Schedule the printing of workbooks

Hi,
I wanted to know if it is possible to schedule the printing process of a workbook. I searched in the forum and I saw that for BW 3.5 custom code is needed. We use BI 7.0 and SAP GUI 7.1.
I'd like to reach the following situation:
- Schedulation of n workbooks for the printing process during every night
- Each morning, the set of workbooks selected is available on paper
Any ideas?
Thanks for the support!
Gianluca

Hi,
Yes u can print workbooks in background using Information Broadcasting in BI 7.0.
From the Bex analyzer/ WAD/ Portal from the tools menu select Bex Broadcaster .
There u can set the Report to be sent to printer.
Use the wizard to create IB and schedule it.
Searc SDN for IB.'

  • Can we cancel the print out of a scheduled report?

Suppose a report is scheduled and configured to printer.
We want send a cancel command to the printer.
    how can this be done?

    Hi Sriram,
Once you send any request to printer it will take it into printer buffer.  You can't pass any command to cancell the printer buffer.  You will have to go in printers and cancell the print job.
If you switch off the printer also the print que will wait till the printer comes in ready mode.
You will have to change the configuration of the scheduled report.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks,
    Sastry

  • Scheduled Delivery- Printer display 'you have not set up this print app'

If you add a Scheduled Delivery print app to your printer through the ePC without selecting a delivery schedule, when you go to confirm on printer and perform a 'Print Now' you will see a message on the display “You have not yet set up this print app.  Please to go to www.hpeprintcenter.com to setup your delivery.  Press OK to print a sample copy.”
If you wish to only have the print app as a 'print now' with no deliveries scheduled, you will see this message everytime you perform a print now.
If you wish to have the print app setup as a scheduled delivery then go to the ePC, select the print app, and setup a  scheduled delivery.

  • How to schedule the background job daily twice?

    Hi,
How to schedule the background job daily twice? any conditions?
    Regards,
    Srihitha

see the step by step procedure.
    Scheduling Background Jobs:
    1. Background jobs are scheduled by Basis administrators using transaction SM36.
    2. To run a report in a background, a job needs to be created with a step using the report name
and a variant for selection parameters. It is recommended to create a separate variant for each
scheduled job to produce results for specific dates (e.g. previous month) or organizational units (e.g.
    company codes).
    3. While defining the step, the spool parameters needs to be specified
(Step-> Print Specifications->Properties) to secure the output of the report and help authorized users
to find the spool request. The following parameters needs to be maintained:
    a. Time of printing: set to “Send to SAP spooler Only for now”
    b. Name – abbreviated name to identify the job output
    c. Title – free form description for the report output
    d. Authorization – a value defined by Security in user profiles to allow those users to access
this spool request (authorization object S_SPO_ACT, value SPOAUTH). Only users with matching
authorization value in their profiles will be able to see the output.
    e. Department – set to appropriate department/functional area name. This field can be used in
    a search later.
    f. Retention period – set to “Do not delete” if the report output needs to be retained for more
than 8 days. Once the archiving/document repository solution is in place the spool requests could
be automatically moved to the archive/repository. Storage Mode parameter on the same screen
could be used to immediately send the output to archive instead of creating a spool request.
    Configuring user access:
    1. To access a report output created by a background job, a user must have at
least access to SP01 (Spool requests) transaction without restriction on the user
name (however by itself it will not let the user to see all spool requests). To have
that access the user must have S_ADMI_FCD authorization object in the profile with
SPOR (or SP01) value of S_ADMI_FCD parameter (maintained by Security).
    2. To access a particular job’s output in the spool, the user must have
S_SPO_ACT object in the profile with SPOAUTH parameter matching the value used
in the Print Specifications of the job (see p. 3.d above).
    3. Levels of access to the spool (display, print once, reprint, download, etc) are
controlled by SPOACTION parameter of S_SPO_ACT. The user must have at least
    BASE access (display).
    On-line reports:
    1. Exactly the same configuration can be maintained for any output produced
from R/3. If a user clicks “Parameters” button on a SAP Printer selection dialog, it
allows to specify all the parameters as described in p. 3 of
“Scheduling background jobs” section. Thus any output created by an online report
can be saved and accessed by any user authorized to access that spool request
(access restriction provided by the Authorization field of the spool request
attributes, see p. 3.d of “Scheduling background jobs” section).
    Access to report’s output:
    1. A user that had proper access (see Configuring user access above) can
    retrieve a job/report output through transaction SP01.
    2. The selection screen can be configured by clicking “Further selection
criteria…” button (e.g. to bring “Spool request name (suffix 2)” field or hide other
    fields).
    3. The following fields can be used to search for a specific output (Note that
Created By must be blank when searching for scheduled job’s outputs)
    a. Spool request name (suffix 2) – corresponds to a spool name in p. 3.b in
    “Scheduling background jobs” section above).
    b. Date created – to find an output of a job that ran within a certain date range.
    c. Title – corresponds to spool Title in p. 3.c in “Scheduling background jobs”
    section above).
    d. Department - corresponds to spool Department in p. 3.e in “Scheduling
    background jobs” section above).
    4. Upon entering selection criteria, the user clicks the Execute button to
retrieve the list of matching spool requests.
    5. From the spool list the user can use several function such as view the
content of a spool request, print the spool request, view attributed of the spool
request, etc. (some functions may need special authorization, see p.3 in
    Configuring user access)
    a. Click the Print button to print the spool request with the default attributes
(usually defined with the job definition). It will print it on a printer that was
specified when a job was created.
    b. Click the “Print with changed attributed” button to print the spool request
with the different attributes (e.g. changing the printer name).
    c. Click the “Display contents” button to preview the spool request contents. A
Print and Download functions are available from the preview mode.

