SCH Transport Gateway

Hi Pro´s!
I ran into some problems installing the Transport Gateway for Cisco Smart Call Home. I downloaded the latest package for Windows and ran it on a Server 2003 SP2. The installation went on without any errors and I clicked on the Finish button and the application closed down. Now - when i press att the GUI icon och the desktop nothing happens!  I checked that the service was running, I stopped the service and turnt it on again, but nothing changed.
I´ve read the installation manual and it doesn´t mention anything special, just start the GUI and go on with the registration.
Has any of you any ideas what I should do?
Best regards
Johan

An update,
I found the answer in Troubleshooting and Support guide:
following steps:
Stop the TG service
Close the RDP Connections
Re-launch the RDP using the following command
mstsc /v /admin
Launch the Transport Gateway.
That, togheter with http://blogs.msdn.com/b/rds/archive/2007/12/17/changes-to-remote-administration-in-windows-server-2008.aspx where the complete solution.
Chers,

  • Transport Gateway doesn't appears to start web listener

Tried installing Transport Gateway 3.5 under CentOS 6.x. I can start the process and I see a couple of items in the process list for it, but I don't see anything listening on port 80 when looking at the output from netstat and, of course, dont' see anything when trying to access the web gui.
    Any ideas?

    That's what I suspected.
Hmm. Curious. It doesn't seem to want to start a listener on the http or https ports. I see it listening on localhost:31000 and 32000, but I'm pretty certain those are used for something other than the web interface for the app.
    wrapper   3286 root    7u  IPv4  49309      0t0  TCP localhost:32000->localhost:31000 (ESTABLISHED)

    java      3288 root   68u  IPv6  49308      0t0  TCP localhost:31000->localhost:32000 (ESTABLISHED)
Opened a case with TAC, but the rep is insisting that I neeed a GUI on the linux machine in order to troubleshoot, but I don't see how that would matter, so we'll see where that goes.
Not seeing much helpful in the log files. Seems pretty clean. No mention of missing components or unable to start services in either /var/log/messages or in the log files for the app.
I get a couple of processes: one wrapper process and the other is com.cisco.ca.csp.cso.conn.tg.service.TGServiceMain
I see in the jettyconfig.properties file that it has 80 and 443 conigured for http and https and the TGServiceMain process has the jars for jetty in the command line.

  • In transport gateway i cannot set the notify email adress

I use TG 3.5 linux and try to config call home mailbox but in alway say invalid notify email adress and cannot leave it blank too.
    How should i do?

The issue was found to be a coding issue and is resolved in
CSCul96202    TG - Notify email should not be domain specific
This bug was resolved on 9 Dec 2013 and should be in any Linux release of Transport Gateway code after that date.
The bug was found in the Linux version 3.5 release.

  • Where can I download Oracle Transport Gateway installation media for Window

Is it possible to download Oracle Transport Gateway for Windows 32-bit? I have tried multiple downloads in the evaluation area and I am unable to find the correct bundle for the above product.

    Hi Varad,
    Thanks for your reply.
My only concern is that I am using the 64 bit version of Vista so I am not sure this will work. I will download it and update this thread iin case anyone else is struggling with the same problem.
    Thanks again.

  • Transport Gateway HTTP versus Email

Which mode is generally preferred for the Transport Gateway: HTTP or email? Are there advantages to using one mode over the other?
I seem to remember talking with someone from Cisco about this and remember that they had some good arguments for which mode was preferred, but I just can't remember the content of that discussion

