Hey Guys, I am working for this from a long time but not able to make it work, I am using following batch script for installing IIS  using SCCM 2012 task sequence:
    Dism.exe /online /Enable-Feature /FeatureName:IIS-WebServerRole /FeatureName:IIS-WebServerRole /FeatureName:IIS-WebServer /FeatureName:IIS-ApplicationDevelopment /FeatureName:IIS-Security /FeatureName:IIS RequestFiltering /FeatureName:IIS-NetFxExtensibility

  • SCCM 2012 and .PCK files - how exactly are they used?

Ok, no one, not even Microsoft engineers can seem to provide a clear and definitive answer on this topic, everyone's understanding of the .PCK file with relation to SCCM 2012 is clear as mud.
I understand what .PCK files are...in the SCCM 2007 world, and how they work, all that jazz, what I don't understand is how/when/why they would be used by SCCM 2012...it seems that sccm 2012 would only need these .pck files during a reassignment of a shared
DP in a migration scenario...even that surmise is sketchy since I've watched very closely the DP content conversion process and at
no time did the server access the .PCK files to populate the single instance store.
I am going to do some more testing on my own, my ultimate goal is to permanent delete the contents (not the folder itself) of the SMSPKG folder, essentially all the .PCK and .DL$ files to save space on my server.
If any soul out there knows..not guesses...the purpose of the .PCK file in 2012, let me know please, don't just copy/paste other people's posts as an answer, explain in clear terms each step of the process that 2012 would utilize a .PCK, or if the answer
really is that 2012 does not use .PCK files at all, let me know.
I have a single primary site with 16 secondary sites in my SCCM 2007 environment, I'm migrating to a single primary with 16 distribution points...so even if .PCK's are used to populate secondary sites, I should not need them since I won't have any secondary
sites once all of my DP's are migrated...yeah?
    Thanks!
    Terry

Thanks for the reply Torsten, that would make sense if my primary site had any .pck files at all (my sccm 2012 site that is) only my DP's have .pck files. I have no child sites in my 2012 hierarchy unless DP's are child sites (I thought secondary sites are
child..) When my DP's require a package they get them from my primary site, not other DP's. I have no 'Pull' DP's setup.
If SCCM 2012 uses a 'single instance store', which contains 3 folders itself that seem to contain compressed versions of the package files, then there should be no need for another folder that also contains compressed files...just a thought.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Client only showing 2 items under Actions

I've enable AD Forest Discovery on Primary Site also checked Automatically create AD site boundaries when they are discovered and Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets when they are discovered.
I didn't change this (default) Disable AD Forest Discovery on CAS.
I am still running SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 in Production environment. Do I need to remove all the boundaries first on SCCM 2007? Before I could install SCCM 2012 R2 client?
The reason that I manually install SCCM 2012 R2 client to my test computers just want to see if the SCCM 2012 R2 client will install without any issues. Right now, there's :(
On my Client Push Installation Properties, I haven't Enable automatic site-wide push installation. I just don't want SCCM 2012 R2 client is automatically pushing it out. Should I enable this? Is there any effect?
Two nights ago, I manually deploy SCCM 2012 R2 client (right click to deploy SCCM Client) to my test Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise. Until this morning Actions are not fully there (it should be total 11)
SCCM 2012 R2 client (version 5.00.7958.1000) installed but SCEP 2012 is not install (I think there's a problem here) since I checked the Actions button on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise are only showing 2 Actions:
    1. Machine Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
    2. User Policy Retrieval & Evaluation Cycle
I've checked on both of Win7x64 Enterprise and Win8.1x64 Enterprise logs (using CMTrace):
    1. CcmExec.log -> no errors
    2. LocationServices.log -> Current AD site of machine is Default-First-Site-Name
    3. ClientLocation.log -> It knows my new MP (correct one)
    4. ClientIDManagerStartup.log -> with errors below
ClientIDManagerStartup.log has lots of RED errors (same one):
    <![LOG[RegTask: Failed to send registration request message. Error: 0x8000000a]LOG]!><time="11:26:13.695+420" date="07-03-2014" component="ClientIDManagerStartup" context="" type="3" thread="1716"

I am hoping someone will be able to point me to the right direcly, please. Thanks, Reza
    Reza Prawirasatya

