Scheduled text messages?

Can the Iphone 4S schedule text messages to send out at a predetermined frequency? Or can an app accomplish this task?

1. No it's not possible.
2. No I wish there was. All apps that claim they can have to ask you to send before doing so. No more then a reminder to send the message.
Hope that helps

  • Text Messages & Calendar Time off by 1 Hour

Hi. Does anyone else have this problem?  I can't seem to find it in the forum discussions when I search.  Please direct me if I missed it.
My time zone is correct.  Here's the situation.  When I open the text message app all the messages are listed and the time in that location is correct.  When I open any one of the contacts to view the text message it is ahead by one hour.  To clarify..if you send me a text right now at 10:22.  In the list it will show 10:22 but when I open up our discussion your message says it arrived at 11:22 even tho it isn't even 11:22 yet.  All messages do this.
    Calendar
The calendar acts similar.  If I enter an appointment in SCHEDULE mode (the little arrow at the top changes the view) then all appointments will be ahead an hour but when you go into the appointment to view it..it says the correct time but views wrong.  So viewing your day at a glance in this mode shows all appointments out by an hour.   Because of this I have had to use my calendar in AGENDA mode or view so the times show up correctly and don't drive me crazy.
    Anyone??
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for pointing me to the post.  Unfortunately the workaround doesn't  work.
The only work around for this problem is to keep your calendar in Agenda mode for anyone else having same problem.  And we have to live with the text messages being an hour off until an update comes which might be never in this province...yes a slam to Sasktel..thanks

  • Text messaging after the new software update

i have not been able to text out since the update, it sits forever in the message window and i can type the message i want to send but when i hit send nothing happens, it sits for a few minutes and then says "failed to save message" .
then goes blank. i have power cycled, and i have waited and i tried plugging in the device and trying again, nothing. It has alwys used up my entire battery that was a full 100% at 7 am and down to 20% by 9 am and all i did was try and sent a text message...WTH is going on with it?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
With a strong carrier network signal (e.g., not merely WiFi), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive
    2) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you might want to try a clean OS reload via AutoLoader:

  • Can not send SMS text message.

Hi, I'm a BlackBerry user for 4 years now and this is the first time that I have a problem with SMS text messaging. My precious BB is a Q10.
The problem is that I can receive SMS messages but I can not answer and I can not send messages. When I tap the 'send' icon or press Enter nothing happens. My message dissapears and i can not see in the upper window, below the message that I've previously receive and I wanted to aswer for.
Also, I can compose SMS message, but when I press Enter or tap send, nothing happens. No message in the hub, or in the text messages folder.
I've rebooted the device, reloaded the OS, but didn't help.

  • Can't open 'Text Messages' options window

    Hi,
I'm trying to modify my text message options. In the message list window I press the Blacberry key, scroll down and select 'options' - the options page pops up for about a second, and then I'm taken back to message list.
I'm able to open email and other options windows without an issue - this only happens for text message options. Any ideas?
(I've just tried software update and have been told I have the latest)
    Any ideas? Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

  • I've been texting my friend with iMessage with wifi on and all of a sudden it changed to text message and won't let me send messages. My wifi is still on and working but it won't switch back to iMessage. Please help

I've been texting my friend with iMessage with wifi on and all of a sudden it changed to text message and won't let me send messages. My wifi is still on and working but it won't switch back to iMessage. Please help

What I recommend you try doing first is to turn iMessage off then back on.  If that doesn't work, make sure that your Apple ID and password are correct.  If everything seems correct and you still can't send out messages using iMessage instead of text message, I think you should either try calling AppleCare at 1-800-MY-IPHONE (1-800-694-7466) and/or scheduling an appointment at the Genius Bar at an Apple Store (that is, if there's one close to you).
    Hope this helps!

  • How can I transfer my saved text messages from one phone to another?

I have a Blackberry Curve 9320 and recently it began malfunctioning, so I have been sent a replacement of the same model. My problem is that I can transfer things like photos and contacts easily enough but I want to know if there's a way of keeping the text messages that I'd saved on the previous phone and putting them on the new one, any ideas?

  • Clearing of text messages history

for some reason my blackberry curve just started clearing all my text message history???  i've no idea why or how?  in fact, i checked the history option and i have it set to keeping it for 6 months, before it was 3 months, but i never had the problem that all of  a sudden all my text messages were cleared, it seems as if it may be on some schedule to clear it all.  but how this came about i've no idea as i don't believe that i changed any function and i don't want this happening anymore...
    help????
    thanks!

Sometimes happens because you are running the device under low memory.
First of all with the phone turn on take out the battery for 30 seconds and reinstall the battery again.
Read this link with tips for memory space.