  • #*$!%! Can't figure out how REALLY to set the printing defaults so they STICK for everything

PLEASE DON'T REPLY HERE.  PLEASE REPLY TO MY IDENTICAL POST AT

On our 6-month old HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 Wireless A909g, we can't seem to figure out how to set the DEFAULT printing parameters so they really apply to all docs (unless we designate otherwise for a particular doc, of course).  When we set them, sometimes they work for the next doc, and sometimes they revert back to an earlier setting.
There seem to be three ways to set parameters for the printer: Properties, Printing Preferences or Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab.  (We really thought Printing Defaults on the Advanced tab would do it, since it's so hard to find, but ... NOT.)
My partner thinks it's an HP conspiracy to sell more ink because the reversion is to General with Color (the most ink-intensive, as far as I can figure out).  We are trying to fix the machine to start always with Fast-Economical/Black Ink Only.  Sometimes it's there and sometimes we have to re-jigger first.  We still have to check every time.
Also, I want to fix every job to "Print Back to Front" because the printer shoots out the pages face up.  Again, sometimes it's there, and sometimes we have to re-set before the job.
Also, whether we get the default we had set or we re-jigger first, the settings don't stick for every worksheet in an Excel workbook.  Or sometimes not even every page.
So, who out there has the 100% foolproof guide to NAILING DOWN THOSE SETTINGS FOR EVERYTHING?

  • Win 8.1 and J4680c All-in-One: Can't reinstall the printer/drivers

I have followed all of the instructions to re-set up my wireless network, uninstall the printer/drivers, and reinstall the printer/drivers (including renaming all of the .dat files as .old), but once it gets to the install wizard, at the Checking System phase, it tells me:
    C:\Users\Patricia\AppData\Local\Temp\7zS41F0\Setup\hpzshlaut...
System cannot find the file specified.
What is this? I cannot get past it to finish reinstalling, so I cannot use any of the functionality of the printer other than printing! Can anyone help??

  • Material Document schedule job printing.

    Dear All ,
I had configured all configuration to print the material document details in a smartofrm . All details are copied in the material document from output determination.
if i set printing preference  4.send immediately (when saving the application) i am getting the output in the printer. Here the status is green .
Here my user want to set the preference as 1.send with periodically scheduled job , so that all the material documents will be printed at the same time.
How to schedule this in back ground job . I had tried in MB90 its not working there.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Srihari.P

    Hi,
You can schedule the Job for the Despatch time  3. Send with application own transaction  also, for this you have to select the program to run for the Job, as you said you can schedule the JOB on the program of MB90
for Using the Despatch time 1. 1. Send with periodically scheduled job, you have to run or setup job for the Program RSNAST00
Manually you can also run the program RSNAST00 in SE38 to chcek whether the OUTPUT was processed or not
Goto SE38 and with the RSNAST00 ,, execute and enter the Details of Application area ME and OUTPUT type and the Document number.
Then  in the Menu click on Program--Exdcute in Back ground. It will run and in SM37 you can find the Processed outputs or Logs if any in case if they are not processed. you can then trace the error
In the foreground you cant identify the eror or reason of why it was not processed.

  • Can we save the printing preference of FR reporting per report per user?

We are using Hyperion Planning and Financial Reporting version 11.1.1.1. Some of our users will generate PDF for printing (HTML format is badly printed out).
However can we have the option to save the printing preference of each FR report? As some reports are in portrait and some are in landscape format, it is preferred users can setup the printing preference per user per report so that they can choose the paper size and printing orientation.
    Thanks in advance!

