custom scheduling of infopackages is a very common topic discussed in the forums - please search the forums before posting
Hi Experts
We have a requirement to schedule a infopackage for 10 days(fixed) in every month.
What settings should I provide in the scheduling options?

Hi,
If the days are consecutive, In the bacground
In Option Scheduled Start give the first day,
In option No start after Give the last day.
and schedule periodic monthly.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Error while scheduling in infopackage!!

Heya all,
     i need immediate help in this area.Plz help me out.I am having these problems
I created infoobjects IO_MATNO(from fufu book   example)and created 2 infopackage 1 for attr and another for text and tried loading them.Everything went well and got activated but when i tried scheduling it said data requested..i clicked monitor and then it showed me yellow light with 3 warnings saying:

There are IDocs with incorrect status.
Procedure
Check the IDocs in Business Information Warehouse . You can get here using the BW Monitor.
Removing errors:
How you remove the errors depends on the error message you receive.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening?Should i proceed further ignoring this as it is only warning sign or how shld i rectify this?

I have created an infopackage, and when i try to schedule it, i get the following error :

Thnx for your inputs, but still i am getting errors in all the records that i have loaded.
I tried to diagnose the error. I am getting the following error for all the records :
Eg : For record "Project Milestones", i am getting the error as:
Data record & with the key "Project Milestones &" is invalid in value "Project Milestones &" of the attribute/characteristic ZINTIATVE &.
ZINTIATVE is the characteristic for which i am loading the master data.
Kindly help.............I need it to be resolved urgently.

Description of hierarchy scheduled in Infopackage, needs to be changed

Hi all,
We are loading a hierarchy of the description "ACCOUNT NFL GP Hierarchy" (technical name ZFCGF_ACCOUNT_NFL_GP_HIERARCHY) through an infopackage. This infopackage is scheduled in a process chain. Now, the users have asked us to change the hierarchy decsription to "Fixed Costs Account Hierarchy" instead of
"ACCOUNT NFL GP Hierarchy" though the technical name will be the same.
When we are creating a new hierarchy selection in existing Infopackage and giving the same hierarchy name but different description, it is keeping the previous hier description unchanged. Also, we cannot recreate an infopackage as the infopackage is scheduled in process chain and the project is in go-live mode.
Any help will be appreciated.

Scheduler(Maintain Infopackage)-Only PSA

Hi,
When I try to schedule a load from a DataSource created on a ZTable, I dont see the other radio buttons(only Only PSA is enabled) enabled under the processing tab.
All TransferRules and UpdateRules were activated.
Kindly help.

I checked SM37 and could not find any jobs there.
Under SM58, I got this error,

Error when scheduling the infopackage for loading Master data attributes

Iam getting the following error message when scheduling this Master data Attributes ZIP_0PLANT_ATTR_FULL..( Flexible update of Master data info objects)..
In Data load monitor error i got this following error message.

A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage This is an Idoc error. Please check the Idocs :
1) SM37 job log (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load) (give request name) and it should give you the details about the request. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
Also see if there is any 'sysfail' for any datapacket in SM37.
2) SM66 get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. (In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load). See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
3) RSMO see what is available in details tab. It may be in update rules.
4) ST22 check if any short dump has occured.(In source system if load is from R/3 or in BW if its a datamart load)
5) Check in SM58 and BD87 for pending tRFCs and IDOCS.
Once you identify you can rectify the error.
If all the records are in PSA you can pull it from the PSA to target. Else you may have to pull it again from source infoprovider.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish. You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records has increased in the data tables.
SM21 - System log can also be helpful.

Authorization Check for Update Rules Modify during Scheduling of InfoPackag

Hello Everyone....
We have recently upgraded our Testing Environment to NW2004s SP10, and the system is currently Non-Changeable and all the other changes have been brought in via transports.
After SGEN has completed, when I try to open up an existing InfoPackage and click on the "Start" button it gives me the "You have only authorization to display the "InfoProvider" name".
If it is the load into DSO it complains about Activity 23 not available for the Subobject UPDATERULE of the object S_RS_ODS and if it is an InfoCube it complains about Activity 23 again for the Subobject UPDATERULE of the object S_RS_ICUBE.
Which doesn't really make sense as the Activity 23 would allow the change to the Update Rules for the InfoProviders.
Please advice if there is any other Role or Profile which needs to be maintained or a system setting to avoid this Auth Check.
Also, the same when repeated in the Development environment shows the message "Generating the Update Program" in the status bar below and once that has completed, the extract works fine.
Please advice......
Any help would be really appreciated as we are kind of stuck on this issue.

Hi,
You should use transaction ST01 then you can see the objects asked for with the value needed. Also transaction SU53 gives you information about the object you want to use. The new transaction RSECADMIN with the tab analyses gives you information that is not in SU53 and releated to the data selection. If it is an analyses authorization problem add authorization object 0BI_ALL to a role in the autorisation object S_RS_AUTH. I think you can get the information you need this way.