    Idan,
    Thanks for the info.
I have check this registry below:
    Check in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Mobile Client
It's pointing to my new site code of SCCM 2012 R2 (it's not SCCM 2007 site code).
What I did wrong I deploy SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings to a collection that I created and also Antimalware Policies to that collection as well where that collection has 0 (none members).
So I deleted and just simply pointed both SCCM 2012 Client Custom Settings and Antimalware Policies to All Systems and all my test computers (workstations & servers) have SCCM 2012 R2 client along with SCEP 2012.
    I have more questions below:
What's the best way for me to approach this SCCM 2012 R2 Client push to a test computers (workstations and servers).
I have SCCM 2007 R3 SP2 is still running in Production, currently Boundaries set as IP subnet (not using AD Site, it used but I changed it 2 years ago).
Now, SCCM 2012 R2 Primary Site set Enable AD Forest Discovery with Automatically create AD & Automatically create IP address range boundaries for IP subnets.
Of course, by turning this option above, it will pick up lots of different IP subnets. Even the one our sister company (lots of different domain).
    1. In SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups, I set Default-First-Site-Name (AD Site), under Site Systems tab, I have also my Primary Site SCCM 2012 R2 here.
    Here's the questions:
    1. Do I need to add IP subnet in SCCM 2012 R2 Boundary Groups? Do I need to add let's say 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here).
    2. Also, do I need to delete IP subnet in SCCM 2007 Boundaries that correspond to that IP subnet? Let's say I have 10.xxx.20.xxx (IP subnet here) and remove this one since I have added on number 1?

  • ¿Is it possible to upgrade from SCCM 2012 a domain controller in Windows Server 2008 R2 TO 2012 R2?

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.

    Hi all.
I want to know if is it possible to upgrade a domain controller from Windows Server 2008 r2 to 2012 r2 installing from SCCM 2012.
    Thanks.
    Regards.
Anything is possible if you can script it. You could create a task sequence to do the following (with scripts):
    1. Demote 2008R2 DC to member server
    2. Remove 2008R2 member server from domain
    3. Build new 2012R2 member server and join to domain
    4. Promote 2012R2 member server to DC
You can do this. However, why would you? Just because you can doesn't mean you should. In my opinion it's more trouble and testing than it's worth. How many times would you need to do this?

  • SCCM 2012 Client delpoyment in SCCM 2007 Native world

    Hi Team,
In my account I have SCCM 2007 running in Native mode.... we do not support internet based clients there..but work on HTTPS only. Now I have implemented SCCM 2012 R2 there and now testing the client migration so that I can upgrade the SCCM client agent from
2007 to 2012. In SCCM 2012 we have to support internet based clients and so the SCCM 2012 client which we need to install should be compatible on internet and intranet both
The plan is to use the existing SCCM 2007 infra to do that. Send the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in a package to all the clients via SCCM 2007 Software Distribution and trigger SCCM 2012 installation.
Just to do a small test I did this :
    1. Created a folder in C drive of a client machine and copied the ccmsetup.exe ( of SCCM 2012 ) in it.
    2. Tried to trigger the installation with below mentioned commandlines..... but getting error as mentioned below.... Please help.
    Command line used :
Here ABCD.contoso.org is the intranet MP and PQRS.dmzone.org is internet MP
    CCMSetup.exe /UsePKICert /NoCRLCheck smsmp=ABCD.contoso.org ccmhostname=PQRS.dmzone.org smssitecode=ABC

  • Boot\BCD error - SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
This is a last ditch attempt before I throw in the towel and rebuild the server.
I am running an SCCM 2012 R2 Hierarchy with two primaries and multiple distribution points.
One of our main DPs has started coming up with an error when pxe booting a windows 7 machine. This happened after a corrupt driver was added to the boot image. The driver was removed and all the DP's rolled back but the issue still remains on this server
alone. We use an IPhelper to point the pxe requests at this server.
    The error message is:
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a valid OS entry.
    I have tried the following:
    1. Removing the PXE role and reapplying it.
    2. Removing the Boot images and reapplying them.
    3. Removing the DP altogether from the console and reapplying.
    4. Removing all data from the DP and starting again.
    5. Redistributing the boot images. both x86 and x64
    6. creating a new boot image for both x86 and x64 and applying those.
    smspxe log is as follows

    Hello,
Is your WDS running properly? If WDS is stopped, can you start it manually?
Or you get an error like 'The service did not respond in a timely fashion'?
The symptom is so similar to that I have encountered. You referred that you have tried to remove WDS, DP, but I wonder how. Before removing WDS and DP role, try to delete corrupt package in SCCMContentLib folder.
I just recreated SCCMContentLib, and WDS did start working. I guess there are corrupt packages in the my folder as well. But another problem occur, I installed all the roles on the same server in my lab, so it is a primary site server as well. As a result,
it seems that I have to re-deploy all the packages. Not sure if there is any further problem yet. Since it is just a lab environment, it doesn't matter for me.
I hope what I have done will give you some clue.

