Scheduling period - IP30

Hi All
My scheduling period in maintenance plan is 365 days.
I have the monthly plan.
I am doing IP30, so that it generates 12 work orders.
I am not indending to change anything for the next 10 years in the maintenance plan.
My question is will the system stop generating work order after 365 days.
If yes, should i put 10 years in scheduling period of maintenance plan to generate work orders with IP30
or any other solution, your comments please..

Hi,
You do not need to put 10 years in the scheduling period. The scheduling period specifies how far in advance the maintenance calls are generated. You would not normally want to create the calls for the next 10 years.
The current setting of 365 days will ensure that every time you schedule the plan, all calls for the next year are generated. If you schedule the plan this month all calls due in next 365 days are called. If you schedule the plan in June 2012, all calls due up to June 2013 will be generated.

For your conditions
1. No Scheduling period
2, No Completion Requirement
After initial scheduling (IP10), depending on the cycle period (1 Mon, 1Yr etc).,
Whenever you run IP30, one call will be generated, if the plan date falls in the past. If the Plan date falls in the future a Scheduled hold line item will be seen in IP30, further no impact of IP30 will be seen, until this Hold item is called.

How to schedule perioding BG job after job

My requirement is i need to schedule periodic job on daily basis, suppose i have 2 jobs A and B...then i need to start job B only and only if job A is finished..
Can you please guide me..

You cannot specify a job as "periodic" if it is scheduled to start after a job. Refer [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/20/2d513897110872e10000009b38f889/content.htm]
You can achieve in 2 ways:
1. Create a single job & define 2 steps.
2. Use SAP Event to trigger the second job. At the end of the first job raise an event which will trigger the first job.

upto my knowledge i think it is not possible to have your fields mandatory in maintenance plan,you think of using Tcode SHD0 which is used for Transaction and screen variants

Scheduling period in Maintenance plan

If I enter scheduling period 365 days & my cycle is 3 months.Once I schedule the maintenance plan, in IP10 I can see planned date only upto 365 days.How can I populate the planned date after crossing 365 days ?

Hello Rajib,
You are getting planned dates for one 365 days because you have entered 365 days as the scheduling period. If you want to have the same for say 5 years, then first change the unit of scheduling period to 'YR' and make scheduling period as '5'. Then schedule the plan and see the planned dates for next 5 years. Maximum you can do ti for 999 YR.
You may choose unit as Week or month also.
It is recommended to use IP19, setting With Further Dates. flag.

I want to revoke rights so users cannot schedule periodic jobs

We do encourage users to run reports in Background but we want to prevent them from scheduling periodic jobs.
We want to have more controll over periodic jobs as we observed that users schedule them and then forget about them.
Morover this has become our audit recommendation.
As far as I can see there is no standard way to do it.
Has anyone managed to achieve it?

A job is eligible to start when both of the following are true:
The start condition specified for the job is met.
The job has been released to run.
No job can be run until it has been released, even those scheduled to start immediately. To monitor and control what jobs are submitted to run in background processing, the system can be configured so an administrator can check jobs before releasing them to run.
The release requirement can also be turned off on a per-user basis. Trusted users can be given a special authorization (authorization object S_BTCH_JOB (Batch Processing: Operations on Batch Jobs), value RELE) which will automatically and immediately release any job scheduled by that user.

Change billing date for first scheduling period in VA41

Hi,
Requirment: At the time of Contract creation, the first scheduling period amount will be compared to a fixed threshold value. If it is less than that threshold value then change its billing date to next schedule period's billing date.
I have tried so many user-exits but hey are not triggered at the required point of time.
As soon as we create the contract the dates will be changed accordinly.
Also do we have any function module to change date if we make a Z program.

When MIGO received PO, how to link the PO Delivery Schedule period?

I want get the PO Delivery Schedule of this schedule period received date. But in EKET only Delivery Date, Not have MKPF posting date. In EKBE, have posting date, But when EKET have some items, how to get the correct period posting date.

you need to join EKBE and EKET table. with the help of ABAP team.
the reason behind is EKBE is History per Purchasing Document
where as EKET is Scheduling Agreement Schedule Lines
or if you have authorization then create query on your own by Tcode SQVI.

Schedule periodic Dunning job in SAP

When i execute the program: RF150SMS
I am getting the message:
Dunning run 08/04/2009 DUNNI for template not found
Message no. FM016
I am not sure If i am executing the correct program
Could you please tell how would it be possible to schedule a periodic job for printing dunning ?
Or Any advise on how to schedule the dunning job in SAP

U don't need to schedule a server proxy ...as the proxy will kick in automatically as soon as the message is processed by file adapter .
Since yours is File to proxy scenario...
and you want to execute it overnight ..
You will have to control when the file is processed by XI file adapter.
Here what you can do ..
Let's just say your file gets placed in a Folder 'A' ...and your file communication channel is configured to pick files from folder B.
Write an abap code on xi box ..(or you can use a V.B. script)
which will move the file from folder A to Folder B.This code can easily be scheduled..so that it you can get files in folder B from where XI processig will kick in .
(job scheduling can be done sm36 ..use the wizard)

Auto schedule + Periodic Invoker

I have a small problem for which i'm looking for some easy solution. The problem is that I have a java program that should be invoked by the cron scheduler once on a daily basis.
Now once the program is automatically invoked, i have a logic that tests if certain third-party activity has finished working or not (get a response flag). In-case, if that avtivity is finished then my program proceeds and do its main task. And in-case if that third-party activity is not finished then I want my program to wait until it is finihsed and then do its main task.
So could there be any solution through which my logic for invoking third-party activity is made periodic (in case if the first attempt to thrid-party activity returns not finished flag), without re-invoking the scheduler?
Once the thrid-party activity returns a finished flag, then the periodic invoker should break and my program should proceed with its rest of the work and then finally exit.
Any small mock code example shall be highlly appreciated.

