SCCM Subscription Email Attachments Are Wrong

Hello,
I have set up some subscritions for reports within SCCM. The problem I have is when they are emailed to me the filetype is wrong on the attached report.
For example:
pdf reports come as: .applicationpdf
excel reports come as: .applicationvnd.ms-excel
Any help as to how I can fix this?
Cheers

Hi,
There are too many things affecting the attachments. You could try to use OWA test if the format of attachments will be changed.

  • BESX SP3 MR6 - Email attachments are now ALWAYS Auto-download - not good with duplicate attachment names

Does anybody else see where email attachments are now always auto-download on all devices. The policy option was phased out in 5.0 but the default at that time was no (to auto-download). Now they all auto-download.
    1. PDF will not display because they must stay as attachment to render on Blackberry device. Says
“This attachment type cannot be viewed on your device”
    2. Phone messages attached as voicemail.wav - first one works, but since no longer the "Preview" option second says "Fielname exists - Rename?" Some devcies you can save and go back - others you can't.

Surely there's an expert on this forum who can help?

  • Email attachments are converted to HTML

I have a G4 ibook I rarely use and a G5 that I use daily both have recently begun to automatically download and convert all email attachments to .html, which when opened are gibberish.
What can I do to fix this?
When and if I can get Explorer to open I dont have this problem.

    comments?
Firefox and IE simply ignore the MIME part (it's probably more complicated than that - I'd guess they have a list of 'known' file extension types they trust over what the webserver claims for them, and then fall back to the MIME type specified for more esoteric ones).
Safari changed sometime around 1.2 -> 1.3 to use the MIME types more. Why? I have no idea, but I'm pretty sure that's the cause.
If you have a URL to one of your attachments in the webmail site, try typing this in the Terminal:
    curl -I [your URL]
In the output, the MIME type is indicated by the 'Content-Type: xxxxxx/yyyyyy' entry.

  • Attachments are wrong after sending in Mail

    Hi,
I used Apple Mail yesterday to send a message via Gmail. I attached two images that are about 1.5 MB each, thinking that I'd be able to pull them today from my Sent Mail to print, but they're showing up as 105 KB files, and not as attachments - they're just embedded in the body of the email. When I composed the email I clicked "attach" and went through the finder, I didn't just copy and paste.
What did I do wrong, and more importantly, is there a way I can get these files today? I sent the email to a Google Group address if that makes a difference.
    Thanks!
    Mardie

You can just Secure Empty Trash and that will delete them without an error.

  • Aperture Email Attachments are Embedded in the Email Sent to Windows PC's

I've searched the forum and have run across this problem discussed previously.  When sharing photos from Aperture 3.4.3 using the Email preset, the jpg's show up embedded in the body of the email when sent to people using PC's and running Outlook.  Oftentimes, the jpgs actually appear as thumbnails as well, and not full size.  I've tried the suggestions found here in this forum without any success.  In Mail, I have "windows friendly attachments" checked, although that particular menu item is greyed out, and can't either be selected or de-selected.  I've also formatted the email as "Plain Text".  Still photos attached don't show up on the Windows PC's as attachments.  I even exported a photo from Aperture to my desktop, then attached that jpg to an email, and got the same results.  I'm not sure if this is an Aperture problem, or a Mail problem.  I'm using Aperture 3.4.3 and OS 10.7 .  Am I missing something?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I have experimented extensively with this issue.  It is related to the recipitants email app, but in previous versions of Mail could be made successful by clicking on Format/Make Plain Text prior to sending.  In Mail in Lion and ML, this change does not stick, and the message utlimately gets sent in Rich Text/HTML which is why the MS apps have problems.
The Make Plain Text strangely enough endures if you add a Signature following the attachments that is EMPTY but composed as text only plain text.  This 'tricks" Mail and OSX to not change it back.  I cooresponded with Apple engineering about this, and they say the use of Rich Text is necessary and helpful with Exchange Accounts.  But this does not help the many who are not in Exchange Account Situations.
    See:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/17550705#17550705
The use of Attachment Tamer in general can help this, but I don't use it, and it is not clear to me how it would work when invoking Mail sending from within Aperture (or iPhoto which suffers the same issue).
MS could probably solve the problem, but at last check even RTF produced in Outlook could be problematic to those using Outlook Express, or vice-versa.

