Sccm client v4 wont install and install client v5 - SCCM 2012 R2

Hi, I am coming to the end of a SCCM 2012 R2 client deployment. I have come across 2 machines (so far)that have the SCCM 2007 (v4) client installed, and although the task is set to uninstall from the server the v5 client will not installed. iI have been
using this an as template:

I have ran the install seperatelty from the server (boxed ticked - Uninstall existing Config Manager client) - No Install
The ccmsetup folder is created - c$\Windows\ccmsetup, but only has 3 files, no logs folder
Other machines on site has the v5 client
Checked ping from client to server and vice versa (no firewall enabled)
Boundaries/Schema/DNS - ok
Checked all local event logs.
i know you can run the local uninstall command, but as the network is vast i would like to fix to come from the server, rather than having to do this on the client.
Any tips would be great going forward.

I ensured the account used for the install was in the local admins group.
From the ccm.log on the server, i got these erros, been googling but nothing yet:

Is it possible to have 64-bit 11g Full Install and 32-Client on 1 computer?

Here's why I ask:
I have installed a full 64-bit 11g R2 install on my Windows 7 D: drive, installed two DB's, worked great. Then I realized application I need to support (Cognos 10.1) requires 32-bit client (for drivers) so I installed the 11g client also on D: drive as well (for space reasons).
My problem is that my registry only shows one ORACLE_HOME--the 64-bit full install whereas Cognos reqs to point to 32-bit client.
My sqlplus in the 64-bit OH worked fine (D:\oracle\app\dock\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe) whereas the 32-bit client sqlplus (D:\oracle\client\app\dock\product\11.2.0\client_1\BIN\sqlplus.exe) did not work. The error was:

Any login id (sys, system, etc) gave same error. 64-bit sql-plus worked fine. If I opened a cmd prompt and navigated to the 32-bit sqlplus under the client this WOULD work to login (but then I noticed it was using the 64-bit ORACLE_HOME and PATH settings if I typed set). In order to fix Cognos, I changed my ORACLE_HOME and path to point to the 32-bit client (i.e. from D:\oracle\app\dock\product\11.2.0\dbhome_1 to
ORACLE_HOME = D:\oracle\client\app\dock\product\11.2.0\client_1

Guess what? This stopped both the 64-bit and 32-bit sqlplus from working, even after bouncing the computer. Now the listener (64-bit) OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener will also not start either.
Sooooo, I think I need to set the OH and PATH back to the 64-bit as that is what the Listener requires but any ideas how to get the 32-bit sqlplus to also work?!? The Cognos application appears to use the default server settings (most likely from ORACLE_HOME and Path) and in it I just type the name of the database and connection string, there's no real way to point it anywhere to differentiate. If it doesn't find 32-bit drivers it throws an error hence the reason I need the client sqlplus, etc to work.

N80 wont download and install

I have updated my N80 to the latest firmware, but have been experiencing problems ever since. I cannot download and install apps from the web. When trying to download and install and app like GMAIL, it says connecting then disconnected and I cnnot install. Anyone got any ideas what I could do. I have reloaded the current firmware!

Look, you have downloaded the latest one, then reloaded the one.
If it still persists.
Then I would suggest you to do a hard reset.
If still occurs,
take it to the nokia care.

SCCM design DMZ for intranet and internet clients

Hello,
I am looking for some design recommendations for my test environment that I would like to apply to one production environment (I already posted about this topic but I still have some questions).
I am working with 2 domains (2 forests) with no trust relationships.
Domain A : internal
Domain B : DMZ
From a firewall point of view, only the ports from the internal to the DMZ will be opened.
From the internet to the DMZ, only HTTPS will be opened.
Currently, I only manage the clients connected to the internal domain.
I would like to deploy a new management point in DMZ that will allow me to manage my DMZ clients (servers) and my Internet clients (laptops).
Should I use 2 management points ? Is it supported ?
- one for the DMZ clients
- one dedicated to my internet clients
If I use only one MP, should I allow Intranet and Internet clients ?
Should I allow my DMZ clients to communicate with the internal management point (port 80) and only use the MP in DMZ for my Internet clients.
The only documents I can find on Technet require too many ports to be opened in the firewall (From DMZ to Internal) and can't be applied to my environment.

Can I keep FrameMaker 9 installed and install Tech Comm Suite 4?

I'm asking because Adobe Application Manager keeps failing to install its own update - and this is the only thing I can think of (although I have had the software on the system for a few months now and it's only just started to fail).
Has some patch in the meantime caused the problem?
Have downloaded some patches manually (managed to download and install the patch for FrameMaker 11) but some try to launch Application Manager when installing anyway.
If I need to uninstall, do I need to uninstall EVERYTHING? (Can't find Application Manager in Control Panel > Programs and Features... do I need to uninstall the suite?)
Do I permanently de-activate if going to reinstall on the SAME machine?
Getting confused because a lot of the help for Application Manager refers to a Creative Suite clean-up tool. Should I run this after uninstalling?
I don't have Creative Suite, but do have InDesign CS5.
Running Windows 7 Professional, 32-bit, with 3 GB RAM.

Reinstalls on the same system don't require deactivation. I'm not sure how the techcomm suite products are strung together, but there may be some sense in running the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool. It won't remove anything, just get rid of blocakges and version conflicts in the installer database. After that you should be able to reinstall your TCS 4. FM 9 should not be affected by any of this, since separate major versions install separately. But I really can't tell you 100%. There may be specifics with FM and some otehr TCS specific stuff that I'm not aware of.

