Scheduling Report through InfoView - Destination Email

My question pertains to InfoView in Crystal Report Server 2008.  I am trying to set up a scheduled report to run once, and be emailed as a pdf to my own email address.  I am using the administrator account and can successfully do this through the CMC, but when I try to schedule the report through InfoView, the destination always reverts back to the Inbox destination rather than the email destination.  The job has a successful status, but the destination is always the Inbox.
I am fairly confident my job servers are set up with the proper SMTP information since I am successful when trying this through the CMC and I am setting everything the same through InfoView.
Any ideas?

Hello,
This is Crystal Report Server 2008 and I guess Business Objects Enterprise 3.0.
When scheduling a report through InfoView I do the following:
Recurrence - Now
Format - I choose PDF, although it doesn't really matter for the problem I am having.
Destination - I choose email from the dropdown, there is no checkbox to ignore the defaults.  I have to input my own information.  I populate the From, To, and Subject boxes.  I also choose to have an attachment sent.
I click the Schedule button and I am taken to the History window.  The job has a status of Running.  I choose refresh and the job completes with a status of Success.  However, when I click the status and the Instance Details are shown, the external destination line reads as Inbox and no email is delivered.  The report is delivered to the InfoView user's inbox, but not in an email as I selected.
This process works when performed through the CMC, but not through InfoView.

  • Printing crystal report through infoview in CRS XI R2

    Hi ,
We are using the crystal report server xi 2 version on windows. I have my reports published and am trying to schedule them through infoview to print to a particular printer which is my default printer.
When i set the printer settings manually by typing out a printer name , it is printing it out but how can i enable it to take the default printer on my machine without having to type it in every time which is cumbersome?
Currently we are using CR 8.5 on VB and it uses DLL files to print reports and it prints to the default server without any problems and does not ask user for the default printer also. We want to achive this kind of a interface through CR XI R2 infoview.
    Thanks, NGK

    Hi All,
I would like to know how to schedule a  Webi (infoview) report of Bussiness Objects XI Release2    through Command line , Not through CMS.
    Command line options
    1. To schedule a report from CMS but using a command line. What all parameters are needed in order to do this ?
    2. To stop/reschedule a report being refreshed/running at this moment. What all parameters are needed in order to do this ?

Did you have any luck finding out how to do this ?   We would like to trigger reports from the command line on demand. (or via an API is fine too)
    Thanks,

  • Performance Issue while access reports through Infoview.

Users run reports( Webi ,Crystal ) through Infoview u2013 Accessed by Categories  , while navigating between categories( we have different categories : Sales, Purchasing..Etc ) in the Infoview is fine ,it  takes time to show all the reports within the categories ,which  takes  around 3 u2013 5 mins , but run time of the each reports are quick and as expected.
In CMS , while navigating between categories and time taken to show all the reports within the categories are fine . couldnu2019t not understand why this is happening in infoview only.
Would like to know if any one have similar issues. Is there any settings needs to made on the tomcat server or CMS or Infoview. Searched for OSS notes and found a note : 1206095 but it is for Enterprise XI release2.
    Product Details :
    BOE XI3.1 SP3 .
    Any info will be helpfull.

    Hello,
    - Is Tomcat installed on the same server as BOE?  If not, did you use wdeploy to deploy the WAR files? https://bosap-support.wdf.sap.corp/sap/support/notes/1325139
    - Do you have more than one Tomcat server,  and is it fronted by a load balancer.  If it is, try bypassing the load balancer and access InfoView directly without going thru the load balancer.
There is a CMS command-line options that might help you improving performances in your environment.
That switch is named -maxobjectsincache which allows you to increase the maximum number of objects that the CMS stores in its memory cache. Increaseing the number of objects reduces the number of databases calls required and can improve CMS performance.
The default value for this option is 10000 and the maximum value is 100000.  Please keep in mind it is not recommended to exceed 100,000 as too many objects in memory will result in the CMS degradation.  I would suggest testing with 60,000.