  • .pdf, Word, and Excel email attachments are not recognized

I have something very weird happen. For the past 2 weeks or so, when I recieve a pdf file as an email attachment, and I try to open it I get a message that the file is corrupt. If I go to my husband's PC, I can open the file, which means it is not corrupt. I have tried with Preview (and Acrobat Adobe Pro 9.2.0) to double-click the file, no result. I have also saved on the desktop, and double-clicked; lastly, I tried to open from within both Preview and Acrobat. Nothing makes the files open. I had some of the files resent, as I wanted to make sure, nothing works.
Does anyone have an idea what's going on? Also, files I have saved on the HD a while back open without any problems whatsoever.
    Thanks for any feedback.

If they're really PDF files have whoever's sending them zip them first. BTW, what's with the Word and Excel files in the title? You didn't say anything about those.

  • Email attachments are resizing

When I send a file it is resizing. Both in mac mail and by using an outside email like gmail. Any idea why this is happening? A 1mb file will send as 300kb.
    thanks

When you attach or drag-and-drop an image into an email in the Mail.app, a drop down will appear in the lower right corner of the composition window. This is set to something other than 'Actual Size'. To retain the original size of the attachment, choose "Actual Size".

  • Verizon FIOS email attachments are now showing as "undefined"

Attachments previously showed the name of the document/file that was attached. Now it just shows as "undefined".

    Try this app:

It might not work in Mavericks though. Also there is more information available in the posts listed on the right side of this page under "More Like this".

  • Email attachments are changing the original icons to a generic preview icon

When I send or receive an attachment, the original icon such as photoshop is changed to a generic icon called preview which is white with a graphic of a photo and a magnifing loop. How do I stop this?
    thank you!

Just getting ready to post this exact issue. Yes, when I drag a multipage pdf it converts it to a thumbnail jpeg of the file.
I thought my clients were on crack, but they aren't. Seems like the preview format (.png) on the new macs is creating the thumbnail but not actually linking the file.
My work around is to zip the file up and send it, but that isn't an optimal scenerio.
    please advise.

  • Pdf email attachments won't open

After upgrading to IOS 7 the pdf email attachments are not opening...just says "loading" and never loads.

    Hi DVFFTI,
I'm not sure from your description if you're having the same problem I was having.
In my case, PDF attachments would only display as a single image of the first page of the PDF.
The only option I had was to Copy or Save the image. I couldn't open a preview of the full PDF in Mail or tap to 'Open in...' a different app.
Turns out that I had too many apps on my iPhone that can read PDFs, for example, Dropbox, Evernote, iBooks, Kindle, etc. even a Canon app for remote printing.
Removing one of them fixed the issue for me.
I remember this happening before and seeing other threads about this, so I don't think it's specific to iOS 7.
Give it a go and see if it fixes your problem. Hope it helps.

  • Email Attachments Become Corrupted When Moved to a Different Mailbox

I believe that I have stumbled upon a bug in Mountain Lion mail.  Here is the set up:
    Server:
Mac OS X Mountain Lion Server 10.8.2 running IMAP email service
    Clients:
An assortment of Macs all running Mac OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.2 using Mail as the mail client over IMAP.
    Issue:
Ever since upgrading all company Macs to Mountain Lion we have recieved complaints from people that email attachments are occationaly becoming currupted once moved to other mailboxes such as the Trash or even other IMAP folders.  The symptom has not been observed to occur with other mail services such as gMail or iCloud but rather seems to be isolated to how Mountain Lion Mail handles moved emails with attachments on an IMAP service hosted on Mountain Lion server.  The issue also seems to be related to PDF attachments only.  We could not get the issue to reoccur with say a Pages document.  The issue also does not always occur but occurs about 90% of the time.
The email essentially goes from looking normal in the inbox to containing this text in it after it has been moved to another mailbox (obviously the real thing is like a hundred pages long):
    --Apple-Mail=_6C0E1272-08D2-7895-83FF-2F03EF82B31D
    Content-Disposition: inline;
              filename="example.pdf"
    Content-Type: application/pdf;
              x-unix-mode=0644;
              name="example.pdf"
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
    JVBERi0xLjMKJcTl8uXrp/Og0MTGCjQgMCBvYmoKPDwgL0xlbmd0aCA1IDAgUiAvRmlsdGVyIC9G

