SCCM WSUS Synchronization fails with error 0x80131904

With no reason the software update point in SCCM 2012 CU3 fails to synchronize update from the local installed WSUS service. I have checked the WSUS Sync manager log and what I have got is in the image below. I have tried to uninstall and the WSUS service
and reinstalled it but no success. I have also used the clean up option from the WSUS console and no success yet.
From the log below I am quite sure that if I can force the removal or clean up those updates that are failing to get saved the SCCM Update point synchronization might be able to fully synchronize. I hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance.

  • SCCM software installation failed with error for 1603

    Dear all
I was trying to deploy Open Office 4.1.0 using SCCM.
As per many threads the issue might be with the MSI. but I could not figure  out.
    Please help me.
install fails with error code 1603
    -sumeet

is this application failure or client installation failure ? with just one error code, difficult to find the exact issue. 1603 is generic error that refers to Fatal error during installation. Are you sure that the command line what you have used is correct
    and is working manually ?
Check the logs for additional information that might help to trace the problem.

Here is the complete smsts.log: http://1drv.ms/1pwTEBf
To explain the Problem in Detail:
The SCCM Primary Site Server and the Clients are in different trusted (bidirectional) forests!
Everythings working fine in this Scenario, I can install SCCM Agent on the Clients with Manual ccmsetup and with Client Push Installation. Additionally i can deploy Software Updates and so on... only OSD is crashing in the releaserequest step.
During my Tasksequence new Clients are joined to Domain A while SCCM Primary Site Server is installed in Domain B
If I change my TS and let the Clients also join Domain B everything works without any Problems and the Tasksequence finish without any Errors.
My Problem must be related to the different Domains and the forest trust.
    My Setup:
MP published to DNS in both domains
    Schema Extended in both domains
System Management Container published and verified in both domains
ccmsetup Parameters in TS: ccmsetup SMSMP=sccm.domain.b FSP=sccm.domain.b DNSSUFFIX=Domain.b
Network Access account configured with Domain B account
Domain Join account has create Computer rights on the OU in Domain A (Domain join is successful)
DNs conditional forwarders configured in both Domains and DNS resolutin is working in both directions
    Any suggestions?
    Many thanks.
    regards,
    Christian

    Hi Christian,
So do you actual get an error message in your TS or is it just failing to join Domain B?  (Could be both if the machines fails to join the domain).
Can you review netsetup.log on the machines after the issue and see what error message you might be getting during the domain join process?
Also, if it a domain join issue, can you try manually joining to domain B using the same service account?

  • SCCM2012 - CcmSetup failed with error code 0x80190191

I can't get client push working. Getting these errors:
CcmSetup failed with error code 0x80190191
Failed to download files through BITS. Error: 0x80190191, Description HTTP status 401: The requested resource requires user authentication.
, Context: The error occurred while the remote file was being processed.
I still have SCCM 2007 running with existing boundaries as I am trying to migrate. Is that the problem? I found an article similar from SMS 2003 to SCCM 2007 so I'm not sure if it applies.
    Site servers are 2008 R2
    GPO startup script is working.
    Ideas? Thanks!

I just enabled Windows Authentication in IIS... Let's see what happens. I'm frustrated as this was working about a month ago when I tested it to a limited group.
Didn't work. I restarted the default web site. Restarted server too. Enable basic authentication?
I found similar issues regarding bits authentication and WSUS but nothing seems to help yet.
Also, prior to the errors I'm getting these warning which are actually inaccurate...

  • Updates not applying: Scan failed with error = 0x80072efd.

Hi, I'm trying to troubleshoot windows updates which are configured through SCCM2012R2.  The WSUS server is installed on server 2012R2, version 6.3.9600.16384.   I have it running on the custom website (using ports 8530 and 8531).  For
a few weeks, my clients were configured with a conflicting group policy (pointing to the old wsus server).  I removed that policy, and now the sccm agent is setting the local group policy to use the proper wusus server.  Clients are windows 7 enterprise.
These clients do not have access to the internet.
Now, updates are still failing, with the following events in the wuahandler.log
    Its a WSUS Update Source type ({8C51EBC1-265B-4889-8CC4-0B9EF237D704}), adding it.WUAHandler 4/9/2014 4:53:09 PM 4028 (0x0FBC)

For troubleshooting so far, I have disabled the client firewall, restarted the wsus server, and confirmed that the clients can get to the default IIS page on the wsus server.  I'll try reinstalling the sccm client now, and will report back.
After much searching, none of the answers I have found online were of any help.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I did manage to reinstall the client, and when I look at WUAhandler.log now, I see the following:
Its a WSUS Update Source type ({8C51EBC1-265B-4889-8CC4-0B9EF237D704}), adding it. WUAHandler 4/9/2014 5:42:57 PM 3344 (0x0D10)

