Scheduled Reports won't run - no error or entry in "History"

Hi,
I have a very basic CR setup to test the scheduling of Crystal Reports Server, and while it will run manually, in both view mode and if I "Run" it as a manual schedule.
The report emails out.
But on a schedule of "Every week day" at 4:30pm it just doesn't run. There is no entry in the history to indicate it failed - it is as if it didn't even run to be honest.
Any help is greatly aprecieated.

check if your CrystalReport Job Server is running.
Regards.

  • Report won't run for mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel

    Hi,
My customers need to run reports in excel and type in parameters into the parameter from. The URL is:
    http://myServer/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?xyz+server=Repserv+report=rptName.rdf+destype=cache+paramform=yes+desformat=delimited+mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel
The parameter from shows up and all the LOVs are there, the reset botton works, the Submit Query botton only shows Submit (NO QUERY). The report won't run when I click on Submit botton.
But it works perfectly if no mimetype=application/vnd.ms-excel in URL
Can anybody help me to fix this ?
    Thanks

The mimetype parameter was only introduced in 6.0.8.10 and above. What version are you running ?
    Thanks,

  • Scheduled Report Fails To Run If User Password Has Expired

Why can't a report, that has been scheduled for a user whose password has expired, continue to run and go to its predefined destinations?
A user doesn't know until he/she attempts to log in that there is a password expiration issue.  They may have scheduled the report to go to a  multitude of inboxes, but if their password has expired, the report doesn't run.
I can understand "some" issues with the necessity to stop the report until credentials are updated correctly.  However, Business Objects doesn't notify a user until it has expired, thus making it too late for those expecting something in their inbox.
Is there any method of notifying users that their password is going to be expiring soon, in advance?  In other words, is there any "proactive" feature within Business Objects for notifying the user of an upcoming need to change their password?
    HepMe

There is nothing built in to BusinessObjects for this, but there may be third-party tools available or you can write code that would do this.
In Query Builder, run this query:
    Select SI_ID, SI_Name, SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME, SI_UPDATE_TS, SI_LASTLOGONTIME
    from CI_SYSTEMOBJECTS where SI_Kind = 'User' and SI_NAME != 'Administrator' and SI_NAME != 'Guest' and SI_PASSWORDEXPIRE = 1
order by SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME desc, SI_UPDATE_TS desc
Users who are new and haven't yet changed their password will not have a value for SI_LAST_PASSWORD_CHANGE_TIME, so you can use SI_UPDATE_TS to determine when they were created.
You could build an application that uses this query to determine who is getting close to password expiration and send out an email reminding those users to change their passwords.

  • Webview Peripheral reports won't run

I have a 7.5.10 Webview server that has been operational for years, now all Peripheral reports will not run and Peripheral lists are empty.   All other Webview  real time and historical reports work fine from this server.  I re-installed Webview and verified user permissions/settings.  Also ran PATCHPBL and deleted compiled reports folder.   Experienced the same results, all reports run fine except Peripheral reports.
The only error  message I get is:   DBERROR:  SqlDbCode=208, SqlErrorText=Select error: SQLSTAT = S0002 [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Invalid object name 'Peripheral'
I have never experienced an issue with just one type of report, any suggestions?

  • ISync won't run giving error, NSInvalidReceivePortException

I am unable to sync my contacts and calendar with my iPhone or MobileMe because iSync won't run.
    The error message says:
    iSync can't be launched
SyncServices: Can't connect to the sync server: NSInvalidReceivePortException: connection went invalid while waiting for a reply ((null))
A test user account works fine. So it is something specific to my main user account. Trashing all preferences in the user library doesn't fix it.

I had this problem and was able to fix it following your instructions. THANK YOU. Although iTunes is not crashing repeatedly on starting it. This is at least a step in the right direction towards fixing what ever issue I was having.
    Thanks again

  • Report won't run in infoview

I have a Crystal Reports 11 report that will run in designer but won't run in infoview.  In designer it takes about 20 seconds to run but in infoview it never finishes.  I've verifyed the database and it's the same databse, and user as other reports.   What else can I check?

    Ok,
First check your services and make sure that the crystal report services are up, it sounds like one of them might be down (you will need admin rights for that - or as someone with admin rights).
If they are all up - please make sure that your infoview server version matches crystal reports version - if not - this might be the reason.
Hope I managed to help you out.

