Scheduling of Parallel Sequence in Routing & Production Order

Hello Friends,
I have gone through sap library & many other threads related to maintaining & scheduling of parallel sequence in Routing as well as Production Order.
For the example, I have 3 operations : 0010,0020 & 0030.
I want to maintain 0020 & 0030 as Parallel Operations ( Parallel Sequence) i.e. for both operations I have maintained same lead times so that both should start & end at same time parallely.
First of all, I have maintained all operations in standard sequence 0 all 0010,0020 & 0030 operations and also maintained tick in Required splitting check box.
Same way , I have maintained operations 0020 & 0030 in Parallel sequence with branching operation as 0020 & Return operation as 0030. Ref. sequence i have maintained as 0 (Std. Sequence).
Now when I am checking in Graphic it is not showing both operation 0020 & 0030 as parallely scheduled and hence same is not reflected in Production ORder as well.
Kindly share your valuable views reg. what may be other settings for parallel sequence which I may be missing.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Tejas

Hi Abhijt,
Thanks for your reply. I went through your thread & I followed same steps as mentioned by you in your suggested threads.
I have removed Parallel sequence fully & maintained Required Overlapping for all my 3 operations : 0010,0020 & 0030
I have maintained workcenters as below :
0010 A  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
0020 B  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
0030 A  Set up 2.0 Hrs   Machine 5.0 Hrs   Labour 1.0 Hr
I checked scheduling in routing itself same way you suggested with start date today's date & forward scheduling it gives following results :
0010 start time 07:00:00
0020 start time 07:13:42
0030 start time 09:14:39
My concern is with mainly start time of operations 0010 & 0020 since for both of these are processed on different workcenters A & B respectively then why not starting exactly on same time on 07:00:00 AM only instead another operation is starting on 07:13:42AM. I am unable to find how this difference of 13mins 42 seconds is coming.
Kindly provide your feedback. Also let me know if you need any more details.

Tejas

  • Parallel sequence in routing

    Hi all,
    I have defined a parallel sequence in routing linked to standard sequence. i.e. 0
    Stand. seq. has one operation 0010 (work center L1)
    Parallel sequence has 3 operations 10, 20 and 30. I am trying to make 10 (work center L4) and 20( WC L5) as parallel operations.
    I have 2 quesries regarding this.
    1. I am putting branch operation as 10 and return operation as 20 but I am getting error,
    'The return operation is not defined'
    2. I want this sequence to get selected in production order automatically in as operations but system ia selecting main seq i.e. with operation with WC = L1.
    Let me know if I am missing something, concept wise or setting wise.
    Regards,
    Yogesh

    Hi,
    Your first question:
    You cannot have return operation as 20, as you standard sequence has only operation 10. So your branch operation and return operation has to be 10.
    Your Second Question:
    In the production order go to Sequence overview (Shift+F8) to select the sequence and then go to Operation Overview (F5) to look into the details of the operation.

  • Sequence Selection in Production Order

    Hi All,
    I am having following problem related to the sequence selected in production order...
    In my scenario there are multiple sequences in a routing for a material.In the production Order Type I have made setting of manual selection of sequence while creation of production order.When I create production order the system ask for selection of the alternate sequence and after selecting the alternate sequence the system copies all the data related to that sequence <b>But</b> when I go and see the operation overview the system still displays the standard sequence. How can I correct this problem because when I am doing confirmation the system throws error message than the standard sequence 0 does not exist.
    Please help me correct this problem.
    Regards,
    Anup Dubey

    Hi,
    As i have mentioned the system is asking me select alternate sequence it means that the tick is there.
    Please lemme know why the system is displaying the standard sequenec in operation overview though all the details related to operation are of alternate sequence.

  • Reprint one sequence of a production order?

    Hello,
    Our shop papers for production order are separated by sequence.  Occasionally we will change one sequence on the routing and want to reprint it or the shop loses the papers for one sequence and we want to reprint just that sequence.
    We don't want to reprint the entire production order because it is a waste of time, paper, etc.
    Is there a way to reprint just one sequence of a production order?
    Thanks,
    Timothy

    Hi,
    I believe you can use the FM I_CHANGE_STATUS to update the status..
    where JEST-OBJNR = AUFK-OBJNR

  • Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders

    Hi All,
             when i convert the planned order to production order  i got this massage popup coming  Scheduling parameters are not defined for production orders . please let me know this .

    Hi,
    One of major customization steps for the order type is missing. Run OPU3 and maintain settings for the order type you are using. You may copy settings from an older type.

