Scheduling to File System BO4.0 without user/pass

Hello all,
I have a great deal of reports that I need to schedule to a network drive, which is mapped on the server running BO. However, I don't want to enter in a user and password on each instance. Obviously if the password changed for the account I would be screwed. I was assuming that BO would attempt to use the local account, but I'm still being forced to enter in values. Is there a setting somewhere in the CMC that I need to change?, or is there a place for me to enter in a user/pass once that can be changed without having to change every instance? I am using Enterprise authentication for the CMC if that matters at all. I attempted to enter in the user/pass in the Job Server destination, but there are multiple directories I will be sending to.
Thanks!

Hi Mike,
I would advise that you simply configure the Job Server Disk destination plugin with the drive details.
This way when scheduling you can simply ensure that the:
"Use Job Server Defaults" option is checked.
This is done like this:
To set your destination to file location
1. In the "Folders" management area of the CMC, select an object.
2. Click Actions > Schedule and access the "Destination" page.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Crystal report or object package, click Destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence document, click Formats and destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Web Intelligence document, click Formats and Destinations.
3. Select File location as the destination.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Crystal report or object package, select File Location from the Destination list.
u2022 If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence or Web Intelligence document, select File Location under "Output Format Details" and then click Destination Options and Settings.
4. If you are scheduling a Desktop Intelligence or Web Intelligence document, select or deselect Use the Job Server's defaults.
Note:
You can change the default Job Server settings in the "Servers" management area of the CMC. For more information, see the
BusinessObjects Enterprise Deployment and Configuration Guide.
I hope this is a very helpful answer to you.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Kind regards,
John

  • System Preferences Changing Without User Input

    I have one user who has had random system preferences change without her input.
    She is a network user connecting to a Lion 10.7.5 Server via OD.
    Her desktop is Lion - 10.7.4
    Example:  Today her setting for Security and Privacy to require a password on screen saver wake-up was changed/no longer checked.
    Her setting to be able to use a right click on her mouse changed 3x last week without input.
    Any ideas?

    If you are asking if the user is defined more than once, the answer is no.  Just one entry.

    Anyone else having this problem after the 10.6.1 update? Any resolutions besides muting system alerts?
    Thanks,

    I think I found my issue - It seems to have been with Peer Guardian. I uninstalled Growl a little while back because of a bug causing Firefox to launch in the background instead of in the foreground (help from Apple's forums helped with finding that fix), and I think PG heavily utilizes Growl for user notifications.
    One this you might try is creating a dummy user and logging into that account to see if the problem still exists. If it doesn't, then you know one of your startup items (System Preferences --> Accounts --> (user) --> Login Items) is causing the sounds you're hearing.

  • Crystal Report failed scheduling onto the File System

    Hi,
    We have set up a Crystal report file for scheduling via file system. This report has been running fine with regards to generation all through last few months, but has started failing to generate the report at the scheduled time onto the file system from the last few days. When I checked the logs of the Instance Manager, it shows an error like this 'Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters. Details: [Database Vendor Code: 1017 ]'.
    Please note, I was able to run the report from InfoView without any issue, so I don't believe there is any issue with stored procedure/report/database connection but something else.
    Can someone please provide some insights on this.
    Thanks.

    Hello Satish,
    Is this issue specific to FileSystem location? What about default enterprise location?
    When you view the reprt in InfoView, click on Refresh button to get current data. If the repot was published with Saved Data option, then you would see data in the report but it would be old one.
    Above step would confirm that there is no issues with database user credentials specified with the report.
    Also, open the report in Crystal Reports 2011, refresh it and publish without saved data in BI 4 repository and schedule it.

