SCCM 2012R2 Console Sequencing APPV 4.6.SP2

Hi there APPV Guru's
I am trying to sequence de SCCM2012R2 Console with the APPV 4.6.sp2 cu 3
I have found some recipies on the net but the are not helpfull.
like this post
http://blogs.technet.com/b/appv/archive/2013/01/08/how-to-sequence-the-microsoft-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-admin-console-with-microsoft-app-v.aspx
I have followed that post concerning
- dotnet 4 full
- clean windows 7 x32pc
I am sequencing for a windows 7 x32 platform.
When i launch the consoel the first time the app will crash if i want to see the properties of a package, or see some step detailt in a tasksequence.
it is related to the dotnet, but i have update dotnet downgraded
downgraded appv sequencer to version 4.6.sp1 cu8
noting seems to help te get a fully working console.
HELP
regards
Roger

Hello Roger,
Have you managed to get the CM12 R2 console sequenced with App-V 4.6 SP3 ? If yes, would you mind sharing what needed to be done.
thanks
Alex

  • MDT 2013 & SCCM 2012R2

    Hi
i have SCCM 2012R2 up and running and wanted to integrate it with MDT 2013.
Just out of curiosity, once MDT has been installed, do we really need to download and install WAIK?
What is the benefit of having it in MDT? i can see under MDT Components the status is: Required.
    Thanks, M@

    Hi,
The MDT integration doesn't need the WAIK. The only prerequisite is ConfigMgr console.
After you installed MDT you need to run the integration wizzard which will add new features in ConfigMgr console such as MDT task sequences, new step types in task sequence, you're not (unless you want to use it) supposed to launch MDT console, it's just
    about extending ConfigMgr console features.

Is your capture TS based on MDT or OSD? Do you have MDT installed and integrated?
I was wrong before, MDT 2013 and ADK 8.1 does not support XP, but ConfMgr 2012R2 does, if you integrate WinPE 3.1 as you already did. Still, your logs shows that you have troubles with Boot Image / WinPE.
    Let me suggest something;
    - Make sure WinPE 3.1 is available from DP. Are you able to deploy TS (Win7) with 3.1? Will it get downloaded?
    - With XP, I felt is more reliable to capture it with a media. So you have XP running, and you execure capture image (created By ConfMgr). So maybe you should try that? Capture Media will reboot your reference machine to WinPE and save .wim file to a share.

  • SCCM 2012R2 Software Update Point (Old Programs List olny)

    hi,
i have sccm 2012R2,  today i add to sccm software update point role but there in Products page not showilng latest microsoft products such as Office 2013, Exchange 2013, Windows Server 2012R2,Windows 8.1,
there is only old programs,eg. office 2010, server 2012 (not R2)
i update sccm to latest cumulative update 4 but no change in there,
i need to update client computers,  there are all Windows 8.1 systems.
how can i update cients from sccm?

This list comes from WSUS which in its default, newly installed state is out of date. The list is however updated every time that WSUS in synced and the catalog is updated in ConfigMgr. Thus, you simple need to initiate an update catalog sync from within
the ConfigMgr console by going to the Software Updates -> All Software Updates node and choosing Synchronize Software Updates from the ribbon bar or right-click context menu.

  • How to apply HotFix 3 for AppV 4.6 SP2?

My aim is to use AppV 4.6 SP2 HF03 Sequencer & Client?
I've already installed 64-bit AppV 4.6 SP2 Sequencer in my Machine where version in ARP is 4.6.2.24020  & I've downloaded the HF03 from the URL below,
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2873471/en-us
I don't understand which msp[Among the 4] to apply & so I've tried to apply both x64 msp's. But, none of those installed successfully. It throws the following error,
Can anyone help me with the issue & resolution?

This HF is for App-V clients only, it does not contain anything for the Sequencer.
The most current 4.6 release of the Sequencer is 4.6 SP3 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2873450)
If you want to stay in the 4.6 SP*2* generation, there is no hotfix available that includes Sequencer changes.

  • SCCM 2012 Console (SP1 with CU4)

I am trying to package the SCCM 2012 console (with SP1) and with and without CU4.  Both packages give me the following error in the event log. 'the virtual application.....could not be started because the App-V subsystem 'Virtual FileSystem' could not

I've re-sequenced the app, had another package create a different package too and both get the same error.