  • Error in schedulinq parallel sequences with flow production operations

    We have a routing with a standard sequence with operations in wich we have set "Continuous flow prod"
    and "Min. Send-Ahead Qty=1".
    We have a parallel sequence as well with operations set in the same way "Continuous flow prod"
    and "Min. Send-Ahead Qty=1".
    When you run the transaction "MD11" to create a planned order for the item the scheduling of the operations is correct
    as regard the standard sequence,the system, correctly,  schedules the operations overlapping
    them according to lead time set in the operation details.
    But the last operation of the parallel sequence is scheduled to finish the whole lot before the operation
    following the "return operation" . The system doesn't overlap this operation. In this way the
    last item of the last operation (in the parallel sequence) isn't finished at the same time
    with the last item of the "return operation" (in the standard sequence) as we like it would be.
    We have set "Backwards scheduling" type on customizing and we use the "Alignment key= 2 "
    for standard sequence and in the parallel as well. We have also tryed to set "Alignment key= 1"
    in the parallel sequence but the results are howewer not correct.
    In conclusion the schedulation of  continuous flow production operations
    doesn't work properly between operations belonging to parallel sequences.
    Could you suggest me what to do?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
      I tried with 5 ops 10, 20, 30 ,40,50 ( same work center  wc1)
      Set up time 1, Process time 1min for 1 pc
      set the continuous flow prodn i at op 20 with min send ahead qty 1
      Also a parallel seq was created with 3 ops op20 ,30 , 40 .
      set up time was 2 min for all work centers( same work center wc2) and proc time
      time is 1 min for  1 pc
      In that set the  continuous flow prodn at op 20 with min send ahead qty 1
      sceduling type was forward
    .Alignment key was 2 for both std seq and parallel seq .
      After scheduling found that op 20 in std seq starts at 6.14am and op 40 ends
      at 6.47 am where as in parallel seq op 20 starts at 6.11 am and op 40 ends at
      at 6.47 am which is correct.( branch op is 20 and return op is  40)
      The three minutes late start in op 20 of std seq  is due to 3 minutes extra time
      defined for three  work centers setup time.
      I also tried with alignment key 1in both std seq and parellel seq.
    Kindly check that you have maintained the continous flow prodn radio button
    in the same operation in both std seq and parallel seq.

  • Sales Order Schedule line not populating in the Production order

    Queation: Is there a way to tell the system to look at the sales order, line item AND schedule line. It is displayed in MD04 but it doesn't carry over to the Production Order. We are a MTO and this information is relevant in a number of ways.
    Please Help.

    Vickie,
    If you are using MTO scenario then when you run the MRP for the material, it will create a planned order for that sales order based on the dates calculated from the sales order schedule line (Shipping tab)...
    So now when you convert the planned order to production order, all the sales order details will get copied.
    try and revert back.

  • Despatch sequence error msg- production order

    Dear All,
    While creating production order, error message is executing "Dispatching sequence: Structure KBED is not currently supported" . Message no - 831 , Application area - CY. Plz clear me why this message is executing.
    Rgds,
    Rajesh

    Dear Pradeep,
    As per ur suggestion i had checked the OPJK transaction result is without mention error. One more thing want tell u i have assigned overall profile SAPSFCG013, but in config in capacity requirement>Evaluation>profile>Overall profile , with this path i checked the assign profile which is not maintianed in profile. This profile i assign as STD requirements. But same is given in drop down of OPJK capacity overall profile.
    But one more query, with the same order type and plant when m checking for another materials it is not giving any error. This error is executing for only one material. so what is the reason?
    Plz suggest any solution.

  • Link from scheduling agreement line to original demand production order

    Hi all,
    I'm wondering if there is a definitive link between a scheduling agreement schedule line and the production order that caused MRP to generate the schedule line?
    I need to build a report which looks at material availability for a production order and extends to also see if the required JIT/JIS lines are on an inbound delivery (ASN) or not. To do this I need to know which JIT/JIS lines relate to which production order.
    Thanks,
    Mark.

    Hi Mark,
    Such a link exists only in MAKE-TO-ORDER and MAKE-TO-PROJECT (individual planning) scenarios.
    If this is not your case, pegging is dynamic. You can see a similar report to what you are looking for in standard SAP "order report", which will show you all the supply situation to a ProdOrd (even multi level).

  • Deletion of Serial numbers/ Parallel sequences from production order

    HI ,
    I am trying to delete the Serial numbers from the production order programatically using the FM SERNR_DEL_FROM_PP. I dont get any error , but the serial number is not getting deleted from production order. If anyone have used this FM for deletion Please let me know what extra has to be done.
    Similarly i have a requirement or deletion of parallel sequence from the production order. Any FM to do the same?
    Code screenshot below
    CALL FUNCTION 'SERNR_DEL_FROM_PP'
           EXPORTING
                material              = i_matnr
                j_vorgang             = 'PMP2'
                ppaufnr               = i_paufnr
                ppposnr               = i_itemno
           IMPORTING
                anzsn                 = l_num_serno
                ZEILEN_ID             =
               SERIAL_COMMIT         =
           TABLES
                sernos                = gt_sernos
           EXCEPTIONS
                serialnumber_errors   = 1
                serialnumber_warnings = 2
                OTHERS                = 3.
      DATA ls_afpod_po TYPE afpod.
      MOVE-CORRESPONDING gs_afpod_po TO ls_afpod_po.
    *.....Update Number of serial numbers in parent order
      ls_afpod_po-anzsn = l_num_serno.
      update afpo
      set anzsn = l_num_serno
      where aufnr = i_paufnr and
            posnr = i_itemno.
      commit work AND WAIT.

