SCCM Windows Updates - Issue - Sent to whole network rather than just group

Hi, i have successfully configured a small amount of Office Updates following this link:

Now, the issue i have that it seems to have gone to the whole network rather than the group that i created. I am not sure how this is possible. Its not a major issue as the updates were required, but how did this happen? New to SCCM!

For your own viewing, you can of course control-click on the attachment and select "View as Icon".
For others' viewing, it depends upon their email reader. To ensure that attachments are not displayed expicitly you can put them all in a zip file (via control click and "Compress") then attaching them, or you can use third party stuff like Attachment Tamer.

Can you view a whole year in iCal, rather than just day, week, month?

Does anyone know if there is a plug in or something (alternative app. even) that allows you to view the whole YEAR rather than just a month at a time? I want something that will function almost like a wall planner.

I asked this question about two years ago! I'm surprised we still can't print a year calendar. I've been using an Apple Calendar program from 1996, which was fun because I could add icons, and frames, etc. I was using it up until last week when I installed Leopard. Gone is Classic and my calendar program along with it!
Another problem I've had with iCal is the inability to print it in portrait mode. There was a work around on these boards that worked, but doesn't now. Sigh

Windows Modules Installer
Double click every service, on General tab, set its Startup type as “Automatic”;
Click Apply and OK button.

Delete the Windows Update cache

Unable to Resolve Windows Update Issue in Windows 8.1

Hello,
I recently, as far back as 1 month ago, began experiencing issues with the update service under the Windows 8.1 OS platform.
I found that I was having to repeatedly run the Windows Update Troubleshooting Tool. This appeared to fix the issue with each run of the tool, but eventually I'd have the same problem receiving updates again. My problem is as follows:
1. Windows Update service hangs during register analysis.
2. Unable to reset (stop or restart) wuauserv.
3. Unable to reset (stop or restart) Cryptserv.
4. Unable to reset (stop or restart) BITS.
5. Unit recently, was unable to connect to internet from Desktop GUI, but was able to connect using Metro GUI.
I'm not sure is there was a recent update that caused this issue, but I can no longer download updates for my system, nor can I successfully run the Windows Update Fixit tool.

Let's confirm these situations:
Now your desktop Internet Explorer can't connect Internet.
You receiving the same updates again and again.
If I am right, please check that update's installation status from update history.

Where is the forum for Windows Update issues with Windows 10 TP 9926

Trying to find a fix to the Windows Update issue with Windows 10 TP 9926 build and can't find the correct forum to post this question?
This will impact receiving the new build upgrades and will impact test strategy for the new supported OS in our desktop application.

Where is Support for Windows Update issues for Windows Server?

Where is Support for Windows Update Issues for Windows Server?
Windows Update keeps prompting to install an important update, KB2871690 and continually fails with error code 0x800f922
I ran all the fixes I can find, it still fails.
I also tried the manual install, fails.
Microsoft used to provide no charge support for Windows Update issues. They additionally offer online fixes for other versions of windows, but not server, and I can't find a forum.
I also cannot ignore the update, it continually prompts.
I ran the windowsupdate.diagcab and it continually states it fixes Windows Update error 0x80070057, by resetting windows update data store. It further states it fixes Problems installing recent updates.
But it doesn't. I've run it 50 times, and it says the same thing every time.
So there is no support for windows update, and no support for windowsupdate.diagcab.
What's the deal?

I recently updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, and lost 1200 odd contacts. I have a backup from about 4-5 months ago avaiable. Can I add/update contacts from the back up rather than restore which i assume will literally delete any new contacts added...?

I recently updated my iPhone 4s to ios6, and lost 1200 odd contacts. I recently sold my macbook air and also my mac book pro, so have no recent backups avaiable. I have a backup from about 4-5 months ago available on an external hdd as a time machine backup. Can I add/update contacts from the back up rather than restore? The reason i wish to do this is because in the update i didnt lose any messages, so all of the people i have met and networked with since that last update those many months ago, i have in my messages listings. They are all unidentified numbers at present but over time i will be able to work through the messages and based on the conversation recall who each was with. Also, yesterday, some two weeks after the update had left my contacts list entirely empty... a vast majority just reappeard, though all of them are without any phone numbers, all just emails or facebook contacts. This is the work of facebook not mac/ios6 isnt it...? Any help here would be greatly apprecaited. I am about 2 days from flying to canada and having those contacts would make life a lot easier.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

Why does iPhone rate whole album when it syncs to iTunes rather than just single song sometimes?

I wasn't sure if this should be an iTunes or iPhone discussion, so here goes!
I am very particular about rating my music. Every day at work, as songs play on my iPhone, I give them a star rating. This star rating then transfers to iTunes when I sync my phone. Most times, these ratings go through just fine. Sometimes, however, rather than just rating a single song with three stars on an album... It'll give the whole album in iTunes three stars. (Three stars is just an example.)
What I mean is that if viewing an album list, the album rating will be hard coded per se on the left and give all the songs three stars even if I never listened to / rated them. I can then click to remove the rating on the album on the left, and the unrated / unplayed songs will lose that hard coded rating and return to no rating.
What am I doing wrong? Lol. It drives me crazy! Once a month I view all my albums as a list so I can remove the hard coded ratings. There are usually six or seven albums that'll have it. I do nothing different on the iPhone that I am aware of.
Has anyone else experienced this situation or have a solution? I'm on an iPhone 4S, latest software. This also occurred with my iPhone 3GS

Dropping Connection with My Two Networked XP SP2 Machines, Windows Update Issue???

