SCCM 2012 R2 sp1 cu1 ccmsetup.exe still 5.00.7958.1000

I downloaded sccm 2012 r2 sp1 cu1.  I applied the server update to our Primary server.  I also pushed out the client update (5.00.7958.1203) to all of our servers.  But I have noticed that any new servers are still showing client version as
5.00.7958.1000.  I checked the version of ccmsetup.exe on our Sccm primary server and it is showing 5.00.7958.1000.  I would have thought when I applied the sccm 2012 r2 sp1 cu1 server update to the primary server it would have updated the ccmsetup.exe
to version 5.00.7958.1203.  I know with time the client on new boxes will be updated with the client update push I have running on all windows server collection, but why not just have the most current version from the start.  I searched for
an updated copy of ccmset.exe on the primary server, but never found it.  I checked MS site for the most current version of sccm 2012 client install, but could find that either.  Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Mark

Nope. CU1 is simple an update that must be layered on top of the R2 client. You can do this using either SCUP or a program deployment using the package/program that was created during the CU setup.

As a side note, this is something on most folks top 10 list of things they want changed but don't count on anything anytime soon.

  • Problem to generat an report on an SSRS for SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. I got error has occurred during report processing.

    Hi,
Problem to generat an report on an SSRS for SCCM 2012 R2 SP1. I got error has occurred during report processing.
In general it is no problem to generat SSRS reports, but an custom one i get issue with.
    The Error:
    An
error has occurred during report processing. (rsProcessingAborted)
    Query
execution failed for dataset 'DataSet1'. (rsErrorExecutingCommand)
    ExecuteReader:
CommandText property has not been initialized

    Hi SaiTech,
According to your description, when you render report on SCCM 2012 R2, you got the error message.
According to my knowledge, the issue can be caused by following reasons:
Select permission not granted to ConfigMgr reporting account. We need to open the SQL management console and open the properties dialog box of configmgr db, grant select and execute permission to ConfigMgr reporting account.
Reporting Services Web Service URL or Report Manager is false. Make sure Web Service URL and Report Manager URL are correct. Restart SMS_Executive service and reinstall Reporting Service Point, then please render the report again.
Report timeout. Increase query and report timeout.
If the problem remain unresolved, please provide detailed information of SRSRP.log (default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft  and Configuration Manager\Logs) and reporting services error log(default location: %programfiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\<SQL
Server Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles), it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.
If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • WinPE Error Capture and Deploy Win7 - SCCM 2012 R2 w/ CU1

    Hi Forum
Deploy and Capture: Windows 7 x64
SCCM Primary single site server: Server 2012 R2
    Version: SCCM 2012 R2 w/ CU1
Environment is Hyper-V on Windows 8.1, deploying to a Gen1 VM with a legacy adapter.
I am running into an issue whilst building a lab environment. I have built a Capture and Deploy TS (using the standard TS, ie not MDT although this is integrated) and deployed to an imported machine using the MAC address via PXE. Custom Client package has
been created and put against the TS.
The machine picks up the PXE response and boots into the SCCM WinPE environment and I choose the TS. The only currently available TS is the Build and Capture.
It runs through the TS restarting at various points as expected and then after the Client Manager package is installed it restarts and runs the TS... at this point it starts saying. "Initiating Hardware Devices.." (or something to that effect).
It does this for about 15 seconds before I get this error:
Windows PE initialization failed with error code 0x8022001B
    Seen here:
I am unable to get the cmd prompt up at this point and it will restart and carry on a normal build, no TS running, meaning no capture.
If any can advise, please do.
    Thanks in advance
    NN

Hyper-V should work fine without any drivers injected, and you did your VM correctly.
During this error, what you see in a back ground, ConfMgr wallpaper or Windows 7 black first-run screen "preparing/first run"? I´m just thinking, is there any chance, that you have additional restart step set to boot to WinPE, instead of booting
    to default OS?
Otherwise, you will need to be able to Access CMD with F8 for more troubleshooting. Make sure you have F8 command Support enabled on boot image and re-distrubute it. Or create new boot image as Peter suggested.