We need to separate out the whether we are talking about traffic from the end device (router, switch, UCS) to the transport gateway or traffic from the transport gateway to Cisco Smart Call Home backend or the end device directly to Cisco's Smart Call Home backend.
The transport gateway is essentially a proxy server for your end devices so that the end devices themselves do not have to talk across the internet. Any network engineer worth their salt will block traffic generated by their infrastructure devices (routers, switches) to the internet for security reasons. The only exceptions I might consider would be firewalls that sit at the boundary between the internal network and the internet. I might allow those to communicate directly with the Cisco Smart Call Home backend via HTTPS. But I probably would prefer they talk to the Transport gateway and allow only the transport gateway to talk across the internet to the Cisco Smart Call Home backend so you can track outbound communications easier.
For the traffic from end devices to the transport gateway, I recommend HTTPS. The drawback is It is more complicated to setup with the certificate. This would encrypt the traffic between the end device and the transport gateway. Or we can assume that the internal network is safe from eavesdropping. In that case, any method (http, email, https) to the transport gateway is fine. I don't like to make that kind of assumption.
When would I use email? Well, some devices like the UCS can only do email so there is no other choice. The UCS can send email to the transport gateway's email account and the transport gateway can download it. Unfortunately, the end devices only do simple SMTP on port 25 which is sent in the clear (unencrypted) from the end device to the email server.
For the traffic from the transport gateway to the Smart Call Home backend, the transport gateway always encrypts it via HTTPS to send to Cisco's Smart Call Home backend.
So you might ask, "Can the end device send *email* to Cisco's Smart Call Home backend directly?" Yes, but this is not recommended because it is sent in the clear (unencrypted) across the internet.
You also might ask, "What about anonymous Smart Call Home?" Well, in that case, the customer does not have a smartnet contract and is helping Cisco by reporting crashes on their end device (Like Windows error reporting and Apple Error Reporting). The end device will automatically setup and make an HTTPS connection directly to Cisco's Smart Call Home backend when it reports an error.
Cisco is transitioning the software to having the customers turn on anonymous Smart Call Home for easy HTTPS setup and then configuring registered Call Home. This completely removes the certificate setup by the end user.

  • Transport Gateway via RDP

    Hi all
I have installed TGW on Windows 2008 R2, and only have access via RDP. The previous install worked fine on a different win 2008 R2, and could access the gui using the /admin option in RDP.
With the recent install I cannot access the gui at all. The only difference is the account used, previously I had the administrator account, now I am using my AD account with is part of the administrator group.
Can anyone suggest a fix or a solution?
    Wayne

There are too many possibilities. Is the computer logged into the domain so that domain users can log in? If yes, then is the policy set up correctly? See
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/d53a59f4-ff06-4f9b-bfdf-8dc6708844da/remote-desktop-users-cannot-log-in-to-workstation-with-remote-desktop?forum=winserverDS
Essentially, the TGW computer needs to talk to the domain server and the person being authenticated needs to belong to a group which is in the local Remote Desktop Users group on the TGW computer.

    hi
shipping point calendar and route calendar must be equal here.
    but
i dont know why these are different here.
because it is overtaking or superseeding the shipping calendar here.
make the shipping point and route calendar in sync with each other.
    test and confirm

    Hi Nilima,
When running off RSA3, it will use a dialog process while when called from the PC it will be using a background process.  Check the 'abap/time' setting in rz11.
Moreover, if it took only two hours to process last month, it is improbable that data has increased to such a large extent in a month's time.
It is possible that new jobs have been added on the R/3 side that runs at this time.
It may be a good idea to try and run this Process Chain when the R/3 system is lightly loaded.
Discuss this with the Basis Team.
    Best Luck!
    Mathew.

  • Smart call home - HTTPS transport from the Nexus 7000 to Cisco

    hi
i try configured call home on nexus 7000 with https transport and proxy server
    i follow this guide -
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/smart_call_home/QuickStart_NX7000.pdf
    and configured this :
    callhome
      email-contact XXXXXXXXXXX
      phone-contact XXXXXXXXXXX
      streetaddress XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
      destination-profile CiscoTAC-1 transport-method http
      destination-profile CiscoTAC-1 http https://tools.cisco.com/its/service/oddce/services/DDCEService
       transport http use-vrf management
transport http proxy server XXXXXXXXXX port 8080                --------- XXXXXXXXX = my proxy server
      transport http proxy enable
      enable
      periodic-inventory notification interval  30
i have a problem to install the security certificate , i follow thw guide but i get the error :
failed to load or parse certificate
    could not perform CA authentication
when i try test call home eith the command : callhome test
trying to send test callhome message
    warning:no callhome message sent
email configuration incomplete for destination profile:full_txt
email configuration incomplete for destination profile:short_txt
Error in transporting http message for CiscoTAC-1
http: Received HTTP code 407 from proxy after CONNECT
i guess the problem is because i didnt install the certificate , how can i install the certificate ?
is this the real problem ?

