SCCM2012R2 Client process after WSUS syncronization completes

Hi,
I was wondering if someone could confirm the process for the 2012R2 client behaviour after the WSUS/SUP has completed a synchronization after Patch Tuesday (as set in an ADR)
Do the clients run a compliance scan as per the client settings assigned? or is it immediately after the sync has completed? as I read in Sybex Mastering SCCM 2012R2 (page 377) "that a site wide machine policy is created that allows client computers
to retrieve a location for WSUS and start a scan for software update compliance" so does the client respond to this or stick to the schedule as per client settings?
Am asking as I had a network issue caused by WSUS traffic and clients on a slow link trying to download a 35MB file.......which appears to be the update catalogue data.
No problem last month or the month before and nothing in SCCM has changed, so not sure on why I have seen the issue.

thanks for the response, yup I have seen this happen on a server and followed the coretech article a couple of months ago to get WSUS working again, as I know you're super experienced with SCCM , what would you expect the catalogue size to be? can I find
out in one of the server logs?
As the clients were using a standard client setting, I enabled a custom one for the site affected to restrict BITS initially to only 10Kbs, and only scan once a day at 3:30 so that any clients that do not have the latest catalogue are doing it at a quieter
time of the day and hopefully it will not affect business critical systems, I do think that 10Kbps is very restrictive and may cause issues though, may I ask what are your thoughts on this?
I have come into this project kind of halfway through and there appears to be a few items like this that need addressing with regards to setting up custom client settings so that the system runs as efficiently as possible.

You can automatically save downloads without seeing the Open/Save/Cancel dialog in the Options:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > General > "Saves files to"
However, I can't think of a way to have the Open/Save/Cancel dialog always default to Save. I think mine suggests whatever I did last for the same type of content, but I haven't paid close attention.

Is it possible you had a download-related extension before? To compare settings and extensions, please retain the Old Firefox Data folder on your desktop. Aside from checking the extensions in there, it would be interesting to run a text file comparison on your currently active prefs.js file and your old one in that folder.

Overall Status of order Being processed after complete PGI & Billing

Dear All,
Before writing this post i tried all possible solution available on SCN & internet.
In sales order overall status (GBSTK) is Being processed after doing complete delivery and Billing.
I tried many things changed the completion rule also run the program SDVBUK00 but the status is not updated to complete.
Created 1 sales order with 1 material without any reference then done PGI for 1 material then done billing successfully.
In table VBUK / VBUP the field GBSTK / GBSTA showing Being processed, for delivery and invoice its showing completed "C".
I checked the Incompletion Log also there is nothing pending.
Please refer screenshots and provide me solutions.

I have taken 1 quantity and it confirmed.

SP3 Almost completes installation but freezes at the Finishing stage showing "Running processes after install"

I have an HP Pavilion zd7000 laptop with Windows XP & SP2 update installed. Processor is Intel Pentium 4. My system is clean with no rubbish software running. I have several anti-malware & anti-spyware systems installed but they are dormant & not running during the attempted installation. SP3 almost completes installation but freezes at "Finishing" stage showing "Running processes after install". Anti-virus is of course switched off. The system then hangs fore-ever with hard disc activity showing intermittently but nothing else happening. Luckily, by holding down the laptop on/off switch I can always eventually restore to previous settings & recover full use but without SP3! This is annoying & frustrating. I have seen a lot of threads about this problem but no real answers. Can anyone help please?