  • File System Repository - User Mapping not Working

    Hi,
    I tried to integrate a file system into KM. For doing so, I followed the guide located at [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/ed/b334ea02a2704388d1d2fc3e4298ad/frameset.htm].
    The only problem is, tht the user mapping doesn't seem to work...
    The portal is running on a UNIX system, whereas the file share to be integrated is running on a Windows 2003 Server.
    Here are the single steps that I performed:
    -  Creation of a KM Windows System in the system landscape directory with the ID "MySystem". User Mapping is set to "User,Admin"
    -  Creation of a Windows System in the system landscpe of the KM with the ID "MySystem"
    - Creation of a Network Path in KM with following settings:
    jCIFS Protocol is activated; Network Path = "
    My Server\My Share"; User = "My Windows Domain\My User" and the according password. The specified user has administration permissions on the server.
    - Creation of a readonly File System Repository Manager with following settings:
    Root-Directory = "
    My Server\My Share", SecurityManager = W2kSecurityManager, ACL Manager Cache = ca_rsrc_acl, Windows Landscape System = "MySystem"
    - Configuration of the W2KSecurityManager: I specified the DomainFile-setting as "/etc/companydomaincontrollers.txt"
      and placed such a file in the KM with following setting: "My.Server.Domain=According IP Adress"
    - In UME I carried out user mapping for index_service user and placed the above mentioned admin user into the user mapping.
    Result: The indexing works fine, all fles are indexed. When I however try to carry out a user mapping for a "normal" portal user in the UME it doesn't work: The portal user has no access to the file system. (I used the same admin user for mapping... so it should work).
    Any help is appreciated...
    P.S. With portal super admin users I can however access the fle system repository, even without user mapping. But I think this is ok, because I read in one forum message that admin users have always access in general....

    Hi Frank,
    thanks for your reply.
    I have as well definied an Alias Name with exactly the same id. So this gives us following:
    System landscape directory: KM Windows System with id="MySystem" and Alias="MySystem"
    KM System Landscape: Windows System with id="MySystem"
    In the created file system repository manager I also set "MySystem" for the Windows Landscape System parameter.
    So I think that this should be correct (I also considered upper- and lowercase letters).
    Maybe the probem lies in specifying the domain names? When I applied user mapping I always additionally specified the Windows domain name of the users, which is correct I think.
    In the security manager configuration for the domain controllers (-> [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/a9/c54e9e09448d46b73d154e93d5e995/content.htm]) I however mapped the network domain of the file share server to the according IP adress. Maybe this is wrong?

  • Generate a Report Dynamically without User Intervention and Output to XML

    Here's the scenario for which I am trying to find a solution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    I have a series of reports that the users generate from a UI by selecting the report, setting the values for a list of parameters, and then click a submit button. The report is generated in the UI for them to view. They can print it from here or export it to Excel.
    They would like to be able to schedule a report to run daily without user intervention using a saved set of parameters. The system would run the report automatically and email it to a defined set of email addresses.
    To do this, we need to have the report generated in a string or xml so a Java process can read it and email it.
    I see that I can change a report's template to export:xml so I feel that it is possible. How can I export a report to XML without user intervention? Can the report template be changd dynamically at runtime? Ideally, I need some way to call this same report and have it output as a string data or xml to be used by a Java process that would store and generate the report for email.

    Hi Kumar,
    From Program1 you are calling Program2, using submit syntax (inside Program1).
    While using submit, if you have correctly filled up the selection screen of program2, then it will AUTOMATICALLY get executed, WITHOUT F8.
    If there is any compulsary field in program 2, which does not get populated, then it will not run automatically, or unless some special code is written in program2.
    If you do not want the output of Program2 on screen, then u can use
    SUBMIT Program2 AND RETURN.
    In that case, no selection screen (of program2) will appear and neither the output of program 2.

  • A bad scare: root file system recovery [SOLVED]

    Hi, everybody,
    The trouble began with an odd message: KDE Daemon: new storage detected (hard disk): open in a new window, ignore. Unfortunately, the hard disk in question is statically mounted via /etc/fstab; should have been mounted all along.
    # /etc/fstab: static file system information
    # <file system> <dir> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
    none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
    none /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0

    /dev/dvd /mnt/dvd udf ro,user,noauto,unhide,iocharset=utf8 0 0
    /dev/fd0 /mnt/fd0 vfat user,noauto 0 0

    /dev/sdb2 / ext3 defaults 0 1
    /dev/sdb3 /home ext3 defaults 0 1
    #/dev/sda1 /home/alexey/mnt/a ext3 defaults 0 1
    It's /dev/sda1, now commented. Real trouble began when I tried to reboot. The kernel told me there's no root file system on sdb2; it checked the disks unsuccessfully, with scary messages about bad device names and device blocks, advised me to use rootfstype=kernel option, etc. sda1 turned out "bad" too. In fallback mode the system booted, but with file systems mounted read only; not much use... Using some recovery disk I commented out the /dev/sda1 line in /etc/fstab on suspicion that sda is the real offender; tried to reboot, without much success, then rebooted again, and something clicked into place; the system is back to normal, but I fear to approach sda1 . What happened? Any suggestion/link is going to be appreciated. It was pure luck; next time it could be much worse.
    Edit:
    Looks like 'clicked into place' is just the fallback kernel; kernel-related issue? It ran smoothly after the initial upgrade for a couple of weeks.
    Edit:

