Schedule Destination to File System

I am creating my first scheduled report in Central Management Console and have a question about the security credentials:
I have copied an existing reoccurring job from the History section
I am on the DESTINATION tab and choose FILE SYSTEM
Set to save to C:\temp folder
When I test-run the job I get the following error:
Destination disabled. [CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged]: []. Please note the
name of the job server used for your request and contact your system
administrator to make sure the specified destination is enabled. (FWB 00031)
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the follow up.
I found the setting, deep in the bowels of CAC.
This thread gave me the path for the setting:

  • Setting Date value in File Name while scheduling report to File System

I am trying to set the file name as %SI_Name% Current Date.extension in Destination section while scheduling a crystal report to File system.
So in Use Specific Name section i have added %SI_NAME% %SI_STARTTIME%.%EXT%.
Schedule works fine for me and I get the document in the file location with name  'Title 2009-06-26-12-53-17.pdf".
But I dont want time to be printed in the title, so the title should be "Title 2009-06-26.pdf". How i can achieve this.

Is there any way to achieve this?

  • Crystal Report failed scheduling onto the File System

    Hi,
We have set up a Crystal report file for scheduling via file system. This report has been running fine with regards to generation all through last few months, but has started failing to generate the report at the scheduled time onto the file system from the last few days. When I checked the logs of the Instance Manager, it shows an error like this 'Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1017 ]'.
Please note, I was able to run the report from InfoView without any issue, so I don't believe there is any issue with stored procedure/report/database connection but something else.
Can someone please provide some insights on this.
    Thanks.

    Hello Satish,
Is this issue specific to FileSystem location? What about default enterprise location?
When you view the reprt in InfoView, click on Refresh button to get current data. If the repot was published with Saved Data option, then you would see data in the report but it would be old one.
Above step would confirm that there is no issues with database user credentials specified with the report.
Also, open the report in Crystal Reports 2011, refresh it and publish without saved data in BI 4 repository and schedule it.

    Mahesh

  • Error with "File System" destination only in a Publication

    Hello,
I am able to have individual reports run & refresh to a File System destination, but when I attempt to have the same reports, as part of a Publication, save to a File System destination, I receive this error in the log:
    ERROR PublishingService:HandlerPool-32 BusinessObjects_PublicationAdminLog_Instance_15516 - Publication ID # 15516 - Distribution to destination CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged ... destination DLL disabled. [http://CrystalEnterprise.DiskUnmanaged ([1]/1])]: [ (FBE60013)
If I use Email instead of File System in this Publication, the Publication runs fine, no issues.
    Thanks for any help.

    Let's start with proper terminology
You're not sending report to unmanaged disk, you're scheduling it there.
When you use publication - you're publising it there.
2 different worflows, that use 2 different servers. Each server has to be configured for this functionality.
It is done in CMC in servers properties.
Admin guide will give you information on what each server in BO architecture is responcible for and what are the parameters that needs to be set for various workflows.

  • Local file system for archive destination in RAC with ASM

    hi Gurus .
    I need an info.
I have ASM file system in 2 node RAC.
The client does not want to use flash recovery area.
Can we use the archive destination as local file system rather than ASM.
like /xyzlog1 for archvies coming from node 1 and /xyzlog2 for archive logs coming from node 2.
Imortant thing is these two destinations are anot shared with each nodes.
    OS is solaris sparc 10.
    version is 10.2.0.2

There is huge space in the storage.
Pls tell me in general ho wdo you do this.
Do we take and one disk from the storage and format it with local file system and share it among the 2 nodes?
If so then that mount point will have same mount point name if we see it from other node... ..ryt
In this scenario if one instance is down then from the same shared mount point which is on the same node(down) can apply archves? Here, Earlier you are using any ASM shared location for ARCHIVES ?
if so you can add a CANDIDATE disk to your existing ARHCIVE disk group(shared).
if not from LUN's after format, I.e. candidates based on that you can create a new DISK group(shared) according to your space requirements. THen you can assign to log_archive_dest_1 for both the nodes to single shared location(disk group)

  • SSIS File System Task does not allow entering the destination variable

In SSIS for SQL Server 2012 (2014) I am not able to change the destination to a variable in the File System Task.
I have 2 variables for the source and destination path.  I pull in a File System Task, change the source to a variable, but when I select the destination I cannot enter the destination variable.  When I change destination to a variable
the dialog disappears when I try to select the variable.

