SCCM Primary Site installation fails

Hello!
In my organization we have two domain/forests. DomainA.local and DomainB.local
in one forest (DomainA.local) we have sccm 2012 sp1 CAS site. with dedicated database server on sql 2012 sp1 cu5
in other forest (DomainB.local) we want to setup primary site on sccm 2012 sp1 with dedicated database server on sql 2012 sp1 cu5
forests have trust both sided.
all installation accounts have administrative rights on all SC servers. in both domains.
when i try to install SCCM 2012 primary site in the hierarchy,
i receiving the errors:
INFO: Created SQL Server machine certificate for Server [S-SCDB-02.DomainB.local] successfully.
ERROR: Failed to open certificate store (HRESULT=0x35)    Configuration Manager Setup    9/3/2013 11:56:19 AM    3268 (0x0CC4)
ERROR: Failed to write S-SCDB-02.DomainB.local SQL Server certificate to store (TrustedPeople) on site server (S-SCDB-01.DomainA.local).
ERROR: Failed to write certificate of primary site's SQL Server [S-SCDB-02.DomainB.local] to CAS SQL Server [S-SCDB-01.DomainA.local].
Install user from domainB.local has administrative rights on S-SCDB-01.DomainA.local and sysadmin rights in sql server.
Also, it has full administrator role on CAS.Of course, it has administrative rights on primary site server and sql server S-SCDB-02.DomainB.local and sysadmin rights.
WHY????

>Taking a step back: why? Are you using a CAS and multiple primary sites at all? Do you have 100,000+ clients to manage?
we need CAS due to our network infrastructure.
thank you for you help.
we solved problem today.
it was need to open "windows" ports on the firewall between SCCM Primary Site server and CAS SQL server to give SCCM
primary site installation process the ability to install the primary site's sql-server's self-signed certificate to CAS sql-server trusted people local store.
i did not remember this point in deploying documentation((((

I Installed Client agent via Client push to my SCCM Primary Site. Installation was sucessfull (Return code 0 in ccmsetup.log). But in console still the client status shows 'NO'.
Is there any difference when installing Client agent on Primary Site or any other site server. Please advice.

  • SCCM 2012 - Primary Site Installation in a existing hierarchy

    Hi,
During Primary site installation the setup is unable to retrieve the site code from the specified central administration site server. Verified that the,
Primary site server is a local admin on CAS
User account is local admin on CAS and SysAdmin on CAS SQL
User account is full administrator on CAS
User account is local admin on Primary and SysAdmin on Primary SQL
    Windows firewall is disabled.
    Please help on this issue.
    Regards, Lorin Davis

I've seen this .. when I was in the page “Specify Join the primary site to an existing hierarchy” and provided the FQDN of the Central Administration Site (CAS) server.
I would recommend to verify the prerequisites checks I mentioned in the following post.

    2) Able to telnet 1433 and 4022 from both primary to secondary and vice versa
    3) SQL server Configuration Manager , TCP IP port was set to 1433.
please let me know if any thing i am missing
    Thanks

    Hi Guys
Exact same problem as described above:
Been told to install SQL Express manually first, but even after that, we continued to get the same problem.
The SQL Communication between the 2 sites doesn't seem to work.
I noticed that the Primary's SQL Security Account doesn't get created on Primary DB, in the Database replication the link has not yet been created either.
The "Exec spDrsSendSubscriptionInvalid 'Secondary 3 digit site code','Primary 3 digit site code','configuration data'" worked on 1 Secondary, but fails on all the rest.
Uninstalling/Installing the Secondary doesn't work either.

  • SCCM 2012 Replication between Central Admin Site and all Primary Sites is failing

Let me start by saying I have made a mistake and now I am paying for it and attempting to fix it. All of our SCCM servers are virtual and exist on an ESX environment. The mistake I made is I restored our Central Admin Site from a backup without also
restoring the two Primary Sites at the same time. Now the databases between the sites simply refuse to synchronize. I can run the Replication Link Analyzer until I'm blue in the face and even though the data gets replicated once, the replication immediately
    breaks and fails after that.
Regrettably I no longer have access to backups that would take me back to a point where the three servers were happy. The problem there is our ESX administrator only keeps a limited number of backups per server (we have in excess of 180 virtual servers in
our ESX environment) and the backups from a point in time where they worked is no longer available.
As I have said I have tried running the Replication Link Analyzer many times. I have also tried going into the SQL server console and running the stored procedure spDrsSendReplicationInvalid.
Can anyone provide me with any assistance on how best to restore replication between the Central Admin server and the two Primary servers?

    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/scstr/archive/2012/05/31/how_2d00_to_2d00_site_2d00_server_2d00_recovery_2d00_central_2d00_or_2d00_primary.aspx
Just an addition: the option called "Recover central administration site:
Then specify the FQDN of a
Reference primary site" is the one to try first.

