SCCM2012 Status Summarizers no longer functional since R2 upgrade

Status Summarizers in the CM12 console indicate that there are status messages to view. However, when you right-click a Status Summarizer
point to Show Messages, and then click All,
the CM12 console does not display any status messages. 
Rootcause: Backlog on CM12 primary in
Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\inboxes\statmgr.box\retry, the Retry folder
contains a large number of .sql files.
SQL files are failing due to a change in sp_InsContentDistributionStatus between SCCM2012 SP1 and SCCM2012 R2. Specifically, a new 3rd parameter, @PackageVersion, was added which causes
a bigint value intended for @StatusID to fail to convert. This is a confirmed CM12 R2 bug. (yet unpublished by MS) 
Solution: Move all .sql files out of the
Statmgr.box\Retry folder and restart the SMSEXEX svc on your CM12 primary. Status messages will start replicating again after SMSEXEC is restarted and you should see no more
files in the \statmgr.box\retry folder