  • SCCM 2012 r2 with CU1 - XP Refresh

    Hi Everyone,
Hoping someone out there can assist with this. I am doing a refresh for XP to win7.  I have read
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/6e934990-999a-4367-860a-3ce4e5eda956/sccm-2012-r2-error-0x800700c1?forum=configmanagerosd
    and
    http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9418-referesh-task-sequence-from-xp-fails-on-sccm-2012-r2/
none of these work.  I took a look at this and I was able to get pass the staging of the boot image
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/brandonlinton/archive/2013/06/21/how-to-create-and-import-a-winpe-3-1-boot-image-for-use-in-configmgr-2012-sp1-cu2.aspx
however when the machine rebooted I received this.  I also inject the nic drivers using dism and still the same issue. Any idea of a fix or how to go about refresh for
    XP using sccm 2012 r2?
    thanks all!

    Hi,
Also ran into this issue, you're encountering this error because some components are missing in your WinPE image.
Note that this refresh scenario is not supported, however you can get this  to work by manually customizing (especially importing WMI component) your WinPE image
    before importing it ConfigMgr.
I made the script below, ran in on a base WinPE image from WADK for Windows 8 (a 6.2 version image so) to make it work (sorry for french comments Inside but I'm sure you'll get it :) ):

  • SCCM 2012 after SP1 replication link has failed

    Hi guys,
after install SP1 on SCCM 2012 I have problem with Global Data Replication status and Site Data replication status on P02. Where I have C01 and P01, P02, P03, P04.  P02 is the only one which is broken more. Rest of primary sites have ok
    Global Data Replication status.
Site P02 is after 1 week from patch console still in Read Only mode rcmctrl.log says: The current site status: ReplicationMaintenance.
    CAS C01 have in rcmctrl.log
ERROR: Replication group "General_Site_Data" has failed to initialize for subscribing site C01, setting link state to Error.
Retry for process replication is requested.
Cleaning the RCM inbox if there are any *.RCM files for further change notifications....
Rcm control is waiting for file change notification or timeout after 60 seconds.
    No connector role installed
    DRS change application started.
Site is NOT active, so not calling the DrsActivation procedures on DRSSite queue.
replmgr.log says nothing special to be mentioned.
and when I run Replication Link Analyzer on C01 against Link to P02 it says :\
    ReplicationAnalysis.xml:
Replication initialization is in progress for replication groups EndpointProtection_Site, Medium_Priority_Site, Operational_Data, General_Site_Data, MDM_SiteSpecial, MDM_Site. Found replication groups Replication Configuration that needs to be re-initialized.

Target site C01 is in maintenance mode. Not checking transmission messages sent to queue ConfigMgrDRSQueue. Target site C01 is in maintenance mode. Not checking transmission messages sent to queue ConfigMgrDRSQueue
so I need to somehow quit this maintenance mode. following this link did not helped me:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/minfangl/archive/2012/05/16/tips-for-troubleshooting-sc-2012-configuration-manager-data-replication-service-drs.aspx
I restarted all these 5 servers with no luck.
thank you for any hint/ help

    Jaromir

in my case in rcmctr.log is visible on CAS and primary site this message: ERROR: Replication group "General_Site_Data" has failed to initialize for subscribing site C01, setting link state to Error.
but today we moved in this situation and my P02 2nd primary site fall out from maintenance mode and a lot of replication happened but General_Site_data still remain in problem.
steps taken were: goto monitoring node > database replication > choose link which has problem and on the bottom check Initialization Detail
you can see which replication Group has problem.
Then in SQl server management studio we run following command with relevant name of Sites and Replication Group which are affected in my case
      select * from RCM_DrsInitializationTracking
     where replicationGroup = 'General_Site_data' AND SiteFulfilling='P02'
    it will show you status
then this update query will force that replication group to start replicate(parameter 7):
we run this many times against same or different replication groups which ahd problems
    update RCM_DrsInitializationTracking set InitializationStatus = 7 where ReplicationGroup = 'general_site_data' and SiteRequesting = 'C01' and SiteFulfilling = 'P02'
it's still not win but we are moving forward. And it doesn't has to be same issue like you have but it can point you to somewhere...

  • SCCM 2012 Console (SP1 with CU4)

I am trying to package the SCCM 2012 console (with SP1) and with and without CU4.  Both packages give me the following error in the event log. 'the virtual application.....could not be started because the App-V subsystem 'Virtual FileSystem' could not

I've re-sequenced the app, had another package create a different package too and both get the same error.