  • Windows 8.1 Copyprofile Issue (SCCM 2012R2 MDT 2013)

    Hi,
We're experiencing several issues during creation of our base Windows 8.1 image.
Running SCCM 2012 R2 with MDT 2013 Integration.
Admin user customizations (a couple of simple UI settings and a wallpaper) are done to the Windows 8.1 image in audit mode. The OS is then sysprepped and captured via SCCM capture media.
We are using a standard MDT integrated task sequence for a zero touch deployment.
We are adding copyprofile to unattend.xml in the relevant MDT settings package.
Sequence completes without error and customizations appear in the image.
However, desktop IE11 immediately crashes unless it's run as administrator. This can be fixed by disabling protected mode (not ideal)
All Metro/Modern apps (including IE) are also initially broken. They immediately crash and drop you back to the desktop when you run them.
After a reboot the modern/metro apps (apart from IE) seem to reinstall and function correctly.
Has anyone else got copyprofile working correctly for 8.1 in a SCCM/MDT task sequence?
    thanks
    James

    Hi James,
We were able to work around this issue in the following way using SCCM 2012 R2. I know this is not how the process is documented or has worked previously but it is what worked for us.
    1. Create an unattend.xml with the copy profile setting (and whatever other settings) enabled.
    2. On the image which will be captured run all of our regular steps to customize on the administrator profile (I always set administrator pw at this point to have blank pw, don't know if still required), copy that unattend.xml locally.
    3. Do not run a standard capture using SCCM capture ISO, instead manually run sysprep specifying the unattend.xml. I.e. sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:C:\Unattend.xml .
    4. Boot to either the SCCM PXE or some other environment on that computer that has network access, and access to imagex.
    5. Run an imagex capture to a network location (in our case the C: was all that was needed).
    6. Import that WIM into SCCM as part of task sequence. Also added same unattend.xml used for sysprep into the task sequence to apply settings during first boot after image.
    7. Validated our start menu icons and layout are there on the image.
Until the behaviour changes in Windows 8.1 or SCCM, then this should get you by. Little bit of extra work in the capture but we had positive, consistent results using this method.
Thank you! This was driving me crazy! Now it works on the first try.
Just a side note: You should not use ImageX with Windows 8.1. Create a new WinPE Bootmedia and use DISM! ImageX is outdated.

  • Connect via Windows Powershell in SCCM 2012 CONSOLE (with PowerShell 4.0 installed)

    Hi,
When trying to "Connect via Windows Powershell" in the SCCM 2012 console, I get the message that Powershell 3.0 is not installed... (which actually isn't installed, we have PS4.0 installed). Do we need to install PS3.0 also to get it working
or is there a workaround? Connecting manually to the site via Powershell 4.0 (Get-Psdrive -psprovider CMSITE) works like a charm.
    Regards,
    WiM

    Hi,
I have installed WMF 4.0 on Windows Server 2008 R2 sp1, it works fine.
Please try to use "$PSVersionTable" to confirm Powershell version is 4.0. At first, I forgot to install Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5, then the console gave me the message that Powershell 3.0 is not installed.

  • Have delay to deliver updates to client in sccm 2012r2

    Hi
that's a few month that I'm working with sccm 2012r2 in order to keep my organization updated and patched .but the problem is after discovering a new computer and triggering that computer to get updates from SUP It doesn't show any updates in software center
,in fact after 2 hours those updates appear and start installing .I searched the internet a lot .all settings are right according to microsoft documents .recently I doubt to my automatic deployment rules .those rules are working fine but I think the delay
could be because of the number of my rules ,I have 35 automatic deployment rules that start at the same time .this is the screen shot of the rules . is this configuration suitable ?
if the number of update rule is too much what should to do with maximum number of updates in each rule(1000 update per each rule) ?
    thanks a million

Yes. That's a lot of update rules (as a side question, why are being so granular with them?); however, it has nothing to do with what you've described. Update Rules have nothing to do with enforcing updates on clients. ADRs merely create (or update) update
groups, update packages, and update deployments. Update deployments perform the actual work of enforcing updates on clients. Also, there's no 1,000 updates per rule requirement. Update groups however are limited to 1,000 updates. Still, none of this truly
has anything to do with what you've described.
ConfigMgr is not an instant gratification system -- it is an enterprise client management tool and certain actions and activities take time to happen. Can you please walk us through *exactly* what you're doing when installing a new system including the timing
    and what your expectations are?
    Jason | http://blog.configmgrftw.com | @jasonsandys
    thank you very much .
but my expectation is when I install a new os ,Sccm detect that as soon as possible and give client the updates asap again even when I use the Action tab in configuration manager Item in control panel.
of course it detect my new client but it takes time to give them updates (about 2 hours). Before I was using wsus ,updates was sent to client and was installed immediately after client detection(of course using Check for Update in control panel).
I want to decrease my rules .but whats the best solution and categorization ?now I have 4449 Updates in sccm database .
in Update classification I just selected critical, security, rullup, update.
I would be glad if you masters give me  a helpful solution .
    thanks

