Schedule Soft Reset/Reboot WRT350N v2

Hi all,
Every afternnon when I get home from work I need to reboot my router as it starts running really slow. The net connection, lan, access to the web page config etc all run extreamly slow. After a power cycle it all runs up normal again.
I was after a method the schedule a reboot of my router each day or even a soft reboot command or web address that can be used so I dont have to actually power off and on the router. If anyone could help it would be great. I am using the linksys firmware 2.00.17
Cheers

Reset the router for few seconds ... unplug & replug the power cable ... check the light status now ..if solid power ... again access setup page of router & upgrade the firmware ...

  • I have rebooted my computer over 20X and performed the soft reset and the option command p.r. my iMac still gives me the gray screen with the file and question mark.

I have been having issues with starting up my computer for the last 5 weeks it started with a loud clicking sound when starting up and it use to only take turning the computer off and on a few times to get it running. This week it has taken almost a day of me turning off the computer and turning it back on. Last night I did the soft reset and it did come on. I did not shut down the computer and when I returned to it this evening I had to force it to shut down because it was stuck.I have did the soft reset and sad to say it did not work.I decided to try the option command and pr to reset it it did not work do any one have any other suggestions?

You can get a decent new hard drive for $100, plus labor to install it if you're not comfortable doing it on your own. In contrast, a new computer will cost quite a bit more than that. Of course, if that iMac is very old at this point - like, say 6 or 7 years old - the new drive may be worth more than the computer, and you could use this as an excuse to buy a new one!

  • Soft-reset PXI-System

    Good morning,
I try to execute a "soft-reset" on a PXI-System, but I can't found any nodes to do this.
With "soft-reset" I mean a function like the ABORT and the RUN button in a VI. More precise, if you connect to the real-time target via "debug application" you get the normal frontpanel of the VI which is actual executed. With abort/run buttons now you can "restart" this VI, so you don't need a hard reboot of the whole PXI-System which take a long time to get a "clean" system state.
    Is this posible?!
    Thanks a lot
    Heiko

I'm wrestling with a similar problem, but I think I know how to fix it (just haven't had the time ...).
Background -- I "inherited" a LabVIEW RT program written using LabVIEW 7 (well before LabVIEW Project).  The PXI code was packaged into an LabVIEW Library (.llb) file and copied by FTP to a known location on the PXI's disk.  We used VI Server to locate the top-level VI on the PXI side and simply start it running.  At the end of the routine, we stopped the code on the PXI.  In this mode, the code was always present on the PXI, "ready to run", and we rarely had to reboot the PXI.  As a side benefit, we could have multiple PXI routines sitting on the PXI, each matched to a particular routine on the Host, with each Host routine starting (and stopping) its appropriate RT "partner".
I'm currently working on the much-revised, much-improved version of this program running on LabVIEW 2012 under LabVIEW Project.  My RT code is built as a Start-up Executable (.rtexe) and deployed to the RT Target as a Startup as part of the Build.  At the conclusion of the Host program, the RT program also exits, which (as you note) causes the PXI to reboot, meaning we cannot restart for a minute or so.  We also can't (easily) have multiple "pairs" of Host/RT routines that link themselves together at run-time (at least, not with a lot of extra work!).
I've been thinking about how to implement an "auto-restart" method for the RT code.  I don't think it would be too difficult, but have not yet tried to implement it.  My RT program consists of multiple parallel loops, with some initialization code at the beginning of the program (before the loops run) and some finalization code at the end.  The main idea is to get the program simplified to a single loop (in my case, a Queued State Machine/Message Handler) that internally starts and stops the other parallel loops (probably through a Start Asynchronous Call and a local Shared Variable "Stop Loops").  My current Exit State sets "Stop Loops" to True, breaks the connections with the Host, and exits the QSM, leading to the termination of the RT code.
One idea I'm planning to try is to add an additional State, "Restart", that is called by Exit instead of exiting the QSM.  This state would wait a few seconds (to let the other loops finish) and then perform (again) the initialization code that preceded the entrance to the QSM.  Note that this inevitably sets the initial QSM State, so on finishing the Restart State, the QSM's Initialization State should be next, "... and away we go!"
If you try this and it works, please post a followup here.  I'm anxious to try this, myself, but I've got other bugs to fix in this code before I can worry about "improving it" ...