  • WMI Corruption - SCCM 2012 - Win7 SP1

    Hi all,
So we are in the process of switching to Configuration Manager 2012 and we are now having MANY instances of WMI corruption on user workstations. The OS we are deploying is Win 7 SP1.
    Symptoms:
-Keeping users from logging in (heavily delayed or not at all), spinning at the blue login screen.
    -Computer hangs at logoff/shutdown.
-NIC lags on recognizing internet connection at startup.
-Programs running slow and crashing (Includes MS Office and IE).
-Windows crashing and getting black screens.
    Fixes we've tried:
-Deleting all expired updates from Configuration Manager.
-Consolidating software update groups. When originally installed, someone configured it so every update would create it's own update group. After fixing this, we saw a decrease in affected machines.
-Reseting the repositroy. This is pretty much putting a band-aid on the problem. It get's users to be able to get functional again while we continue to troubleshoot the underlying problem. We've tried salavaging the repository, but it hardly if ever completes
    successfully.
-Applying the following hotfixes from Microsoft, after the repository has been reset. This method is only on about 1% of the machines on our network and is still in testing phase.
2705357      The WMI process stops sending events to
WMI clients from a Windows 7-based or Windows Server 2008 R2-based server
    2692929      "0x80041001" error when the
Win32_Environment WMI class is queried by multiple requestors in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2
2617858      Unexpectedly slow startup or logon process
in Windows Server 2008 R2 or in Windows 7
    2465990      "0x80041002 (WBEM_E_NOT_FOUND)"
error occurs when you try to open a WMI namespace on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
2492536      Msinfo32.exe takes a long time to display
or export system information on a computer that has many MSI-X-supported devices and that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
    2578159-
When you log on to a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7, the logon process stops responding and a blue swirl is shown on the Welcome screen indefinitely. After some time, the computer stops responding to any network-related commands.
You must forcibly restart the computer to recover from this issue.
This issue occurs because of a race condition between the Windows Event Log service and the Event Tracing for Windows
(ETW) tracing functions. When the race condition occurs, it causes a deadlock situation. This deadlock situation then causes the Winlogon.exe process to become unresponsive.
2639505- Assume that you run a service which queries the Win32_StartupCommand Windows
Management Instrumentation (WMI) class on a computer that is running Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2.
In this situation, all loaded user profiles occasionally cannot be unloaded successfully after the WMI query is finished. If the number of unloaded user profiles keeps increasing, the system resources may be exhausted. For example,
the virtual address control block (VACB) may be exhausted.
    2639077-
Handle leak in Svchost.exe when a WMI query is triggered by using the Win32_PowerSettingCapabilities class in Windows 7 or in Windows
    Server 2008 R2
2547244-The WMI service and the WMI providers stop responding
when you use WMI performance classes to monitor performance on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2
Thanks in advance for any help!

    -Fails to boot from NIC.
Booting from NIC (are you talking about PXE boot?) has nothing to do with WMI at all. There's no OS involved. So *I* do not see a connection between WMI and PXE.
Have you already tried excluding the WBEM directory from antivirus scans? How are the WMI memory limits configured? See
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/askperf/archive/2008/09/16/memory-and-handle-quotas-in-the-wmi-provider-service.aspx as a starting point.

  • SCCM 2012 R2 updates - CU1, CU2, MDT 2013

    Hi All,
Looking at upgrading to CU1 & CU2. Are there any know issues or prerequisites I need to look out for? Is it worth upgrading?
Also I see MDT 2013 is available. Is it worth upgrading from 2012?

    Hi,
There is a known issue described in "Description of Cumulative Update 2 for System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager". You could have a look.
"The SQL update part of the cumulative update installation process may return a warning message if you manage mobile devices by using Configuration Manager and Windows Intune. This message does not stop the installation process. However, additional
steps will be required to make sure that the site database is fully updated."

  • SCCM report data are missing inside report since Update SCCM 2012 to R2 Cu1

    Hi All,
I encountered an issue regarding certains SCCM reports after migrating to SCCM R2 CU1.
After this upgrade, I've already encountered some issues on differents reports .. reports where we need to select a collection or patches or computers from a drop list (all theses drop list were empty).
I resolved these issues by adding the "read" security permission in the security role dedicated to our Support Team. (Read permission is now applied on Collections, Packages ect...)
This sort of report works well now.
But this same Team show me another issue where I did not find any resolution.
In the categorie called "Hardware - General", we have a report named "Computer information for a specific computer" where, as you know, we normally could find some informations regarding a computer.
In fact, the only informations which are visible through this report are the NetbiosName,Username, Domain User & computer and IP adress.
All others informations are not displayed.
If I use this report with a user who has admin rights in SCCM (which is not the fact with my support team of course) ...all informations are displayed normally.
It seems that it looks like the first read rights issue that I encountered at the beginning, but I did not find where could be the cause of this issue
Does anyone has already seen this sort of issue ?