  • Webcenter Sites Installation fail during deployment

    Hi
I have been trying to do a proof of concerpt with Webcenter Site on Weblogic 10.3.6 on windows 7, it installs fine but failes with the following error during deployment
An error occurred during activation of changes, please see the log for details.
User-specified log class 'org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger' cannot be found or is not useable.:org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException:User-specified log class 'org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger' cannot be found or is not useable.
has anyone encountered this and how have they resolved this???
    Thanks in advance
    Thabo

I have managed to fix this problem, by adding the following in the weblogic.xml
    <container-descriptor>
    <prefer-web-inf-classes>true</prefer-web-inf-classes>
    </container-descriptor>

  • Configure SUSDB_log.ldf Autogrowth Size on SCCM 2012 Standalone Primary Site Server

I have configured the rest of my .ldf log files for SCCM use according to best practices by SCCM MVPs, but I have not read anywhere that states how I should go about configuring the auto growth for the WSUS database log file (susdb_log.ldf) itself.
If someone can offer some guidance here, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks

    Thanks Torsten.
So after I run the first full sync, I can just use that value to set the initial size like you stated and then use some other value to set the growth rate? There is only about 1,000 clients in this organization and I want to get this WSUS db log file configured
prior to installing the SCCM primary site on the server. I have used Kent Agerlund's instructions on pre-configuring the SCCM 2012 R2 database and everything looks good there, but just wanted to know how to go about NOT using that 2TB default limit on the
SUSDB_log. What is a good rule of thumb to use to determine the file growth value? Like 2x or 3x the initial value size?
    Thanks

  • Site link failed

    Hi All,
We have a client with one CAS & 4 primary sites (All the sites are SCCM 2012 R2) because of some maintenance work one of the primary site was down for few hours & now in site hierarchy the link shows as failed. when we hover over the link it
shows that the Global data replication between the CAS & the Primary site is failing.
    What we have tried :-
    1. Run the replication link analyzer - Its unable to resolve the issue & just shows the names of replication groups which are failing.
    2. Run the  SPdiagdrs command on primary site DB - This shows the Global replication groups which are failing & are not active.
    3. Run the Update RCM_DRSInitilazationTracking set initializationstatus=7 where ReplicationGroup = "Group Name" - To reinitialize the replication.
    4. configuration data.pub      => Drop these on Primary server  RCM.BOX - As mentioned
here. This solved the issue initially but the replication was failed again after some time.
    5. rcmctrl.log on CAS shows this error :-

  • Component installation failing due to incorrect drive letter

When checking the site status of our SCCM 2012 environment I discovered that the SQL component server showed a critical status.  The error log is full of events like the one I've copied below:
Site Component Manager could not copy file "E:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\bin\x64\smssqlbkup.exe" to "\\ALNS0014.ALONUSA.COM\L$\SMS_ALNS0050.ALONUSA.COM\bin\x64\smssqlbkup.exe".
Site Component Manager reports this error when it fails to:
    1. Create the destination directory, if it does not already exist.
    2. Assign the proper directory permissions to the destination directory.
    3. Copy the source file to the destination directory.
When I logged in to the SQL server I discovered that the SQL admin (who has since left the company) had changed the drive letters assigned to the different partitions; there is no longer a L$ drive.  The SMS_ALNS0050.ALONUSA.COM directory resides under
a different drive letter.  My question is - is there a way for me to redirect the SCCM primary site server to the correct drive?

It definitely seems tied to a SQL backup.  When I go to Site Maintenance & check the Backup Site Server task it's not currently enable.  Every hour I receive the error above for all the files in that referenced directory, followed by this error:
    SMS_SITE_SQL_BACKUP_ALNS0050.ALONUSA.COM
Site Component Manager failed to reinstall this component on this site system.
Solution: Review the previous status messages to determine the exact reason for the failure. Site Component Manager will automatically retry the reinstallation in 60 minutes. To force Site Component Manager to immediately retry the reinstallation, stop
and restart Site Component Manager using the Configuration Manager Service Manager.
It looks like it's trying to either reinstall or update the SQL component, but it's trying to go to the wrong path to copy the updated files.

  • Remote SQL DB Instance Connection error while deplyting the Standalone Primary Site

    Hi
I am getting error as The RPC server is unavailable .(Exception from HRESULT:0x8000706BA)
while adding the Remote SQL DB named instance. I am also attaching ConfigMgr Setup log  can you please advice..
Windows Firewall is turned off on SCCM Primary Site server and SQL DB server.
I am able to telnet over port 1433 of SQL DB server, Dynamic Port is not Configured  for SQL DB Named Instance its only on TCP 1433.

    Hi,
Please confirm the ports below are allowed.
    Site Server --> SQL Server
During the installation of a site that will use a remote SQL Server to host the site database, you must open the following ports between the site server and the SQL Server:
Server Message Block (SMB) TCP 445
RPC Endpoint Mapper UDP TCP 135
RPC TCP DYNAMIC (See note 6, Dynamic ports)

If it is really because of a missing file (code 2), you could use ProcMon to supplement these diagnostics.  However, be warned that typically the missing file is finally found via CBS.log to be an old WinSxS file that would appear to have no relation
to anything that the install needs.  E.g. it appears to be simply a symptom of a broken recovery procedure for some other undocumented issue with the install.  Most people just give up and reload Windows (or don't bother doing their IE updates at
all.)  It would be great if someone had the fortitude to go through all the necessary blackbox reverse engineering needed to uncover what is really happening.

  • Install "use typical installation options for a stand-alone primary site" All SQL Prerequisites Failed. Checks SQL before SQL is even installed?

So I select the install option to "Use typical installation options for a stand-alone primary site" which says it includes installation of SQL 2012 SP1 on the local server.
But then during the prerequisite checks it fails every SQL check.
Is it just me or a giant catch 22? Am I missing something here? How is this over looked if it is what it looks like? Why even have this simple install option if it can't work?

Take a look at my R2 install guide. This is for a stand alone primary. As Torsten states you pretty much need SQL installed and configured correctly prior to running the ConfigMgr install - along with  a few other pre-reqs.