So that's strange, if it's NOT CONFIGURED (microsoft's caps), you wouldn't think it would be a problem.  So, If I generate a group policy results report, I get the following:
Policy:Specify intranet Microsoft update service location
    Setting: Enabled
    Winning GPO: Local Group Policy
Set the intranet update service for detecting updates: http://Myserver-12R2-WSUS.MyDomain.local:8530
Set the intranet statistics server: http://Myserver-12R2-WSUS.MyDomain.local:8530
Which is exactly what I think the SCCM agent is supposed to do.
Thanks in advance.  Hopefully one of the wise souls in this forum can lead me to the light!
    Kevin
P.S. I can post the full log if anyone's interested.

    any ideas why its failing?

    Hi,
I've seen the same error on a customer where we had Windows Intune Client (SCCM) installed previously. Did you try it on a newly deployed computer? If you had Intune or another CCM client on it previously make sure you clean it up. Here is a well formulated
    instruction:
    http://douwevanderuit.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/removing-windows-intune-client/
Usually when deploying to many clients we use a startup script, there is a great one that Jason Sandys made in the link below.
    http://blog.configmgrftw.com/configmgr-client-startup-script/
There should be no problems deploying SCCM 2012 R2 clients on Windows 8.1 unless there is something wrong with either the setup or the client computer.
All the best, Jesper Hassing - MCTS SCCM 2012 - MCSA 2012 Server - MCP

    Hello World,
I have this remote server that used to be a sms 2003 secondary site server. We uninstalled the SMS role. And used the server as an SCCM remote distribution point. We also want to install an client agent on that server machine. But no mather how i try
to install the client i always see the same error in ccmsetup.log:

I think the installer finds some remenance of the old SMS_MP. When looking i found some remains in IIS . I tried to remove the remains but still have the same error when installing the client. I uninstalled IIS completly. Can someone tell me where the client
installer looks for the MP version? Would it help if i installed an SCCM MP on that server and the uninstalled it (Upgrade the MP)?

    Guess what
    It worked !

Synchronization Failed. Error is Firefox service initialization failed.<br />
I have been having this issue for quite some time with Firefox. I am using the Nightly build (23.0a1) and have been using for more than 2 years. Synchronization was working fine till a few weeks ago. Synchronization of XMarks on Chrome Dev works fine and no problem. It's only with Firefox. Things I've tried but no success:
    1) I deleted my profile off of xmarks and created a new one and tried syncing again. No success.<br />
    2) deleted firefox, deleted the profile folder under AppData. Reinstalled everything fresh, and still no success.<br />
My log file shows the following... Not sure what to check. Anyone help me? Thanks!

Re Patrick's suggestion above, I was able to get Xmarks working again on both my Win 7 laptop and desktop today by uninstalling my Aurora browser completely and then installing the regular release version of Firefox, 20.0.1.
When I uninstalled Aurora, it asked me if I wanted to keep my customizations and personal data, and even though it meant a bit more restoration work later, I decided to try erasing all my Aurora settings and data and starting fresh. (But before doing so, I backed up all my bookmarks by exporting to an html file and my add-on settings via Firefox Sync.
After that, I installed and started with a clean slate version of regular Firefox, and proceeded to then reinstall my various add-ons and import my saved bookmarks from the html file. As soon as I re-installed Xmarks and re-logged into my Xmarks account, the automatic syncing process went fine and no more error messages or failures.
I had been using Aurora for months prior with Xmarks and never had any syncing problem until the first week of April. And at that point, the syncing function broke on both my laptop and desktop, which were both running the daily updated versions of Aurora. So I'm believing that something was changed in Aurora that caused this problem.

I have reviewed Palm Support Page and the forums and recognize this is an old story but the solutions offered haven't worked for me.  I have had my Tungsten 2E for over a year and an earlier version before that.  It has been working well for me until I had a problem (out of the blue) with the HotSync.  I reinstalled the Palm software after checking cables, etc.  I was able to relink and get updated info from my handheld to the desktop but with a few blips in DocstoGo where I had to delete documents and add them back to the desktop and resync with the handheld.  All the info is on the handheld but see the log below to see the message "System synchronization failed".  A suggestion by other users is to delete the "PmTraceDatabase" to file C:\Program Files\Palm\N\Backup\PmTraceDatabase.PDB but I cannot find the named file on my desktop program files for Palm.
Does anyone have an explanation other than "live with it" since I believe I'm getting all my info synced?
