Scheduling the crystal Reports

Hi all,
What is the use of Scheduling the Crystal Report?
In the document I saw the use of scheduling is to run the object automatically at specified times.
I want to Schedule that Crystal Report. For that I followed the following Steps.
Login into CMCApp.
Select the required rpt file. and clicked the Schedule.
It opens the Schedule Screen.
In that I have specified the Recurrence Parameter and Scheduled For.
It refreshes the data,only if I press the Refresh button manually. Otherwise data is not refreshed.
The status of corresponding object is Success, while seeing the History of the Object.If I click the View Latest Instance in CMCApp, It shows the updated data(Refreshed Data).
Whether I am following the Correct Steps? Other than this What I have to do for scheduling?
How can i retrieve the data from View Latest Instance?

You can schedule Crystal Reports only in an BO Enterprise environment (BOE).

Haven't used Tivoli but it's probably safe to assume that scheduler is capable of triggering a batch file or a command line. If so, then there are several 3rd-party Crystal Report Managers (see list at: http://www.kenhamady.com/bookmarks.html) that can be called via a command line.

[Infoview - BOXI3.1] Error when attempting to schedule a crystal report

Hi,
I have an error, when i attempt to schedule a report. When i click on the "Format" link I get the error below:
An error has occurred:Item SI_XSLT_INFO was not found in the collection.
Googling this error suprisingly returns no results! I have no idea what could be at fault and would love to get some help from any experts! I am a very new user to business objects enterprise.

Hi Friend,
I faced the same problem while scheduling the crystal report in BO XI R3 Infoview.
How I resolved it is by publishing(Using Publishing Wizard) the crystal report in the BO XI R3 enterprise and then scheduling. It worked fine.
The crystal report which I created was in Crystal Reports XI and the new BO XI Infoview supports Crystal Reports 2008.
I think this might be the problem.

Using Web Services on the Crystal Report Server XI to return reports

Hi,I'm trying to setup for the first time a Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and put a couple of reports onto the server. This is so I can access the reports on the crystal reports server using using the crystal web services and finally display the reports in an ASP.NET web application.So far I have installed the server, created a couple of reports, put them on the server, and tested to see that I can access the reports using the Central Management Console. This all works fine and the reports are returned. Ok, now for the bit that's not working. I looks like your mixing technologies here. How to stop printing the crystal report with an alert message

I am having a field called "APPROVAL" in my stored procedure with which I prepared the CR. I want that if the value in the filed is 'A' then only the crystal report should print else it should prompt with an alert message.

Check this helps you:
Create an alert from "Report -> Alerts -> Create or Modify Alerts" with below steps:
1. Provide name of the alert (say Alert1)
2. Click on X+2 in front of "Message" field and write the Alert message you want to display.
3. Click on Condition button and write the condition If not({APPROVAL}='A') then true;
The above Alert will prompt with configured alert message when {APPROVAL} field is not having value of 'A'
Now, in a formula, write below content and display it where you want to display the APPROVAL field value:
If {APPROVAL} = 'A' then
{APPROVAL}
This formula content will be blank if the value of {APPROVAL} is not 'A'

How to create a report with data using the Crystal Reports for Java SDK

Hi,
How do I create a report with data that can be displayed via the Crystal Report for Java SDK and the Viewers API?
I am writing my own report designer, and would like to use the Crystal Runtime Engine to display my report in DHTML, PDF, and Excel formats. I can create my own report through the following code snippet:
ReportClientDocument boReportClientDocument = new ReportClientDocument();
boReportClientDocument.newDocument();
However, I cannot find a way to add data elements to the report without specifying an RPT file. Is this possible? I seems like it is since the Eclipse Plug In allows you to specify your database parameters when creating an RPT file.
is there a way to do this through these packages?

com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.definition
Am I forced to create a RPT file for the different table and column structures I have?

How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically

I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.

This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.

There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

Error when running the Crystal Report 9.1 (visual studio 2003) in the deployed server

Hello,
1) I am suddenly getting an error message ‘Load Report failed’ in a production server (where the VS2003 application is deployed) when the Crystal Report is executed. This has happened maybe because of the Windows/Crystal Report Updates!
I am able to see the same report perfectly fine in the development computer using VS 2003.
I am using the 9.1 version which is part of the Visual Studio 2003.
The event logs show 'Either the keycode library is not registered or it cannot be loaded ...EventID=10029'. See attached screen shot.
Please help?
2) Since I was getting a registration suggestion window for using Crystal Reports, I registered twice using different email address and it said that it will send me the KeyCode for the Crystal report but after successful registration I never got any keycode but just an email acknowledging the Registration.
I believe the KeyCode is required to use it in the server to execute/run a report.
Can SAP representative email the keycode to my gmail account?

