Scenario for continuous work flow

Hi expert,
please tell me how to use 'continuous work flow'? ie. in what scenario this 'continuous work flow' will be used.

As per the whats new guide, page 12 -
Continuous execution type workflow and Single execution type workflow Data Services now supports two new workflow execution types, continuous and single. The continuous execution type flow runs all its child data flows in a loop but keeps them in the memory for the next iteration. This avoids the need to run some of the common steps of execution such as connect to repository, parse/optimize/compile ATL, and open database connections. This will improve the speed of repeated data flow execution.

Event linakge for PO work flow not transporting to Qualty system

This is Sudhakar ,
I have a problem in Event linkage for PO Release strategy work flow.
I have created a work flow for PO release strategy and done the event linkage through SWETYPV transaction code.
I have added a new entry in SWETYPV transaction code and tick the 'Linkage Activated' check box. I have done this in development server. When I saved it prompted for a request and I have saved this Under the request( Customize request).
When I create the purchase Order for the first time the work flow is getting triggered. When I run the second time its not triggering.
If I observe the reason is 'Linkage Activated' check box is getting unchecked when I create the PO. If I check it again it is asking for a request again.But after next run the linkage is again deactivated.
Can you please help why this is happening.
I have created another request in Customize client and transported first the development client, next the customise client request. When I observe in quality system an entry is created in SWETYPV transaction code for my work flow but 'Linkage Activated' check box is not checked.
How to transport 'Linkage Activated' check box to quality.
This is an urgent one. Any body please help me

What you said is correct. Its throwing one error in event trace
Feedback after error - The message is.
The mandatory input parameters of the workflow must be set.
I think I am missing some input parameters.
One more queation, I had transported this already to Quality
But the linkage activation flag is not moved. What could be the reason.

To answer your question specifically
Using ABAP api you cannot call MDM workflows as of mdm 5.5 there are no functions specific to calling MDM workflows in ABAP.If you want to implement workflows on ABAP side you need to go for SAP ECC workflows which is a different topic than MDM>
To call MDM workflows over the Java stack ie WAS (SAP portal),You have 2 ways
- UWL
- Guided Procedures.
- UWL is a way of calling MDM workflows on EP.Wherein the workflow design will be done in MDM and it will only be called in portal using appropiate connections and configurations.

Screens for Human Work Flow created using BPEL PM in SOA Suite 10.1.3.1

Hi,
I have created a bpel process having a human work flow for approving or rejecting the request {say leave request submited by the user}.
I would like to know :
1)How to create screens for such human activities?
2)Are there any tools in SOA suite which allow me to create User Screens for approving such human flows.
3)Are there any otherways to create such screens for Human activities?
Pointers are also appreciated.

Generating a default task display form doesn't really cover probably the most common use case:
1) human initiates a form that is presented to him/her
2) form is populated with fields that come from a defined database schema
3) human fills out form and submits to workflow
4) data from the form is stored in database
5) another human is presented with the form popualted with database data
6) human approves or reject form
I haven't been able to find any examples describing how to do this. Or anything in the manuals. I have another forum entry which also points to this problem:

I am using MDM java API (Version: 5.5 SP 06 Patch 2) for webdynpro. I am creating a record in MDM using MDM java API. Once the record gets created in MDM i need to call the MDM workflow. Is there any java API available to call the MDM workflow into webdynpro. If that is not possible, what is the alternative to call the MDM workflow into webdynpro.

Hi Prasanthi,
You need to use the three main classes to work with MDM Workflows
1. RetrieveWorkflowTasksCommand
2. WorkflowTask
Both of the above classes are used to retrieve the current workflow tasks.
3. WorkflowTaskAction
4. WorkflowActionMenuNode
Above classes tells the possible actions of the workflow task.
You will find more information about the above classes in the Java docs
I would still suggest to use UWL if you dont need any customization.

Hi,
For all three tasks, it is very conveniant to assign ROLE or USER itself to the task.
But for that Purchse activity would be your new and separate task it self, for which you should new task, where you can assign the RULE for the Agent. That may make it optional as per your requriement.

Can someone please help me with Basic Work flow documentation for AC 10. I am part of a implementation team and we are working on implementation of MSMP work flow in AC 10 , however i didnt have any prior experience with work flow configuration . This is my my first assignment where i am working on work flow customization and are looking for some docs which can help me to understand the basics of MSMP work flow in AC 10.
I was able to find docs on market place however they are more into configuration and customization of work flow , So can someone please assist me here to find some basic doc's for MSMP work flow which would help me to better my understanding of MSMP work flow concept .

