Scheduling options in datapackage

Hi all,
in a data manager package, users have the option to select wether to run the package now, schedule it, or run it no and schedule it. Is it possible to disable this selection in a datapackage? And if yes, how do I do this?

As to this problem, I am not sure.
I think you could try to copy this standard data package, dtsx file, and then modify it, perhaps you can disable this option when you edit data package.

SPM 2.1 Scheduling Option - Daily. How can I control when during the day?

Hi All,
I understand that when you enable the "scheduling" option in the report, the report runs in the background and this caches the data to table opmdm_precalc_a.
You can set scheduling to daily or weekly runs. The weekly load can be set in the "Application Properties" menu e.g. to Sunday.
If I chose "daily", what time is it run then? The same time as the alert in "Application Properties"?
I've had a quick look at OPM* and RSXA* tables but couldnt see anything obvious as a clue.

Yes, you are right. The time of execution is the same as the one for alerts.

11g BI Publisher Report - Disable Schedule option

Hi,
Currently we have moved our BI Publisher catalog objects to the BI catalog and security is controlled through the web catalog for the BI publisher reports also.
As part of it, we have given 'Read' only access to the BI publisher report and the user do not see any 'Edit' option.
But the issue is that he is able to schedule the reports.
Is there a way to disable that 'schedule' option?

from the catalog manager or from analytics url select the folder under which u have bipublisher reports and then click on permissions for the entire folder or for the report and then select custom it will show u list of options like create,delete,run,schedule,view,etc so take out(uncheck) that schedule option thats it

Infopackages and IPG--- Scheduling Options

Hi, BI Experts
Suppose there is a infopackage with a specified after event in its scheduling options and may be with some subsequent process.
And this infopackage is also scheduled through IPG (or Process Chain) -
immediate start at particular time i.e. it should start at particular time.
Then What will happen in IPG (or Process Chain) when scheduled time comes.
Will it wait for the after event present in scheduling options of infopackage or it will directly start the infopackage as on time of IPG (or Process Chain) .
Please explain in detail and also explain concepts may b related to this.

Settings in Process chain takes effects. Process chain settings overwrites infopackage settings.
P.S : Its advisable to use different infopackages.

Schedule option is grayed out

I am trying to schedule a workbook which has been shared to my username, but the schedule option in File-> Schedule has been grayed out. what are the steps to grant privileges for scheduling a workbook ?

Hi,
In order to schedule you need to have the privileges to run schedule.
This can be done using the Discoverer administrator tool,
After log in (doesn't matter the BA you choose to open) go to the menu to tools-> privileges
or use the shortcut (ctrl+P).
Search for the user name you want to give the privileges to and set the check box for schedule workbooks.
Now try to log in to PLUS or DESKTOP and try to schedule

Process chain scheduling options

Hi Experts ,
whats the diffrence of Direct scheduling and Start using Metachain or API .
here the scenerio i have one metachain in that i have 4 local chains .

Direct Scheduling: When you activate the process chain the start process is scheduled in the background, as defined in your selections.
Start using Meta Chain or API:
Using API :You can use the SAP NetWeaver Scheduling Framework to start the chain and to have more extensive scheduling options.
Using Meta Chain :A metachain is a process chain, for which you determine this start condition, that is fixed to another process chain. The process chain is started directly by this metachain.If you start the start process using a metachain, it is not scheduled after you have activated the related process chain. The process chain is only started when the metachain, to which it is linked, is running.
Try the below points for your issue:
1. Let the settings for your Meta Chain be 'Direct Scheduling' > Change Selections> Choose required Date/Time. You may also Check Periodic Job and set Periodic Values if required.
2. Now coming to your Local chain 1 > Schedule even this with 'Direct Scheduling' > Change Selections > Check the Immediate start option> Uncheck the Periodic Job Option > Save.
3. Follow step 2 even for your Local chain 2.
4. Now schedule your Meta Chain, it should run fine.
5. You may even set your Meta Chain to run 'Immediate', but you have to trigger it manually everytime.

Scheduling Options under Routing

I would like to know if we can input Resource Offset % and if the system will honour it correctly. As per standard functionality the system automatically calculates both Lead time % and Offset % on selecting Compute Lead.
The Given scenario is to initiate the second operation at 50% completion of the first operation. Suppose if my manufacturing lead time is 3 days with 3 operations, then the system will always schedule the second operation on 2nd day but in practice I want to schedule the same on the very first day.
I understand that with scheduling options like 'Next' or 'Prior', I can start the operations in parallel but that is not what I intend to do.

Try this out:
Try to change the settings of Scheduling options of IP Group by removing already background job in use.You can do this by cilciking on STOP button.
Also Check whether you have authorization to execute Jobs.

Things to do while scheduling option in Excelcius

Hi
We are going to use schedule option with Live Office connectivity
,through Webi Reports.
Now I want to know what things need to be done.
First thing is that in Data Manager Connections Usage Tab
do we have to tick Refresh before Components are Loaded.
and in Live Office connections of all the webi reports
i.e In Live Office Object Properties under Refresh Tab do we have to change the refresh setting from ON Demand to
Use report Saved Data from Saved Data report.
Do I have to tick both these options or any one of them

We are using latest instance i.e scheduling in webi and dashboard using latest instance of that webi report.
so under usage tab we are selecting option of Refresh before components are loaded.