What is Shmrate.exe is not running?
This can be read two different ways

Note that an adminstrator is only a adminstrator and Computer Adminstrator can install Sp(s). Which I believe is tyour question. Which is my guess.
Which is the reason some people reccommend installing from the "Adminstrator" account Which generally is not a User account. Yes some people add and modify there account access by using Subinacl.exe and reset.cmd, which bumps the account from adminstrator to Computer Adminstrator. An alternative is to boot into safe mode. Pressing the *F8* key before the windows welcome screen starts up. And selecting safe mode. Which is why more people report success with using the .ISO install.
To add to your confusion. Windows Sp2 usually has windows installer 3.0, or windows installer 3.1
Table us types of accounts. I wish windows 200 documentation had made it completely into Xps documentation. They had an excellent table with tthe types of accounts
Limited user. Not able to run more then basic programs. Not able to ;install device drivers, not able to install progras, not able to install Sp(s)s
Power user Able to run more advanced programs. IE Defragger.
adminstrator. Mess with the operating system, back up things, able to install programs, add users.When Windows Xp is installed this is the type of user associated with adminstrator. NOT CA
Computer adminstrator. Able to Install of all things Sp(s).
Hopefully this helps you out. Of course there is the release notes, Xp solution center and of course things to do before installing Sp3.

Windows 8.1 will not get Forefront Client Updates from WSUS

Recently I noticed that my Windows 8.1 clients were not getting updates from WSUS 3.2. After some searching I found it was an issue with HTTPS and the solution was to disable HTTPS or enable TLS. So I enabled TLS on the Server 2008 R2 WSUS server
and that fixed the issue with my 8.1 clients not getting updates except for Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010. My SCCM server deploys the client fine but it is version 2.1 and normally the client and definition updates come from WSUS with the
latest client version being 4.5. However, my Windows 8.1 machines will not get the client updates even though they are automatically approved for all machines.
I am just wondering what else I can check or change to make sure my Windows 8.1 clients get the Forefront client updates as they should?? I am wondering if I manually install the 4.1 client update if it will take the client updates after that.
I only have about eight Windows 8.1 machines so if I have to do that by hand for now then I will and I think my organization will be moving to Server 2012 and SCCM 2012 this summer sometime.

I reread your post and have another suggestion. If your SCCM 2007 server is still deploying the old 2.1 FEP client version, then you should install the latest anti-malware platform update for the SCCM server so you can deploy it from there instead of WSUS:

Reader 9.3 causing IE to stay in processes after closing

After installing the latest Reader (9.3) for a client, their Internet Explorer remains in memory after closing it completely (iexplore.exe processes stay in task manager). This wouldn't be a problem because IE still starts back up just fine, but it causes another program they use to hang when they are trying to perform some tasks in it. When it hangs, I can close out the processes, but there's a 50/50 chance it stops hanging and continues or stays hung up. After uninstalling Reader, IE closes out fine and immediately, and their other program works fine. The other program is a little older, most likely a Windows 3.1 16-bit program. I was not yet been able to disable the Link Helper add-on for IE to see if that was the cause. Any other ideas?

Try this:
Right click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pops ups up. Right click again on "Internet Explorer". Then left click on "Run as administrator". I had a different problem with Reader and this solved the problem. The problem I had was I could not save pdf files in IE8. This solved that problem.

How to automate the WM/shipping process after the consignment issue ?

I am looking for the best way to automate the shipping process after the consignment issue orders has been created. since Warehouse/shipping process will not consist of any actual picking and shipment but we are still required to go through the use of Vl01N and VL02N for Delivery Note and Good issue... steps......I want to know if there is any best practice is to automate the call to VL01N,VLO2N for all the completed consignment issue orders that SAP suggest or someone has done some work in this space.....and can share their views.....

After studying ACR completely, there are some points I could not solve the mystery about them ... so need your helps.
My platform is Windows 7 64-bit ...
1. "Apply auto tone adjustments" option in the preference dialog is not same with the "auto" option on the basic tab. When I check "Apply auto tone adjustments" option, "auto" button on the basic tab is always active and I always get slightly different results when I click it.
2. There is "ignore sidecar .xmp files" in the DNG file handling section on the preferences dialog. From the Photoshop forum, I learnt that it may be used with the read-only DNG files for writing xmp metadata to the sidecar .xmp file if this option is unchecked. But, this usage is not so relevant what the name of option says ... and there are some different explanations in the Photoshop CS6 Reference. Is there any other usage for this option ... like the information mentioned in the official reference document?
3. In the settings panel, there is an option called "clear imported settings". What is the function of it? Indeed, I have never seen it as active.
4. And lastly, as I mentioned in another topic, it seems to me that the saturation sliders on the camera calibration tab need more testing ... in Lightroom, I even get more unnatural results.

