SCCM 2012 R2 - List of IE versions report

Hi all,
I am trying to create a SCCM 2012 R2 report that tells me what versions of IE are on the machines. Its not so much an issue for installed versions but I also want to know the versions of IE that are part of the operating system. Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
Thanks

If all you are trying to do is determine what version of IE comes with each OS then I'm sure that there is a wiki page for that.  If you are trying to get the details what version of IE is currently installed then Torsten suggest will work.

and list all VMs for each physical server.

    Hi,
there is no such builtin report but you can easily crete one as all information is in the database.

  • Create a query in SCCM 2012 R2 for NIC Driver Version

    Hello,
Is there a way to create a query for the specific NIC driver versions with SCCM 2012 R2? For example I can do this and other descriptors for video i.e.,
    select SMS_R_System.Name, SMS_R_System.LastLogonUserName, SMS_R_System.HardwareID, SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Manufacturer, SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Model, SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER.DriverVersion, SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER.Description, SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER.VideoProcessor
    from  SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM on SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId inner join SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER on SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER.ResourceID = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.Model
like "HP EliteBook Revolve 810 G2" and SMS_G_System_VIDEO_CONTROLLER.Description like "%intel%"
Is there a script that will give the version for NICs?
    Thanks Bill

  • SCCM 2012 package list

Is it possible to export the list of the packages in sccm2012 or do I need to use reporting?
In 2007  it seemed relatively straight forward - Software Distribution | Packages right click View | Export list.....

That is certainly an easy way to get that info.  However I was wondering if there is a report or other method that can be used.  My goal is to have a report that will list all packages currently in SCCM 2012, and make it a subscription so it can
be automatically emailed out every week.  This is useful for our application team to be aware of what apps they need to be supporting.
    Thanks.

  • XML errors when running specific reports in SCCM 2012, using SQL Server 2008 R2 Reporting Services

I've posted this to the SCCM 2012 forum and only received one response so far that states that this is a known issue that has been discussed before and isn't easy to fix;  I was not given any actual solution either.  Since this involves SSRS I
thought I would try my luck here as well.
I'm having almost exactly the same problem as is referenced in this article:  http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/uk/sqlreportingservices/thread/587a3319-bc54-4d30-bb3f-bb90a0c6ec50.  When
I try to run either of these reports (Computers with specific software registered in Add Remove Programs; Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs) I receive the XML error shown in the attached screenshot.  I'm fairly
sure the problem is the same as the other admin was experiencing and I just need to remove the unprintable characters (of the application name) from the dbo.v_Add_Remove_Program column.
The error references 0xFFFF but I could not find what that exactly translates too, other than it appears to be at the end of the spectrum for Unicode characters.  I used the following sql query to search for the 0xFFFF entry, but no results were found:
    use CM_UV2
    Select distinct
     CHARINDEX(cast(0xFFFF as varchar(1)),DisplayName0),
     DisplayName0
    from
     dbo.v_Add_Remove_Programs
    Where
     CHARINDEX(cast(0xFFFF as varchar(1)),DisplayName0) > 0
When I used the original hex value of 0x28 I get plenty of results returned with "(" in them so the query seems sound.  One of the articles I was searching mentioned running the query manually using the Management Studio and looking for strange characters
there but I'm not sure how to do that.
Basically I just need help finding the offending character and removing it.  I also need to be able to replicate this for other strings as this looks like an error that will reoccur whenever any new software appears that has weird encoding in the title.
Thank you in advance for any help given.

    Hi Uber,
This is a known issue that error occurs when running report "Count of instances of specific software registered with Add or Remove Programs" due to non-printable characters for XML. Based on internal research, the hotfix for this issue will be
included in the System Center 2012 Configuration Manager Service Pack 1.
As a workaround, you can remove the nonprintable character populated into the report parameter by referring to the following KB article:
    http://support.microsoft.com/KB/914159
    Hope this helps.

