Schedule Portal Users Access Restriction

Hi All,
I have a scenario where in I need to restrict the access of some specific user(s)/Groups to the portal during a specific time period daily. This has to be automated and scheduled accordingly. I dont want to either delete the users or specifiy user expiry date. Please suggest if any one of you have a solution or suggestion regarding this.

What are you using for your LDAP?
I do not see a way to do it via portals but with me in MSADS I can restrict days and time from there.

User Access Restriction to BPEL & ESB PM

Hi,
When we install SOA Suite, the default admin user that gets configured for BPEL PM and ESB Control is “oc4jadmin”. This user can perform any action on the server right. But can we create new set of users who will have “view-only” access (or any other type of restricted access for that matter) upon their login? If so, kindly advise how to achieve this. This will be useful when people want to only view processes on a BPEL Console or an ESB Control in a production environment.

Am sorry to say that 10g BPEL and ESB do not support such functionality.
You could look at http://chintanblog.blogspot.com/2007/12/i-saw-numerous-people-asking-about-bpel_290.html for a mechanism to control it.

ACS 3.2.2 : user access restriction on define AAA client

Is it possible to restrict some users, who use remote connection, to be only authenticated on selected device ?
For exemple, I want authenticate users defined for WireLess Lan only on ours AP and i don't want that this users can be authenticated on our CVPN.

Yes, this is possible with NAR (Network Access Retriction). I am assuming you are using ACS Windows, if so, here is a good white paper on this. For configuration help, please refer to user guide. But, this link will get you started.

User Access restriction for certain infotype

Hi,
We have a requirement from our management that for some specific user we need to give all infotype view access I mean PA20 but excluding payroll data for 14 grade and above.
For this requirement I cannot give grade wise authorization because as per the requirement they can view all the hr related infotype except grade 14 and above our user should not view any payroll related infotype but less than 14 they can view the same.
For this I need to create one object and give it to them but I donu2019t how to find it out?
Can any one guide me?

Hi,
You can create dynamic action for IT 0008 that will copy grade value to field org.key in IT 0001.
This field can be used in authorization object P_ORGIN.
Then you can specify 2 P_ORGIN objects in the user role:
1. IT - all
Org.key 1-13
2. IT - non-payroll
Ogr.key 14 and above.

WHAT IS THE MECHANISM FOR AUDITING PORTAL USER ACTIVITY

Is there any default mechanism for auditing a portal users access to
tables. At the DB level, we are seeing the portal_public user but we want to see the portal user instead; e.g. we need to report on activity such as: portal user johndoe deleted a row of data from a table.
johndoe is only a portal user not a database user.
We are trying to keep from writing additional custom code to auditing. We are
using wwctx_api.get_user_id in other parts of the application and we would like
to avoid writing a custom auditing module.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but...
When you create (or edit) a component in Portal 10g, there is a Log Activity check box. If you check this box, then go to Manage the component (in the Portal Navigator), there are Develop, Manage and Access tabs. The Manage tab has a Monitor icon, which has the information you may be looking for. This does not seem to be available directly for database tables. However, I created a Calendar, based on a database table I created to keep track of the Calendar Events. I also created a form to allow users to add Calendar Event entries. I turned logging on for both components. The Monitoring allows me to see when each user has accessed the Calendar, and who and when they insert, update or delete entries from the Calendar table.

Accessing Portal User profile info from report

Once the user logs into portal, I would like to access some of the user profile information (personal or organizational details). I need to find the stored value of the employee number, e_mail and department. This is needed to restrict the information that will be returned to the user in portal reports.
ie. Access the portal users department and only show them information fo that specific department. If I can access I can store the value in a session variable or cookie.

Just have a look at <portal_schema>.wwsec_person$
There is also an API <portal_schema>.wwctx_api.get_user to get the user currently logged in.

How to set up reverse proxy to allow user access portal site from internet

I have installed 10g(10.1.2.0.2) AS on same machine(single IP for both mid and infra with different users respectively). there is a DMZ on which windows IIS is working through which we need to redirect the request to application server such that users access portal page from internet (within intranet all URLs are working fine). ICE_SERVICE portal user doesn't allow an anonymous access to KM content

When we upload files (e.g. image files) into root/documents/MyFolder repository they get a /irj/go/km/docs/MyFolder/* link. After that they can be seen by an anonymous users.
But every day at 9AM ICE_SERVICE portal user modifies all files in /documents/MyFolder folder and transform /irj/go/km/docs/MyFolder/* file link into /irj/servlet/prt/prtroot/ (we can see that in file Details window). After that an anonymous user lose permission to access the files of the repository.
How to prevent such behavior or to workaround this?

It might be happening due to configured ICE Online Exchange so, check following....

> Syndicators----
> Offers there you'll see list of offers just delete them if not needed , this might solve the issue...

e.g.

Restricting Portal users Sessions.

Dear All,
I have a requirement where i have to restrict the portal sessions of users to 3. How can we achieve this. Again can we keep sessions restriction by user. i.e. some group of users have max. 3, some have max. 4 etc.?
What would happen if user try to open a new session for the fourth time?

Hi Vinayak,
Let me clear something about restricting Portal user sessions. I do not think that the number of open sessions is limited by user (maybe I'm wrong but so far, all posts I know of are not refering to Portal session management per user).
You can limit the number of over all sessions in the configuration of WebAS. So, if you for example want to limit the number of sessions in your portal, you could do it for the Web Module "irj". You can set a maximum session limit for each web module.

Goto Visual Administrator->services->Security Provider->properties. There is a property called sessions_size.
The default value is 200 and you can change the value you desire.
Thus, to limited Portal session per user..not possible. Limited concurrent sessions number..Possible as describle above and other posts above.
P.S: The parameters in the module irj: Maximum Sessions= -1 (-1 means "not set" or "unlimited"). You should restart your servlet engine after changing the parameter to be sure that the configurational change is active.

ACS User Group Network Access Restrictions

We have a problem trying to restrict the access for users to an acces point: All users in any group can access the access point, although the group has a network restriction whichs restricts this access.
We have other restrictions which work perfectly. So we are beginning to think that this must be a problem in the access point (Cisco Aironet 1100)...

Regarding what you say, the network access restrictions we have created are the generic ones. I don´t have the option to choose between a dialup or telnet restriction. Where is it? Can you give more detailed information, please?

User access Instant Portal

Hello,
I've just created a new Instant Portal, and I am following the instructions on creating a user that only has access to it. I create a user using the instant portal user tool, then I go to Administer and set that page as the users default page. When I try to log in with the newly created user, it sends me straight back to the portal builder page, not instant portal. I have tried this a few different times by making different users, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Everytime a new user is created they are sent to the portal builder page upon login. Please help!

That is the process that I am going through, that's why its so confusing for me. I set the default page in the user profile and it doesn't seem to make any difference. No matter what they are sent to the Portal homepage. I have tried creating new pages and pointing users to it but the same thing happens.