#1: As far as I know, Apply Auto from prefs does an auto adjustment as the image is is rendered when making the initial "default" rendering for Bridge. Once the full raw image is loaded, if the full raw data results in a slightly different Auto analysis, the Auto button will be enabled and the Auto is run on the full raw data and you'll get a similar but different result. I've seen images that come in with the Auto prefs enabled where the Auto button is dimmed meaning the initial and full res analysis is the same.
#2: If a native raw and a DNG of that raw file are in the same folder, ACR will use the .xmp sidecar file as the image settings–even if there are xmp settings in the DNG. Setting the prefs to ignore side car files means there will be no conflict.
#3: primarily used when some other application has made image settings to the raw image. Principally useful for clearing settings from raw files touched by ACR hosted in Elements (as far as I know) because Elements ACR only has a small subset of all potential ACR settings.
#4: The Camera Calibration settings are designed for adjusting the sensor calibration for sensors whose color rendering differs from the sample tested by Adobe. The calibration sliders are actually depreciated now because they predate DNG profiles. Thomas was ready to rip them out (back when DNG profiles went in-ACR 4.6/5.0) but was persuaded to keep them for creative purposes by Martin Evening (and me) because they could be used for color FX like cross-processing. There is very little likelihood there will be any changes forthcoming because, well, DNG profiles offer superior color calibration rather than manual slider adjustment. So, I suspect you'll just have to learn to live with what is there now-unless you have some evidence that DNG profiles don't provide a superior calibration.

I didn't try this before, but if you use systemd, you may want to try systemd.confirm_spawn to invoke interactive booting process, so you can start the services one by one manually therefore locate the one throwing out error message.

Stalling:Error in background rendering so switching to foreground rendering after 0 frames completed

Our facility is running AE CS6 ver 11.0.0.378 on 8 core Mac Pros with 32 Gb ram running OSX10.6.8
using Thinkbox Deadline 5.2 for distributed rendering to other 8 Core Mac Pros with 32 Gb ram.
The issue is that we are in crunch mode trying to deliver 4K comps (soon to be 8k comps) and we are experience substantial
delays 10-20 minutes after the AERENDER starts, but before it starts doing any fruitful rendering.
We are reading from and writing to Quicktime movie files (which normally works just fine for us) and thus the entire frame range needs
to get computed on a single host.
The symptom is that many comp jobs (but not all) stall for a while with no apparent actibity before spitting this messgage, but then happily
and swiftly complete each frame in a second or less with no errors:

in foreground mode. During this time, there doesn't seem to be any signficant CPU or Network or IO activity. I looked for command line args that might force AERENDER to foreground mode, but didn't find anything.

We're under the gun to get this production delivered, and these delays are killing us. I worry when we switch to 8K comps
that the "fruitless delay time" will just get longer.
I'm currently trying to correlate the plug-in assortments in effect for the shots that exhibit this behaviour. Clearly in "foreground mode" the machines are capable of rendering the shot quickly.   We've speculated, that posibly some plugins may be GPU or OpenGL accelerated (these machines have ATI Radeon HD 5770 cards) despite the fact that AERENDER probably doesn't require special graphics cards).
Anyone have any ideas, especially if there is some way for force the foreground mode from the start?

