SCCM 2012 R2 - Last Enforcement State is Non-Compliant

Hi,
I deployed Windows updates to my Desktop collection as Requred updates. Then, I run summarization and saw various last enforcement states: compliant, unknown and
in progress (including downloading, installing, reboot required etc).
Then I deployed Windows updates to my Servers collection as Available updates. In this case, I see in
In Progress section only Non-Compliant status. No records about Reboot required state etc. I ran many times the Software Update cycle on client, but no changes.
In but deployments I set Message level on Detailed.
Is it a normal behaviour for Available updates?

Because the SU are set to available, the SU will not automatically download and apply, therefore you are less likely to see anything but non-compliant and compliant.
Yes there is a small chance that you will see other status messages but that is strictly a timing issue. As you happened to run the report at the exact moment that someone is installing the SU on a server.

  • SCCM 2012 Clients in Inactive state

    Dear All,
Recently non-active collection was accidentally deleted. In current state in our infrastructure we have around 6000 client machines out of which almost 5900 machines are under inactive state. If i check the agent time under properties it seems to be ok.I am
done rebooting the servers and repair for the client systems also checked log files. But still the client machines are under inactive and count is increasing.
Also the packages are stuck in waiting for content and in progress state. Also there are replication issues between sites how do i go about solving it.
Require urgent suggestions on the same as to how to proceed further.
    Thanks...

    Hi,
I concur with Torsten, you need to find the root cause.
Normally, the status will change once the clients send heartbeat again.
Or, you could use the command below to trigger “Heartbeat Discovery Cycle” on the remote client.
Invoke-WmiMethod -Computer xxxxxx -Namespace root\ccm -Class sms_client -Name TriggerSchedule "{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000003}"

  • Getting "Error: 0x80070654" when trying to install SCCM 2012 R2 Console from Software Center

    What I did:
Created a Package Source share on the Site Server
Gave the Package Source Share the following Share permissions: SCCM Admins: Full Control, Domain Computers: Full Control, Local Admins: Full Control.
Copied the "Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\tools\ConsoleSetup" folder to my package source (Since the Package Source is actually on the site server, I just copied the ConsoleSetup folder to it that is on the same drive)
Created a package and a Standard Program
    Command line: ConsoleSetup.exe
I deploy it to my collection
Run Machine Policy and Reevaluation on my Right Click Tools
Go to one of my clients and open up Software Center and click the Install button
    It fails with ""Error: 0x80070654"
I open up execmgr.log on the client using CMTrace and I use the error lookup tool and it shows that the 0x80070654 error is "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer
    package"
I also see a red highlighted line in the execmgr.log file with the following entry: "Script for Package:PRI00013, Program: SCCM 2012 R2 Management Console failed with exit code 2147944020"
I can run ConsoleSetup.exe using a command line to the package source.

  • MBAM 2.5 integrated with SCCM 2012 SP1 compliance issue

    Hi,
I have installed MBAM 2.5 in a SCCM integrated topology. GPO for encryption on the OS drive only have been deployed and encryption completed using the MBAM client. When running the compliance report and evaluating using the SCCM client the compliance comes
back as non-compliant. I have tried several tweaks to the GPO but had no luck getting it to report as compliant. Using the dashboard report to try and pin point why it is non-compliant shows as non-compliant but using the reasons in the top right corner all
    have 0 instances.
Is there a log file on the local system that can tell me what aspect is causing the status?

In the Event Viewer, there is MBAM node, you will find all MBAM client events there.
Also, review your GPO and see what encryption types are allowed and which are required. Maybe one reason would be, that your GPO requires something, which your client hasn´t done yet, like PIN code.
I´ve seen issues with not being compliant to policy before, and there was some explanations of this, if you google around. I´m also intrested to get knowing this, because I couldn´t solve this compliance issue.
For customer reporting, I just did query in SCCM where I listed ecrypted status and drive letters, that was a "customized report method" to tell customer, are all their Computers encrypted or not.

  • Enforcement State Codes in SCCM 2012

    Hi,
You could have a look on the Enforcement State Message ID table in the following blog.

  • Enforcement State Unknown issue in SCCM 2012 Patch management report.

Software updates are installed on machine. All updates shown in updates history, but machine not reporting back as Complaint. It showing in Enforcement State Unknown. Please help to resolve the issue.

