Scenario for single WLAN to multiple VLANs

Hi there,
I read from this forum some discussion about the WLC VLAN Select feature.

I see that you can use this feature to have multiple VLANS (interfaces) to map to the same WLAN (SSID).
What I try to learn is under what scenarios would people need to have mutliple vlan mapped to single SSID?
In my environment, I have 50+ AP int he campus on 20+ Cisco 4500 switches. I have single WLAN and it is mapped to one subnet. All wireless users would be on that subnets, whereas wired users are on 20+ subnets of their own.
Can someone help me to see under what scenarior (or requirement) that I would want to have multiple vlans mapped to single SSID?

having a large number of users in single subnet is not the best in all designs, since you will have a large single broadcast domain which is a true disaster with dense networks. If you the company policy states that we need only one single ssid
for the whole employees within the company, it doesn't make sense to have them all on the same subnet.
A lot of options are available to overcome such issues :
for example, we might have AP groups feature , dynamic vlan assignment given that we have radius server in place, and vlan pooling.
It might not be feasible to have RADIUS server all the time, and AP groups might be kind of administrtive overhead as well as it might induce a lot of issues when aps fail over from controller to controller --> Vlan select is a good soultion considering the previously mentioned reasons.

Performance of update query for single column vs multiple column

Hi All,
I could not find any answer for this, does it ever matter in terms of performance updating single column versus multiple column in a single update query.
For eg. table consisting of 15 columns, what would be the difference in performance when one column is update in the single query against another update query where 15 columns are updated.
Please do keep in mind my table columns in actually could be around 150+.

If updated columns aren´t on where clause , then the only impact of 15 columns will be a increase on redo generation, and a possible chainning row.
So since the redo is one of the things that have a large impact, the answer is yes.
The performance will be slower.

Supply scenario for single contract model

Hi together,
in normal case, a differnentiation in the supply of a point of delivery is made, using the supply scenario.
There it is defined, if it is only a grid usage, supply or any other kind of business scenario.
Now my question is:
does it make sence, to implement the functionality of the supply scenario, when I have a company in a country, that still has a single-contract-model (grid-usage and supply in one contract) ?
Where the differentation is made in the rate category on installation level and via the billing master data ?
And where only big customers ( > 100.000 kwh) are allowed to swich suppliers as they want to.
I have searched for information in this case, but did not really found any that is telling, that it is worth implementing it or stating, no, better not, because using the supply scenario functionality does only make sence, when implementing a two-contract-model (even in one SAP IS-U client) ?
What do you recommend / suggest / think ?

The supply scenario is used to define the service providers at the POD and contract – it was designed to provide the ability to automatically assign service providers to the POD and contract. It was designed to enable customers to implement using the single contract model; it can be used for a multiple contract model as well.
Supply scenario uses MDT to assign service providers and update master data (e.g. rate category). It is possible to copy the standard MDT and provide rules on how the master data is updated when there is a supply scenario change.

Per Diem Calculations for Single Day and Multiple Days

Hi Gurus
I have just now confronted a weird calculation of Per Diems.
I have configured Per Diems for 1 Day say $50 per Day, irrespective of the no.of hours.
When I create a trip for a single day, the system is calculating $50 Per DIem for one day.
Whereas, when I create a trip for 3 days, the system is calculating only for Two days i.e, $50x2=$100 and not $150 as expected, meaning the lfirst and seond day gets calculated and the last day is not getting calculated
Please let me know where I am missing the little configuration in order to let the system calculate for multiple days correctly ?
This is an urgent requirement please.....Need help.

As I told you earlier that there could be serval options which needs to be checked again.
For example:
a) V_T702N_D
b) Your per diem table
I think if you have checked 24 hours in V_T702N_D , then please verify the trip duration on PR05
If it was working earlier then below might help you...
For Example:
Start date/time 23-July-2011 Time 00:00
End date/time 25-July-2011 Time 00:00
Here above number of days are three (23,24,25) but calculation for meals shall be done for two days, because for three days per diem calculation it shall be 48:01 Hours above is 48 Hours..
Please try in PR05 and check the results.
Start date/time 23-July-2011 Time 00:00
End date/time 25-July-2011 Time 00:01
So please check again and let know in case of problem..

i think i have not quoted the question properly.
see by doing 'switchport mode trunk' it will flow the traffic of all vlan right.
but if i want to give access of selected vlans then what to do,
i have tried the command 'switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,2,3'
do i have to give encapsulation on that port, but on 2950 encap cannot be configured.
now can u tell me wht is possible to do.