So to be clear you have Done both the Mofcomp and Added the correct account to the Windows Authorization Access Group?
What is version of SQL are you using?
Is SSRS remote or local to CM12?
What service account are you using for SSRS?
Bases on the error message you are getting this within the console, Does the native SSRS report work? BTW I never recommend accessing the report via the console.

  • Configuring Reporting services for SCCM 2012

    Hi,
I just finish create SQL reporting services ( configure Database, report manager URL) in SQL 2008 R2 for SCCM 2012. When I open the Report option in SCCM console (Monitoring --> Report), no report listed there and then I try to add in Reporting service
point for it, but get an error message
"There is a problem connecting to the specific reporting server. Please check the connection and make sure SQL reporting service is running on the specified server"
I manually browse to http://sqlserver/reportserver or
http://sqlserver/reports , that is no any folder exist there (I assume when I configure reporting service it will automatic create a folder for it with all report inside?). Anyone can guide me on how to solve this issue?
    Regards,

  • How to show a filter of the values in SCCM 2012 report?

I didn't see a forum for SCCM 2012 reporting, only SCCM 2007 Reporting, so I hope I am posting in the correct forum for this.
We upgraded to SCCM 2012 R2 and when running a report and entering values we can no longer type in a filter and then see a filtered list of values like in SCCM 2007.
Is there a solution for this?  This was very useful especially in the Add/Remove report because many times we don't know exactly what to enter.
Below is a snapshot of what we did in SCCM 2007.

Garth, unfortunately, I don't.   I was fair at SCCM 2007 reporting and modifying SQL statements, but it seems everything has changed with SCCM 2012 reporting.  For the specific SCCM 2012 report I mentioned,  "Computers with specific software
registered in Add Remove Programs", is there some code I could paste in somewhere to get it to operate like the SCCM 2007 report?
Are you using BIDS or Report Builder. (Keep in mind that I recommend BIDS over RP)
    Here are the basic steps:
Review the SQL for the Prompt
Add a variable to the prompt
Import; refresh the SQL query within the dataset
Move that the new variable is BEFORE the existing variable
Enter in the Prompt text “Enter computer filer”
Test to make sure everything is nice
    Upload the report.

  • SCCM 2012 report on computers with local shares and share permissions

Very new to SCCM 2012, want to put together a report to show computers with local shares and the permissions on those shares (for security purposes, need to investigate any systems that have open shares_.
Managed to add and now collecting information that populates v_gs_share and I have a handle on the report itself, just wondering how to collect the share permissions - I've seen other qustions on the boards that are similar but reference earlier versions
of SCCM so wondering how to do it in 2012.
    Thanks

So, where are you at?  The script is running, and the clients have the data in their local WMI namespace, root\cimv2\sms_sharepermissions ?
So all that's left is to modify hardware inventory to pull that custom WMI Namespace in?  If so, it's not too horrid.  Take note of a workstation (or server) to which you have remote rights to; and which has run the script, so that on THAT specific
    machine, root\cimv2\SMS_SharePermissions exists.
In your CM12 Console, Administration, Client Settings.  Right-click "Default Client Settings", Properties.  On the left, select "hardware inventory".  then on the right, Set classes..., now the fun part.
    Add...
Connect..., and put in ThatServerOrWorkstation (for computername), and wmi namespace is root\cimv2.  Click the option "recursive", Connect.  (the trick here is rights to the target).
From the results, it might be easiest to click on "classname" at the top for sorting, then go find SMS_SharePermissions.  Select that, ok ok ok ok (however many times you need to agree); and... we're done here.  Sit and wait for inventory to report
that data up.  If you're paranoid, you can monitor dataldr.log; and force policy refreshes and hinv deltas on some boxes; but the key is patience.  if you think you've waited long enough; you probably haven't.  ;)