  • Cancel A Scheduled report from Infoview/Application

    Hi,
Is it possible to cancel the schedule of a crystal report which is deployed on crystal report server?
In crystal report Server XI, there is an option to reschedule the report and replace the existing schedule. However there is no option to cancel the schedule of a report forever.

Retrieve the InfoObject for that scheduled instance, and invoke InfoObject.DeleteNow.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

  • Schedule reports - Email config

Can somebody provide me the steps for enable schedule report options and the email configuration.
Would Email,SMTP configuration enable us to schedule reports provided we have permissions assigned ?
Please provide any steps or configurations..Thanks..

    Hi John,
I have the SMTP address with the ports and we have our mail server.
As per admin guide, what would be the user for the destination ?
    User Name
Provide the Job Server with a user name that has permission to send email
and attachments through the SMTP server.
    Password
Provide the Job Server with the password for the SMTP server.
Can i just leave the user name and password so that the users email will be taken ?
Please refer to SAP Note 455140 to configure the SMTP plug-in to send emails. However there is no section in SAPconnect to enable you to add a user and password as a means of authentication. You will have to enter the IP address of your sending SAP application server to your mail server as a means of authentication to enable emails to be correctly relayed to your mail server.
    Hope this helps

  • Not able to schedule Webi and Crystal reports in Infoview

    Hi All,
We are using Business Objects XI 3.1.
I am not able to schedule reports in Infoview irrespective of the report type.
The Webi report throws the error "Bad Request(Invalid URL)" when I hit on the Format Destination section.
The Crystal report without prompt hangs when I hit schedule button and the report with prompt throws the error "An error has occurred:Invalid postback or callback argument."
Recently we installed the Fixpack 1.2 for XI 3.1.
    Thanks in Advance

  • Error on Running Full Client Reports on Infoview

    Post Author: AmitP
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
I'm running WebI 6.x on a system with the following environment
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 SP 1Business Objects 6.5 SP2Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 6.0
Whenever I try to run a fullclient(FC) report through Infoview, I see the following error 'A system error occurred. (Error: INF 00130) (65535)'
    I've checked the following -
1)Login user is a local administrator access on the system.2)Login user has been given 6 privileges through the 'Local Security Policy'. (Act as part of the operating system,Access this computer from the network, Logon as a batch job etc.)3)Password for the Login User was changed some time back, but has been updated using the 'Update Service Parameters' option on the   Configuration Tool.4)'BusinessObjects.document' was updated by giving all privileges to the login user, and selecting 'This User', and adding   the credentials of the Login User on the 'Identity' tab.5)bomain.key has the same name in the 'locdata' folder in <INSTALL FOLDER> -> <nodes> -> <servername> -> <clustername>
Is there any other check that needs to be done? Also, can I have a separate user for starting the BO WebI & Scheduler service?Where do I provide such an authentication?Kindly advice.
    Thanks,Amit.

You are running on Windows 9x or Me, right? The darn OS has 300 or so bytes allocated for environment by default.
Try setting the Initial environment to 4096 in the Properties|Memory tab for the batch file. That will get rid of "Out of environment space". The syntax error is another matter; Windows (except NT and derivatives) shells do not allow '=' in an environment variables value. You cannot overcome that. Some software (Sybase for instance) interprets # as = just because of that. Unfortunately, the JVM doesn't take such an approach.
Better, grab copies of Unix utilities for Windows (www.gnu.org) including the wonderful shell 'bash' and write .sh scripts, which are inherently more powerful.

  • Saving scheduled report in a Sharepoint document library

I am trying to schedule a crystal report through Infoview and I want the resulting report saved in a Sharepoint document library. Is this possible? I am using BOE 11.5

    Hi Maureen;
it is not possible...Because sharepoint document library is a virtual directory. You only save your files to real directories.
You must use SharePoint Integration Kit.

  • Scheduling Repot in InfoView - Dynamic Parameters.....