Encrypting Aironet 1410 bridge link using multiple VLANs

I've looked at the documentation available for Aironet 1400 series, and still would like to see a single document showing an example of
the best encryption/authentication available for bridge links using multiple VLANs.
As I understand it, 1400 series can support WPA-PSK using AES, which would work for me. I just can't picture how to integrate chapters 9 and 10 for the 'WEP and WEP Features' + 'Configuring Authentication Types' instructions.
I'm looking either for an example config, or a step-by-step that did all steps consecutively.

What doc are you refering to? If you want to encrypt the link from root bridge to non-root bridge, then WPA/TKIP-PSK is what you should use. Don't worry about the example they show on the WEP, just use the configuration from the above link for your encryption.
Configuring a VLAN
Configuring your bridge to support VLANs is a five-step process:
1. Create subinterfaces on the radio and Ethernet interfaces.
2. Enable 802.1q encapsulation on the subinterfaces and assign one subinterface as the native VLAN.
3. Assign a bridge group to each VLAN.
4. (Optional) Enable WEP on the native VLAN. <-- Use WPA-PSK
5. Assign the bridge's SSID to the native VLAN.

Here is an example of vlan 1 (native) will be your management and your wireless link. vlan 10 & 20 will pass through the link.

Single File to multiple IDoc

I am working on single XML file input to multiple IDoc scenario. Single file contains multiple set of data for Customer and Vendor for example 20 Customer and 40 vendor together in one file between <CMData>...</CMdata> tag individually. I have to map Customer and Vendor based on one of the tag value. I seen the IDoc structure does not allow multiple records and occurrence shows only one. What is the best way to establish this scenario. I know ccBPM is required and Transformation Step picks respective mapping based on XML tag value for Customer or Vendor, but I have doubt how can I send one by one IDoc by identifying correct mapping based on XML tag. Thanks and appreciate your help.

I changed the Occurrence of both IDOC TAG to "9999" through "xsd" and upload the same in XI and I created two mapping one for Customer and one for Vendor i.e.
File--->Customer with multiple IDoc tag attribute
File--->Vendor with multiple IDoc tag attribute
Now in BPM I have to apply loop and look to the tag XMLType and where it is "C" I have to call Customer mapping and where it is "V" I have to call Vendor mapping. How I can do this . Please help me on this. Thanks.

HCM Processes and Forms : Using single Form Scenario for Multiple Countries

I have a requirement to design a HCM P&F form ( Single Process, Single Form Scenario ) to support multiple countries. Form fields should be visible/invisible based on the country ( derived from the login Manager). please help me with the following questions.
1. Is it right way to enable/disable the fields in the same form scenario for multiple countries ( Approx. 20-25 countries)
2. Is there any limitation to no. of fields on the form? does the form performs well with multiple dynamic conditions?
3. If yes, what is the best way to do this? through Java Script / Back end Generic Service?

-You can use same form scenario or process for multiple countries if you are using fields based on international structure HCMT_BSP_PA_XX_R*. If you intend to use country specific fields then you may like to use different form scenario for different countries.

- As such there is no limiation for the fields.Yes, form performs well with multiple rule configurations.
3. If yes, what is the best way to do this? through Java Script / Back end Generic Service?
I interpret you would like to derive & show fields based on same backend logic, in that case you should generic service.
If you want to show fields based on manager's logon then you should also use authorization BAdi.

I dont think that you can influence this. Why would you need individual PRs? you can process PR items individually.