  • Sccm 2012 https workgroup client installation error

    Hello everyone,
i got a problem workgroup client installation with PKI.
My SCCM 2012 SP1 hierarchy is:
sccm1.izmir.local = Primary Site Server, FSP, MP, SUP
    sccm2.izmir.local = MP,DP (internet FQDN is sccmextmp2.izmir.com)
sccm3.izmir.local = MP,DP, Enrollment Point, Enrollment Proxy Point
sccm4.izmir.local = Reporting Service Point, Application Catalog Web Service Point and Applicaiton Catalog Web Site Point
All MP's and DP's IIS configured with Certificate and client has got certificate too.
i'm using this parameters for installing workgroup client with PKI:
    ccmsetup.exe /source:D:\Client /UsePKICert /NoCRLCheck CCMHOSTNAME=sccmextmp2.izmir.com SMSSIGNCERT=D:\Client\sccm1.cert SMSSITECODE=TCP FSP=sccm1.izmir.local CCMALWAYSINF=1 CCMFIRSTCERT=1
and my error is in the ccmsetup.log:

  • Script For Deleting Computers in SCCM 2012

    Dears,
I need script to remove all the remain computers in SCCM 2012, sometimes we are going to delete some computers in active directory but the computers still remain in SCCM 2012, so I need script or query to find all the computers which removed from active
directory but still remain in SCCM 2012, because I don't want to go remove them manually one by one.'
    Thanks..

Thanks for article but below are not clear for me. I know only meaning of site code which I replaced with the script but is not working. My site code is "S01"
1- why there is two site codes?
2- Why there is two local domain names?
3- What dose mean by installdrive and why we have two?
    # $sitecode = "<sitecode>:"
    # $sitecode = "PS1:"
    # $installdrive = "<ConfigMgr Admin Console installation>"
    # $installdrive = "C:"

  • Wifi profiles SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune

    Hi All,
A quick question regarding SCCM 2012 R2 and the new Wifi Profiles feature...
Can anyone confirm if you need windows Intune combined with SCCM 2012 R2 to be able to deploy WIFI profiles to users devices i.e Windows 8.1, IOS and Android platforms?  Microsoft documentation is not clear on this subject.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Regards PowerShell90

It not as straight forward as one would hope. I am running the latest version of SCCM 2012 R2 CU2 connected to my Windows Intune subscription. There are a lot of hickups. One is that the direct of management needs to be all or nothing. In other words you
either need to use Windows Intune solely to manage your devices or SCCM 2012 R2 (via connector). If the later then you must do everything from in SCCM 2012 R2. You cannot hybrid manage your devices as this will screw things up.
Android for some reason is left out on a lot of features. I would think that MS Devs would work hard on the market share that being Android, not iOS. Any way, accord to some official MS articles Android is supported, but others claim that not all features
are, these being the important ones like Email and Wi-Fi Profiles. They simply do not work.
I think MS is heading in the right direction but there is a lot of work that needs to be done before this is a competitive product. I could care less if connects to my SCCM 2012 R2 server or not. Here are few things that I sent o a MS Support Rep today that
    need to be address.
    1. Better response time when updating devices after enrollment (e.g. Name change).
    2. The ability to locked down uninstalling Windows Intune from device.<o:p></o:p>
    3. The ability to locked down certain features in the Windows Intune app on device (e.g. User can reset device with Windows Intune app, rename, etc...).<o:p></o:p>
    4. Ability to rename device in either Windows Intune Admin Portal and/or SCCM 2-12 R2.<o:p></o:p>

  • Decline and update using SCCM 2012

On WSUS you can search and update and then decline not required updates.
There is a way to Decline updates using the Software Update Rol on SCCM 2012?
I need to hide some unnecesary updates from the SCCM-SoftwareUpdate view, and I can't do it by using the filtering options that comes with this view.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you for your help.

No. There is explicit way to decline an update and no real reason to either. If you need to, you can create a sub-folder under the All Update node and move the un-wanted updates there.

  • SCCM 2012 - SUP

    Hi All,
I have configured SUP point on the SCCM 2012 SP1 server (Server 2008 R2 Sp1) but under product list I cant see
Windows 7 displayed. Do I need to apply any hotfix. Please advice
    Regards, Pratap

You need to sync your SUP with Windows Update. To do that Work through the below step:
Right the All Software Updates node under Software Updates
and select Synchronize updates - wait for the sync to complete. You can verify this in the
    wsyncmgr.log file.
After the sync has completed go to Administration, Site Configuration,
    Sites.
Right-click your site in the details pane and select Configure Site Components
    -> Software Update Point
In the Software Update Point Properties window, click the
products tab and select Windows 7. Then click okay.
Repeat the above steps to sync your SUP with Windows 7 updates etc.