  • Constructing Customize Report - SCCM 2012 R2

    Hello, everybody.
I have a great difficulty. My difficulty is when have to customize report.
Someone would have some stuff to help me, or tell me how do I start, how can I understand these "FROM, SELECT, and others .."?
Leveraging ... I need the following reports:
1 - I need a custom report metering software to bring me the following:
Hostname, User, Application Name, Full use, Version, Serial, Installation Date, Last Accessed
2 - I need a custom report that will bring the following:
    Hostname, and Domain User.
There is a report hardware (Computer with a specific workgroup or domain) that I put%% and it shows me what I asked, but this only happens in SCCM 2007. In 2012 it will not let me put%% and forces me to choose a domain.
    Atenciosamente Julio Araujo

    Hi
In order to get the report "Computers with a specific workgroup or domain" like it did in SCCM 2007 you would have to do the following:
    1. right-click the report in SCCM 2012 and select edit. The report should be loaded in Report Builder 3.0
    2. In Report Builder, expand Parameters, right-click
variable and then select parameter Properties
    3. In the Report Parameters Properties window, click Available Values
and then select None and click OK
    4. In Report Builder, click Run. You should now be able to input a wildcard in stead of choosing the domain or workgroup
    5. Save the Report under a new name so you do not overwrite the original.
If you want to learn how to author reports in SQL Reporting Services - I would recommend this book:
    http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Server-2012-Reporting-Services-ebook/dp/B007L379VW/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1400319571&sr=1-1&keywords=reporting+services
It is not a SCCM 2012 book but a lot of the Things that you learn will still be of great value when you author reports in SCCM 2012.
As for your wish for a custom Software Metering report that would be more complicated as I can see that your want serial in that report. I am guessing that you mean the serial number for the application and that is not collected by ConfigMgr 2012 by default.

  • How to determine linked reports of a SCCM 2012 Report

    Hi,
My end objective is to get the SQL statement for a report - 'Deployment that target a computer'.
I can see SQL statements through Data sets in Report Builder. those SQL Statements are accepting few parameters from some linked report i believe. I want to determine the values of those linked parameters.
let me know how can we check what are the linked reports for a particular report in SCCM 2012
    Sonam Rastogi

You could open a Report in Report Builder, right click on one of the field in the Report and click properties. There under Action you should see if the field is linked to another report.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Deployment assistance and guide lines required.

    Hi All,
We have purchased the system center suit and planed to deploy the below products in our environment.
SCOM - Plan already made and architecture is ready with no issues
    SCCM - In planning state.
We are planning to use the same SQL server for both SCOM and SCCM, Which is a SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1 CU6. So the database engine service is available to host our database.
But the Business has said we need to deploy reporting on another machine which may be a SQL 2012 SP1.
What i want to know is does SCCM 2012 R2 support using different versions of SQL server for its features? As i see there is no documentation for this.
How ever MS has given the document for SCOM that it is not supported and we need to use the same version of SQL for all the features.
Also is SQL Express edition supported for other Primary sites if i use a licensed SQL in my CAS ?
Does any one have an idea on SCCM 2012 R2 for the above ?
    Gautam.75801

    Thank you very Grath.
Also my last and the remaining question is about the SQL Server version inter operability.
Does using different versions of SQL work in SCCM ? i.E I use DB Engine SQL 2008 R2 SP1 CU6 and if i use SQL 2012 R2 for reporting.
Will this work in SCCM ? As for SCOM MS has said this in there document that using different versions of SQL's for features is not supported.
So what is the case with SCCM is it the same or is it supported ?
As the Microsoft documents do not talk about this question.
The reason i asked is as the business does not have cost for Hardware for a SQL server and they are asking to use a SQL server in another domain for DB engine.
And another SQL server for reporting as the DB engine server does not have reporting.

If the command-line you gave ConfigMgr runs successfully, there's not anything else ConfigMgr can do. Thus the logs above don't add any value. Thus, the issue lies with the MSI. Where did you get it from? Have you tried running it with the /l*v command-line
option to add verbose logging and then reviewed this log file? Have you tried manually testing using the System account (done using psexec) to more closely emulate how ConfigMgr invokes the command-line?
