SCE 8000 spam mitigation and subscriber notification

Hello everyone,
could you help me with misunderstanding of sce based subscriber spam notification?
I'm trying to implement the scheme where subscriber should be notified for the spam activity only once. So I set options like on pictures below, but my test subscriber blocked permanently. I even tryed to wait about a day, but without success. Obviosly if I drop subscriber session manually it will help, but it's doesn't seems as proper solution.
According to "Cisco Service Control Service Security: Outgoing Spam Mitigation Solution Guide", a subscriber doesn't considered as spamer after certain timeout of spam inactivity, I tryed to wait about a day, but without success.
So whether feature don't work or I do it wrong, so could you explain me please, how I should implement notifying subscriber only once till next spam accident?

Well, the answer was the following command:
connection-mode inline on-failure external-bypass

  • What else SCE couldn't do without Collection manager and Subscriber Manager for SCE?

    Can we still monitor the traffic and control the subscriber even we do not have any Collection manager and Subscriber Manager? with SCE alone couldn't analysis or control the traffic?

    Hi,
    Without CM you can not generate reports based on RDR collection process. For example if you dont have Collection Manager you can not generate reports that are predefined on the SCA Reporter or insight. Only you can do is you can poll SNMP counters/values by a s/w and you can graph them, but it is not suitable and not covers the all data that SCE collects and reports. And for the SM side if you want to communicate with a policy/external server you really need an SM, also you can use its internal Quota manager to count quota.

  • The Publish-Subscribe Notification latency in OCI is 5 seconds

    I have an OCI application where I register a callback to receive publish-subscribe notifications from an Oracle queue.
    The problem that I have is that I am receiving messages every 5 seconds intervals (the callback is called every 5 seconds if there are messages in the queue).
    It looks like that there is a process that is monitoring the database queue every 5 seconds. Is there a way to change that behavior?.
    I am getting the same behavior in Windows and Linux systems.
    This is the PL/SQL code that I am executing to create the database queue:
    DECLARE
    subscriber sys.aq$_agent;
    BEGIN
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE(
    QUEUE_TABLE=>'TestUser."TestTable_msg_table"',
    MULTIPLE_CONSUMERS => TRUE,
    QUEUE_PAYLOAD_TYPE =>'RAW');
    DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE(
    QUEUE_NAME=>'TestUser."TestTable_queue"',
    QUEUE_TABLE=>'TestUser."TestTable_msg_table"');
    DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE('TestUser."TestTable_queue"');
    subscriber := sys.aq$_agent('AGENT', null, null);
    DBMS_AQADM.ADD_SUBSCRIBER(
    QUEUE_NAME=> 'TestUser."TestTable_queue"',
    SUBSCRIBER => subscriber,
    DELIVERY_MODE => DBMS_AQ.BUFFERED);
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE TRIGGER TestUser."TestTable_changes"
    AFTER DELETE OR INSERT OR UPDATE ON TestUser."TestTable"
    FOR EACH ROW
    DECLARE
    enq_ct dbms_aq.enqueue_options_t;
    msg_prop dbms_aq.message_properties_t;
    enq_msgid raw(16);
    userdata raw(100);
    BEGIN
    enq_ct.visibility := DBMS_AQ.IMMEDIATE;
    enq_ct.delivery_mode := DBMS_AQ.BUFFERED;
    msg_prop.delay := DBMS_AQ.NO_DELAY;
    DBMS_AQ.ENQUEUE('TestUser."TestTable_queue"',enq_ct, msg_prop,userdata,enq_msgid);
    END;
    This is the OCI code that I am executing to register for changes into the queue:
    /* Allocate subscription */
    OCIHandleAlloc((dvoid *)hEnv,(dvoid **)&hSub,
              (ub4) OCI_HTYPE_SUBSCRIPTION,
              (size_t) 0, (dvoid **) 0);
    OCIAttrSet((dvoid *)hSub, (ub4) OCI_HTYPE_SUBSCRIPTION,
    (dvoid *) subName, (ub4) strlen(subName),
    (ub4) OCI_ATTR_SUBSCR_NAME, hError);
    /* Subscription callback */
    OCIAttrSet((dvoid *)hSub,(ub4)OCI_HTYPE_SUBSCRIPTION,
    (dvoid *) onTableChange, (ub4) 0,
    (ub4) OCI_ATTR_SUBSCR_CALLBACK, hError);
    /* Set subscription context */
    OCIAttrSet((dvoid *) tblInfo, (ub4) OCI_HTYPE_SUBSCRIPTION,
    (dvoid *) 0, (ub4) 0,
    (ub4) OCI_ATTR_SUBSCR_CTX, hError);
    /* Set subscription namespace */
    OCIAttrSet((dvoid *) hSub, (ub4) OCI_HTYPE_SUBSCRIPTION,
    (dvoid *) &subNamespace, (ub4) 0,
    (ub4) OCI_ATTR_SUBSCR_NAMESPACE, hError);
    /* Begining Registration for subscription */
    OCISubscriptionRegister(hSvc,&hSub,1,hError,OCI_DEFAULT);
    Thanks