In CM12R2 RBA is now enabled for report. So this tell me that you have NOT grant the support team access to the data and therefore this is normal.
There is a quick fix for this see Brian post.

  • SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1 to R2 Boot Images Migration What steps to be consider

We are Migrating SCCm 2012 to SP1 then to R2…
My question would be specific to Boot images.
We are in RTM edition, we have different boot images got created by our Imaging guys, These boot Images also have network/mass storage drivers are added along with some WINPE Back Group screen wallpaper, when cross checked the boot image properties. And
finally these the Boot Images are distributed to all the required distribution points.
Help me to understand what are the action steps to be taken now? In the process of RTM to SP1 and R2
HunBoy Started learning from this page

From RTM to SP1, the upgrade process will upgrade your WinPE 3.x boot images to WinPE 4.0 (if it can). From SP1 to R2, the upgrade process will not upgrade your boot images but will instead create new ones. Only WinPE 5.0 and WinPE 3.1 boot images are supported
by R2 -- the 3.1 boot images are meant for supporting XP since WInPE 5.0 doesn't support XP (God help you if you're still on XP though).
Thus, you need to get your "imaging" guys to create new WinPE 5.0 boot images.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 + WSUS + Server 2012 + SQL Server 2012

    Hi all;
I installed SCCM 2012 with Sp1 for my site server and everything is going well.. And than i installed the WSUS role on my Windows Server 2012 and SCCM 2012 SP1 it gave an error message which is "Fatal Error: The schema version of the database is from a newer
version of WSUS than currently installed.  You must either patch your WSUS server to at least that version or drop the database." My database server is SQL Server 2012... Do you know any pathc for WSUS or SQL Server 2012 doesnt support WSUS yet???
    Thank You...
    MCT

Normally if you are going to install SCCM 2012 SP1 +Windows 2012 with SQL 2012, Then you better use the SQL 2012 sp1.
also when you are installing the WSUS version 6.2 which come with server 2012 make sure you leave the default settings as it is. it shows in the below article.
also when you are giving the path to save the WSUS contents make sure the drive you going to create the wsus folder and the place where you going to download the updates is having free disk space and its formatted with the NTFS volume. Also the service account
you are using for this configuration should have the admin rights to the location of the wsus folder you going to create,
    Thanks

  • SCCM 2012 R2 CU3 installation successfull but the Full Version number still is 5.00.7958.1000

    Hi Guys
I have a SCCM 2012R2 in Windows 2008R2 box with a Secondary Site also in Windows 2008R2. Before proceeding with the upgrade to CU3 I took a snapshot, installed Windows Management Framework 4.0 to get PowerShell 4.0 in order to run a health Check, all
    fine until this point.
I installed CU3 and checked that the value in CULevel in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\Setup is 3 and also check the
version that is displayed in the About System Center Configuration Manager dialog box is
    5.00.7958.1401
I checked the log file C:\Windows\Temp\cm12-r2cu3-kb2994331-x64-enu.log and all good in there as well. So it's fair to say the installation was successful..??
the next step was to upgrade my secondary site from the Primary site console, so I went to Administration / Site Configuration / Sites and when I right clicked my Primary Server to check its properties I realised that the Version number was still
5.00.7958.1000 and the option to upgrade my secondary site is greyed out.
I haven't been able to find any information regarding this issue, in fact I am not sure if is a technical issue or human issue :)
the questions are, how do I upgrade my secondary site and why the difference in between version?
    Regards
    Jesus Gonzalez

Works as dessigned. The site version number will only show the version of the latest major build, which is R2 in your case. The same with upgrading your secondary site, that's only possible via the console, with a major build. For upgrading your secondary
site you can now use the created package R2 CU3 - server update.

    select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System inner join SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM on SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.ResourceID
    = SMS_R_System.ResourceId where SMS_G_System_COMPUTER_SYSTEM.SystemType = "x64-based PC"
It doesn't give me anything (blank no computer names) even after I refresh the collection.
BUT, when I created under \Monitoring\Overview\Queries\Results for X64 (Servers & Workstations)
I could see the result of it.
Is it my SQL has problem? I'm using SQL 2012 SP1.
I even updated with CU2 now in Production but it still the same thing. I have no problem with this query above in my test environment.
Have you come across with this issue? Thanks, Reza