Sorry to interject a completely different problem here, but I have experienced the following.
Blame me for the newb I am, but here is what I did after repeatedly losing conn and thinking that my modem was burned up after 2 years of use:
1) Attempted to buy a new DSL modem on Easter Sunday...good luck...
2) Went back home after not finding said modem to find connection working again
3) Wife did not use her desktop for 10 days due medical procedure (no connection problems)
4) Wife gets better, uses her networked computer, I start losing connection again.
5) Not realizing step 4, I call ATT dsl and am told, maybe you need a new filter on your DSL line. DL speeds return to proper speeds, think I am fine.
6) Wife uses Outlook 18 hours later while I am on my networked machine, we both lose connection
7) After reconnecting all possible wires, realize maybe the problem is with the latest Windows Update Patch OR a router problem
8) Go to my trusty Best Buy contact at nearby store, named Jason, and ask Jason if he has heard anything like this in the last 6 weeks...He THANKED ME PROFUSELY as he and his brother were experiencing the SAME networking problem. Jason removed the past 7 windows update patches and that removed the problem for him.
He has since turned off Windows Updates. Jason said that a couple of the update patches could not be uninstalled, but the 7 or so that could be uninstalled did the trick and he has not had dropped connections since.
Anyone else experiencing this? I talked to a cable modem user/friend and he has been experiencing similar problems but the Microsoft utility with his router allows him to double click to re-establish a connection, unlike me who has to power everything down, count to sixty, and power up.
(I have not yet uninstalled the patches but wondering what others have seen)

Issue: When a user goes to Windows update it shows Windows is up to Date, even using "Check for updates" but when selects "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update" it comes back with available updates.
We always when deploying workstations to our users install the SCCM client but we do have some remote users who workstation cycle has not cycled and who do not connect to our corporate network so don't have an SCCM client.
I need to cover all scenario's for patch management if they have a SCCM client or don't and whether they connect or don't connect.
Additionally, what I have found is when I take a computer off network, make workstation domain, our GPO's got tattooed. I resolve this by renaming registry.pol to old and rebooting. When I add the machine back to domain it goes into a OU
that does not have any GPO's assigned and is blocking. Still when I evaluate the GP it shows local policy winning and a setting for windows update that points at our configuration manager. The only way that can get there is from the SCCM agent and I
can't find where that is being set as we are not defining it on the agent.
So two issues to resolve
1) if user has an SCCM agent installed and they are not connecting to our network frequently enough to get Patch deployments that without user intervention their system will check MSFT updates and install patches.
2) How to address tattooing of local policy setting pointing to our SCCM server when an agent is installed. I want to have them have both options have an SCCM patch install or of automatically going to MSFT for patch installs.

First note that local group policies never win over domain group policies. However, settings within group policies that are not configured are never enforced, that's the meaning of not configured. Thus, the settings in the local group policy will be
effective. For ConfigMgr, if you have a SUP, then the ConfigMgr client agent configures a local group policy that sets the SUS server.
1) The only way to get this behavior would be to use some type of policy enforcement mechanism that detects the location of the system and sets/overrides the policy. Alternatively, you could implment Internet Based Client Management which will allow you
to manage the systems even when they are not on your internal network as long as they have an Internet connection. This includes software updates.
2) See above.
Also, to address one other item, the update list available from Windows Update/Microsoft Update is different from that is available to WSUS. Generally IME, the WSUS list is a subset of the WU/MU list and does not include some of the more "optional" updates
or consumer oriented updates.

SCCM Windows Updates - Client stuck on Downloading but never finishes

I am running SCCM 2007 with 200 clients. I have been sucessfully performing windows updates through SCCM without an issue for about 6 months. Recently I approved updates released in March and most of the updates installed ok, but there are two, KB938464 and KB958690, which sit on status Downloading for hours until the desktop is switched off at night. The times reach 14 hours on some machines.
I have tried to cancel the updates by removing them from the Advertisements and from the Deployment packages but they still try to run everyday on 167 of 200 desktops. If I manually go to Windows Update and install the updates the issue goes away, however, you can imagine my unwillingness to do this across 167 stations if I can avoid it.
How can I do one or both of the following:
A) Cancel the updates so they no longer want to run on the clients
B) Fix the issue so the updates download properly.
The process that I use to approve and deploy updates:
Under Site Database -> Computer Management -> Software Updates
I select the updates I want to deploy and add them to a new update list. I place a check into the box to download the files associated to the updates.
Once the update list is built I select to deploy the updates, give it a name that represents the update period
I select a template that deploys but suppresses restart in the updates.
I select a deployment package, the same one I used for all my past updates
Download from the Internet
English
Schedule
Finish.
This has worked sucessfully for months.

On my VISTA Business edition, I was getting BSOD (blue screen) so I booted the system in Safe Mode with Networking. But in this mode when I go to Start Menu-->All Programs-->Windows Updates, nothing happens. Please help.

Steps:
1-Open command prompt with admin mode
Or Boot from DVD in command prompt mode.(This is what i experienced, able to show the safe mode menu)
2- Write this command "bcdedit /set {default} bootmenupolicy legacy" and click enter
3- You can now press F8 while Windows 8 starts in order to access Safe Mode and other Advanced Boot options.

This issue still exists! My issue has not been resolved and is only getting worse. I'm now receiving a windows update standalone installer- installed encountered error 08x00704c7 server execution error. In addition, I am unable to attach
to Microsoft's server????? I received nothing that would have helped me to answer my question in my inbox and I did make additional comments on this page for this issue.
It was stated that I was unable to run the dism command!!!!!!!!! Rights issue? Windows update is not functioning either (see above)