    This has come up before. No definitive solution but a purge of the queue is worth a try:

  • Cisco SCE 8000 rebooting

    Hi!
    Cisco SCE 8000 working normally while traffic through it not pass. When i connect optical links and start passing traffic throught cisco, i have a problem. SCE watchdog run software reboot with error:
    2013-09-30 13:54:40 | FATAL | CPU #000 | A problem occurred in the  SCE8000 Service Control Module Extended (SCM-E) slot 1 ,Please report to Cisco's customer support.

    In debug file i found:

    What the problem could be?

    I have tried 3.7.2, 3.8.5, 4.0.0.  Unfortunately, the result is the same. I think that hardware problem (RAM).

  • Memory Leak in Publish-Subscribe Notification

    I am using publish-subscribe notification for async-notification on LINUX( ORACLE 8.1.7). Before doing it, I read a document(OCI Programmer!/s Guide) about publish-subscribe notification(chap.9).
    I created Queue(AQ) in database and registered callback function using 'OCISubscriptionRegister()'.
    All operations are done succesfully , but when OCISubscriptionRegister() is called, memory leak seems to occur. I check up the memory leak using LINUX system call( 'top' and 'vmstat' ).
    Does anyone have any idea or experience of this problem?

    You are likely hitting  CSCtb94072.
    The policy file should be manipulated by development engineer.
    Please open a case with TAC and ask the CSE to fix the policy (by getting development engineer assistance).
    Once you have the fixed policy PQB file perform the following CLI procedure on all SCEs on which the problem was observed:
    SCE2000>enable
    Password:
    SCE2000#cd engage
    SCE2000#delete MYENGAGE.PQB
    SCE2000#rename MYENGAG1.PQB MYENGAGE.PQB
    SCE2000#
    Once done you should be able to apply the fixed policy without any issue.
    Note: after performing the above CLI procedure, you can also successfully retrieve the policy,
    however, you must avoid doing it since the retrieved poilcy would not be the last applied one, it would be the penultimate one which you probably don't want to use.
    After applying the fixed policy, you should be able to retrieve policy successfully with no fear.
    ====
    This is more of a clarification regarding the workaround procedure:
    To get you better understand the issue.
    The last policy applied to the SCE successfully is kept under the SCE  "/engage" directory by the name MYENGAGE.PQB
    The penultimate applied policy is also kept there under the name  MYENGAG1.PQB
    When the SCA-BB GUI applies a policy it first verifies the matching SCA-BB and PP version by inspecting this MYENGAGE.PQB file.
    If the file has the corruption dealt in this defect, the apply will fail with the message of the kind:
    "Client version 3.5.5 PP18 is different than SCE version 0.0.0 PP0, therefore apply is not allowed"
    The MYENGAG1.PQB is the penultimate applied policy and it's not corrupted, renaming it MYENGAGE.PQB will assure us that the apply operation won't fail when verifying the versions are matched.
    Alternatively (for the renaming procedure) user may copy the fixed policy file into the SCE disk space under /engage directory and name it MYENGAGE.PQB, then the apply should also work fine.

  • Spam messages and install a program to hear voice ...

    Is anybody else getting spam messages over and over even if you have "blocked" and reported it as "Spam"?  This morning I got another "same message" from v2098195567946.  It is just one of many similar names from someone sending a Voice Message telling me to install a program.  I get these over and over.  Can't someone at Skype stop these spam messages?  "Automated notification.... new video message recieved...  to view video messages, install video player at viewin.com".
    Yeah, right.  Like I am about to install a program from that.  Anybody else getting these?