  • SCCM 2012 R2 Boot WIM DISM - Drivers Failing -hr:0xc0000135‏

    Hello OSD Experts,
I have upgraded my SCCM 2012 RTM to SP1(Not installed any Cumulative updates) then to SCCM 2012 R2 Successfully... I did not get any errors.
Before Upgrade my SCCM 2012 RTM/SP1 Images are removed from DP Targets.
Now my next high priority task is I wanted to integrate my Hardware models NIC & Mass Storage Drivers to my Boot Images, So that my OSD will work without any issues. But am getting errors, when I try
to add by DISM command to the Boot Images.
I have taken Default boot.wim file from SCCM 2012 R2 and copy pasted to my work location and ran the DISM command... however I am not successful in this for integration.
Has anyone have already have solution for this let me know.

    Hi,
You could use SCCM console to add these drivers. From the SCCM console, go to Operating Systems -> Drivers. Right click and select Import Drivers and follow the wizard. Or go to Operating Systems -> Boot Images -> Right click the boot image in question
-> select Properties. Select the Drivers tab and click on the add button on the right and then select the NIC drivers.
    Best Regards,

  • SMS Provider Locations Do Not Match - Problem installing SCCM 2012 R2 CU4

I have an SCCM 2012R2 CU1 site that has been upgraded from SCCM 2012 non-SP1, so I have gone from 2012 to 2012SP1 through CU5 and then to R2 and then to CU1.
Over the course of the life of this site, which has more than 10k clients and 10 Site Systems, we have installed roles, removed roles, moved roles and removed Site Systems.
I have also installed and removed SMS providers . . . which is where my issues begin.
The site properties in the console list 6 SMS Providers and even lists an SMS provider on a server that was retired and is no longer a Site System.  When I query WMI using the following VBS script it only returns the *ACTUAL* SMS Provider locations,
2 of the 6 listed in the GUI.
    On Error Resume Next
    Const ForReading = 1, ForWriting = 2, ForAppending = 8
    strComputer = "."
    Set oFS = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
    Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & strComputer & "\root\sms")
    If Err.Number <> 0 Then
    WScript.Echo "Cannot connect to WMI"
    WScript.Echo vbTab & "Error " & Err.Number & " - " & Err.Description
    End If
    Set oLog = oFS.OpenTextFile("C:\Temp\SMS_ProvList.log",ForAppending, True)
    If Err.Number <> 0 Then
WScript.Echo "Could not create output file"
    WScript.Echo vbTab & "Error " & Err.Number & " - " & Err.Description
    End If
    Set colItems = objWMIService.ExecQuery("SELECT * FROM SMS_ProviderLocation",,48)
    count = 0
    For Each objItem in colItems
        count = count + 1
        oLog.WriteLine "-----------------------------------"
        oLog.WriteLine Now()
        oLog.WriteLine "Provider instance " & count &  " : " & objItem.Machine
        oLog.WriteLine "NamespacePath : " & objItem.NamespacePath
        oLog.WriteLine ""
    Next
I have a test environment which has also gone through some growth over its lifetime and has had the same changes to SMS Providers made.  When I first attempted to install SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 in this test environment the installer continually failed the
prerequisite checker when querying the CU level of the SMS Providers.  The only way that I could get past that issue was by running a site maintenance task via the CM installer and installing an SMS Provider at the location that had previously been an
SMS Provider but I had uninstalled that role.
I do not want to have to do that in my production environment, and would not even be able to do so if I wanted as I have retired one of the servers listed and cannot re-provision that machine.
Any CM12 gurus out there with suggestions?  This strikes me as a standard MS problem when having multiple development teams working on a product/update and not having a standard location to check for configuration information (This is exactly the problem
when configuring DNS suffixes via GPO and not manually setting the GUI to match).
    Thanks!

The issue I have is that I cannot find the WMI class that holds the SMS Providers that are returned by the GUI.
I actually engaged MS Premier for a SCCM 2012 RAAS about 2 years ago and that was when the discrepancy first reared it's head.  The support person that I worked with couldn't give me a way of cleaning those entries at that point which is when I started
logging the locations to be sure that my maintenance task was really installing or removing the SMS Providers.