  • SCCM 2012: enable powershell execution policy for SCCM 2012 console

    Hi,
I always get stuck settings up the remote sccm 2012 powershell (cd psdrive sitecode:). Maybe not a real sccm 2012 question but Powershell but wonder what steps you take to make it work (it works on our production environment, setting up in a lab always gives
me headaches, will defintely write the solution down this time :-)).
Please advise what the steps are in configuring remote powershell for SCCM 2012.
1.my personal account "Myuser" has admin-rights in sccm 2012
2.I can open Powershell logged on to the sccm 2012 server then opening sccm 2012 console, connect via powershell
3.however, when I connect remote to the sccm server, I get the error:
. : File C:\Users\Myuser\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Microsoft.PowerShell_profile.ps1 cannot be loaded. The file C:\Use

ipt on the current system. For more information about running scripts and setting execution policy, see about_Execution
    _Policies at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=135170.
4.So I connect to the sccm-server and ask for the execution policy to unrestricted, I get this:
    set-executionpolicy unrestricted
    [Y] Yes  [N] No  [S] Suspend  [?] Help (default is "Y"): y

    Please advise.

Those client settings are only for the actions performed by the ConfigMgr client. Normal PowerShell actions are restricted to the configured execution policy on the machine.

  • Lenonvo T440 with Intel SSD SC2BF240A4L - failing to install apps via SCCM 2012 task sequence

    Hi there
Wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue with a T440 with Intel SSD hard disk.
Our firm purchased two Lenovo T440 laptops. One has a magnetic hard disk, the other a SSD hard disk. Here are the models:
    SSD hard disk:           Intel SSDSC2BF240A4L
    Magnetic hard disk:   500Gb 7200rpm HTS725050A7E635
We deploy our Windows 7 build via a SCCM 2012 task sequence.
Building the T440 with the magnetic hard disk was trouble free. I built it repeatedly, and encountered no errors; our core applications installed successfully every time and the task sequence completed successfully every time.
    All well and good.
Building the T440 with the Intel SSD hard disk has been frustrating. When I run the task sequence on this machine, 8 times out of 10 the task sequence will fail, either stopping abruplty at installing Oracle Single-Sign On or Appsense agents. When the task sequence fails it is ALWAYS at one of these two apps.
Frustratingly, sometimes the task sequence will complete successfully on this T440.
Given we successfully deploy this task sequence to a variety of different hardware from different vendors, including other Lenovo laptops, I can only guess the Intel SSD hard disk is the culprit.
Has anyone encountred anything like this? I've went through the smsts.log file and other SCCM log files and can find nothing obvious. That this ONLY happens on the T440 with the SSD suggests to me the issues lies in that direction.
I'll swap disks in either T440 to see if the other T440 fails also with the SSD aboard, to see what happens.
Meantime if anyone has any information about this issue I'd be grateful if you coud share.
    Thanks
    CT

Does the install provide any logging? Does execmgr.log show any other info?
Per the readme, it should be setup.exe.

  • Deploy Powershell 3 to Win7 Via SCCM 2012R2

Is it possible to deploy Powershell 3 to Windows 7 clients using SCCM 2012R2? Or WSUS?
I have read a few blogs describing different methods such as dism to repackage the cab file or using a scripted deployment type (Windows6.1-KBxxxxxxxx64.msu /quiet
/norestart)  but i can not get it to install the update.  My aim is to get the app-v 5 client on windows 7 desktops so powershell 3 is a requirement.
Has anyone worked out how to deploy it?
    Many Thanks Dave

If you're clients are currently at PowerShell 2,  I would recommend installing Windows Management Framework 4 instead of 3.  WMF4 has lots of powershell and WMI improvements over WMF3.
To deploy WMF4, create an Application with two deployment types (one for x86 and one for x64).  The program is pretty simple - you just need something like "WUSA.EXE Windows6.1-KB2819745-x64-MultiPkg.msu /quiet /norestart".  For a detection
method, the easiest thing to do is a file version check on "%windir%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe"
Use the WMF4 Application object as a pre-requisite for your App-V 5 Client.
    I hope that helps,

  • SCCM 2012R2 Bits 2.0

    All,
Short question. We need to deploy the SCCM (2012R2) agent to 1000+ Windows 2003 servers with BITS 2.0 installed. What is the standard way to deploy BITS 2.5 on those systems. I figured out that 2.5 cannot be pushed with WSUS and since there is no SCCM
client on the machine it cannot be pushed by configuation manager.
    Thanks

I did it by hand. You could script it and use psexec or GPO to install it though. I seem to recall that they will also need a .net upgrade.