          How can I get two different UserTransaction objects in two different
          clients? What if, one client tries to use two EJBs in the same
          app-server?
          If I use following code to get the UserTransaction object, transaction
          of two clients get mixed up and then messes the functionality.

SCCM query to count missing and installed updates

Hi guys, I'm looking for a couple of queries. Hopefully someone can help me out.
The first, which is probably simpler; a query which will give me the count of missing updates and the count of installed updates for every machine that has 1 ore more update missing. I am not interested in the number of updates installed on a machine that
doesn't have any updates missing. Would also be good to know when the machine last reported in.
So something like this:
The second, I assume more complicated one; a query that will give me the count of missing updates but broken down into their classification (ie. critical, service packs, updates...) and a count of the installed updates.

If I add the following, I get the total 'critical' updates required by each machine:

Changing the value '26' to one of the others listed above returns that classification.

It's not referencing your iTunes version. It's referencing your device's iOS version. An iPhone 3G has a maximum iOS of 4.2.1. If an app requires an iOS higher than that, it will not work on your iPhone 3G.

Mac for Office: de-install and install

I'm getting a new macbook pro and have office for mac on my existing powerbook. Only have one license and assuming I can't load on both so....can I de-install from the powerbook and then install on the new pro? If so, how do I de-install?

Trying to install and configure RRAS in WIndows 2012 Server R2 but cannot

I just installed Windows Server 2012 R2 standard and trying to install RRAS.
Following these steps:
To install RRAS
Perform one of the following two steps to start the Add Roles Wizard:
Start Server Manager. In the main window, under Roles Summary, click
Add roles.
In the Initial Configuration Tasks window that appears when you first log on, under
Customize This Server, click Add roles.
On the Before You Begin page, click Next.
Note
This page does not appear if you previously selected Skip this page by default.
On the Select Server Roles page, select Network Policy and Access Services, and then click
Next twice.
On the Select Role Services page, select Routing and Remote Access Services.
Once I get to step 4 I do not see Routing and Remote Access listed under role services. Any idea why this is?

Different installation guide between client and non-client

hello,
i am windows user and still newbie, but i am still confuse. well, make it quick answer for me:
what is different between Database Installation Guide for Microsoft Windows ( non-client i mean that ) and Database Client Installation Guide for Microsoft Windows?
It's same or not?

The former discusses creating the database and the listener, the latter doesn't.
Likely the latter is a very small subset of the former, ie if you install the database on the server, that server implicitly has a client.

Windows 95 and NMAS Client

We're in the process of rolling in IDM2 for synchronisation of passwords and
group membership with our Active directory domain.
Unfortunately we're also still behind in our deployment of Windows XP, and
still have about 600-800 Workstations using Windows 95 and Client 3.32.
I'm under the impression that if we don't upgrade our client to include an
NMAS client we're going to have issues when the client tries to synchronise
the passwords between the AD Domain and the NetWare Universal Password.
Can anyone advise me the latest version of the NMAS client supported
(installable) under windows 95? (and where to get it)
We've tried 2.3 and that says it only supports Windows 98. and are planning
to roll out 2.10 at this stage.
We also tried to install NMAS 2.10 and then upgrade to Client 3.4 (and the
other way around), but found that it broke our client to a point we couldn't
log in any more... any clues?

The 3.4 Client installs ok, the problem is, that you can't log into it
afterwards once the NMAS 2.10 client is installed.
We've done a bit more research, and been told that in order to support the
Universal Password the Client 3.4 is required; with NMAS client 2.20,
since NMAS 2.20 doesn't support 95 clients we seem to be up the creek.
This is a bit disappointing considering how far we are down the path, both
our integrator and the Local Novell Office here gave us the impression we
could go with what we had....

Maryrhire910 I am sorry that you are facing difficulty downloading and installing Photoshop Elements 12. Are you downloading the installation files from Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10? If so what specific error are you receiving?

Problem with installing and running some applications or drivers

When installing and installing some items, towards the end of the installation I get this message:
/System/Library/Extensions/comcy_driver_USBDevice.kext
*was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it or contact product's vendor for update*
The end result is that some things do not seem to work properly, such as my HP printer. Would anybody have any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Thank you for your response. Originally, I had a problem with Airport and ended up reinstalling Snow Leopard. Since then, when downloading upgrades etc, such as HP printer drivers, iTunes etc., towards the end of the download when its running the script, I get this message: /System/Library/Extensions/comcy_driver_USBDevice.kext

Sometimes, the download hangs and is unable to complete. The main problem I've encountered so far with an application is when I use the printer to scan an image via Preview, it's blank: there's nothing there.

How can I have the latest version FF8 installed AND keep my old version until I get used to FF8 ?

I have also fopund that I have a Beta version FF 3.6 Beta 4
I have no idea how this was installed, as I have not done it knowingly and consciously !!!
It does not show up in ALL PROGRAMS from START.....
But does appear in ADD/REMOVE PROGS via Control Panel....also in MY COMPUTER>Program files !!
Both versions work...but my desktop short cut links to FF 3.6.24....and that is what I use all the time. (the Beta version must have been there for some time).....
So this gave me the idea of maybe keeping my current version and also having a separate program FF8.... Until I get used to FF8...(see question https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/897193#answer-277745)
Maybe... 1. Install FF8 to a different location folder..say...Mozilla/Firefoxnew8
2. Rename the existing FF version and create new desktop short cut.
But the only problem I can see in these options is that when FF installs a new update automatically, on start up...... depending on which version I am using at the time...... I presume it will look for folder Mozilla/Firefox..... THEN WHAT WILL HAPPEN ??