Actuall it all depends on the business process.
I will explain the answer to you through a practical example
like Ford, it has sales and services all across globe.
It is not advisable to manage all of its activities under only one sales organization, say Ford Inc.
So what it does is de-centralises the whole process according to the country, region so that the whole process is divided and hence can be managed more effeciently.
Hope this helps you in understanding the basics.
One sales org always provides you with very less data to update and maintain, while many sales org makes the scenario more complex.
One sales org always gives you the flexibility to bring any changes to the current scenario, while in multiple sales org to bring a change its a tiresome job.
These are some of the advantages and disadvantages of one to many sales org.

GRC AC 10- Multiple detour for single stage path

Hi Experts,
I wanted to know about a possibility or view. Do you know anyway where we can have multiple detour activated(like first detour 1 then detour 2 check) for single stage.
Actually once we click on routing rule, we get only select single detour selection option.
Please suggest idea.
(I would like to update that we do not want system to have multiple level of approver but only single role owner stage).
Final solution is creating custom detour having ability to handle multiple scenario but we are looking for no custom initiator)

Hi Nis,
unfortunately in standard solution only one detour path can be added to single stage.
When we had such a challenge, like you described, we simply used custom initiator and this is truly the best option to go.
In our case we wanted to have different path (detour) for roles with special attribute an in the same time different path in case sod issue occurs. In other words we wanted to have 2 detours condition on one stage like you want to have. The option that suites our needs in the best way was to have custom initiator rule.

Binding multiple VLANs to single SSID on WLC

I have a building with over 4000 users and would like to bind multiple VLANs for user access to a single SSID in WLC. Can this be done? I would rather not have 4000 wireless users on a single VLAN.

the question is tough. You can not use the SSID in on AP for multiple vlans. Once you assign the AP to the vlan then you will have to make all traffic in the vlan. With that being said. you could assign the AP's to specific vlans, but if you roam from one vlan to another you will have problems at L3. But you can use WDS to make that happen.

Multiple Agencies for Single Breakdown

We have a scenerio where Multiple agencies are working for a single breakdown.Here the problem is how to record the multiple agencies in PM workorder.I know main agency should create PM order and others should create Sub order.But may i know is there is any other way also to do this.Here what we are doing suppose there is any breakdown and we want the services from services section then we create breakdown notification by putting the services section workcentre (here agencies are running the notifications raised against their workcenter and providing the service ) but how to handle if there are multiple agencies have to work,Should i create more notification No. for one failure to get the services for the concerns agencies is it rigth to create more than one notification for one failure.
Please suggest me how to overcome this problem.

For the scenario of multiple agencies working for single breakdown:
Solution1: Create notification against the main agency work centre. Then the main agency will create a main order against this notification. Other sub agencies will create sub-orders with reference to this main order via T.code-IW36.Advantage of this process is all agencies can work simultaneously on their respective work orders and hierarchy of notification>main order->sub orders can be tracked easily.
Solution2: Alternatively you may also create a single order against the breakdown notification and plan operations with the work centres of main and sub-agencies who are going to work. Each agency will confirm their respective operations only.
Solution3:Main agency may create one breakdown order with or w/o reference to notification. Other breakdown orders may be created by the sub-agencies independantly. At a later stage you may assign the orders of sub-agencies as sub-orders to the main order through T.code IW40. Execute with the respective order nos as input, then select the main order and go to Environment-> Assign Order->Enter the order nos of sub agencies one by one. You can then see the superior order no. in the sub-orders.

Different functionalities for a single webdynpro component can be achieved by many ways. Among them is the use of multiple applications. Say for example if you want different views/windows to be displayed at the start up, you can achieve it by specifying at the default window, for each every webdynpro application.
And if you want control the fields, say for example you want to display input fields as editable for one application and read only for other application, you can achieve it through application parameters. Based on parameters, in HANDLEDEFAULT method of window controller , you can specify the type of behaviour , whether it has to editable or not based on parameters and same can be used at context binding of UI properties.
Application configuration can be used for personalization.Web Dynpro ABAP Application Configuration. This tutorial would help you understanding the concept much better. There can be multiple application configurations for a single application.