    Hi,
Have you tried to "Run Summarization" while right click the software update group?
If it still shows unknown, please check StateMessage.log on a client that updates show unknown to see whether the state messages have been forwarded successfully.
    Best Regards,

  • Need to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for Count of Licenses by License Status

I want to make collection Query statement by sccm 2012 sp1 for all windows activated and all non-activated windows.
    Ahmed Sherif

Have a look at the Software Licensing Product attribute classes when creating a Query - remember to choose
System Ressource when creating the Query. You would have to enable this class to be collected during Hardware Inventory. Go to
Client Settings -> Hardware Inventory ->
Set Classes -> Select Software Licensing Product.
This Class is part of the Asset Intelligence classes so you could enable it from there as well.
Another way to accomplish is to use Compliance Settings to get this information.
Create a Configuration item that query the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class, if you are using XP and the
    SoftwareLicensingProduct class for later os´s
Add this Configuration Item to a Baseline ad deploy it to your Collections as needed.
When the Baseline has been evaluated you can use this information to create query
Machines reported as compliant is actived and machines reported as Non-Compliant is not activated.
You can read about the Win32_WindowsProductActivation WMI Class here:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394520(v=vs.85).aspx
    and the SoftwareLicensingProduct here:

  • Detection State 'Unknown' in SCCM 2012 Software Compliance Report

My management is looking for windows patches compliance reports from SCCM 2012
When I am trying to prepare Compliance Reports with SCCM 2012 for windows patches, I am noticing that I have lots of patches, where "Unknown" state is showing against many Windows Patches. I was expecting the reports to show “Not Required"
    instead of "Unknown".
Please tell me, where the issue might be and how to rectify it.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply Jorgen. Is there anyway I can initiate a " Software Update Scan on all Clients from SCCM Console? If yes, please let me steps- how?
As a test, I run "Software scan from a client and client report back to server. However on WindowsUpdates.log I can see some unhappy logs.
Does it mean that WSUS server and clients are having some issue?

Did you create a software metering rule for each software title? if not then you need you do that first and it will take over a week before you see results.
Also keep in mind that your query will only find x86 software titles.

  • SCCM 2012 does not find the last signature of SCEP

Hi, we have installed SCCM 2012 with SCEP as our antivirus, all clients use the SCCM to download the signature, the alternate sources has been unmarked, and only we  have selected SCCM and WSUS to download the updates.
In SCCM 2012 we have created the ADR to search and download ForeFront EndPoint Protection 2010 Security Updates. The server downloads the packages everyday at 01:00 a.m. (local time) and start to distribute to all DP at 03:00 a.m. The clients start to retrieve
when they are switched on or from 08:00 a.m. and verify new signatures every hour from them.
But the clients have the SCEP client update to 2 or 3 days ago! When we check the packages downloaded we note that the last package was not downloaded. This is the problem what we have. How can we solve this?
    Raulito

Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
Have you confirmed that your ADR is running correctly?

  • SCCM 2012 r2 Deploy USMT Don´t Restore User State

    Hi everybody
I am migrating my computers from Win Xp to Windows 8.1,
with SCCM 2012 R2 with HardLink, my problem is that USMT does not restore the user state on all my computers, it does in some and not in others. the only difenrecia between the teams is the computer model and brand (Hp and Dell).
I use USMT 5.0 to capture the user state running on Xp and restored with USMT 6.3 for Win 8.1 (Now run the hotfix from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2910552 and it´s work )
Also try SMP, capture user state ... but not restores either ...
Anyone have any idea what might be happening

  • Why do some Security Updates get flagged by SCCM 2012 as "Not Required" when the Bulletin ID states they are?

    Hiya
We've just pushed all updates from the March patch Tuesday Security Bulletin to our test Workstations/Servers (using SCCM 2012 R2)
One of the patches (MS14-013 - KB2929961) hasn't applied to a selection of 2008 R2 and 2012 Servers, but according to the Bulletin notes for this it is applicable to both. It has applied to my Windows 8 boxes.
The servers don't already have this applied, its not a superseded update and SCCM has flagged this as "Required" for x64 versions of Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 but "Not required" for any servers.
Bulletin ID states its applicable to all except Itanium based editions - https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/security/bulletin/ms14-013
If I download the update and try to run it manually on the servers I get "The update is not applicable to your computer"
So it looks as though the WUAgent and SCCM compliance are reporting correctly, but that the Bulletin ID isn't entirely correct??
Has anyone else found this? We use the Bulletin IDs for monthly meetings on what we're patching and what system it will affect so causes a lot of confusion with system owners when a patch doesn't apply that they're expecting to get applied.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Without any indepth investigation if I am not mistaking the update is for Directshow and that component is installed with the Desktop Experience on the server OS's, and therefor the update is not applicable on the servers..
    Could that be the case?

    Jörgen