If I have some parameters set as dynamic and I try to schedule the report through InfoView....the login prompt appears.  I do not want my users to have to log in ever.
I have the database configuration set - To Use original database logon information from the report and To Use same database logon as when report is run.  When I view a report on-demand I don't get the prompt.
Does anyone know how I prevent the login prompt from appearing when a report is scheduled and has dynamic parameters?  We do not want our users to have SQL id's to the database - only Infoview logins.
Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi Lisa,
When you create a dynamic prompt in Crystal and save the report to enterprise a business view will be created in the repository automatically. This Business View will have a datasource associated with it (used to connect to and obtain the dynamic list of params from the DB).
It is on this datasource that you need to manually code the login details and select do not prompt at runtime. You can do this by using the Business View Manager Tool. Best practise for managed reports is to create your dynamic lists first in Business View Manager not Crystal and then present these to your report developers - this will give you some central control over the lists.
See Crystal Reports user guide/Business View administrator guide.
    Hope this helps.

  • Running a report in infoview

    Hello,
I have created a report using cr xi, based on a business view.  When I run the report using cr xi it works fine for any date range, but when I run the report through infoview based on date ranges longer than a few days I get the "an error has occured, report timed out" error message.
    Help!!

    Hi Selya,
Have you applied any service pack for BOXIR2?
Which reports are these WebI,DeskI, or Crystal Reports?
Which InfoView do you have .net or java?
Is the issue is viewer specific?
Is the issue is with all the report or single report?

    Hi Jörg,
we use simple server based batch scripts . These scripts use the functionality provided by the BPA Admin tool to perform different tasks. You can either start macros inside the tool or perform other tasks like backing up the DBs etc.
This is a very simple by proven way to automate server based activities. We use this since the old ARIS days

  • Variable dates for a scheduling report

    Hi,
My report query has "between..and" date clause in WHERE condition.
I am planning to use the same report to schedule daily, weekly and monthly.
    1. If user schedule a report daily then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-1)
    2. If user schedule a report weekly then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-7).
    3. If user schedule a report monthly then query where clause should be
    trandate between sysdate - (sysdate-30).
How can we dynamically change the variable dates using Oracle reports using scheduler?
I thought of using lexical parameters but our users doesn't like to give any other values except scheduling report through scheduler.
    Please advise.

    Hi Prasad,
By Scheduler probably you mean the Reports Queue Manager. If you use the Reports QM, you may not be able to access the scheduling parameters in your report / query.
However, you can design a simple HTML parameter form where the user will have 3 values in the drop-down (daily, weekly, monthly). Depending on what is selected, you can construct a reports command line where you pass BOTH
    schedule=.....
    and
    p_where_clause=....
The "schedule" parameter will schedule the report in the server, while the other parameter "p_where_clause" will determine what to use in the report query. So the user makes only one selection and you pass both parameters based on the selection.
    Navneet.

  • Need a way to Hide the Destinations (FTP, Email...) when scheduling reports

We do not have destinations set up for FTP, email and unmanaged disk in our environment due to our stringent security requirements.  Even after being told these are not available, our users continue to try to schedule the report to go to these destinations and they are causing the reports to fail and utilize database resources for a report that will not complete successfully.
Does anyone know if there is a way to hide the destinations from users when they schedule reports?  I know this was an option a couple of versions back but I cannot find it in BOE XI3.1 SP3.  The only option we want our users to see is Inbox and their personal folders.
    Our environment is:
    Windows Server 2003 SP2
    Tomcat 5.5.30
    Java 1.6
    BOE XI 3.1 SP3 FP3.2
    Thanks.
    Rich

    Hi,
We can control distinations by configuring them on Respective Servers, which should be protected from business users.
Assuming that you wish to configure only email as destination for Crystal Reports,  then
Step 1 : Access properties of Server-> CrystalReportsJobServer
Step 2 : Choose only valid Desitnations that you wish to provide, In our case it is only eMail
Always go for cloning existing server if you are customization. Which is good practice than directly working on default server.
