'Scheduler' link in Oracle Database Control

Hi all,
In Oracle Database Control, I cannot see link to "Scheduler" under Administration tab page as described in the documentation or a link to "Manage Current Backups"
How can I obtain those links?
Please note that I'm speaking about Oracle EM Databse Control (that shipped with the datbase CD itself) and not the Database Grid Control product.

I have the same problem with Grid Control 10.1.0.4 on Sun Solaris 9. Target database are 10.1.0.4.0 64-bit, also on Solaris 9 64-bit. As described in Help, under "Administration" tab is sub-tab "Scheduler" with following links: Jobs, Schedules, Programs, Job Classes, Windows, Window Groups.
Who knows, what I need to do for resolving this issue? I need scheduler administration!

How and where (which menu) can I log into Oracle Database Control (AKA DB Control)?

Oracle database control not working

Thanks for your reply, when i try to connect db control from my browser using link https://zainbi.zainiq.com:1158/em it will show me below message
can't establish a connection to the server at zainbi.zainiq.com:1158.
When i check the status: emctl status dbconsole
EM Configuration issue. /db0/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1/zainbi.zainiq.com_DB11G not found.
when i check the path i found the last folder with sid name in lower case /db0/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1/zainbi.zainiq.com_db11g.
I have rename the directory with /db0/app/oracle/product/11.2.0.3/db_1/zainbi.zainiq.com_DB11G.
Then i execute emctl status dbconsole command it show running state and i have successfully connected to my enterpirse manager.
So moral of the story is : use the same case for database sid in tnsname and database installation other wise face problem in configuring oracle enterprise manager repository.

Scheduled job in oracle database 10g release 2

I have scheduled a batch job job to run once a day at 8.30 in the morning
but the program runs twice a day, onca at acheduled time and once in the evening 18.30.
I am unable to find any reference to the batch program in the job any where.
Database version: Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit Production
Operating system version: HP-UX B.11.11

This job is scheduled through dba_jobs.

Linking 2 oracle database through java

can any one provide all the necessary information for linking 2 different oracle databases and retriving data for jsp web application.
In one of my new web application i need to retrive data from 2 different oracle database's and show a report.
At present ,the application is using linked tables for Ms-Access.

I am trying to download the documentation for Oracle Database 10g but the zip archive seems to be corrupt. The md5 checksum for the file I have downloaded is:

Is it possible to schedule SQLPLUS script with 6 different parameters? If yes then how can I schedule for monday to friday or only for Saturday and sundays.
Please provide brief steps.

Let me explain to you about scheduler.
You can schedule a pl/sql stored procedure TEST_S as follows...
Begin
dbms_scheduler.create_job(
job_name=>'MY_JOB',
Job_Type=>'STORED_PROCEDURE',
job_action=>'TEST_S',
start_date=>sysdate,
repeat_interval=>'freq=monthly;BYDAY=MON,TUE,WED,THU,FRI',

You can also also execute o/s script like .bat or .sh. For this job type should be EXECUTABLE.
Example of converting a .sql script in .bat script...

So first read about DBMS_SCHEDULER and do the work in prompt. Then you can go and schedule it even by database control.

PS: By default each job you created is disable state. Please enable it by enable procedure of DBMS_SCHEDULER package.

Can not open database control in oracle 11g r2, listener issues

Hi,
I installed Oracle 11g r2 database on my laptop for testing. at beginning everything was fine and working. 2 days later i am unable to run oracle database control.. i get page not found!
I tried all the tricks and read almost 200 pages from oracle documentation, none of this was even close to help!
(by the way oracle documentation is a fail in my opinion, it really tend to complicate things so much and talk about things not related to what a developer want to read about, its even hard for professional programmer to keep up with this, I started to hate dealing with Oracle before even going deep!!)
I tried deleting database and creating new database i get the following warning:
- Enterprise manager configuration failed due to the following error:
listener is not up or database service is not registered with it. start listener and register database service.. etc.
Some how after few hours the control is working but the database is not there, and it shows that the listener is up, but database is down.
I tried creating a new database, but i get the error above (it seems its created but not linked to listener!!)
I guess what triggered this error is running xampp, i was also working in php project and ran xampp for test, since then oracle is corrupted!
any help would be appreciated (please don't send me links to oracle documentation because its useless and not straight to the point)

anyway, now am getting new error: ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (150) exceeded
I get this error when trying to login to SQL plus, or create/configure database.
I tried deleting oracle 11g via universal installer i get message saying run the command c:\...dbhome_1\deinstall\deinstall

link not working in control file of PDFBinder

Hello,
I am using java API of BI Publisher and need a bound PDF that may have the same document included in two places of the binder.
In such a case the document shall be merged only once and the both the entries of the document in Table of Contents shall point to the starting page of the document that was merged.
I planned to use a link in the control file to achieve this but am not able to find the link. Does anybody know if the link needs to be referred in a page template?

I checked your site and found that there is some component that is overlapping the featured news section (for the link that says "life size barbie dreamhouses to open..."), and hence you are not able to click on the link. This component may be an empty textframe, rectangle etc. or the frame for another component being too large.
Please go to the design mode in Muse for this page and locate this component, and remove or resize it accordingly, after which the link would become clickable.
You may open the page in design mode and "select all" for ease of locating it.

How to create a DBlink from oracle database on unix to sqlserver

I need to create a database link from oracle database on solaris machine to sqlserver database.I found that the database link cannot be created from oracledatabase 10g to microsoft sqlserver.So i am planning to go for another windows server where i can pull this data from sqlserver to oracle 10g database on windows and then from windows to unix.
Can you explain me how can i create a database link from orace 10g on windows to sqlserver.

I am ready to create a intermediate windows server where i can pull the table temporarily and then from there to unix box.

DB Link between Oracle and MySQL!

Dear All,
If someone has done this before, please let me know how to create a DB link from Oracle database to access MySQL database.
Oracle database is on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Oracle is 11gR1.
MySQL is on the same Linux version and MySQL version is 5.1
