Hi Jason
See below. The problem is that on some of our laptops not anywhere geographically close to our IT department, the laptop has been setup with 2 partitions and on some only with 1 partition (we used another deployment system 2 years ago), so I am trying
to prepare all our corporate laptops for Bitlocker encryption. The reason why I made this task sequence was to hit all those laptops that is not being reinstalled / installed again in the near future.
Do you have any suggestions, should it help to remove the cmd.exe /c in front of the Bitlocker cmd line ?
We have tried the MBAM solution, but in my opinion too many problems with the MBAM client.

  • Best practice - Heartbeat discovery and Clear Install Flag settings (SCCM client) - SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5

    Dear All,
    Is there any best practice to avoid having around 50 Clients, where the Client version number shows in the right side, but client doesn't show as installed, see attached screenshot.
    SCCM version is 2012 SP1 CU5 (5.00.7804.1600), Server, Admin console have been upgraded, clients is being pushed to SP1 CU5.
    Following settings is set:
    Heartbeat Discovery every 2nd day
    Clear Install Flag maintenance task is enabled - Client Rediscovery period is set to 21 days
    Client Installation settings
    Software Update-based client installation is not enabled
    Automatic site-wide client push installation is enabled.
    Any advise is appreciated

    Hi,
    I saw a similar case with yours. They clients were stuck in provisioning mode.
    "we finally figured out that the clients were stuck in provisioning mode causing them to stop reporting. There are two registry entries we changed under [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\CCM\CcmExec]:
    ProvisioningMode=false
    SystemTaskExcludes=*blank*
    When the clients were affected, ProvisioningMode was set to true and SystemTaskExcludes had several entries listed. After correcting those through a GPO and restarting the SMSAgentHost service the clients started reporting again."

  • Ipod getting unknown error code when plugging it in to itunes 9

    My ipod was restored with itunes 9, but after it's done it wont get recognized with itunes. Itunes says there is a unknown error code(OxE800000A). How do i get itunes to recognize my ipod. I have 3.1.2 firmware, its a 2nd generation, 8gb.

    Hi Demo, thank you for your suggestions.
    I've tried updating in the following conditions:
    1. "Over The Air" at one location;
    2. On a Windows computer running the latest version of iTunes at the same location;
    3. On Mavericks (10.9.4) running the latest version of iTunes (11.4 (18)) at another location;
    4. On Mavericks, latest iTunes over a VPN with a server location in US;
    5. On Mavericks, using a 3G connection shared from an iPhone;
    6. On Yosemite developer preview with a previous version of iTunes at the same location.
    I got the same results in most cases except for an occasional error with code 9; I'll try again in other conditions.
    Interestingly enough, I've successfully updated my devices to iOS 7.1.2 and to iOS8 GM without any issues at the same location but, of course, no two conditions are exactly the same

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5 PATCH Property

    I've recently updated my site from SCCM SP1 to SCCM SP1 CU5 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2978017) successfully.  I've verified through the registry that the Server is on CULevel 5 and
    the consoles have been updated.  In addition I have verified the MSP applies successfully and the clients report 5.00.7804.1600 for a client push through SCCM or manually running the patch.  The problem is during OSD.
    What I did was go to my original Client install folder under SMS_XXX folder.  I created a folder called "hotfixes" and then inside there a folder called "amd64" and "x86".  Inside their I copied "kb2978017.msp"
    to the X86 and the AMD64 folder.  I then updated the distribution points for the original client package (so they receive the new hotfixes folder I added).  From there I went in the task sequence and on the "Setup Windows and Configuration Manager"
    step I added the "Installation Properties" line as shown below:
    SMSMP=XXX.xxx.com PATCH="C:\_SMSTaskSequence\OSD\XXX00003\hotfixes\%PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%\kb2978017.msp"
    When the computer finishes imaging it still reports "5.00.7804.1000" and not the .1600 version.  All the guides I've seen mentioned using the PATCH= property and pointing it to the correct package ID number (I verified this).  Not sure
    what I'm doing wrong.  I did see an alternative of a step to manually copy the patch to the local drive with xcopy and then the Setup CM Client step to just call the local machine for the patch instead off this "C:\_SMSTaskSequence".  What
    has other peoples experience been?
    Be kind and Mark as Answer if I helped.

