go smoothly much faster.
But if the virtualmachine trick is somehow superior, hit me with url. Thank you!
Strange thing is that some time ago all worked fine. And I was thinking that if someone has seen this kind of problem before.
It somewhow feels that it's capturing all the drives I have attached to machine. Volyme 3 of 3. And volyme is a disk? Not a partition?
I had usb stick (sccm capture media), machine harddriver with 350mb partition and the windows partition. Also external USB disk that it should save the WIM into.
Probaply next I will test the same machine with different harddrive...

  • SCCM 2012 - Drivers

    Hi,
I am using SCCM 2012 SP1 version, Some specific drivers are working only if I reimport.
Is there any specific reason or is it a bug. Any advice please
EX: I imported drivers for 6550B model almost a month before and it worked at that time. When I tried it today, no drivers got updated. It worked fine only after I reimport the drivers.
    Regards, Pratap

    Hi,
I dont think there is a problem with SCCM, there are many ways in managing drivers.
As part of the import process for the device driver, Configuration Manager reads the provider, class, version, signature, supported hardware, and supported platform information that is associated with the device. Once a driver has been imported and has the
same above listed infomration, Configuration Manager will not overwrite this as the information already exists in the driver catalog.
By default, the driver is named after the first hardware device that it supports; however, you can rename the device driver later. The supported platforms list is based on the information in the INF file of the driver. Because the accuracy of this information
can vary, manually verify that the device driver is supported after it is imported into the driver catalog.
I usually categorize them into two , the good and the bad.
Good drivers install using theier inf files \ pnp device id's. In a OSD Deployment task sequence this type of drivers are aplied by the AUTO APPLY Driver Tasksequence step.
When dealing with bad Drivers , you have two options:
Option 1 : Import the drivers and include them driver package, In a OSD Deployment task sequence this type of drivers are aplied by the APPLY Driver Package Tasksequence step.
Option 2: Refer to the vendors website, and create a software package to deploy the driver. Some Vendors have guides and detailed information on how to install these type of drivers and thier relevant applications silently.
    Please refer to
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh301101.aspx for more information.
Further, deal with one driver at a time, every driver can be managed diffrently during the deployment process.