OK; should this be submitted to http://developer.apple.com/bugreporter/?
I'm unsure about the best setup for this, but here is some brainstorming:
    - In Workgroup Manager or Directory, an administrator can designate a user to 'auto-accept' invitations if the user is available at that time.
    - Ideally, one would be able to establish an ACL for auto-acceptance, so that a user or admin could designate a list of users/groups from whom a user should auto-accept invites.
    - If a user is set to auto-accept, it is reasonable to assume that this user is either unable to use iCal or does not regularly check their calendar, so invites that are not auto-accepted should be handled somehow. For example, a notification could be e-mailed to the user, an invitation accept/decline message could be sent to the iCal account of a designated administrator or delegate, etc.
I am imagining this for the case of my division, in which we have one person scheduling for lots of people, but I think that the idea of being able to delegate a person to be able to add things to one's calendar without confirmation and to confirm invites from non-privileged users would be useful in other cases as well. For example, a boss wants an administrator/secretary to be able to schedule things on his/her calendar, but does not want this person to be able to see all of the details of existing items on that calendar. I suppose that in this case it would be unclear to which calendar the designate should add the event initially, but I'm sure that for many people the privacy of the boss's calendar is more important than the inconvenience of having to create a throwaway calendar for events created by the delegate.
If anyone has any thoughts to help refine this, please let me know and I will incorporate that into my writeup.
    Thanks,
    Greg

  • This printer is referenced by the printer profile option.

    Hello,
I am trying to delete a printer in the Printers screen, and getting this message:
"This printer is referenced by the printer profile option. You cannot delete a printer that is referenced."
I ran the first select statement to identify the users with this printer in their profiles, and cleared the printer from their profiles.
I ran the second select statement to identify any scheduled jobs going to this printer, and cancelled and rescheduled the jobs to another printer.
I then did some research, and found the third select statment to find the request sets, and moved them to another printer.
I am still getting this profile error. Where else can there exist a profile that is preventing the printer from deleting?

Reporting Agent will be only supported in the 3.X runtime in 2004s,start using Bex Broadcaster.Reporting agent is going to be obsolete or is would say.
All the new functionalities will be implemented in Broadcaster only.

  • Print Empty Workbook

    I have an unusual question...
I would like to be able to print a workbook that returns no data. The reason I need to do this is for documentation purposes. We have several workbooks that check for various exceptions and if everything is right, the workbook will return no data. To be able to document that no "errors" were found, my users will want to print the workbook showing the parameters used to produce no results. If I try to print from Discoverer Plus, I get a message that says "Operation failed. No data can be printed as there are no rows in this report"
Anyone have any ideas on how I could trick it or change a setting to allow it?
    Thanks,
    Emily

    Alfonso -
Do you happen to know if I can do a union all with 2 folders rather than tables/views? The reason, is I don't want to have to re-create the folder that already exists in my Business Area...
As it is, I guess I'm going to have to re-create all the workbooks I have that are based on the folder.
    Thanks,
    Emily

  • Printing entire workbooks in Excel on Macs

We just purchased Acrobat 7 for our office thinking that it finally had the ability to print all the worksheets in an excel workbook. Unfortunately it seems this feature is not supported by 7 :-(

I just "acquired" a copy of Excel 2004 to replace the Test Drive version I have been using for several months. [And, yes, you can trick it into giving you another 30 days.]  The Test Drive's main 'Crippling' is that it won't print, so I was using a work around (described below).<br /><br />Now that I had an un-crippled install I was looking forward to printing to PDF a full workbook of a mere 3 sheets and encountered the same "Prints all sheets over each other leaving only the last" problem as y'all have been having.  I though, "Surely not even Micro$oft could put out a piece of software that has such a STUPID bug!"  But after seeing this problem noted in other boards as well, I learned that I need to lower my expectation of M$ even further, if that is possible.<br /><br />The work around I have been using (and looks like I'll continue to use) is to open the file in NeoOffice <www.neooffice.org> which is itself an 'Aquified' version of OpenOffice.  Once open, you can print the file and use the PDF button in the print dialog, or better yet, I use the built-in 'Export as PDF...' and it will not only save all the sheets to PDF but will make an index to the start of each sheet.<br /><br />Now you are asking why I'm not using NeoOffice instead of Excel.  I is because the spreadsheet I'm using was developed on Excel and has a bunch if VB in it that the NeoOffice developers are working on, but it doesn't yet supports.<br /><br />Again, there is no problem from Micro$oft that Open Source Software can't fix.  Hope this helps.