  • Scheduled task won't run .bat file

Hi. On Windows Server 2008 I have a scheduled task that calls a .bat file. The fist step in the .bat file is write to a log file to the same directory in which the .bat file exists. This allows me to find out if it is ever run. When the .bat file is run from a command prompt it runs as expected writing to the log file and completing its actions. My problem is that when I run the scheduled task manually or allow it to run when scheduled it appears to run but the .bat file is never run. No log file is ever created. The History tab in the properties of the scheduled tasks shows the task being started and running then completing with an operation code of 2. I've disabled the UAC for the user account. I've set the task to run as the Administrator user and verified the permissions for that user. I know the password is correct for the task because I can make changes to the properties and save those changes with the username/password. I'm at a loss for further troubleshooting steps. Can anyone point me in the right direction to figure out why these .bat files are not being run?

So I had this problem, I double clicked on the .bat and notepad opened the .bat.  I ran through this whole long and very absorbing thread of this forum.   I wanted to save the entries that were most helpful, so I copied and pasted into
a notepad document (.txt)  I could not find a way to attach it here, so I copied and pasted that below. I called it a synopsis....  Did I spell that right?
As you can see, I added my experience at the top (A and B).  The stuff I copied is noted with the original author. This is the first time I posted anything to these here microsoft forums, although I have been telling computers what to do for 40+ years.
So hope I did not break any social protocols here.

This was created as a synopsis of the entries at the following forum location:

    A) manually
This is an opinion added by Thomas Rock
        1) Open a command window (that would be cmd.exe)
        2) In the command window navigate to the directory containing the .bat file and it's dependents
               ex...  C:\Program Files (x86)\Bobs\Your\Uncle
        3) Run the .bat file by typing the name including the .bat extension (in the command window of course)
                 TheBatFile.bat
Note: Using this method, the .bat file will run in the current command window directory (the directory where the .bat file is located)
(this is the key for getting it to run in the task scheduler... Start in folder option)
    B) The double click
This is an opinion added by Thomas Rock
         1) Using Windows exlporer, find the .bat file
         2) use the mouse or other device to double click on the .bat file
         3) if it does not run (in my case the wordpad application opened the .bat file)
              a) make sure that the .bat file extension is associated with the program c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe
              b) make sure the profile you are using has rights to run the cmd.exe
              c) make sure the profile has the rights to the directories, the .bat and any other objects used or affected by the .bat file processing.
    C) As a task using task scheduler
Proposed As Answer by Brian Vandemark Wednesday, September 02, 2009 9:36 PM
    1) Make sure that the task is set to "configure for Windows Vista or Windows 2008" on the first page of the task properties (under the "general" tab)
    2) Make sure that the task is set to "start in" the folder that contains the batch file:
          a) open the task properties
          b) click on the "actions" tab
          c) click on the action and then the "edit" button at the bottom.
          d) In the "Edit Action" Window there is a field for "start in (optional)" that you set to the path to the batch file.
          e) be sure to include an end backslash for the start in path "C:\dir1\dir2\"    (the last backslash is not optional)
    3) Make sure that the task is running as an account that has explicit "Full access" permissions to all these things:
          a) the .bat file itself
          b) the folder containing the .bat file
          c) the target files/folders that are affected by the .bat script.
Note:  Inherited permissions did not seem to work.
    4) Make sure that the account running the task is a member of the local "administrators" group for this machine
    5) Make sure that the task is set to "run whether logged on or not"
    6) Tick the box "Run with highest privileges".
Note: Point 6 here was from Edson F. Lima Wednesday June 30 2010 1:35 PM
The original point 6 was moved to point 7.
    7) The Task should run successfully with expected output when you right-click on the task and select "run"
If it does that then it will run successfully when you are logged off.
    D) Still another way as a task using task scheduler
Proposed As Answer byDarren Wallace Thursday, July 15, 2010 1:41 AM
This has been bugging me for 6 or 7 months.
I don't have admin rights to the box and the guy who does is very busy...
so I've felt the range of emotions mentioned above.
I tried most everything above as well. But what seemed to get my processes processing, was ...
       • on the General tab, I clicked the Change User or Group button
       • in Select User or Group (first smaller dialog box)  I clicked the Advanced... button
       • in the next Select User or Group (second bigger dialog box) I clicked the Find Now button
       • in the Search results I selected the Administrators (a group) and it returned SERVERname\Administrators into the "Enter the object name to select" entry in the previous dialog box
       • then I clicked OK and returned to the General tab above
       • the options to Run only when user is logged on and Run whether user is logged on or not are no longer available
       • then I made sure that the Run with highest privileges was checked
       • then I clicked OK and during the next scheduled time to run ... it ran
Note: See note in A) Manually above.
    E) Task scheduler recommendation
Proposed As Answer byTamusJRoyceThursday, December 01, 2011 3:42 PM
I have found .bat and .cmd files do not run correctly either.
My solution:  Don't run the batch file directly.
           Have TaskScheduler run:  cmd.exe
              with parameter:  /C YourBatchFile.bat
and start in: C:\SomePath\ (without quotes!) where C:\SomePath\YourBatchFile.bat exists.
And then select the radio button for it to run regardless if you are logged in or not.
Exit errors may not be logged to the Event Log (they weren't when the .bat ran directly from Task Scheduler when I was logged in), so I find it best to manually log your own Event in case a error occurs and you want to send an email.
REM Logs an event which causes eventlog to send an email when it fails.  Also, "/l application" needs to be lowercase.
    eventcreate /t error /id 203 /l application /d "your logged description."
And then make a completely separate task with a trigger:  On an event.  Basic Selected.  Log: Application.  Source: EventCreate. Event ID: 203.  And have the action on this task send an email (attaching any generated log files, if needed).
Hopefully helpful (took me 3 days to figure all this out...gar)