Scheduling InfoPackage fails to start extract in R/3

Hi,
We are extracting data from CO-PA using the delta infosource.
We initialised the Delta successfully (without data transfer) and have now scheduled our infopackage to extract data from R/3.
When we go to monitor, it tells us that the "Request is still running". Within Details:
Requests: Everything OK
Extraction: Missing messages
Transfer: Missing messages or data
Processing: no data
When I go to the R/3, SM37, I see that infact no extraction job has been scheduled. Consequently, the InfoPackage sits in a "Still running" status till it times out.
If I go to iDoc list in R/3 (Transaction WE05), I see within the inbox that there is a iDoc from my BW system of type "RSRQST" (BIW: Data Request message to OLTP) with a status of 64 ("iDoc ready to be transferred to application").
It seems that something is preventing this iDoc from initiating the extract.
Can anyone suggest a cause of this problem?

how about the other infopackage extraction ?
try to check following from monitoring of the request, menu Environment
- Transaction RFC >> in the datawarehouse
Transaction RFC >> in the source system
- ALE management >> in the datawarehouse
ALE management >> in the source system
- Check connection
- RFC log on

Selection Screen for Infopackage schedule

Hi Guys,
I want to create a selection screen which appears when a user schedules an infopackage so that the user can enter the posting period, year from and to values and the load takes place for those values.
I want to do this so that the infopackage can be scheduled for what ever period the user enters.
Can somebody please tell me how to write the program/or define BADI with this req?

To me the easiest is the following :
- Create some variables stored in TVARVC.
- In your infopackage, add routines to read the TVARVC variables values
- Create an abap with some select options.
- Creat a process chain that starts the infopackage using an event and scheduled periodically
This abap's algorithm is quite simple :
update from the select options the TVARV values
raise event that starts the chain (this avoid authorisations problems vers the functionto start a chain)

In the INFOPACKAGE ,scheduler (maintain infopackage Screen ) --->in the SCHEDULE TAB -
> i changed the option "START LOAD IMMIDIATELY" TO "START LOAD LATER IN BACKGROUND" by mistake .I am not able to revert back the option.
can any body tell me how to change the option back to START LOAD IMMIDIATELY.please

Copy the infopackage ID which starts with ZPAK_*. Then go to SE16, give the table name as RSSDBATCH -> give this infopackage id as the selection for log.object. Delete the corresponding entry from this table and the option START LOAD IMMEDIATELY will appear in the infopackage.

I wanna load data to ODS "Assignment of Role to Project Element" When I schedule 5 infopackage immediately, they're all yellow. and the details have been shown in the right Panel.

Hi,
did you checked in New Table of the ODS? are you able to see yellow request in ODS with this no.of records. did you checked the job in source system. in monitor -> goto environment -> job details -> job in source system -> check if it is finished -> you can change the technical status of this request to Green and do activation. sub.sequent process here you have to activate the request once the load finish, so there is no issues.

Exception from InfoPackage.Schedule BAPI

Hi all,
I'm working on a BW integration project, using the Staging BAPIs for the BIW from the .NET Connector. I have been able to create the InfoObjects, InfoCubes, etc... however I am running into a problem I just can't get around. I am trying to schedule an InfoPackage to upload data in a csv file on my workstation. However, when I call the Schedule BAPI (BAPI_IPAK_START), I get an exception that doesn't make much sense to me: "An upload from the client workstation in the background is not possible". I'm not using a background thread, so I'm a little confused where this comes from. If I schedule the package from the BW Administrator, it schedules and uploads with no problems. Does anyone have any idea where I may be going wrong here?

Function Module not extracting records when InfoPackaged is executed

I'm using a Function module for extracting data. The DataSource is working fine in RSA3 with a selection criteria. But when i schedule the infopackage with the same selections in the data selection tab, Its not getting me any records into BW. In the Details Tab i get the message "Error occurred in the data selection" . I guess there is a problem with the data selection. Pasted below is the code i'm using for extraction. Can anyone please let me know if there is any issue with the code.
Also how do we pass on the value of I_MAXSIZE into the function module, the remaining parameters get the values from BW. And can anyone please explain me the concept of the "s_counter_datapakid" and when it should be incremented and where it should be located in the code?

The load is running successfully but its not fetching any records into BW.
In the Status tab, Step by Step Analysis the following three steps are red:
Does selectable data exist in the source system? (Red)
Data selection successfully started ? (Red)
Data selection successfully finished ? (Red)
and the below is the Analysis

 The data request was a full update.
 o In this case, the corresponding table in the source system does not
 contain any data.
 o System Response
 Info IDoc received with status 8.
 Procedure
Check the data basis in the source system.
But i have data in R/3 and i'm able to extract it using RSA3
