SCCM 2012 R2 - How to add second Software Distribution?
I already have a Primary site server setup so I added another site system server so I could add the Distrubution Point to a remote 2012 R2 server (hope that was correct?)
Now I would like to also add the Software Distribution role to that secondary server. I'd like the types (security, optional, etc...), of software updates pulled from my primary site, but want the actually updates pulled from Microsoft. To have that setup
do I install the WSUS role on my secondary site server and then add the Software Update role?

WSUS when used in SCCM as a SUP is only used for the clients to download the information about which updates exist, the actual updates are downloaded from the assigned DP. There is no way to configure a client to download security updates from SCCM and the
rest from Internet.
Yes, you did correct, it is not a Secondary site though it is a Site System for your Primary site if that is the same site server you are refereing to later.
The data actually downloaded by the clients from the SUP is not that much so it is normally no ide to install a new SUP.

There are a lot of questions regarding how SCCM 2012 handles Software Update Revisions.
Does anyone know what happened if:
Windows update publish some update with revision #1
Same update downloaded and deployed via SCCM 2012
Windows update publish same update with revision #2 or any newer revision
What is happening with SCCM and already deployed and downloaded revision? How should I know what revision is really on my distribution points?

Also keep in mind that your query will only find x86 software titles.

SCCM 2012 - Task Seq - Install Lenovo AMT software - Failing with 2147500037 (80004005)
Hi there
Wondering is anyone has had any issues installing Intel Management Engine 10.0 software via a SCCM 2012 task sequence?
We have a number of older laptops which we build via a Windows 7 task sequence from SCCM 2012. As part of the install each laptop gets the appropriate version of the Intel ME software. All well and good.
We now have a new model to build (Lenovo T440) and for some reason the latest available version of Intel ME 10.0 software keeps failing in the task sequence with a 2147500037 (80004005) error.
This can mean different things but often means a permissions issue. Not sure what the permissions issue could be.
This software is installed at the same stage as previous versions of the same software are installed for older laptop models. Same install command too, SetupME.exe -s as per the document which comes with the software (in previous versions it is Setup.exe
not SetupME.exe but don't imagine the different file name is the problem).
I will try an older version but really we want to keep up with the latest available versions.
Anyone had problems installing this Intel ME v10.0 software via a SCCM 2012 task sequence?

2. In the step 11 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next
to "Install ..... now", and then select Finish to cancel installation.
3. At the command line, execute Setup.exe with the -s option.

SCCM 2012 R2 -CU3 fails at 'Create Software Update Catalog'

I am trying to upgrade SCCM 2012 R2 CU1 to CU3 (skipping CU2) but the upgrade fails in the middle with following message in the log
Task 'Create Software Update Catalog' completed, state is 'failed' ExceptionText: Error: Setup detected an unexpected problem during installation. Error message: A valid file name is required.

Already uninstalled CU3 and reinstalled it with no luck so I was wondering anyone has any ideas as what might be causing it?

After attempting several times and uninstalling when it failed, finally it got installed successfully.
Since I was skipping CU2 so I thought to install that as well before installing CU3. However, the CU2 also failed at Admin Console update. Re started installing CU3 but this time I choose not to create deployment packages for client, server and console.
Not sure if that fixed it or CU2 but I am glad its over now. After installing CU3 successfully, ran the installer again to create all required deployment packages for console, client and server.
All looks good now. -

I'm using a virtual environment to build this out so I can create more machines as needed.
In the guide two systems are used, DB3 and CM1 each with designated services. Could those services be safely installed on one machine instead of two? Why choose to split the SQL and Database Services, from the Primary Site Server, Management Server, and Web

How to add second A/P Down Payment or A/P Reserve Invocie
Hi
A/P with following terms:
- 30% Down Payment after issuing PO
- 70% Payment before shipping
For the 30% DPM an A/P Down Payment Invoice is posted, and later paid - no issues so far.
Now, before scheduled shipping the rest of 70% is due. The correct thing would be to post a A/P Reserve Invoice.
However, the Total Down Payment selection dialog available in A/P Invoice is missing in the A/P Reserve Invoice.
As a workaround, direct posting of an A/P Invoice is possible, but this already does post all the items to stock which is not correct.
Creating another A/P Down Payment Invoice seems not to be the correct solution either.
How does SAP suggest to handle this?

I'd like to pick this up again and add some questions:
First, what is the purpose of posting the Final Invoice at the end (7.) - except for closing the GRPO?
Second, I have some issues with Freight cost.
If I already know freight cost when I create the PO and add it there, it is not shown in the DPM Request nor in the DPM Invoice. Since I am really paying it in step 5, I need to add it somehow - I did as 'divers-item' what I feel is somehow nor really correct - to the DPM invoice, otherwise I can not post the correct outgoing payment.
Is the final invoice the place to add the freight at its correct position? I'd like these freight cost to add to the item cost as well, as they do with any other usual PO.
Any suggestion on how to handle the freight cost, that usually is not known before the 2nd (70%) payment?

thanksYes you can add a second directory - if you look at your enterprise parameters, you'll see that there's an url for the directory. Enter that url into your webbrowser.. you'll see it's a regular CiscoIpPhoneMenu.. so you an create a page like that but with a second entry, and then the second directory will also be listed when you press the directory key.