Just to follow up, Our compositing supervisor was still convinced that running with MP was the way to go, so I worked
with him to run some benchmarks on medium and heavy shots that we determinied would trigger the issue in -MP mode.
The test scene was about 50 frames in length, and we ran it on the same hosts with -MP on and -MP off, and also ran a
version of bundled frames (10 frames per host/task) and another where we did all 50 frames on a single host (with and without MP).
Interestingly, in every scenerio of these 4 cases, the version with -MP on, was 2-15% faster (despite the 10-11 minute delay at the start in MP mode).
His conclusion was it's still faster with -MP mode ON, and requested that I continue to explore for patches or theories how we might get around the delay.

FD01 FD02 start process after update/commit

Dear All,
Is it possible to run method after complete customer data update/creation (FD02/FD01)
Before commit is simple to find the place where to make modification (e.g. EXIT_SAPMF02D_001),
but after commit is not so obvious, because validations are done in many places so it is difficult to find place where I can check all warnings/errors and after that call method (or not if errors occure).
to summarize: someone is updating/creating customer (FD02/FD01) than in abap we are checking if there is no errors and run method (initiating interface)

You can try this trick (I think there's a post but I don't rember which is):
A) Create a global class (SE24) having a method (example AFTER_COMMIT) based on the event TRANSACTION_FINISHED of class CL_SYSTEM_TRANSACTION_STATE
B) In the exit of FD01/FD02 raise the method of your class
Your method should be called as soon as the first COMMIT occurs
For example:
set handler ztest_max=>after_commit.
commit work.
In my example I've create the class ZTEST_MAX, the method AFTER_COMMIT will be processed after COMMIT WORK

Trigger a report to run after dataloads are completed for 2 separate cubes

Hello,
Can someone please suggest how to accompish the following:
I have a report built on a multiprovider that contains 2 infocubes.
I would like to trigger the report to run only after dataloads for both of the cubes been completed.
I am using BI 7.0
Previously we were on 3.5 and was able to use event collector to do this. Event collector is not available in 7.0 anymore.

Have you thought of using information brodacasting and scheduling the chain using the process type - Trigger event on data change).

If the two cubes are loaded in the same chain, then you could have an AND process type after the two DTP's/IP's and trigger the event after the successful completion of the loading of both.
In information broadcasting you can define the broadcast setting of the query to execute when the event of data change is triggered by the process chain.
If the two cubes are loaded in two different chains, then you may need to use a custom ABAP program , which updates a table regarding the successful completion of load of a particular cube and you have to check after the load of one cube, if the other has completed ( by checking the table in ABAP) and then use the process type, trigger data change event.

Since the NEW version has been installed, I've receive an update notice of a critical update. Each time I select to apply that update the dialog display never apply any update, it looks to be in a processing state but never completes.

Any Firefox updates are set to automatically update on my computer. I currently have version 4.0.

(1) a Flash Player stopped flashing, an "player stopped" message appeared, "send error report" and a reload player message was included. (2) I just received a error message > 400 "Bad Request" when the browser first opened. This has never happened before.

I just realized that I wrote that I installed from app store originally, but I must correct that statement. I never paid for the app so it must have come preinstalled on my 2011 iMac. I was confused since the update is through the store so I assumed I downloaded it. Sorry for any miscommunication.
So to be clear, even though I have never remotely administered / accessed my computer and I no longer have ARD on my computer, it is normal to have the client update appear in my App Store. Is that correct?

In-Flight BPEL Process Instances not getting Completed

I have BPEL P.M. 10.1.3.1.0 running. In BPEL Console I can see few process in
In-Flight BPEL Process Instances section. But in realty those process should be in completed section. When I login as bpeladmin in worklist application, I see those process are in completed status.
What can be issue? Any one come across this? Any patch available from metalink to resolve this?

I see this too sometimes. In my case it's mostly due to the fact that the first activity that takes places after the callback fails. E.g. a transform that fails with a type error.
Check the bpel domain log file to find any errors in your bpel that's receiving the callback. There's probably something wrong with an assign or transform there.
The domain logfile can be found @: $ORACLE_HOME/bpel/domains/<your_domain>/logs/domain.log