If I memory servers, you have to open the Crystal_Regwiz2003.msm in the .NET deployment project. One of the properties of the msm was Keycode (or similar). You entered the keycode here. To find your keycode; in VS2003 IDE, go to the Help | About screen. You will see one of the installed components as Crystal Reports and the keycode will be on the right of that. Copy the keycode from here, paste in the above.

Unable to view images in the crystal reports on a jsp

Hi folks,
I am unable to view any image (not even the ones like businessobjects logo) in the crystal reports fetched from the CMS. I am able to fetch the report properly. But I don;t get to see the images in the reports.
If anyone of you know how to fix it. Kindly post it. It's urgent.
PS: It would be great if you could kind of share a check list of things that need to be taken care of while viewing a crystal report with images.

Please check that you have crystalreportviewers11 (for version XI) or crystalreportviewers115 ( for version XI R2) folder in your BO installation and your web.xml has correct reference to it. You can copy this folder over in your web application and
Add an entry in web.xml as follows ( if it doesn't exist)

<param-value>/<your application name>/crystalreportviewers115</param-value>
</context-param>
crystalreportviewers11\115 have images folder which contain all the images for Logo and toolbar. Check the images folder in viewers and make sure that they exist.

Changing the Crystal Report dependency from 10.2 to 11.5 using config file

We have an windows application in .net 2.0, which refers to Crystal Report 10.2 version. Now the dependency was being upgraded to 11.5. But we do not have the exact source code for the executable to change the dependency from 10.2 to 11.5.
I have installed the CR 11.5 to the testing machine and tried to open the appilcation. it failed saying CR 10.2 dlls were missing
Then I changed the .net config files to change the dependency assembly as follows

Now the application launched with out any issues. I thought the problem was sorted out.
But when I tried to generate the report, there comes the problem

I do not want to install the 10.2 redistributable in teh machine also do not want to re-compile the sources changing the dependency
Is there any way to achieve this ?

No way that I know of. I believe once you change the dependency, you will have to recompile the project. Installing CR 10.2, may get this to work, but the app will most likely use the 10.2 references. Let's see if anyone else has any ideas.

Not able to see the crystal reports XI version in the IE 7 and IE 8

I am using web based application developed in VB,ASP,SQL SERVER,Crystal Reports(XI). I am able to see the Crystal Reports in IE 6. But i am not able to see the reports in IE 7 and IE 8. While clicking on the reports button it is showing the red X image top left cornor.
I am using CrystalActiveX viewer11 version for viewing the reports.
In IE 6,if the client using fiirst time for vieiwing the reports,it will ask the Activexviewer control prompt and says ok,it will display the reports.

Thanks your advise.But we are using following crystal reports (XI) version and we don't have CRXI with R1 and R2.
CurrentVersion:11.0.0.895 ( CR Developer and Product Type:Full)
Crystal Reportviewer11 configured in the IIS which is version (5.0). and configured the virtual folder to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0\crystalreportviewers11\.
Our web application code also configured in the IIS at same level.
When the user wants to see the reports through the application,it will ask the Plugin of Crystal Report Viewer and user will download this plugin and it will save in the IE plug ins.It will ask only first time viewing the reports for the next onwards it will not ask or prompt of the Activex control.
So please suggest me, is there any upgrade version of this Crystal Reportviewer11 needs to be installed or any browser setting need to be configured for IE 7 and IE 8.

How can I get the View Tab name on the Crystal Report Viewer at runtime?

When a report is displayed in the Windows Forms Crystal Report Viewer and the user drills into the report, the drill down view is displayed in a seperate view and is identified via a View tab at the top of the report. I can determine the index of the view tab that is currently selected, but I need to access the text that is on the View tab. The only properties that I've found that pertain to the "view" on the Crystal Report viewer are the ActiveViewIndex and the ViewCount. Unfortunately, neither of these items help me because they are not specific to a certain section of the report. Has anyone had any luck accessing the View Tab properties ? Thanks.

The tabs at the top of the page are nested within some of the viewers controls. Through trial and error you just have to find the right one. In this case the main part of the report is in the first control. This happens to be a TabControl. From there you can loop through the TabPages on the TabControl to grab the names of the tabs.
Here is a quick example of what I did to get the tab text. All this code was in a button click event.
Control oControl = crystalReportViewer1.Controls[0];
TabControl oTabControl = (TabControl)oControl.Controls[0];
foreach (TabPage oTabPage in oTabControl.TabPages)
MessageBox.Show(oTabPage.Text);