  • Unable to install any apps..did reset, reboot, restore but nothing works

unable to install any apps..did reset, reboot, restore but nothing works

so you want to restore as new not from a back up and then try to download a application. the purpose for this is the fact that if you restore from a back you then your just putting the save soft ware back on your phone. and if soft ware is the issue then this step just got voided out. if that doesnt work or you did do that then it can be something hardware related and it can be replace through apple for free if your under the hardware warranty

  • 1020 shuts down at night - requires soft reset

I am on my second 1020 .  First one had a faulty audio jack.
This one shuts down at night inexplicably.  I wake up to check email in the morning and the screen is black.  No buttons do anything.  My only hope is to soft reset.  I charge overnight using the charger that shipped with it.  Twice it has happened while charging.  Once it happened while not charging.  I've had one other likely unrelated crash - while on a call I hit the camera button by accident and the screen turned a rainbow of colored pixels.  Had to soft reset.
I emailed Nokia support - nothing.  I'm assuming I should take this 1020 back as well but I can't keep dealing with faulty phones.  I tried removing a bunch of apps from my start screen and didn't seem to make a difference.  All I have is basic stuff - phone, email accounts, facebook, store, xbox music.
any suggestions or best to assume some faulty hardware, perhaps memory?  It has had a shut down 4 of the 5 nights I've owned it.

No not exactly - that particular phone did better by ensuring I killed all app background tasks (check settings periodically as apps turn them back up after updates and running for 1st time), and using the back button to back out of apps instead of hitting the home button.
However - that phone got stuck in a funky state where it thought the phone had a headset plugged in even when it didn't.  So it was returned, and I'm not on my third 1020.  The reboots on this one are worse then the prior 2 in frequency - happens once or twice a day at least.  The only benfit of this one is that it doesn't lock up like the other one did.  It will reboot and come back gracefully. Background tasks and backing out of apps hasn't helped this behavior.
What is baffling is how all three of my phones despite being set up the same have had very different  behaviors in terms of random restarts.

  • My iphone 4 will not turn on. I can not soft reset because my home button is broken. Any suggestions?

My iphone 4 suddenly died on me. It had a good amount of battery life left. I cannot soft reset because my home button does not work. Is there a way to reboot without the method of holding the two buttons? I am thinking that letting the battery die will work but I assume it will take a long time since the phone is off. Any other way to get it to turn back on/rest?

Plug it into the wall charger or to your computer with iTunes.

        Oh no Mr.Ected!
I can see if we can get your phone back on! I understand how important it is to have a phone. Have you tried this to see if we can get it back on? http://vz.to/1DZhteH . If it is still goes to a red Verizon screen and then to black we might need to do a master reset. While the phone is off try this:http://vz.to/1DZhXkU Be mindful this is the last resort because it will erase everything on the phone. If you have done back up assistant in the past you will be able to get you contacts back. Please let me know if you need any more help.

If the basics (restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new) don't work, you'll need to bring the phone to Apple for evaluation

    Frozen or unresponsive iPod touch
    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
    Restart..  Reset..  Restore...
Try this First... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the iPod Off... ( if it isn’t already )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer...)
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...

  • The button on the side that turns my phone to silent does not work and niether does the up volume button.  I have tried restarting my phone, I did a soft reset, I checked all my settings, but nothing has worked.  Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Hello,
I have an iPhone 4 and recently started to have some problems.  First, the button on the side of my phone, that puts the phone on silent is not working. I can move the switch, but my phone stays in silent. However, If I plug my headphones in, Then I can hear everything like I am supposed too.   Also, my up volume button does not work.  This is with the headphones also.
I have tried doing a soft reset, I reset all of my settings, I updated my software, I restored everything back to factory settings, and nothing has fixed it.  I bought it from best buy and can send it in for service, but the last time I sent a phone in, it took them 3 months!  and I really don't want to go without my phone that long.
    Does anybody have any suggestions?
    Thanks so much!!

Sounds like it either believes that there are headphones plugged in, or the switch is broken.
Why in the world would you take it to Best Buy for service? Take it to an Apple Store. They can replace it on the spot if it's defective.

  • Is there a way to do a soft reset when the power button does not work?

After needing to enact my replacement repair warranty, I received a device (smae one and same serial) but the screen had unresponsive spoots, and dim spots, I decided to turn right around and send it back again.  I got a replaced screen again, but this time my power button doesn't work.  Now, this isn't too inconvenient for me except that I cant do a soft reset or power off/on in order to clear the cobwebs from time to time.  Does anyone know of an app, or another way to do this?  I'm simply afraaid of what iddues it may come back with if I send it in a 4th time.
    So, App?
Or, maybe a special keybaord combo I can put in like on phones? (IE  ##XXXXX#

To remove the Restrictions passcode, you need to restore the phone as a new device using iTunes. Hit the "Restore" button on the Summary Pane.

  • IPad 2 keeps freezing, soft reset has no effect

    Hi there,
My iPad 2 has frozen 3 times in the past week and will only respond once I restore it.  This has just started happening and it's almost every day now.
I've tried all the suggestions, all aspects of the screen freezes including the red slider, soft reset has no effect, resets and then is still frozen.
I last backed it up 2 weeks ago.
Any suggestions outside the box?  iCloud? Apps?
    Thanks!

Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the home button together until the apple logo appears (ignore the ON/OFF slider) then let both buttons go and wait for device to restart (no data will be lost).