  • Issue w/Wiped Text Messages?

I'm trying to find out if anyone else has had part of their text messages wiped from their Blackberry?
Back in August '12, I noticed that I wasn't able to access text messages that were before a specific day in August.  I chalked it up to a bug or a one time screwy thing.
But last week, I noticed that I wasn't able to access text messages that were before March 24, 2013.
When I spoke with my provider (T-Mobile) they said that maybe Blackberry was consolidating their databases.  Which I could understand *IF* they gave me a warning, so I could back the information up.  I keep a lot of data in my texts, and so I've lost a lot of information.  The latest  response from my provider was that if I'd backed up the phone recently, I could use that to recover the messages that were wiped, but then I'd loose any messages that were received after the backup date.
    Help?

KB14320How to maximize free space and battery power on the BlackBerry smartphone

  • Attaching photos to text messages

My Torch will not send a text with a photograph. It has until just a few days ago. I have tried "rebooting" the phone more than once to no effect. It will send a text without a photograph without issue.
What might have caused the change and how can I fix the problem?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
MMS (sometimes called "picture messaging") is, on BlackBerry, a component of your data level services...SMS (true text messages) are part of your voice level services.
Hence, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you contact your mobile service provider (ATT according to your profile here) for formal support...and to be sure that you remain subscribed (from them) to an adequate data plan to enable the services you desire.
    Good luck!

  • Can't delete text messages.

I am a veteran bb user and have had the q10 for almost 2 weeks. I just downloaded the software upgrade 10.1.0.4189 And I problem I did not have in the past as appeared... Before the upgrade I had no problem deleting an entire text message... Or components of it. Since the upgrade I can not delete a text message... I can go into the conversation and delete components of the message... And empty every entry out of the conversation... But the persons name still appears in the texts and I can not delete it... It lets me touch the trash can. And it asks be to confirm I want to delete it.. But it does NOT delete it. I can delete emails BUT not text... Like I said this has only become a problem since I downloaded the update. 2 other odd behaviors in text are these... When I select the trash can icon it jumps to the left... Out from under my finger... And when I am in a text and I want to add a picture to a conversation... It notifies me that it is converting to mms and THEN the contact appears at the top of the message Twice and gets the picture twice... From every text after that it delivers the message to the contact twice. Since I can no longer delete a text from my bb currently I started a new message thread again with the person so they wouldnt get the message twice and although my two line only showed their name once... it sent the plain text twice AND when i looked at my sent messages it had tagged the single message on to the one that puts the person name twice The odd thing is this only happens some times... Not all conversations add the contact again... All notify me it is converting to mms. But only the first time... Then every message after that even plain text lists all sent as mms... The problem is I can not delete the thread... So my friend is being irritated by doubles of everything I send him.

Hey can sum1 plz help me....i use a bb torch and when i press my text messages folder it doesnt open it shows me an error dat sayz "uncaught exception:java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException"... i rebooted my fone many times...but it still shows the same erroe..wat should i du? its really frustrating

    I suggest an OS reload.
At the top of each device forum, there should be some "sticky" threads that discuss the OS levels available for many models. If they include your model, then please use those as reference as you proceed. Otherwise, you will have to dig through the official download portal for OS packages for your model:
    http://us.blackberry.com/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML
Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
You may also want to investigate the use of BBSAK (bbsak.org) to perform the wipe it is capable of.
You may also want to try this procedure to perhaps narrow down the precise causal item:
Load your OS "bare bones"...if anything is optional, do not install it.
If the behavior presents immediately, then try a different OS with step 1
If the behavior does not immediately present, then run for as long as it takes for you to be sure that the behavior will not present.
Add one thing -- no matter how tempting, just one.
If the behavior does not present immediately, then again run for long enough to be sure it will not have the same problem
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until all things are loaded or the behavior presents
When the behavior presents, you know the culprit...the last thing you loaded.
If the behavior does not re-present, then you know that either step 1 or 2 cured it.
If the behavior presents no matter what, then you likely have a hardware level issue for which no amount of OS or software can cure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software
Good luck and let us know!

  • Sttaching pictures to text messages???

When I copose a text message and press the menu button/icon/thingy the option of attaching a file does not appear in the menu. Do I have to do a dance and throw some bones on the desk or??? Even my old dumb phone lets me add a picture to a text message.Yes there are pictures in the camera to attach.

Well, technically you are absolutely correct -- since Text Messages are designed for only text, an image would not be attachable. Now, if you happen to subscribe to MMS messaging from your carrier, then you should be able to send an MMS with a picture attached.