    Hello,
    the function module SERNR_DEL_FROM_PP calls the function module SERNR_DEL_FROM_DOCUMENT within. There, the changes are only written into the memory.
    See also the code below:
    CALL FUNCTION 'STATUS_BUFFER_EXPORT_TO_MEMORY'             "P99K058111
            EXPORTING                                             "P99K058111
                 I_MEMORY_ID = MEMID_STATUS.                      "P99K058111
    The variable memid_status has the value 'SN_STATS'.
    So if you want to update the data, you have to call the following function module:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SERIAL_LISTE_POST_PP'
      EXPORTING
        MEMORY_ID_STATUS       = 'SN_STATS'

  • Production Order not printing with Parallel Sequence ?

    Hi All,
    User is unable to print Prod. Orders when Parallel Sequence is used, but Orders using Standard Sequence are printing fine.
    Print is done in Update Task, so User is able to release the Order and when he saves the Order, the Order should get printed.
    Currently this is not happening. There is no spool generated.
    Can anyone please tell me the printer configuration required for this. Or any other configuration which we are missing.
    Thanks,
    Bhuvan

    Dear Bhuvan,
    I'm not sure if this is the issue,at a high level,check if the control key assigned to the operations in the
    parallel sequence supports for Printing in General(check box set).

  • Parallel Sequencing of Production between different resources

    Hi all,
    I want to consider the way to produce a product in parallel with other resources if available and cost efficient. ( Parallel sequencing of the production between resources)
    I have setup groups for products. Also resources (machines)
    every machine can do the same job (in different times)
    According to setup optimization it may be useful to produce all in one resource but if I need to catch the requirement date, I have to parallelize the work.
    Is there any way in SCM like (parallel sequencing in R/3) that takes us to a more feasible solution?

    Hi Mehmet,
    In R/3, in the operation of routing, we can give "split" number .  It can split one operation into several splits during scheduling or capacity leveling so that total execution time will be reduced accordingly.
    But when you transfer such operation with split number, the activity duration will be automatically calculated by using machine time divided by split number.
    However in PPDS, there is split function. I'm not sure if it is what you want.

  • Parallel sequence - scheduling operation

    Hi,
    when I was creating parallel sequence in routing I was faced with problem in scheduling operation.
    After making a routing with parallel sequence, which are executing on the others work centers, system doesn't take into consideration the fact that order is divided on for example two work centers ( parallel sequence ! ).
    How to divide the time of operations for equal parts ( or different proportion ) in two work centers.
    Please help me solvede this problem.
    Artur

    Artur,
    The logic of parallel sequence is bit different from what you expect.
    The parallel sequence is the sequence of operations which runs parellel to main sequnce.
    But you can use it to serve your purpose.
    After creating the parallel sequence in the routing, select the standard sequence, click on operation.
    In operations overview, select the desired operations & follow path, 'Details'-- 'operations' or press F6.
    In the operation details screen, under 'Unit of measure conversion', maintain value against 'Header' as 1 & against 'Operation' as 0.5 (if you want to divide the value equally).
    Navigate with the arrows in the upper left & maintain these settings for the desired operation.
    Now click on 'Sequnces'.
    Select the parallel sequnce & repeat the above given procedure for the desired operations in the parallel sequences aslo.
    Now whenever the order will be created, the order quantity will be divided equally on the sequences & accordingly scheduling will yake place.
    Hope this helps you.

  • MRP-Delivery Schedule for Sales order is not updating in Production order

    Dear Experts,
    I have created Sales order and maintained delivery scheduling, Then Run MRP through MD50,
    We received Planned order then through this we have converted to Prodcution order.
    When we observe the delivery schedule for sales order under assignment Tab in Produciton order which is showing zero instead showing line item of Delivery schedule.
    I am able to see Sales order and Line item but i am not abel to get any delivery schedule line item.
    Please suggest where settings are missing.
    Thanks in advance

    Dear Experts,
    Please provide me solution.
    after Running MD50 transaction against Sales order.
    If I maintained different Scheduling Line Item for First Line item of Sales order.
    The Respective Scheduling Lines should update against Each Production order which has converted from Planned order.
    Thanks in advance.