  • Scheduled reports do not run/get delivered?

Im new to business objects. We are running XI R2 currently. I have imported some objects/reports. I can run them successfully. I have now set them to be scheduled to run once a day and email myself and a coworker. When I go to history tab and say Run Now, the reports get emailed to both of us, and look great.
However, these same reports are not being generated or emailed once a day like Ive requested. Im not getting an error anywhere (or I dont know where to look). What is causing the schedule not to run?
All my services are running (jobserver, etc.).
    M

    Hi Maria
Is this your clustered environment? Are you able you to schedule the same Report for short duration,
like 5 minutes or 10 minutes?
What is the type of Report your scheduling? (Crystal Report, Web Intelligence or Desktop Intelligence)
Is this problem coming with any specific report or every report?

Got this error. Tried to download and reinstall latest version. Said that it installed/upgraded ok. Tried to run again and got same crash.

The updater wasn't able to update all the files and some were left as older versions.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 5.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Custom reports do not run with error message: Routine FDPREP cannot read ..

    Hi
Can anybody help me with this issue pls?
The dev system is cloned from production a few days ago. After running the post clone procedure, the dev is working fine except when we are trying to run custom reports, it errorred out with error message - Routine FDPREP cannot read the file /fmis/11.5.0/reports/US/POXPRPO1.rep. I have checked the env files, and they seem ok. $CUSTOM_TOP is set to the correct value. Other standard Oracle reports are running properly. The custom report file extension is in low case (.rdf). I've even tried to compile the report manually by using rwcon60.sh, the rep file was created under that folder but concurrent manager is still giving the same error message. So I am suspecting whther it is the path issue, as from the error message we can see up there, it is not showing the absolute path. Can anyone pls shed some lights on this for me?
    Thanks!
    Liang

    Hi hsawwan,
Echo $FMIS_TOP(Custom Top) returns /global/app/fdev/home/fdevapp/findevappl/fmis/11.5.0, which is the correct path.
Interesting thing is I checked the custom forms and they are working properly , our current configuration is form server and web server are sitting on one node, and CM, admin and database are sitting on the other node. So it seems it is the CM node settings caused the problem. However, I've just compared the APPSORA.env, customfindev_XXXXXX.env $FMIS_TOP (Custom Top) on the two nodes, and nothing seems out of ordinary.
    Thanks,
    Liang

  • ITunes won't run - gets error message from windows

I updated my iTunes, and then it would not run - got the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. I repaired the files, same thing. I uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing. I followed all the directions on the support site, same thing. What now?

Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close
the first thing that i check for when people report getting that message when they try to launch their itunes is a broken or missing QuickTime. (itunes needs a fully functional QT in order to work properly.)
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly? or do you get an error message, or some other peculiar behavior, or find that it isn’t on your PC at all?
if you get an error message (or peculiar behavior, or find that it’s missing), the first thing we'll try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
Quicktime 7.1 Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention itunes 6
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

  • 10g report won't run in 11g

    Hi,
I'm trying to migrate some reports from our 10.1.2.0.2 app server to an 11.1.2.0 one. The report I am currently working with compiles and runs fine in 10g Reports Builder, but when I copy it to the new 11g middleware server and try to run it, it gives me the following error:
    REP-1247: Uncompiled program units exist.
REP-1247: The report contains uncompiled PL/SQL.
There is no uncompiled PL/SQL in the report (that I can find), however googling this error it appears there could be something else wrong. I have been unable to get Developer 11g working on my workstation and I can't find a script to compile the report on the 11g middleware server. I am using a .RDF report and not a .REP one. Can someone help me troubleshoot this problem?
    Thanks
    Adam

    Hi,
you can try the following options
1- Run the report passing RECURSIVE_LOAD=no as parameter and see behavior
2- To compile all the reports you can use rwconverter and a windows script.
    Example
    @ECHO OFF
    REM WINDOWS COMPILE REPORT
    ::compile_report.bat
    cls
    Echo compiling Report .....
for %%f IN (*.rdf) do (
    <YOUR ORACLE_HOME>\bin\RWCONVERTER.bat USERID=user/pass@db BATCH=yes STYPE=RDFFILE SOURCE=%%f DTYPE=REPFILE OVERWRITE=NO
    ping 1.1.1.1 -n 1 -w 20000 > nul

  • [11g]  Report won't print with error 50003

    Hi,
I have one report that works, the other not,
    here are the URL
    FCRRP004
    http://20.33.68.208:8090/reports/rwservlet
    ?server=fnacserver
    &report=FCRRP004.rdf
    &userid=JBM/784564@onzeg
    &p_servername=fnacserver
    &P_REP_NM=FCRRP004.rdf
    &p_user_connect=JBM/784564@onzeg
    &DIV_MODNAME=FCRRP004
    &DIV_SITE=01
    &DIV_DEPOSANT=01
    &P_ACTION=/reports/rwservlet?
    &paramform=yes
    FCRRP089
    http://20.33.68.208:8090/reports/rwservlet
    ?server=fnacserver
    &report=FCRRP089.rdf
    &userid=JBM/784564@onzeg
    &p_servername=fnacserver
    &P_REP_NM=FCRRP089.rdf
    &p_user_connect=JBM/784564@onzeg
    &DIV_MODNAME=FCRRP089
    &DIV_SITE=01
    &DIV_DEPOSANT=01
    &P_ACTION=/reports/rwservlet?
    &paramform=yes
I have checked both in Report Builder 11G, I cannot find the problem.
Here is the beginning of the error message:
REP-50003: The parameter value is invalid: pfaction=http://20.33.68.208:8090....
Many thanks if you can help or tell me where to find the Oracle Documentation on Reports 11g Errors.

    Hi
We have a Report launcher Forms module that populates an url_variable then calls it with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT:
    http://11.11.11.11:8090/reports/rwservlet?server=myr&report=FCRRP089.rdf&userid=JBM/784564@onzeg&p_servername=myserverr&P_REP_NM=FCRRP089.rdf&p_user_connect=JBM/784564@onzeg&DIV_MODNAME=FCRRP089&DIV_SITE=01&DIV_DEPOSANT=01&P_ACTION=/reports/rwservlet?&paramform=yes
Here is the response after I submit the URL
REP-50003: The parameter value is invalid: pfaction=http:/11.11.11.11:8090/reports/rwservlet?_hidden_server=myserver
    &report=FCRRP089.rdf&userid=JBM%2F784564%40onzeg&p_servername=myserver&P_REP_NM=FCRRP089.rdf
    &p_user_connect=JBM%2F784564%40onzeg&DIV_MODNAME=FCRRP089&DIV_SITE=01&DIV_DEPOSANT=01
    &P_ACTION=%2Freports%2Frwservlet%3F&paramform=yes.
The same mechanism works URL works with 50 others reports