I agree with Bryan that the easiest proxy server to setup for the  nexus 7000 is the Transport Gateway. The documentation (certificates) is  setup to allow you to connect to a Cisco Transport Gateway or directly  into tools.cisco.com. Both have a Cisco certificate.
But that doesn't explain your issue. To answer your issue, you need to look here
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/switches/lan/smart_call_home/SCH31_Ch6.html#wp1039385
except  you need your proxy server's chained certificate in PEM format since  the Nexus 7000 is going to terminate at your proxy server. Take a look  at this line in the documentation.
Input (cut & paste) the CA certificate (chain) in PEM format
The error code 407 you indicated makes sense and  indicates "Proxy Authentication Required". You need the certificate  installed first. NX-OS uses the openssl crypto library to implement the  cert-pki feature if that helps. A complete certificate chain is required. Also,  you might make sure the CRL (certificate revocation list) is set to none  so it doesn't do that first.
    revocation-check none
The 4 chained certificates given in the documentation are tools.cisco.com.cer, Verisign-G3-SSCA.cer, Verisign-G3-PRCA.cer,  Verisign-Root-CA.cer. The non-nexus 7000 devices just use the last one. Most likely you need a certificate that looks like
    your proxy server.cer,Verisign-G3-SSCA.cer, Verisign-G3-PRCA.cer,  Verisign-Root-CA.cer
If you are using your own root CA (which typically are taken  off-line after authorizing subordinate CAs for security reasons) , then  make sure that their certificates are in the correct order to be  processed so each can be authenticated.
Now you can see why a Cisco proxy server (Transport Gateway) is easier to setup.

  • Can I use DeliveryManager just to send email with no document?

Can I use "oracle.apps.xdo.delivery.DeliveryManager" to just send email without any document attached? or
Is this only used to deliver the documents by email?
I just want to use DeliveryManager just to send email with content in the body of the email. I am using BI Publisher API.
Can any of you provide sample input for the above?

    Hi,
You can use iMovie to record the message and save it as an email sized item and send the file as email like before.
For those iChat AV users without a Cam and the AIM users without a cam you can do One-Way Viedo chats.
Once you have a recorded Video file you can also drop the file on any Buddies name in you iChat Buddy list rather than using email.
For those using other services you can set up a Jabber account and enable the required Transport/Gateways and send the files that way.
    http://www.jabber.org.au/ichat = Australian Page
    AllForces
These are the two main information pages on how iChat can connect to the other IM services.
    Jabber Public Server list
That would appear to be everybody.

  • TG installation on Windows 7

    Hi,
I tried to install the latest version(4.1) of Transport Gateway software on a windows 7 PC for preparing a demonstration but it was unable to launch the program after finishing installation.
Are there any other requirements like Java or other things? I used a 64 bits Windows 7 PC and other hardware specifications seem to meet the requirements.
Also I'd like to know what is the different between two software images as below:
    TransportGatewayWin64_v4_1.exe
    TransportGatewayWin64_v4_1_VM.exe
    Regards,
    Ron

    hi,
While the TG software should run on the windows 7 PC , we dont encourage that  for production enviroment.  We prefer you use windows 2008 , but for demo'ing purpose windows 7 is fine .. The java required to run the TG is already included in the package ...this java is with all the required parameters and compatibility. I think in your case you may already have some other java version already installed and that may be causing problem ..but may be some other issue that you may need to troubleshoot.
The one with _VM in the name is for windows VM on the ESXi. The other one for standalone server.

  • Error in Gateway service after transport

  • Transports and gateway

What is the relation between transports and gateway? We had an issue with STMS today. The import queue wont show up and the process would hang forever. redistributing TMS also didnt work. but when we killed the gateway process(unix level) on some systems it worked.
I dont understand the relation though.
    Can someone help.
    Thanks
    Cyrus

    Hi Cyrus,
A transport domain consists of all the SAP systems that
have certain same system configuration settings.
Now there exists a reference configuration on the
transport domain controller, which is one SAP system with
all the other systems in the domain taking copies of this
reference configuration. Each time change is made in this
reference configuration, it has to be distributed to all
the other SAP systems in the domain, in the form of transports.
A SAP Gateway acts as a bridge between the SAP system and
external program/system, useful for data communication.
Hence we can conclude that for distribution of the
reference configuration from the controller to other SAP
systems, we need a SAP Gateway for communicating between
the systems. That should be the relation between gateway and transport.

    Hi friends,
i created a New checking rule (ZB) in <b>/NOMGP</b> - stock transfer sch. agmnt. for inter company stock transfer. i attached it with a checking group(Z0) and made scope of check. And assigned with doc type LU, supplying plant, delivery type NLCC & checking rule (ZB). the Z0 checking group is assigned in mat master in sales org/plant view.
After creating delivery (VL10*) , in dlv i am getting Checking rule as "B". so i am not getting the ATP checks as per Z0-ZB setting. (checking group is coming correctly from mat master).
<b>Can I get the checking rule ZB ??? in Delivery (environment -->availability )</b>