    Hi Steve,
I have tried myself, it is working fine. Its look like something wrong with your visual studio. try to reinstall it or reset the visual studio.(http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247075(v=vs.100).aspx).
If you really want to set destination values, you can set them from properties window of the task.(Right click the task and select properties or select the task and press f4).
    There are properties like:
    IsDestinationPathVariable (True/False)
    Destination (VariableName eg: user::target)

  • Scheduling to File System BO4.0 without user/pass

    Hello all,
I have a great deal of reports that I need to schedule to a network drive, which is mapped on the server running BO. However, I don't want to enter in a user and password on each instance. Obviously if the password changed for the account I would be screwed. I was assuming that BO would attempt to use the local account, but I'm still being forced to enter in values. Is there a setting somewhere in the CMC that I need to change?, or is there a place for me to enter in a user/pass once that can be changed without having to change every instance? I am using Enterprise authentication for the CMC if that matters at all. I attempted to enter in the user/pass in the Job Server destination, but there are multiple directories I will be sending to.
    Thanks!

    Hi Mike,
I would advise that you simply configure the Job Server Disk destination plugin with the drive details.
This way when scheduling you can simply ensure that the:
"Use Job Server Defaults" option is checked.
    This is done like this:
To set your destination to file location
    1. In the "Folders" management area of the CMC, select an object.
    2. Click Actions > Schedule and access the "Destination" page.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Crystal report or object package, click Destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence document, click Formats and destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Web Intelligence document, click Formats and Destinations.
    3. Select File location as the destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Crystal report or object package, select File Location from the Destination list.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence or Web Intelligence document, select File Location under "Output Format Details" and then click Destination Options and Settings.
    4. If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence or Web Intelligence document, select or deselect Use the Job Server's defaults.
    Note:
You can change the default Job Server settings in the "Servers" management area of the CMC. For more information, see the
BusinessObjects Enterprise Deployment and Configuration Guide.
I hope this is a very helpful answer to you.
If you have any questions please let me know.
    Kind regards,
    John

  • Moving copy of project laptop to iMac.  When I try to export my laptop project to either a thumbdrive or a SD card, the export fails and says 'file system of destination volume not supported'.  How to fix?

When trying to move a project from Macbook Pro laptop to iMac, the program says, 'file system of the destination volume is not supported.'
This is true for both a thumb drive and a SD card.  What is the fix? Thanks

Format them OS X Extended. Aperture libraries have to be on OS X Extended formatted volumes.
Use Disk Utility. Remember when you format a drive you erase all the data that is on it. So it there is anything you want on those copy it off first.

  • Distribute to Multiple Locations on File System

    Hi,
Is there any way to schedule a publication to multiple file system directories at the same time?  When I use the "File System" destination option, it only allows for one directory. I'd like to be able to publish to multiple directories without having to create multiple publications or editing one's destination over and over again.
    Thanks,
    Cameron

not inside BOE, you'll have to do this outside  - maybe using a cron/batch job that will copy files from one location to others
    p.s.
And Why? do you need to do this is also interesting

  • [Forum FAQ] Schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup in Windows 8.1

As we known that there is no UI for user to configure Image backup in Windows 8.1, this is a guide for your to schedule multiple versions of System Image Backup.
Step 1: Create a task to schedule an image backup with following command:
    SCHTASKS /Create /SC WEEKLY /D MON /TN WeeklyFullBackup /RL HIGHEST /ST 13:00 /TR “wbAdmin Start Backup -backupTarget:F: -include:C: -allCritical -quiet”
Step 2: Schedule a robocopy to backup the saved image with BAT file:
Please create a new folder (in this example, the new folder is e:\test2) to save your multiple copies of image backup:
Write following batch file to copy backup and rename with backup date:
    *****************BAT********************
    @echo off
    robocopy e:\test1\ e:\test2\ test.wim
    ren e:\test2\test.wim  test_%date:~10,4%%date:~7,2%%date:~4,2%_%time:~0,2%%time:~3,2%.wim
NOTE: e:\test2 is my location to save multiple copies of image backup; e:\test1 is the location I create the system image backup.
This BAT can also help to rename the copy of image backup with date and time like below:
      3.  Set up a basic task in Task schedule:
Note: please make sure the time you configured follows the time you set for image backup in Step 1.
Action -> Create basic task (Name you task) -> Trigger (Set how often this task should be run) -> Action (Start a program) -> Under Program/script, point to your bat file you create in Step 2.b -> Finish
At the end, you can know more about SCHTASKS and Robocopy via following links:

  • Crystal Report Scheduling Destination Options in Infoview

    Hello,
I need some information on the CR scheduling Destination Options available:
The 9 options as per my understanding are:
    1. Default Enterprise Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the default Business Objects Enterprise location, which is the Output File Repository Server (FRS).
    2. Default Inbox: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the inboxes configured on the job server.
    3. Default File Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the unmanaged disk location configured for the job server.
    4. Default FTP Server: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the FTP server configured on the job server.
    5. Default Email Recipients: If you select this option the instance is emailed to the email recipients configured on the job server.
    6. Specific Inbox: If you select this option you can specify whose inboxes you want to save the instance to.
    7. Specific File Location: If you select this option, the instance is saved to the saved to the file location you specify here.
    8. Specific FTP Server: If you select this option, you can specify which FTP server you want to save the instance to.
    9. Specific Email Recipients: If you select this option, you can specify who you want to email the instance to.
Among the above 9, I have problems with Specific File Location and Specific FTP Server. Can someone please let me know how I can configure my reports to use these two destination.

    Hi
If the folder is on the local machine following setting should be configured in destination for Unmanaged Disk
    Username:Localmachine hostname\username
    password:password of the username.
Here the username would have "Full Control" or "Modify" rights over the drive where desired folder resides and that folder.
If the folder is on the remote machine following settings should be configured in the destination tab.
    Username:DomainName\DomainUsername
    Password:password of DomainUsername.
DomainUsername should also have "Modify" rights over the drive and the folder.
Is the desired folder present on the SAN drive?

  • File system task error ; Access to the path " " is denied

    HI All,
I have created a simple package to copy xml files  from multiple source folders  to destination folder.
Folder names and paths are stored in a sql table.  I use execute sql taks to get folder and path names. set the restult set to full result set in the execute sql task.
Then for each loop is used to loop through each file name. File system taks is inside the for each loop. Destination vairable and source varable were created and assigned them inthe file system task.
But I am getting an error message.
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\\cor\Groups\DN\Share2\Servicing \RESPONSE_FILES\Services' is denied.".
But I am able to do this if i design the package to move just one file. i.e without using variables. I get the error message only when I use variables.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?
    Thanks
    shamen

How to give the access please.
    Ramu Gade
    Login using a sysadmin account
Go to the folder right click security and you've the option to add new account. You should give account write access if you want to copy files to folder.

  • Read only file system

One of my Parabola installations has started to always mount the / partition read-only. I've booted into a different install on the same machine, and can mount the affected partition without problems. I've done a fsck, and run the SMART disk checks. No problems. I've touched /forcefsck so a file system check is done every time I boot, but still the partition is read-only when it finishes booting.

(I disconnected the second hard drive in the machine to verify that it wasn't causing problems. Hence the sda / sdb discrepancy)
I've been able to mount the partitions and chroot into them, but I don't know what to do from here. Oddly, I've discovered that 'ls' doesn't output anything, although bash completion seems to work ok.
Any ideas on what I should do to get my system running again?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Getting XML data of SSIS Package (which is located in File System) from a query

    Hi,
We have around 200 SSIS packages deployed to File System. These pacakges are being scheduled using SQL Agent job.
So, currently I have a list of all the packages and their respective File Path.
Note : **They are NOT deployed to Server**.
Now, my task is to search all the packages which has a specific connection in it.
From the below blog, I got to know we can achieve this by querying the XML data of the SSIS Package.
    https://www.simple-talk.com/sql/ssis/-exploring-ssis-architecture-and-execution-history-through-scripting/.
But in the above article they are getting the XML definition of the Package from msdb(as it was deployed to server).
In my requirement, SSIS Packages are in File System. Is there any way to to get the XML definition of these packages using a query.
Please let me know if the above requirement is not clear or if any further information is required.
    Thanks
    Raksha

    Hi Visakh & Praveen,
    Thanks for the response.
@Visakh: The query provided by you gives the information about all the connection strings in the package.
@Praveen: The query in the link provided by you lists the values of all the properties of the package like MaxerrorCount, CreatorName, CreatorDate and other properties.
I think, we may have to slightly modify this query to get the connection string values
Praveen, nice to hear from you after a long time and that too in this forum !! :) Hope you are doing good.
    Thanks
    Raksha