Hi Gurus,
I am new to ESS-MSS, my client is implementign this module. Can any one please tell me what r the steps to active Work Flows to trigger mails for "Absence/Attendance application in ESS" by employee and for CATS Time sheet filling & its approvals by the manager inMSS& the related tasks.
r there any standard Work Flows to be called in R/3, if so , can any one tell me the path.
In Personnel Time Management -> Web Applications -> Leave Request
do we need to active the Work Flow templet and what input need to be given in fiends New requet____, Cancellation Request_____, & Change Request_____.

Adjustments Work Flow Question

From what I have read the best approach for a work flow when adjusting raw images is to pretty much follow the order that the adjustments appear in the adjustments tab. So one would do any RAW tuning followed by white balance then exposure and so on.
Now if I have an image that I know I will want to crop........do I crop before I make and adjustments or do I crop after the adjustments and if I do crop first, does the histogram reflect the entire raw image or just the cropped area ?

Crop as early in the adjustment-making process as you can. Likewise (but much less influential) with Straighten.
Note that automatic adjustments (Exposure, Levels, Curves) are not "live" or dynamic -- once you make them, the result of the optimization is what is saved. That means that if you apply Auto-Levels (for instance) and then crop, you will not get auto-leveling of the cropped Image -- you'll get whatever Levels settings were set when you activated the Auto-Leveler.
This is easy to see. Find a photo with some broad areas of different luminance, apply Auto-Levels to the entire Image, then crop an area of low luminance and -- keeping an eye on the histogram -- re-apply Auto-Levels. Then, just for fun, uncheck the Crop Brick.
To add to what Corky reported, the order of the Bricks is fixed, and that order is used whenever the Image is rendered -- whether to the screen or to a file or to a printer.
In a gross sense, apply your Adjustments in the order of their Bricks. But don't let that stop you from going back and tweaking Adjustments. And, as above, know that all the auto-adjustments are optimized once, and then saved as the results of the optimization.

User Exit over Work flow

hi all,
I have requirement of creating a sales order when the work Order is flagged to completion through IW32.
I checked for the User Exit avaiable for IW32 and its not trigerred when the SAVE button is clicked.
so i am planning to go for a work flow approach.
Has anyone encountered a similar situation. is there any other possible way as wrok flow would have a lot of execution time.

i am new to WF,
it was not clear, actually i want to integrate the work flow with BPM in PI (Process Integration 7.0.
i am trying to create WF part in the SAP R/3, for the the Aproval part, because PI 7.0 doesnt have the feature User decision. So i am trying to push the data of Leave details to the WF and trigger the WF in the R/3 through a proxy program.
For creating Work flow, is Bussiness Object needed? What is the use of it, but i dont have any Business object for my Leave details, What to do?
My actual thought is,
1. create srcreen in SAP R/3, which has all the relevent fields of Leave details like emp_id, start date, end date, leave balance. i will put user commands(push buttons) like Approve, Reject, change.
In Wf this screen should apear with the leve fields with the corresponding values and push buttons.
once the manager or aprover clicks any the push buttons, in the next step the corresponding action should be done.
in this, is it possible to put the logic to capture the status of the WF like approved or Rejected? and send it back to the program in which this WF called?
Is it possible? or is there any alternative solution?
here in this i have query, how can i proceed? and what are the pre requisits to create WF?( like Busines Objects, triggring events, sep sequences, contaner elements, data base tables and structures etc.) and how do i create it?
can you give me the code? and Tcodes, to maitain events, etc....

Subcontracting scenario for Wet Husk to dry husk

Dear All,
             We have a unique scenario for job work . We produce wet husk. Then we send this to outside vendor for drying. After that we receive it as a different material code with Dry husk.Scenario looks ok till now. But the pricing of Vendor is little different.
            Vendor decides price which includes 3 components.
1) Freight charge every time a truck comes for loading and unloading it charges Rs 300/ trip
2) Rent for the area. Vendor pays Rs 20000/pm for the area where job work is happening.So no matter how much husk is dried per month this amount is fixed.
3) Vendor charges job work fees not per TON but the number of labors he uses in that work. Say in some season he may use less number of users for more quantity of job work.
            Most importantly it provides bill every month.So we are confused how we will map this scenario so that all the prices should go to the finished product at the end of the process.
            Only 5% tolerance is given during MIRO for change in Price with respect to PO.

Try out the following
1) Create a PO with an near to approximate price per ton( keep it max)of the output material
2) Issue the Input material and recieve the output material
Now the Output material will be valuated at a price = Input material price + Labour charge/piece
This amount may be wrong as your terms with the vendor is that of labour based .No isuues poceed as follows
3) Perform MIRO for per the Invoice supplied bt the vendor .Now at this stage the difference amount in step3 and step2 will be knocked off from the Inventory account or the PRD account depending on what percentage of the out put material is consumed .So upto this step you have accounted you labour charges correctly.
4) Now coming back to rent and freight ,pass a Subsequent Debit ,during which these two amounts will be loaded on to Either Inventory or PRD .So in step 4 you have accounted for Rent and Freight.