Infoview Schedule option

Is there a way to hide database logon information from Infoview Schedule option? I do not want users to use this when they schedule the report.
The report will run successfully if the users do not enter any database information in there but if they enter some "junk"information in there then the report will fail.

The out of the box Infoview does not supply a means to abstract that portion of the scheduling menu items. Although there are means of customizing Infoview, it is neither supported nor recommended. Aside from losing any customization when an update or upgrade is done, there is a high risk of rendering the system inoperable which could be a very costly factor in the long run. Ideally, the best course of action is to properly educate the end users as to what is allowed to be changed. There are only limited times when an end user would need to supply database information. One being that the login credentials are intentially left blenk so the user MUST logon to the database.
A valid option that I can endorse is to use the various SDK(s) available to promote a simple means of scheduling a report to your end users. You have not indicated whether you are using the .NET or JAVA version of Infoview, but it is possible to schedule reports via a web application that would not display the database menu items.

I have created a Process Chain which is scheduled for Immediate processing.
I have to transport the Process Chain to Production System, where the process chain should run Daily. So should I change the schedule options before transporting or should the schedule options be changed in Production system.

After importing into Production, it will not be triggered automatically. We need to exexute it in production manually.
We have option to change the System settings ,to change the Process chain in Production.So that we can change the schedule options as per our requirements directly in Production. This setting is there in Trasnport connector screen.And this needs to be done in Production.

MC75 - background schedule option not available

Hi
i got a requirement to schedule the tcode MC75 in background mode. But SAP has not given the option in the menu bar -> execute in background option like the tcode MD74.
Even the save button is disabled in the tcode MC75 hence not possible to save like a variant.
I found a SAP notes relevant to that. The note no is 381061. But i am not able to implement the note in my system. I tried to customize the program by copying to zprogram using the code correction given In sap notes 381061. But could not find relevant to background scheduling.
Can any one tell me how to customize the tcode for background scheduling.

Scheduling Options(CMC)/ Business Objects Xir2

Environment spec:
Aix 5.3
Business Objects Xir2
Crystal reports Xi
DB2
Tomcat
Whilst scheduling a report from the CMC, there is a 'Schedule For' tab
I am trying to determine how this option works, whilst scheduling for a selected group/users.
I have reviewed the relevant documentation in the Business Objects Administrators guides in reference to this including Xi, XiR2 and XiR3/3.1.
There is no clear definition.
I asked this question, as we are trying to determine if whilst using this option does BO execute the query and then filter data according to each group/user OR execute the query for each specific user/group. If the latter is the case then this will have a big impact on our environment resources.
unfortunately we have reach EOL for Business Objects XiR2 so tech support will no longer advise us.
If anyone can provide us with any insight or direction this will be greatly appreciated

Option u2018Schedule foru2019 is generally used when you want schedule the reports on behalf of other users such that when underlying queries hit the database, they use the useru2019s id and pull the data based on his authorization over the data.
With SAP BW as backend, the impact can easily be seen where a report will show different dataset if run for two different sap user who different data access. Same should be the case with other databases as well.

COHV Scheduling option 5 "5. Set date to date for total commitme.."

Dear gurus,
i run atp check for the component of the production order .
For a component the "Committed Date" is 12.4.2014.
When we run the scheduling of the production order whit the thansaciotn COHV option 5 (5. Set date to date for total commitment
The date for total commitment is taken from the availability check. selection is only offered for the end date.) the system don't must be move the committed date 12.4.2014 in the finisch basic date?
How i can rescheduling the production order considering the committed date of the component ?

Missing schedule option on Infoview

Hi,
I've created a webi doc and when it shows up in infoview i don't have the option to schedule it. Within the same folder I have created another report with the option. All I see is modify and properties. I know I'm missing something simple. Can anybody point me in the right direction whether it is an answer or documentation? I'm very new to business objects. I've searched the forums and google with no luck.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'm using BO XI R2. I haven't done any customization as I've only been working on the product for 2 weeks so I'm very green to it. I'm taking over for another person. The strange thing is last week I was able to create a report that can be scheduled and this week I can. Both reports use the same universe.

Task Scheduler Options

Hey guys,
I have a simple script to create multiple scheduled tasks, but am curious if there is a way to add in the option to select the "Run with highest privileges" and also the "Start In" path under the Actions tab.
This is what we are using to create the scripts, but it would be nice to not have to go back in and select/input those options.
schtasks /create /ru %domain%\administrator /RP ******** /SC DAILY /TN Midday-SFTP /TR D:\NS5\6.2.1-GA\Standard\scripts\Midday-SFTP.cmd /ST 19:00

one piece of advice: The first target I'd ask when trying to figure out how a command works, is the command itself:
schtasks /create /?
Reading this text (quite a bit, I admit) will direkt you to the /RL Parameter and its usage.
I don't see how you can change the Start-In path using schtasks, however you could ...
a) Write the path into the script
b) Pass the path to the script as parameter
c) Write the task as an xml file and pass the XML definition to schtasks (You can export a task as XML from the task-scheduler)
