  • Setting scheduled Mail on BO with Lotus Notes SMTP Server

    Hi,
I'm trying to setup a scheduled email but the SMTP Server is using Lotus Notes.
When I try to setup I've got error stating that smtp 504 - command parameter not implemented.
Is there any specific settings for scheduled email using Lotus Notes SMTP Server?
    Regards,
    Budi Setiawan

    Welcome to the forums.
In the most general of terms, smtp is smtp, imap is imap, pop is pop, still ugly, and best avoided in favor of imap, and they interoperate.
As for your case, you face some choices...
...either run your local group's mail on your Mac OS X Server (which you apparently cannot do here?) and set up the corporate DNS and configure the corporate employee directory (LDAP, Microsoft GAL, whatever) to forward mail to your mail server...
...or you need to configure your mail clients to use your organization's smtp/pop/imap server running within your target environment (and get the smtp/pop/imap support enabled, if it's not already enabled)...
...or you need to figure out how to break this protocol and mail server and version deadlock with your management...
Lotus/Domino has had SMTP/POP/IMAP services for a decade or so, and there are various postings around the 'net reporting successful connections from Apple mail into Lotus/Domino servers, so your local Mac OS X clients should connect into most any Domino server around, if it's enabled for any of the "standard" mail clients that are in use, including Apple's Mail.app, Mozilla's Thunderbird and Seahorse, Microsoft's Outlook Express, etc.

  • Scheduling Mail to Send Later

I usually compose email to clients at night. I would prefer if my clients couldn't see that I send my emails at 2:00 am. To hide this fact I leave the messages open so I can send them in the morning. I would prefer if I could find a way to schedule my messages departure at a particular time. Can this be done?

It can be done with a script. If you download these scripts:
    http://homepage.mac.com/aamann/Mail_Scripts.html
There is one there that is called scheduled delivery. You just save as a draft, run the script and it will show all your drafts. You can then pick what time you would like them to be sent.

  • Schedule Mail.app to send an Email in the future

Hey everyone, I want to send an email in the future, for marking an anniversary of a friends daughters passing away. I Don't want to miss it and I don't want to have to compose a message last minute. I want to compose it NOW. Is there a script or something I can use to make Mail.app send the mail via my Gmail IMAP at a specified time?
    Thanks!

I will say that Mail Scripts does work. I have used it for a couple of years and it allows me to create an email, save as DRAFT, then run the script for it to send it out in the future.
It even still works on Mountain Lion 10.8.1
    Grab it here:

  • How to program mails to be sent in future date

in the mail application and Outlook for Mac.
(outlook for windows allows me to program de date a mail may be sent)

You can use the Automator app to set an alarm on your calendar which sends the mail at a future time.
It's simpler than it might sound.  This explains how:

  • Snooze an email message? (Automator Workflow in Mail)

I want to snooze an email message in Mail.
Meaning make it disappear and come back at certain time later...
Anyone have thoughts on how to approach this in Automator?
I've been told to have Mail pass the message to iCal and have it resent that way, but I was hoping to just work within the Mail.app.

Here's a way to do almost exactly what you're asking (slightly different) by using Automator to pass the message to iCal:

  • Import Outlook 2011 for MAC database from a security copy

After many years using Outlook for Windows, I bought a MAC Book Pro and Outlook 2011 for MAC. I use it for mail, contacts, notes and calendar and yesterday I had a problem. Since then, when I click the Outlook icon what appear is the system completely void. Contacts, notes, schedules, mail folders, everything have disappeared. I have a security copy done on an external hard disk, where I find everything, but I don't know what must I do to recover the Outlook database. I would be very grateful for some help taking into account that I have minimal experience on iOS software.
    Thanks

    Hi Ryan,
I suggest double check the permission configuration.
And also check whether the reply button enabled.
    Thanks

  • Icloud sync with gmail?

I own a gmail account which is my primary one in use.
For given reasons it would be nice to pull over the schedules, mails, etc. to the icloud so i can stop using 2 accounts on my mbp and ipad. Did anyone knew a way to realize that?
On the other hand Iam now using my Apple ID for buying apps and music, with Icloud i have a additional one with @me.com.
Is it possible to use just one ID, so I dont need to keep both.

  • New iPad Without Siri Insanity

I just posted the following to iPad feedback after realizing Siri was not a built-in app on the New iPad I just ordered:
"Just ordered new iPad rev 3.  I was astonished that Siri was not a built-in app.  I realize Siri is a fantastic, go to assistant for purely mobile devices like the iPhone but my general use of your iPad would utilize Siri at least as much.  I sold Macs back in the 90's, (remember Newton), and got a chance to see an Apple produced video vision of the personal assistant.  It showed a desktop, voice reactive Mac program for scheduling, mailing, and general information resource access.  I've had your first iPad since release and I'm wondering, how that vision would not apply to the iPad.  It's my primary, off desk resource. That's the vision I had for iPad!  It seems the only barrier is to release the app.  Apple!  Your still behind your own, 17 year old vision."
Am I off base on this?  If enough folks agree, maybe Apple would release the app for iPad.  Speak your vision!

  • Calander: 3 emails from one alert

I have a practice and would like to remind people the day before their appointment of the appointment. I am trying to use calendar to accomplish this. I read a tip that suggests adding my clients emails to my contact in contacts and then selecting an alert in calendar, use the email option, select the clients email address that I have added to my contact page, and then one days before event. This is working however it is sending three copies of the alert to the client.
One is addressed to :"My Name <[email protected]>"
the second is addressed to :"My Name" which I can click on and there is a pulldown menu that shows [email protected]
the third is addressed to: "[email protected]"
Can someone tell me what is happening and how can I stop two of the three emails.
I am using mountain lion 10.8.2. I am using iCloud. My calendars are on I cloud in my contacts are on iCloud.

  • Send SMS to attendee

Is there a way to send an SMS message to an attendee of an appointment you've created in Calendar? It needs to be SMS to cater for contacts who don't use iPhones or Macs.
We have a customer who's trying to move from a Windows system that wants this ability but I can't seem to find any information on this or even Mac based applications that can do this.
I've found some software in the Mac App Store but it's completely useless to us because it doesn't support any telcos other than the American ones so doesn't work in New Zealand.
Failing that does anyone know of scheduler app that provides this functionality?
    Thanks folks.

I've seen a similar (but not identical) question that probably involves a similar solution.  The answer would involve using Apple's Automator tool (on your Mac, which I assume you have - if you don't have a Mac, please ignore this entire response).
This particular solution solves this issue:  How can you compose an email message and then delay sending it until a specific future time?
    http://joannalaforet.wordpress.com/2010/02/08/schedule-mail-on-mac-the-easier-wa y-automator-ical-alarm/
I'm thinking a similar Automator script can detect a specific appointment, its attendee(s), and compose and send an SMS response (from your Mac).