    mOCBv8dJ13YMUFXFso+P7WO/4xTvyJrpYjKdf3zev2DxxA5nKhj+bNW+k1dk+6+E3Rnjc4QFtgMo
    Ikx8qIT1uQiMCoE0OxAecQPZKIwslTq
Now if that same email, now moved into a new mailbox, apearing corupted to the Mac Mail client, is viewed from say an iPhone or iPad, the attachment appears normal.  If a new Mac client is set up to read that email account that email also appears normal.  This would indicate that issue does not seem to be occuring server side but however seems related to a cashe issue with the Mail client.
    Temporary Fix:
Now this is not a good fix but deleting the entire /User/Library/Mail folder and forcing Mail to completely reconnect to the IMAP server and redownload all headers and attachements fixes the issue.  However this only fixes the emails that once appeard corrupted to the client.  Any new emails moved around will continue to get corupted.  Syncronizing the mailbox does nothing to rectify the issue.
    Plee for help:
Obviosuly this is a serious issue and must be rectified.  We are using the most standard and Mac friendly/default set up possible (even a Mac server).  Has anyone expereinced this issue or want to venture a guess on how to fix it?  Does it seem like a bug in the Mail client to you?  Any ideas???
    I really apprecaite the help.
    -Christian

Oh man! So they say "We know this is a bug and we can't fix it since Tiger" ????? This is Apple with an army of developers and they can't fix this annoying issue???? WHAT???? I think this is a not a day more problem to fix and their professional OS X Server is affected by this problem as well and they don't fix it... their own software... what a customer care!!!
Anyway it sounds ******** and the solution is the same category... if you have only one mail in the mailbox and move to an other on a certain type of server it's getting corrupted, but the rebuild process works and when you move back it will be corrupted again! They should fix this but it looks like they will never fix it... it's a shame from a big company which sells premium products.
So if you still in contact with an Apple technician and they're opened I can provide both of the server platform when the problem can be proofed. (one where the sync is ok and one where it isn't and only with one mail in it ) Please contact me and I can help!
You can try other mail softwares and they can handle the imap protocol without major problems. I tried the following ones:
    - Postbox
    - Thunderbird
    - Sparrow
    - Mail Mate
Both works very wall but any of them is so integrated as the mail app with osx. Unfortunately if you live in the apple ecosystem and own more than one mac computer you will stuck with the apple one with all of its bugs.
...since Tiger... I can't get over it...
Sorry guys I getting angry when I hear this kind of stories...

  • I can't download my email attachments!!

Please help, I keep finding that a lot of my email attachments are not available to download.
All I see on the header of my email's are things like:
    2 Files
It only seems to be a problem with BT Yahoo. I use a Mac with OSX Lion. I have asked people to forward their attachments to another mail provider and the attachments come through fine.
    Many thanks in advance.

You seem to be yet another one sufferingthe attachment download problem. The helpdesk told me 10MB was the maximum size of attachment that could be downloaded to MSOutlook etc.
However, I have had connection fail with e-mails having smaller attachments, so I am not convinced that is the answer. The work round is to log on via BTYahoo, and move any e-mails with attachments to another folder, this should allow other e-mail to download OK.
How long before this problem is the subject of a BBC Watchdog programme?

  • Files corrupting when sending email attachments from Mail & Thunderbird

    Hi All
I'm hoping that someone will be able to help here as this problem is driving me crazy!
Most if not all of my email attachments are corrupting when sending from Apple Mail and Thunderbird.  I'm also having issues with publishing files via FTP from Rapidweaver 5!  I have spoken to BT about the issue but they have tested the line and say everything is OK.
The strange thing is, it's happening on my MacBook Pro (Mountain Lion) and my Mac Pro (Lion). The problem's also happen when I'm using a friends high speed internet connection so that only leaves the server. I'm really out of my depth with the server side of things though. I did have a reply from Servage (my hosting company) who said I may have been the subject of a hack and an upload script!! Not sure what this means or how to check if this is the case. One question though, would this corrupt email attachments as well as uploading to the server?
    Many thanks
    Mark

Further to the above:  I have now found that the same corruption happens when I email attachments and FTP from my PC laptop, so this rules out a computer issue.  I have also swapped wireless routers and exactly the same problem.  As mentioned above, I don't get the corruption when using another internet connection.
Also, I have an iPhone which I've restored to factory default settings and when I take a photo with the phone and email it (using my home wireless network), the file corrupts, everytime.
Using services such as YouSendIt and WeTransfer, gives the same problems!
I'm desperate for help on this one and I'd even pay someone to resolve it!