    Yes, I did copy the hotfixes to the client source folder (I checked the data source of the package in SCCM to ensure I was updating files/folders in correct directory) and then I right clicked the package in SCCM and selected Updated Distribution Points
    and verified they did get updated successfully.  I checked the CCMSetup.log after a machine is imaged and it reports at the top of the log the command run to install SCCM Client and it just shows CCMSetup.exe without my SMSMP= property or the PATCH= property.
      Its like the client install doesn't even recognize the commands I've used in the task sequence.  Attached is a picture of the step in SCCM with the Server and Site name blanked out for obvious reasons:

    Hi,
    That is as expected, the new tools require Configuration Manager 2012 R2 to work. From the download page of Configuration Manager 2012 R2 toolkit.
    "Note: Items with an * are new in the R2 Toolkit and require Microsoft System Center 2012 R2 Configuration Manager for full functionality.
    Server Based Tools
    * DP Job Manager - A tool that helps troubleshoot and manage ongoing content distribution jobs to Configuration Manager distribution points.
    * Collection Evaluation Viewer - A tool that assists in troubleshooting collection evaluation related issues by viewing collection evaluation details.
    * Content Library Explorer - A tool that assists in troubleshooting issues with and viewing the contents of the content library"
    So you need to upgrade to R2 before you can use the new tools.

    OSD, WinPE 3.0 and 802.1X work together like : http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/lakey81/archive/2011/07/06/configuring-802-1x-network-authentication-for-winpe-3-0-and-configmgr-deployments.aspx  , but ot's very confusing.
    does anybody have the same scenario with SCCM 2012, WinPE 5.0, and 802.1X . please help me.

    Hello,
    What confused you here? 802.1X authentication is to authenticate before sending network packages. That is why we need import netwrok profile to win pe for anthentication. The point is authenticate, so I think it won't be any difference between
    ConfigMgr 2012 and 2007.
    Another good article here:

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 errors when downloading updates

    Currently using SCCM 2012 SP1 with CU2 and I am having some update download issue with Automatic Deployment Rules.
    The Environment is:
      Server 2008 R2
      SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 (Upgraded from SCCM 2012 CU2)
    I created an Automatic Deployment Rule for Adobe Flash. Since I was having the same issue with Adobe Reader, when I published via SCUP to WSUS I chose not to sign the updates.
    After publishing to WSUS I then sync SCCM, I see the updates and then in the ADR I had it download the updates and I see this error:
    Authentication of file C:\Windows\TEMP\CABDEC5.tmp failed, error 0x800b0004 Software Updates Patch Downloader 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 3712 (0x0E80)
    ERROR: DownloadContentFiles() failed with hr=0x80073633 Software Updates Patch Downloader 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
    Failed to download the update from internet. Error = 13875 SMS_RULE_ENGINE 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
    Failed to download ContentID 16845337 for UpdateID 16841530. Error code = 13875 SMS_RULE_ENGINE 8/15/2013 6:49:43 PM 6876 (0x1ADC)
    Now the funny thing is if I go to the update itself within update group that Flash is a member I can right click it and choose download and the error doesn't occur.
    I observed that the UNC path for ADR Adobe flash, when the rule is ran, is populated with folders that have a name something like 44738297895427890.1 or 423154325378u867234789.1. I have come to realize that those are failed downloads. So for the
    heck of it I then right clicked the update itself and chose download and it downloaded without issue. Now I'm guessing that when I chose to download directly from the update maybe the system is getting the update from adobe and not from wherever the rule was
    trying to get it from.  I then see the .1 removed from the directory name and there are updates within them.
    Just for clarity here are the steps I go through from SCUP to Syncing...
    Log in to WSUS server
    Run SCUP as administrator
    Get notified there are updates from Adobe and let SCUP download updates
    Find the updates the specify the following publishing options
    Full Content
    Sign all software updates with a new publishing certificate .... (Is this necessary by the way?)
    Then click Next
    After that's done I then go to SCCM Manager Console and go to Software Updates and right click to Synchronize them.
    After that's done then I run the ADR for Adobe Flash and when it goes to download the updates that's when the error occurs.
    What am I missing?
    Also, while I wait for help I just recently added the WSUS SCUP certificate to the SCCM server to see if by chance that fixes stuff. If it does then I'll post the results of adding the certificate to the SCCM server.
    One other thing, is there a way to delete updates? When I was having this issue in the past, I went in to SCUP I marked the updates as expired and then deleted the updates. Went to SCCM and synchronized the updates and they went from not expired to expired
    then I waited, maybe 30 days or so before I could add the updates back in.
    Thanks for the help!