    I had this same damn thing happen. The problem is in the way the kernel gets its info from the bios. The bios has a nasty habit of switching the drives around even when sda is connected to sata1. This became a problem when libata came about and changed all drives to sdxX naming convention.
    To fix the no booting problem and the stupid rootfstype= error thing, u need to use Persistent block naming device scheme. Here on the wiki is a page dedicated to this... http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Per … ice_naming
    Try it and see if it helps. I used the /dev/by-uuid.

  • How increase external disk size used for an existing file system, Solaris10

    Configuration:
    Server: Sun T5220
    S/O: Solaris 10 5/08 s10s_u5wos_10 SPARC
    Storage: EMC AX4-5
    EMC PowerPath: PowerPath Version 5.2
    I have the following scenario:
    In AX4-5 storage array, I created two LUNs into RAID Group 10, with Raid Type1/0:
    LUN 101: 20Gb
    LUN 102: 10Gb
    Both LUNs were added to Storage Group (SG1) that includes two Servers (Server1 and Server2); both servers have Operating System Solaris 10 5/8 and Power Path.
    The servers detect both LUNs across two paths. With Power Path were created a virtual path (emcpower0a, emcpower1a) to access to each LUNs respectively.
    We have mounted two file system /home/tes1 over emcpower0a -> LUN101 and /home/tes2 over emcpower1a -> LUN102.
    Filesystem size used avail capacity Mounted on
    /dev/dsk/emcpower0a 20G 919M 19G 5% /home/test1
    /dev/dsk/emcpower1a 10G 9G 1G 90% /home/test2
    I want to increase the space in file system /home/test2, without lost the information that I have stored and using the same LUN, LUN 102. To do this I start with the following steps:
    1-     Create new LUN, LUN 103 with 15Gb into RAID Group 10. Result: OK, I have available space in RAID Group 10.
    2-     Add LUN 103 to LUN 102, using concatenation option. Result: OK. This action creates a new metaLUN with the same characteristics of LUN 102, but with new space of 25Gb.
    After to do these actions, I want to know how Solaris recognize this new space. What I need to do, to increase the size of file system /home/test2 to 25 Gb. Is that possible?
    I reviewed the description of each disk using format command, and the disks not have any change.
    Could anyone help me? If you need more detail, please do not hesitate to contact me.
    Thanks in advance.

    Robert, thank a lot for your know how. You helped me to clarify some doubts. To complete your answer, I will add two more details, based on my experience.
    After to execute, type -> auto configure and label, the disk was created with different partitions like root, swap, usr, like this:
    Volume name = < >
    ascii name = <DGC-RAID10-0223 cyl 49150 alt 2 hd 32 sec 12>
    pcyl = 49152
    ncyl = 49150
    acyl = 2
    nhead = 32
    nsect = 12
    Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
    0 root wm 0 - 682 128.06MB (683/0/0) 262272
    1 swap wu 683 - 1365 128.06MB (683/0/0) 262272
    2 backup wu 0 - 49149 9.00GB (49150/0/0) 18873600
    3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    6 usr wm 1366 - 49149 8.75GB (47784/0/0) 18349056
    7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    This was not convenient because all information stored appear in the first slice and growfs not work if appear root or swap slice into the disk, for that reason was necesary to recreate manually every slice with partition command. The final result was this:
    Part Tag Flag Cylinders Size Blocks
    0 unassigned wm 0 - 49149 9.00GB (49150/0/0) 18873600
    1 unassigned wu 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    2 backup wu 0 - 49149 9.00GB (49150/0/0) 18873600
    3 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    4 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    5 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    6 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    7 unassigned wm 0 0 (0/0/0) 0
    Now, execute again the label command to save the new information.
    Mount file system and execute:
    growfs –M file_system mount_point to expand the file system to 9Gb.