You are have understood it correctly, but a normal
loop (while) is not a good idea as the thrid-party
activity can take more than an hour to finish its
task and during that time i dont want my program to
constantly asking the thrid-party whether it has
finished its task or not. The calls to the third
party should be periodic e.g. after every 30 mins or
so.So put in a Thread.sleep(30 * 1000 * 60) call in the loop to make it sleep for 30 minutes before it checks again.
i want my program to be in the sleep mode until it
gets a flag (finished) from the thrd party.Unless you can tell the 3rd party app to notify you somehow, you're stuck with polling it.

Schedul periodic jobs in SM36

HI All,
I have a requirement like this;
Two background jobs are to be scheduled, Job A, Job B. Both jobs will run daily.
Job A will run at 8pm, and job B will run after completion of Job A.
Through SM36 I have scheduled job A to run at 8pm, periodic, daily and Job B after job A.
This is not working, as Job A is running daily at 8 but Job B has ran only on the day when I scheduled it.
Job B is not running daily after Job A completes.
Please suggest.

Create a event for job A and give the event name in the After event of Job B.
This will make the job B to run after the job A .

Scheduling periodic background jobs with changing parameters

Greetings,
I am wondering if anyone knows a way to do the following:
Say I have a report that I want to schedule in the background to run at the end of every month. Is there a way to set up the jobs to use different parameters (dates, etc.) each month without creating a variant for each month and scheduling the jobs separately? I hope that I am being clear in this question.
Another example would be if I wanted to run the report each day for the previous day. As you can see, it would be quite tedious to create a variant and manually scheduled job for each day.

Yes, when setting up your variant, you can pull in "dynamic" variants.
At your selection screen, click go to, variants, save as variant. Name it and give description.
Now for you particular field, check the "selection variable" check box for that field. Now at the top of the screen, click the selection variable button. This will take you to a new screen. Here you can choose to get the variable from the TVARV table, use a dynamic date calculation, or user defined.
In the case where you want to run for yesterday. Double click the icon under the "D", now click the down error. Double click current date -/+ ???, enter the -1. Now click save. This variant will now always take sy-datum - 1 and put it into that field.
Now for your monthly report. What we do here is we have variables set up in the TVARV table, which include current fiscal month, current calendar month, previous fiscal month, and so on. We run a program which re-calculates these variables everyday so that they are always accurate. You can set up the selection variable to use the table variable from TVARV. You would do this the same way as the dynamic date calc except click on the icon under the "T".

Solution Manager - ChaRM question - Scheduling periodic transports

We have a requirement to schedule transports to QAS at every 15 minutes. In the schedule manager, I don't see the option for specifying the time in hours or minutes. The minimum is a day. We tried to schedule the job through SM36 with program, /TMWFLOW/SCMA_TRORDER_IMPORT. It's just running,but not importing the transports. Any guidance is appreciated

First time scheduling using IP30 for Multiple Counter plan

Hi,
I created a multiple counter plan with Cycle set as 6months/ 300 Operations.
I intend to start the job early and updated the Planned Counter date as 1st Sep 2014.I maintained Lead Float as 10 days.
When I run IP10, call is generated successfully. But when I execute IP30, no call is generated.
We have not activated enhanced functionality of Multiple Counter plans.
I checked all the parameters and everything seemd to be fine. In IP30, I checked the check boxes - Rescheduling & Immediate start of all.
In the field, Interval for Call Objects, I ran with blank value, 30 days value. But in both the cases, call is not generated.
I want to generate calls using IP30 only as there are lot of multiple counter plans. Can anybody suggest a solution to this issue?

I have read many threads about IP30 but still I am posting this thread so really sorry for that.
I have create Counter base maintenance plan with
call horizon 100%
Cycle / Unit = 300H
scheduling period = blank
start of counter = 1h ( Total counter is also 1h)
Then I have done IP30 with Interval for Call Objects is blank. So Maintenance call is on hold with due date. So far so good.
Now I record measurement documents through IK11 and reading is 300. So my maintenance call must be called.
If you go in IP10 then i found that Maintenance call is in New start Save to call status WHY?
In SM37, against the job spool is generated but it is in a WAITING status and my job is finished , if you click on WAITING status it shows Frontend unavailable.
What am i missing? Is there any issue with BASIS?

No I am not running IP30 after entered 305h. Why i need to do IP30 after entering 305h? Because technically I am doing IP30 after entering initial 1h. I am getting call if I am doing IP30 after 305h.
It may be the case that my counter will reach 300h which is cycle / unit after 1 year so at that point of time my call is generated automatically rite? No need to do IP30. This is the standard functionality of performance base maintenance plan and IP30.
Please correct me if i am wrong.