  • Publish and Subscribe

    Back in May I installed and set up 10.4 (10.4.0) Server and published several (8 to be exact) calendars in iCal. They all published with no problems using WebDAV on the server, and 4 other machines were able to subscribe with no problems. Three of the machines were running Panther and the fourth runs Tiger. Last week I created a new calendar, published it, and am only able to subscribe on the machine running Tiger. The remaining three Panther machines sit with the status bar not moving (after clicking the Subscribe button) and do not subscribe. At one point I had let it try to subscribe for over an hour. I am forced to hit abort, which then just sits there, or cancel which does stop the process. I can only assume that a software update in either Panther (a security update or maybe iCal 1.5.5) or an update in Tiger has broken correct functionality. Has anyone else experienced what I'm describing?

    After further troubleshooting, I discovered that one of my calendars had been corrupted. I discovered this when, on a Panther machine that I used to subscribe to this particular calendar, my alarms stopped functioning. In looking at the console log, I was seeing "2005-10-26 09:24:04.445 iCal[548] * -[NSCFString setTimeZone:]: selector not recognized
    2005-10-26 09:24:04.445 iCal[548] Exception raised during posting of notification. Ignored. exception: * -[NSCFString setTimeZone:]: selector not recognized", and this would show up immediately upon subscribing to the corrupted calendar. When I deleted this calendar from the remote iCal, my alarms began functioning again, and subscribe worked on the balance of the calendars. I looked at all events in the corrupted calendar on the server, and discovered that some of the events had multiple alarms on them. I deleted the alarms for those events and added a new alarm, and republished. Everything began to work correctly including the alarms. Somehow, Tiger iCal seemed to be able to deal with the corrupted events, whereas Panther iCal could not.

  • DHCP Security threats,Mitigation and Assessment

    Hi,
    I am doing networking project on DHCP security threats,Mitigation and assessment. I am including dhcp snooping ,am researching on  Understanding DHCP communication,Security issues in DHCP protocol and communication,DHCPattacks,DHCP Starvation attack,Mitigating Attacks,DHCP Snooping,Port-Security,Recommended product,DHCPvulnerability assessment,Rogue DHCP Server detection,DHCP Starvation assessment.
    Do anyone have better idea what else to include in this networking project.How to make it more better. do anyone have any document or any other resource where can i CAN get information about this project so that I can research little more.
    thanks

    I'll try to cover as much as possible, as this should be posted in a security forum, and the security issues can go to very deep levels.
    1. Users: need to have direct access to the exchange servers only from the internal network.
    2. Anti-Virus on the server it's self and on all the users clients.
    3. Using a front-end to publish the Exchange OWA and RPC over HTTPs to the outside (using ISA server)
    4. Have a firewall (can be configured very specificaly to allow access only to what you need)
    5. Have a Mail-Relay appliance to perform the initial anti-virus and anti-spam
    6. If data leak is an issue, you can also install a DLP solution
    I'm sure there is more, but those are the main things.

  • Facebook Notifications and email notifications on ...

    Hi
    Is that possible Facebook Notifications and email notifications on sleeping screen nokia 808 like it had on N9..
    On my 808 it shows only msgs and miscalls....any fix??

    not possible unless the app supports that behaviour. but email notifications and on notification lights has been broken on Symbian for a while, and as Symbian is in maintenance mode, is unlikely to see a fix, possibly ever.

  • Jabber and Voicemail Notifications

                       Hello guys!
    Is it possible to receive voicemail notification on both jabber and desk phone at the same time? For example, if a user has a desk phone as primary extension on CUCM 8.6, the Unity use that extension for VM. But if the user has also a jabber client version 9.x for Windows and wants to receive voicemail on jabber, what is the best design option? Assign the same DN to both jabber and desk phone?
    Also, I set up visual voicemail for jabber but left a voicemail in jabber and no notification appeared, where should i look into? The voicemail server and profile with users were added in CUP.
    Note: The scenario is a BE6000 platform with CUCM8.6, CUCxN,8.6, CUP8.6 and CUPM8.6.
    Thanks in advanced!

    Why would you have different extensions on desk phone vs. jabber? Normally this is not desired for user to manage 2 different numbers.
    If however that is a requirement you can always define alternate extension on Unity Connection.
    For VM configuration did you configure all the service in CUPS server, i.e. mailstore?