  • Limiting file access auditing to specific users

    I'd like to enable file system logging for specific users. Presently, under Advanced Audit Policy Config on the local file server (Win 2k8 R2 Std) I have enabled Audit File Share - but I get every users activity.  I want to limit it to a few users.
    As a test, I have added auditing to the security properties of a specific share, only for specific users, but that does not work if the Audit File Share isn't enabled.  And if it is, I get all users activity.  Any way to limit logging to specific

    Hi Mike,
    Based on my research, there are no system access control lists (SACLs) for shared files/folders, so that once we enable file share auditing, access to all shared files and folders on the system is audited.

  • [SOLVED] Fresh install read only file system

    I just did a fresh install of Arch this morning, and I have been trying to fix it most of the day. I was following the Beginner's Guide in the wiki as close as I could. /dev/disk/by-uuid/6334340b-87f1-406e-a777-13210ba85887 / ext3 defaults,noatime,nodirtime 0 1
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/5ffd6a40-6d72-4710-82af-ae894e557f89 swap swap defaults 0 0
    /dev/disk/by-uuid/32935c6c-6b75-4039-6b69-21f8b805e8f8 /home ext3 defaults,noatime,nodirtime 0 2
    ...but then I found an example while searching around that showed the lines like this:
    UUID=6334340b-87f1-406e-a777-13210ba85887 / ext3 defaults,noatime,nodirtime 0 1
    UUID=5ffd6a40-6d72-4710-82af-ae894e557f89 swap swap defaults 0 0
    UUID=32935c6c-6b75-4039-6b69-21f8b805e8f8 /home ext3 defaults,noatime,nodirtime 0 2
    In the first scenario, everything boots like normal, but when I tried to do anything that required writing to disk, the operation failed with a message about the file system being read-only. (I was trying to edit some config files because I couldn't get online.) Mind you, I was working as root the whole time, because I hadn't even gotten to adding a user yet. The only way I could make changes was to boot a live cd, mount, edit, reboot. remember to remove the live cd, reboot again, repeat.
    In the second version of fstab, the bootup process kept trying to check the disk for errors. When it was done it wanted to reboot. Then it tried to check again (presumably because it couldn't save the fact that it had already checked).
    I am at a loss. I really wish to use Arch Linux. I've been baby-fed for quite a while on Ubuntu, but it always ran slow. Please somebody help me! I am happy to provide more information; just let me know what you need.

    Thank you so much for pointing out that typo! Turns out that is what was wrong. Well plus two of uuids had one typo each....
    Also from what I can tell it doesn't matter which format I use for the uuids in fstab. I will use the UUID=xxxxx... version unless somebody can tell me why I shouldn't.

  • Give ZEN app file system rights so can install without user login

    ZfD 6.5.2 NW 6.5.5
    Is it possible to give an app rights to the file system on a Netware
    box to find the msi it needs to install even if there isn't a user
    logged in to the workstation?
    We have an app associated with workstations and when we tried to push
    it a number of installs failed because the users were logging on
    workstation only.
    This is also relevant to apps which install as "unsecure system user"
    because they do not inherit the logged-in user's Netware file system
    rights. In the past we've given the [public] trustee rights in order to
    get round this problem but would like a better solution.

  • Any way to Upload a File Automatically without user interaction in BSP.

    Hi,
    Any way to Upload a File Automatically without user interaction in BSP.
    Problem is;
    We have an terminal pc connected to an Production Machine and has a PLC for reading Machine Actual Datas. This terminal has Windows CE.NET OS. There is one program which Appending PLC Data to Text file (STORAGE CARD\PLC\SAMPLE.TXT).
    Users can access to WAS system in this Terminal (Has network).
    I have to access to SAMPLE.TXT file using BSP when user antered a page in WAS.
    Have you got any solution. I have tried so much methods to do this. But i have not found any solution.

    Yes SAMPLE.txt stored in "STORAGE CARD\PLC" folder in terminal.
    But i am trying in my computer to test with "C:
    GPS.txt"
    I have tried before this method. But I think this is a security exception. Because when i use
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!--
    var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
    extName = fso.GetExtensionName("C:\GPS.txt");
    alert(extName)
    -->
    </SCRIPT>
    i am getting an alert with message "txt". there is no problem.
    But when i try to access file using this code
    <SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript">
    <!--
    var fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject");
    fileObj = fso.GetFile("C:\GPS.txt");
    -->
    </SCRIPT>
    i am getting "Automation server can't create object".