    Yes, I know this is an old post, but I’m trying to clean them up. Did you solve this problem, if so what was the solution?
    Have you seen the note at the bottom of this page about this error?

  • System task 'policyevaluator_unlock ' returned error code 0x8000fff in windows pacth deployment on windows 7 by sccm 2012 Sp1

    hi All,
    I have faced mentioned error in Win7's ccmexec.log file doing windows pacth deployment on windows 7 by sccm 2012 Sp1
    system task 'policyevaluator_unlock ' returned error code 0x8000fff
    Kirpal Singh

    Thanks for reporting this symptom. We investigated and found that this error occurs when user unlocks the workstation. Due to this error, ccmexec service doesn’t request for user required policies when user
    unlocks the workstation. We will investigate and address this symptom. Other than user unlock, all other user policy scenarios will be functioning as expected. The client will process user policies when user logs on as well as in the regular user policy polling
    schedule”.

  • SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 migrated DP shows package status "unknown"

    I have a SCCM 2012 SP1 CU4 environment and have shared SCCM 2007 distribution points.
    Today I migrated one of the DP's which seems to work well.
    However all my packages shows now the status "unknown" for this migrated DP.
    This is a problem which should be fixed in CU4 according to the CU4 description. But it is not :-(
    Any idea how to solve this ? R2 install ?

    Some additional information:
    I noticed that the package sources are still available at the "old" ditribution point share abd not on the new sccm 2012 distribution point share. When performing actions described in step 3 below the package becomes available on the distribution point
    share......then i guess i can remove the content from the "old" distribution point share ????
    I noticed that when a package got the status "unknown" for de migrated DP the following action fix the problem:
    --> i remove the DP from the package and immediately add it again, the package status becomes "Successful".....hummm....ok....maybe a script could be created for this
    I noticed that when a package got the status "unknown" and the package is also located on the "distribution point share" then following will fix the issue:
    --> edit the package and remove the migrated DP and remove the checkbox for string on the distribution point share. Then add the DP again, click Apply and then set the checkbox for storing on the distribution point share and Apply again. Then wait and package
    will become available Successful and the package will become available on the distribution point share
    But i have 800 packages and 50 to be migrated DP's.....this is not a solution....but what is ????
    Any help, ideas, tips, hints, recommendations ?
    My overal thoughts are that migrating of a SCCM 2007 DP is not really working at all !!!!!
    Or does someone has other experience with e.g. R2 installed ? If so then I will upgrade first...

  • Error installing SCCM 2012 SP1 client

    Hi All,
    I am getting the following error, detailed in the client.msi.log, when trying to install the SCCM 2012 SP1 client on a couple of windows 2008 R2 servers.
    Error 1904. Module C:\Windows\CCM\StatusAgentProxy.dll failed to register.  HRESULT -2147010895
    The ccmsetup.log details the same message without Error 1904 indicated.
    I am installing the client using the SUP method, which has worked without any problems on all 180 other windows servers I have done.  ccmsetup starts and downloads all pre reqs required for the client rollout, but it then hits this error and does not
    finish the installation.
    Any help would be much appreciated?
    Regards PowerShell90

    Hi,
    I've seen this issue a couple of times and usually it's related to incorrect Versions of C++ Library installed on the system you try to install the Client. Try and remove any existing installations, reboot and install this version;

  • It says it needs to be connected to itunes and restored.  when i do that, it goes through the whole process then comes up with "iphone could not be restored. unknown error code (-1)".  Please help

    My brother gave me his old iphone when the touch screen went out on mine.  It's in great shape but when I received it, it says that it needs to be connected to itunes to be restored.  I have done this and it goes through the whole process then says iphone "iphone" could not be restored.  unknown error code (-1).  There is not a -1 code on the list and I have tried most of the suggestions.
    Does my sim card need to be in when I am doing this?  And any other suggestions?

    I did put it in DFU mode but its still not working, although everytime it shows your iphone needs to be restored. Kindly help.
